What is Ender IO?
1 part
Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod. It adds machines, conduits, inventory management, armor, tools, weapons and mobs. This pack ships version 8.2.12-beta.[1][2]
Conduits are the part most players know it for. The mod lists these conduit types: item, fluid, energy, redstone, Applied Energistics 2 ME, Refined Storage and Mekanism chemicals.[1]
Where the quest book mentions it
Ender IO has no chapter of its own that I can see. It appears in "Chapter 1: The Beginning", which is in the "Main Questline" group and is chapter 5 of 66 in the book. That chapter has 35 quests, and 7 of them are not covered here, so check the quest book for the full list.[3]
The mention is in the quest a quest in "Chapter 1: The Beginning", which comes right after "Redstone" quest. It is about getting power out of your generators. It suggests Energy Pipes from Pipez, or Powah Energy Cables if you already use that mod. For a throwback, it says you can use the Energy Conduits from Ender IO.[3]
The quest's item task lists Basic Universal Cable, Energy Pipe and Energy Cable (Basic). Ender IO items are not in that list, so you do not need Ender IO to complete it. In the quests shown, nothing else lists that quest as a prerequisite.[3]
The chapter introduces the ATM Star as the pack's endgame goal. Ender IO is not on the ATM Star quest path. Think of it as an optional way to move power and items around, not a required step.[3]
How do you get started with Ender IO?
3 parts
Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod with machines, conduits, armor, tools, weapons and inventory management. Here is a sensible order for your first crafts in this pack.[1]
In the quest book, Ender IO first shows up in "Chapter 1: The Beginning" (Main Questline group, chapter 5 of 66). A power-transfer quest comes after the "Redstone" quest quest. It says you can move energy with Pipez energy pipes or Powah energy cables, or, if you want a throwback, with the Energy Conduits from Ender IO. The quest's own tasks list the Mekanism, Pipez and Powah cables, so Ender IO conduits are an optional route.[3]
Your first Ender IO crafts
Start with the Basic Capacitor. The Powered Spawner quest tells you to give the spawner a Capacitor, and the Basic Capacitor Bank recipe uses this item, so it comes first.[4][5]

A spawner of your own
The "Apothic Spawners" chapter (Resources group) has a quest for the Powered Spawner, Ender IO's mob spawner. It tells you to get a filled Soul Vial and a Broken Spawner, craft the Powered Spawner from the Broken Spawner, place it, give it a Capacitor and power it. It also says this spawner can fill Soul Vials directly.[4]

How does Ender IO work?
7 parts
Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod built around machines, conduits and inventory management. The sources for this pack cover a few of its systems in detail: conduits, capacitor banks, grinding balls, vat reagents and wireless charger range extenders. I'll go through those and leave out anything the sources don't confirm.[1]
Conduits
Conduits are how Ender IO moves things around. The mod lists these conduit types: item, fluid, energy, redstone, Applied Energistics 2 ME, Refined Storage and Mekanism chemicals. In the block list, conduits are placed as a single Conduit Bundle block.[1][6]
This pack adds its own recipes that make Ender IO conduits out of AE2 cables (glass, covered and dense covered). Here is the glass cable one:[5]

Added by the pack. The covered and dense covered cable recipes are also added by the pack.
Capacitor banks
Power storage comes from the Basic Capacitor Bank and the Advanced Capacitor Bank. There is even an advancement for building one. When you break either bank, it drops itself with its block entity data copied onto the item, so you can pick it up and move it.[6][7][8]
You can craft an Advanced bank directly, or upgrade a Basic bank you already have. The upgrade recipe is below.[5]

Grinding balls
The mod's data gives every grinding ball a durability, a power use multiplier, an output multiplier and a bonus multiplier. These are the values in the mod's own data file, and the sources here do not show the pack changing them. Some examples:[12]
- Dark Steel Grinding Ball: durability 125,000, power use 0.7, output multiplier 1.35, bonus multiplier 2.0.[12]
- Vibrant Alloy Grinding Ball: durability 80,000, power use 1.13, output multiplier 1.75, bonus multiplier 1.35.[12]
- Redstone Alloy Grinding Ball: durability 30,000, power use 0.35, output multiplier 1.0, bonus multiplier 1.0.[12]
- End Steel Grinding Ball: durability 75,000, power use 0.7, output multiplier 1.4, bonus multiplier 2.4.[12]
- Plain Flint also counts as a grinding ball: durability 24,000, power use 0.85, output multiplier 1.2, bonus multiplier 1.25.[12]
Vat reagents
The mod also has a vat reagent data map. It assigns values to ordinary items under reagent categories. Some of the values:[13]
- Cold: Blue Ice is 81.0, Packed Ice 9.0, Snow 0.12 and Snowball 0.11.[13]
- Explosives: Fire Charge is 0.5, Firework Rocket 0.4 and Gunpowder 0.25.[13]
- Natural lights: Glow Ink Sac is 0.5, Glowstone Dust 0.25 and Glow Berries 0.15.[13]
- Crops and sunflower: Sugar Cane is 0.5 as a crop, and Torchflower is 1.2 as a sunflower.[13]
Wireless charger range
The mod's data marks these blocks as range extenders: the Pulsating Wireless Antenna with a value of 16, and the Vibrant Wireless Antenna with a value of 32.[14]
Filters
For automation, the mod has item, fluid and soul filters, such as the Basic Item Filter, Basic Fluid Filter and Basic Soul Filter. There are also bigger and advanced item filters. You can turn a Redstone NAND Filter into a Redstone AND Filter.[5]
A mod recipe for getting the AND filter from the NAND filter.

How do you progress through Ender IO?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
The quest sources here touch Ender IO in only two places, so the progression below follows what the in-pack recipes show. You move up through capacitors, alloys and chassis-based machines.[15][16][17]
Power tier: capacitors and banks
Your first energy step is the Basic Capacitor. The next tier up is the Double-Layer Capacitor, and the recipe for it takes a Basic Capacitor as its starting point.[17]
Capacitor banks follow the same two steps. The Basic Capacitor Bank is built around a Basic Capacitor, and the Advanced Capacitor Bank is built around a Double-Layer Capacitor. There is also an upgrade recipe that turns a Basic Capacitor Bank into an Advanced one, so you don't have to start over.[17]

Alloy and machine tiers
- Machine basics: the Alloy Smelter, Crafter and Drain are all built on a Void Chassis. That makes the chassis your first real gate for machines.[17]
- Conductive alloy: the Conductive Alloy Ingot shows up in utility gear such as the Conduit Probe and Coordinate Selector. It is also part of the Electromagnet recipe.[17]
- Dark steel: the Dark Steel Ingot is used for the Enchanter and Cold Fire Igniter. It is also used for dark steel building pieces such as Dark Steel Bars and for The Ender, which is named The Ender.[17]
- Vibrant alloy: the Ender energy conduit recipes and the Ender fluid conduit recipe all use vibrant alloy ingots. The Electromagnet needs a vibrant crystal.[17]
- Soul-based machines: the Attractor Obelisk and Aversion Obelisk both use an Ensouled Chassis, soularium and energetic alloy.[17]
- End steel: it has its own ingot, nugget, block, bars and grinding ball recipes, such as End Steel Ingot.[17]
Spawner milestone
The one Ender IO quest with a real goal is a quest in "Apothic Spawners", in the Apothic Spawners chapter. It asks you to make the Powered Spawner. You need a filled Soul Vial and a Broken Spawner. Once you've crafted and placed it, give it a Capacitor and power it. The quest also says this spawner can fill Soul Vials directly, with no Clicker needed.[15]

The recipe list also has a recipe that clears a Powered Spawner back to a blank one, and a soul binding recipe for it.[17]
Pack-specific changes
The pack adds its own recipes for Ender IO conduits that carry AE2 cables. They combine a Conduit Binder with a glass, covered or dense covered cable.[17]

The pack also changes the decompress recipes that turn compressed blocks back into Ender IO blocks. This covers the conductive, dark steel, end steel, energetic, pulsating, redstone, soularium and vibrant alloy blocks.[17]
Wrench side quest
Quest a quest in "Industrial Foregoing" sits in the Industrial Foregoing chapter. It lists wrenches that can rotate Industrial Foregoing machines, and the Yeta Wrench is one of the accepted ones. The quest notes the tests were done mainly on the Laser Drill, so some wrenches might not work on other machines.[16]

How does Ender IO work with other mods?
6 parts
Ender IO shows up in a lot of other mods' recipes in this pack. Some of these are the pack's own additions, and some are changes to recipes that already existed. Here is where the connections are.[5]
Mekanism
The pack adds recipes that turn Mekanism's pressurized tubes and its Advanced Thermodynamic Conductor into Ender IO conduits, using a Conduit Binder. Two more recipes make a conduit straight from Infused Alloy or Reinforced Alloy. They are the upgrade versions.[5]

The quest book mentions Ender IO once for early power transfer. In the quest a quest in "Chapter 1: The Beginning", the pack suggests Pipez Energy Pipes, Powah Energy Cables or Mekanism cables, and adds that you can go for a throwback with Ender IO's Energy Conduits. It sits in "Chapter 1: The Beginning" (group "Main Questline", chapter 5 of 66 in the book) and comes right after the quest "Redstone" quest.[3]

Mystical Agriculture
The pack changed the Mystical Agriculture essence recipes for Ender IO materials. Essences from the dark steel, end steel, energetic alloy, pulsating alloy, redstone alloy, soularium, vibrant alloy and conductive alloy families craft into the matching Ender IO ingots. There are also copper alloy and Grains of Infinity versions.[5]

Productive Bees
The Productive Bees centrifuge recipes for the Ender IO honeycombs were changed by the pack. They give you the matching Ender IO nugget plus Wax. The infinity honeycomb gives Grains of Infinity instead of a nugget. The nuggets covered are conductive alloy, dark steel, end steel, energetic alloy, pulsating alloy, redstone alloy, soularium and vibrant alloy.[5]
All the Compressed
Each Ender IO alloy block has compress and decompress recipes with an All the Compressed 1x version, for example Dark Steel Block 1x and Soularium Block 1x. The pack changed these recipes. The 1x version converts back to the original Ender IO block.[5]

Modern Industrialization runic machines
The pack adds a set of recipes for the Runic Enchanter and the Automatic Hephaestus Forge. Many of them use Ender IO items.[5]
- The Runic Enchanter makes Enchanted Book from Dark Steel Ingot with different KubeJS enchanting bases. Versions that use Grains of Infinity or an Experience Rod exist too.[5]
- The Runic Enchanter also has recipes that use a Broken Spawner and a Soul Vial.[5]
- The Automatic Hephaestus Forge uses the Z-Logic Controller in recipes for Runic Attuned Arcane Crystal, Runic Star Altar, Runic Crucible, Runic Enchanter and the forge itself. The Runic Attuned Arcane Crystal recipe also uses the Sentient Ender.[5]
- Modularium is made in the Automatic Hephaestus Forge with an End Steel Ingot plus one of Allthemodium Ingot, Unobtainium Ingot or Vibranium Ingot.[5]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Ender IO?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Ender IO appears in the Apothic Spawners and Industrial Foregoing chapters in this pack. In the quests the sources show, it is not a full questline. It is a side item in each chapter.[15][16]
Apothic Spawners: EnderIO's Spawner
Quest a quest in "Apothic Spawners" asks you to obtain the Powered Spawner. It unlocks after an earlier quest, so you won't reach it first in the chapter.[15]
The quest text describes the Powered Spawner as the Mob Spawner made using Ender IO. You need a filled Soul Vial and a Broken Spawner. Strictly, the quest says only the Soul Vial is needed to change the spawner's mob.[15]
- Get a filled Soul Vial and a Broken Spawner you like.[15]
- Craft the Powered Spawner using the Broken Spawner.[15]
- Place it down, give it a Capacitor, and power it. Then it starts spawning mobs.[15]
Industrial Foregoing: the wrench quest
Quest a quest in "Industrial Foregoing" sits in the Industrial Foregoing chapter and comes after the quest listed as Industrial Foregoing. Its task accepts any of several wrenches, and the Yeta Wrench is among them. The others come from different mods.[16]
The quest author wrote it because most wrenches can't rotate Industrial Foregoing machines. The list covers the wrenches they found that can. They tested mainly on the Laser Drill, so a wrench that works there may not work on other machines.[16]
What changed in Ender IO between versions?
2 parts
All the Mods 10 8.2 ships Ender IO 8.2.12-beta. It has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 0.53 or earlier. Here is how it got there, and what changed along the way.[2][18]

Notable changes in the mod
Ender IO 7 was a big rewrite: new conduits with datapack support, the Vat for fluid crafting, the Phantom solar panel, and inhibitor, aversion and relocator obelisks. The changelog also warned that some early-game recipes might change.[30]
- 7.1.5-alpha changed how alloy smelter smelting recipe inheritance works. If a modpack disables smelting recipes specifically in the alloy smelter, it may need the KubeJS community addon for that.[31]
- 7.1.6-alpha fixed solar panels not producing energy for most of the day, and machines only pushing energy once every 5 ticks.[32]
- 7.1.7-alpha rewrote facade rendering for better compatibility and added recipes to erase machine data.[33]
- 8.1.1-beta removed energy throttling, made machines that send energy distribute it evenly, and added a whitelist tag for capturing and spawning mobs.[34]
- 8.2.3-beta moved the 8.2 branch into the main slot and fixed painted blocks not copying data to the placed block.[35]
- 8.2.5-beta added keybinds and curio support to the staff of travelling and the electromagnet, and fixed energy conduits that the previous update had broken.[36]
- 8.2.9-beta added a potential fix for both poor energy conduit performance and crashes.[37]
- 8.2.11-beta improved fire crafting, made fire water work for it, and discarded networks corrupted by the update from 8.0.7 to 8.2.9.[38]
- 8.2.12-beta added tooltips to item, fluid and redstone filter slots. It also fixed coldfire, the powered spawner putting too many items in the output, self-feeding energy conduits, and machines duping items under specific conditions.[39]
