What is Just Another Grass Seed?
1 part
Just Another Grass Seed adds the Grass Seed item. The pack includes version 21.1.5 of the mod, and it has been there since FTB Skies 2 1.1.0 or earlier.[1][2]
Where it fits in the quest book
You meet the Grass Seed right at the start of the pack. The quest a quest in "?" sits in the "the_beginning" chapter, and its task is to hand in the Grass Seed. It has no title in the quest book.[2]
The quest unlocks after another quest in the same chapter, so you reach it while you are still getting set up. The sources show no quest that comes after it.[2]
How do you get started with Just Another Grass Seed?
3 parts
This mod is small, and in this pack the starting route comes down to one item: Grass Seed. A quest in the beginning chapter asks you to collect it, so you will meet it early.[2]
Step 1: Get Grass Seed
The only recipe for Grass Seed in the recipe dump is a sifting recipe that the pack added. It uses Dirt and the Mechanical Cloth Mesh (Mechanical Cloth Mesh). Grass Seed is just one of many possible results, alongside seeds, saplings, bamboo, sugar cane and similar items.[3]
Sifting (createsifter)

The pack's sifting recipe that can drop Grass Seed.
Once you have the seed, the quest a quest in "?" in the beginning chapter is satisfied by having Grass Seed. It unlocks after an earlier quest in the same chapter.[2]
Step 2: Make a Fake Grass Block
The pack adds two shapeless ways to craft the plain Fake Grass Block. The first turns a normal grass block straight into a Fake Grass Block.[3]
Shapeless recipe added by the pack, starting from a grass block.
The second needs no grass block at all, which is handy when you don't have one. It uses Create's Super Glue instead.[3]

Step 3: Pick a biome look
Every biome variant is made from the plain Fake Grass Block with a stonecutting recipe. The variants in this pack are Badlands, Birch, Cheery, Dark Forest, Desert, Jungle, Mangrove, Meadow, Mushroom, Ocean, Pale Garden, Plains, Snow, Sparse Jungle and Swamp. Here is the Plains one as an example.[3]

The other variants follow the same stonecutting pattern.
You can also change your mind later. Each variant has its own stonecutting recipe back to the plain Fake Grass Block, so nothing is lost if you pick the wrong look.[3]
How does Just Another Grass Seed work?
3 parts
Here's the honest picture, since you're probably expecting machines and power: the sources for this mod only cover recipes. They document no machine, multiblock, power, fluid or automation system for it. What they do show is how the pack gets you its items through crafting, stonecutting and sifting.[3]
Getting Grass Seed
Grass Seed is obtained through a sifting recipe that the pack adds. It's one of many possible results of that recipe, so you're relying on the sifting drop table rather than a dedicated machine from this mod. The recipe below shows the full list of outcomes.[3]
Sifting (createsifter)

Grass Seed is one of several possible results of this pack-added sifting recipe.
Crafting the Fake Grass Block
The pack adds two shapeless recipes for the base Fake Grass Block. Either one works, so you can use whichever is easier to supply.[3]
Biome variants via stonecutting
The biome-themed variants are made in a stonecutter, not a crafting grid. The pack adds stonecutting recipes that turn the base Fake Grass Block into several variants, including Fake Grass Block (Badlands), Fake Grass Block (Birch), Fake Grass Block (Cheery), Fake Grass Block (Dark_forest), Fake Grass Block (Desert), Fake Grass Block (Jungle), Fake Grass Block (Mangrove), Fake Grass Block (Meadow), Fake Grass Block (Mushroom), Fake Grass Block (Ocean) and Fake Grass Block (Pale_garden).[3]
Going back is just as easy. Stonecutting recipes convert the Mangrove, Snow, Plains, Birch, Cheery, Desert, Sparse Jungle, Jungle, Pale Garden, Ocean, Dark Forest, Mushroom, Swamp, Badlands and Meadow variants back into the base Fake Grass Block. That means you can swap a variant for the base block and then cut a different variant from it.[3]

How do you progress through Just Another Grass Seed?
3 parts
This mod has no tier ladder of its own in this pack. The path is short: you get Grass Seed, craft a Fake Grass Block, and then switch that block between biome looks.[2][3]
Step 1: Get Grass Seed
The Beginning chapter of the quest book has a quest, a quest in "?", whose task is to obtain Grass Seed. It unlocks after another quest in the pack's quest book.[2]
The pack adds a sifting recipe (handled by Create Sifter) that gives you the seed. You sift dirt with a Mechanical Cloth Mesh, and the same recipe also returns a range of other seeds and crops, so you may pick those up while you hunt for the seed.[3]

Step 2: Make a Fake Grass Block
The pack gives you two shapeless ways to make a Fake Grass Block. Use whichever is easier for you.[3]
Step 3: Switch biome variants
Once you have the base block, a stonecutter turns it into a biome variant. The pack adds these stonecutting recipes, and every variant can be cut back into the base block, so you are never locked into your first choice.[3]
- Fake Grass Block (Badlands), Fake Grass Block (Birch), Fake Grass Block (Cheery), Fake Grass Block (Dark_forest)[3]
- Fake Grass Block (Desert), Fake Grass Block (Jungle), Fake Grass Block (Mangrove), Fake Grass Block (Meadow)[3]
- Fake Grass Block (Mushroom), Fake Grass Block (Ocean), Fake Grass Block (Pale_garden), Fake Grass Block (Plains)[3]
- Fake Grass Block (Snow), Fake Grass Block (Sparse_jungle), Fake Grass Block (Swamp)[3]

How does Just Another Grass Seed work with other mods?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
This pack connects Just Another Grass Seed to other mods through three custom recipes, all added by the pack. Here is what each one does.[4]
Sifting for Grass Seed
The pack adds a Create Sifter sifting recipe where dirt and a Mechanical Cloth Mesh can give you Grass Seed. The same recipe lists seeds and crops from several other mods among its results.[4]
- Farmer's Delight: Cabbage Seeds, Rice Crops and Tomato Seeds[4]
- Immersive Engineering: Industrial Hemp Seeds[4]
- Integrated Dynamics: Menril Sapling[4]
- Vanilla items: Bamboo, Beetroot Seeds, Cocoa Beans, Melon Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, Sugar Cane, Sweet Berries and Wheat Seeds[4]

In the pack's quest book, the quest a quest in "?" in the the_beginning chapter has an item task for Grass Seed. It comes after another quest in that chapter.[5]
Fake Grass Block
The pack adds a shapeless crafting recipe for the Fake Grass Block that uses Super Glue from Create. The recipe is below.[4]

Grass Seed and Grains of Infinity
The third link is a Lychee recipe added by the pack, with the id grass_seed_from_dirt_water. It is an item-inside type recipe that takes Grains of Infinity, Grass Seed and Dirt as inputs.[4]

Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Just Another Grass Seed?
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
In this pack, the mod shows up in one quest, and it lives in the "the_beginning" chapter. It's an early-game quest, so you'll run into it near the start of your run.[5]
The quest is a quest in "?", and it has no title in the pack files. Its task is an item task: you hand in Grass Seed. That's all the quest asks for.[5]
It comes after the quest with the id 5FCEA8229BB6955C in the same chapter, so you need to finish that one first before this one unlocks.[5]
Unverified The sources don't say what the previous quest asks for, whether this quest gives a reward, or how you obtain Grass Seed in this pack. Check the in-game quest book for those details.
