Data sources and credits

Last updated 7 October 2026

Every fact on ForgeBase is read from a stored source, never written from memory. This page lists the sources, what each one is used for, and who owns it. The owners keep all their rights.

Pack files

Recipes, tags, loot, configs, scripts and quest books are read from the packs as their authors release them. A page says which pack release it was checked against. When a pack changes a mod's recipe, the page shows the pack's version, not the mod's default.

Mod metadata

Mod names, versions, descriptions, authors, licences and changelogs come from CurseForge and Modrinth, using their public interfaces. Data provided by CurseForge and Modrinth.

Mod documentation

Guides also draw on each mod's own documentation, in-game guidebook or project page. A guide links to the exact source of each statement it makes.

Known issues

Issue lists come from the packs' official GitHub trackers, grouped by mod, and show the state they had when last checked.

Item pictures

Where a mod's licence allows it, the picture is that mod's own texture, credited on the item's page. Otherwise nothing of the author's artwork is stored or served; the picture is drawn by us in the colours of the texture.

What is ours

The guide text, the way pages are put together and the site itself. Guides are drafted with the help of AI from the sources above and published only after a person has reviewed them. Short quotations are shown with a link back to their source.

What we do not use

Recipes and numbers come from the pack and mod files above, not from forum posts or videos. If a fact has no stored source, the page leaves it out.
