Modded Minecraft, explained pack by pack

Guides written from what each pack actually ships: its recipes, its configs, its quests, kept in step with every release. A recipe here is the recipe in your game.

For players who want to know how a mod works in the pack they are actually playing. Every guide cites its sources, and a person approves it before it appears here.

What you can do here

Four things this site answers that a wiki can't, because the answer depends on the pack you're playing.

Look up any itemEvery item in every tracked pack, with the recipes that make it and the recipes that use it, as that pack crafts it rather than as the mod ships it.Try "steel ingot" →See what a release changedMods added, removed and updated, plus the recipes and configs that moved with them. Guides for the mods the packs are built around

Ordered by how many of each pack's quests use the mod, then by downloads. What they do, how to start, and what each pack changed.

How a guide gets written

The release is runIts server pack is built and started, which dumps every recipe, tag, quest and config the version really has.
The guide is written against that dumpEvery recipe and number in the text is checked against the pack's own data before it can be published.
The next release decides what changesWhen a pack updates, the difference between versions decides which sections are rewritten and which stay put.
