What is Just Another Grass Seed?
1 part
Just Another Grass Seed adds the Grass Seed item to the pack. The pack ships version 21.1.5, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1, and it has been in the pack since version 1.0.1 or earlier.[1]
Where it fits in the progression
You meet this mod right at the start. The quest a quest in "?" sits in the "the_beginning" chapter and asks you to obtain Grass Seed. It unlocks after another quest in that same chapter, so you reach it early in your first steps.[2]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe how Grass Seed is obtained or used, what its configuration options are, or whether the pack changes any of its recipes or values. Check in-game before relying on any of that.
How do you get started with Just Another Grass Seed?
3 parts
Here's the good news: getting started with this mod is short and sweet. The pack points you at one item, Grass Seed, and everything else in this section follows from it.[2]
Step 1: Get Grass Seed
There's a quest in the Beginning chapter, a quest in "?", whose task is to obtain Grass Seed. It unlocks after an earlier quest in that chapter, so it's an early goal.[2]
The pack adds a sifting recipe that can give you the seed. Sifting is the recipe's own type, and the grass seed is one of many possible results from it. The recipe dump doesn't list drop chances, so I can't tell you how many tries it takes.[3]

Grass Seed is only one of many possible results of this sifting recipe.
Step 2: Make a Fake Grass Block
Next up is Fake Grass Block. The pack adds two shapeless crafting recipes for it, so you can use whichever route is easiest for you.[3]
Step 3: Pick a biome look
The pack also adds stonecutting recipes that turn the plain Fake Grass Block into biome variants, such as Fake Grass Block (Plains), Fake Grass Block (Snow) and Fake Grass Block (Desert). Other variants include badlands, birch, cheery, dark forest, jungle, mangrove, meadow, mushroom, ocean, pale garden, sparse jungle and swamp.[3]

Every variant has its own stonecutting recipe like this one.
It works in reverse too. Each variant can be put back into the stonecutter to get the plain block, so you won't get stuck if you pick the wrong look.[3]

Unverified The sources don't describe what Grass Seed does when used, or how the fake grass blocks behave in the world, so those details are unconfirmed here.
How does Just Another Grass Seed work?
3 parts
Here's the honest picture for this mod: Just Another Grass Seed doesn't bring any machines, multiblocks, power or fluid systems that the pack's data shows. What the sources do cover is how you get its items, so that's what this section sticks to.[3]
Getting Grass Seed
In this pack, Grass Seed comes from sifting. The pack adds a Create Sifter recipe where dirt, run through a Mechanical Cloth Mesh, can drop it. The same recipe also drops a long list of other seeds and plants, so Grass Seed is just one possible result. The sources don't give drop chances.[3]

Grass Seed is one of many possible outputs.
Crafting the Fake Grass Block
The pack gives you two shapeless ways to make Fake Grass Block. Both are added by the pack. One starts from a regular grass block, and the other uses Super Glue, dirt and moss carpet.[3]
Biome variants through the stonecutter
The pack also adds stonecutting recipes that turn the plain Fake Grass Block into biome-flavoured versions. Variants shown in the recipe data include Fake Grass Block (Badlands), Fake Grass Block (Birch), Fake Grass Block (Cheery), Fake Grass Block (Dark_forest), Fake Grass Block (Desert), Fake Grass Block (Jungle), Fake Grass Block (Mangrove), Fake Grass Block (Meadow), Fake Grass Block (Mushroom), Fake Grass Block (Ocean) and Fake Grass Block (Pale_garden). The recipe listing I have is cut off, so I can't confirm the forward recipes for the remaining variants.[3]
Every variant I can see also has a stonecutting recipe back to the plain Fake Grass Block. That includes Fake Grass Block (Plains), Fake Grass Block (Sparse_jungle), Fake Grass Block (Snow) and Fake Grass Block (Swamp). If you pick the wrong biome look, you can switch it back and try another.[3]

How do you progress through Just Another Grass Seed?
4 parts
Just Another Grass Seed doesn't have tiers or a ladder of upgrades in this pack. Progression here is one early quest, one way to get the seed, and a few ways to make decorative fake grass. Here's the whole path.[2][3]
The quest
The mod appears in the "the_beginning" chapter. Quest a quest in "?" has a single task: get a Grass Seed. It unlocks after another quest in the same chapter.[2]
Step 1: Get Grass Seed
The pack adds a sifting recipe that can drop Grass Seed. It's one of many possible results, alongside seeds, saplings and crops from other mods and vanilla. Since it's a chance-based drop from a shared pool, you may need to sift for a while. This is the only recipe for the seed in the pack's recipe dump.[3]
Sifting (createsifter)

Grass Seed is one of several possible outputs.
Step 2: Make Fake Grass Blocks
The pack adds two ways to craft a plain Fake Grass Block. Both are shapeless recipes, so the layout doesn't matter.[3]
Step 3: Switch biome variants
Once you have a plain Fake Grass Block, you can turn it into biome-colored versions with a stonecutter. Examples are Fake Grass Block (Plains), Fake Grass Block (Swamp), Fake Grass Block (Snow) and Fake Grass Block (Cheery). Each variant has a stonecutting recipe back to the plain block, so you can switch freely.[3]

Plains is just one example. Every variant follows the same stonecutting pattern.

How does Just Another Grass Seed work with other mods?
4 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.15.0 guide
This pack ties Just Another Grass Seed into several other mods through recipes it adds itself. These are the connections the pack's recipes and quests confirm.[4]
Getting Grass Seed by sifting dirt
The pack adds a Create Sifter recipe that sifts Dirt with a Mechanical Cloth Mesh. Grass Seed is one of the possible results.[4]
The same sift also gives seeds and crops from other mods, plus some vanilla items. The sources do not show drop chances.[4]
- Farmer's Delight: Cabbage Seeds, Rice Crops and Tomato Seeds.[4]
- Immersive Engineering: Industrial Hemp Seeds.[4]
- Integrated Dynamics: Menril Sapling.[4]
- Vanilla: Bamboo, Beetroot Seeds, Cocoa Beans, Melon Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, Sugar Cane, Sweet Berries and Wheat Seeds.[4]
Sifting (createsifter)

Added by the pack: sifting dirt can give you Grass Seed.
Fake Grass Block with Create
The pack adds a shapeless crafting recipe for the Fake Grass Block. It connects the mod to Create, since the recipe uses Super Glue.[4]
Added by the pack.
Grass Seed and Ender IO
The pack also adds a Lychee item-inside recipe, grass_seed_from_dirt_water, that uses Grass Seed together with Grains of Infinity from Ender IO. The recipe dump lists no output for it.[4]

Quest link
In the "the_beginning" quest chapter, quest a quest in "?" has you hand in Grass Seed. It unlocks after another quest in the same chapter.[5]
Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Just Another Grass Seed?
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
In this pack, the mod shows up in one quest, and it lives in the "the_beginning" chapter. It's an early-game quest, so you'll run into it near the start of your run.[6]
The quest is a quest in "?", and it has no title in the pack files. Its task is an item task: you hand in Grass Seed. That's all the quest asks for.[6]
It comes after the quest with the id 5FCEA8229BB6955C in the same chapter, so you need to finish that one first before this one unlocks.[6]
Unverified The sources don't say what the previous quest asks for, whether this quest gives a reward, or how you obtain Grass Seed in this pack. Check the in-game quest book for those details.
