What is Just Another Grass Seed?
1 part
Just Another Grass Seed is in the pack at version 21.1.5, shipped as the file jags-neo-21.1.5+mc1.21.1.jar. It has been part of the pack since version 1.0.1 or earlier. The item you will see from it is Grass Seed.[1]
Where the quest book places it
You meet this mod right at the start. The pack's quest book puts it in the "the_beginning" chapter, where the quest a quest in "?" has a single task that asks you to have Grass Seed.[2]
That quest comes after quest a quest in "?", so you reach the seed during your first steps through the quest book. The quest has no title in the quest data, and the sources here do not show which quest follows it.[2]
Unverified The sources here do not describe what Grass Seed does in detail: no in-jar guidebook was found for this mod, and no platform description is stored for it. Check the quest in game for how the pack expects you to use the item.
How do you get started with Just Another Grass Seed?
3 parts
Just Another Grass Seed has a small footprint in this pack, and everything starts with one item: Grass Seed. The pack's quest book has a quest in The Beginning chapter whose task is that item, so it's the first thing to aim for.[2]
Step 1: Get Grass Seed
In this pack, Grass Seed comes from sifting. The pack adds a sifting recipe that can give it, alongside a lot of other seeds and crops. Check the recipe below for the exact setup.[3]

Added by the pack. Grass Seed is one of many possible results.
The quest a quest in "?" sits in The Beginning chapter and comes after another quest there. Its task is the Grass Seed item, so you'll reach it as you work through the opening quests.[2]
Step 2: Make Fake Grass Blocks
Next up is Fake Grass Block. The pack gives you two ways to craft it. The first is a shapeless recipe that turns a regular grass block into a fake one.[3]
Added by the pack as a shapeless crafting recipe.
The second is also added by the pack and doesn't use a grass block at all, so you have an alternative route to the same block.[3]
A second pack-added recipe for the same block.
Step 3: Pick a biome look in the stonecutter
Once you have a plain Fake Grass Block, the stonecutter turns it into biome-themed versions. Examples are Fake Grass Block (Plains), Fake Grass Block (Snow), Fake Grass Block (Swamp) and Fake Grass Block (Desert). Others cover Badlands, Birch, Cheery, Dark Forest, Jungle, Mangrove, Meadow, Mushroom, Ocean, Pale Garden and Sparse Jungle.[3]
Stonecutting

Stonecutting recipe added by the pack. The other biome variants follow the same pattern.
The swap works both ways. Each biome variant can be put back into the stonecutter to get the plain Fake Grass Block again, so you can change your mind later.[3]
Example: Plains back to plain. The other variants have matching recipes.
How does Just Another Grass Seed work?
3 parts
The sources for this mod only cover recipes. They show no machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or automation for it. What they do show is how you get Grass Seed and how you craft and swap between the fake grass blocks.[3]
Getting Grass Seed
In this pack, Grass Seed comes from sifting. The pack adds a Create Sifter recipe that sifts dirt with a Mechanical Cloth Mesh. Grass Seed is one of many possible results, alongside other seeds, saplings and crops. The sources don't give drop chances, so I can't tell you how often it shows up.[3]

The pack's sifting recipe: dirt plus a cloth mesh can give Grass Seed.
Crafting Fake Grass Blocks
The base Fake Grass Block has two crafting recipes in this pack, and both were added by the pack. One is a shapeless recipe that starts from a regular grass block. The other is a shapeless recipe that uses Super Glue.[3]
Switching biome variants
The biome-tinted variants are handled with stonecutting recipes added by the pack. Put the base Fake Grass Block into a stonecutter to get a variant. Put a variant in to get the base block back.[3]
The variants confirmed in the sources are Badlands, Birch, Cheery, Dark Forest, Desert, Jungle, Mangrove, Meadow, Mushroom, Ocean, Pale Garden, Plains, Snow, Sparse Jungle and Swamp. For example, Fake Grass Block (Badlands) and Fake Grass Block (Ocean) both start from the base block.[3]

Unverified What Grass Seed does once you have it is not shown in the sources here. No in-jar guidebook, item tooltips or config files for this mod are available, so check in game for its use.
How do you progress through Just Another Grass Seed?
3 parts
Just Another Grass Seed has no tiers in this pack. The sources show a short, flat path: one quest that asks you to get Grass Seed, plus some Fake Grass Block recipes for decoration.[2][3]
The quest
The pack's quest book places the mod in the "the_beginning" chapter. Quest a quest in "?" has a single task: obtain Grass Seed. It unlocks after quest 5FCEA8229BB6955C in the same chapter.[2]
Getting Grass Seed
The pack adds a sifting recipe where Grass Seed is one of the possible outputs. The same recipe also produces a long list of other crop seeds and saplings. The sources don't give drop chances, so this guide can't say how often the seed shows up.[3]
Sifting (createsifter)

Grass Seed is one of many possible outputs of this pack-added sifting recipe.
Fake Grass Blocks
The pack gives you two ways to craft Fake Grass Block. One is a shapeless recipe that starts from a regular grass block. The other is a second shapeless recipe, also added by the pack.[3]

How does Just Another Grass Seed work with other mods?
4 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.15.0 guide
This pack ties Just Another Grass Seed into several other mods through recipes it adds itself. These are the connections the pack's recipes and quests confirm.[4]
Getting Grass Seed by sifting dirt
The pack adds a Create Sifter recipe that sifts Dirt with a Mechanical Cloth Mesh. Grass Seed is one of the possible results.[4]
The same sift also gives seeds and crops from other mods, plus some vanilla items. The sources do not show drop chances.[4]
- Farmer's Delight: Cabbage Seeds, Rice Crops and Tomato Seeds.[4]
- Immersive Engineering: Industrial Hemp Seeds.[4]
- Integrated Dynamics: Menril Sapling.[4]
- Vanilla: Bamboo, Beetroot Seeds, Cocoa Beans, Melon Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, Sugar Cane, Sweet Berries and Wheat Seeds.[4]
Sifting (createsifter)
Recipe id: ftb:sifting/minecraft_dirt_with_cloth_mesh
Added by the pack: sifting dirt can give you Grass Seed.
Fake Grass Block with Create
The pack adds a shapeless crafting recipe for the Fake Grass Block. It connects the mod to Create, since the recipe uses Super Glue.[4]
Added by the pack.
Grass Seed and Ender IO
The pack also adds a Lychee item-inside recipe, grass_seed_from_dirt_water, that uses Grass Seed together with Grains of Infinity from Ender IO. The recipe dump lists no output for it.[4]

Quest link
In the "the_beginning" quest chapter, quest a quest in "?" has you hand in Grass Seed. It unlocks after another quest in the same chapter.[5]
Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Just Another Grass Seed?
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
In this pack, the mod shows up in one quest, and it lives in the "the_beginning" chapter. It's an early-game quest, so you'll run into it near the start of your run.[6]
The quest is a quest in "?", and it has no title in the pack files. Its task is an item task: you hand in Grass Seed. That's all the quest asks for.[6]
It comes after the quest with the id 5FCEA8229BB6955C in the same chapter, so you need to finish that one first before this one unlocks.[6]
Unverified The sources don't say what the previous quest asks for, whether this quest gives a reward, or how you obtain Grass Seed in this pack. Check the in-game quest book for those details.
