What is Ender IO?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 5.5 guide

Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod that covers a lot of ground in one package: machines, conduits, armor, weapons, tools, enchantments and decorative blocks. If you enjoy tech mods, this one gives you plenty to dig into, from processing machines to the conduits you'll use to move things around your base.[1]

Conduits

Conduits are one of the mod's headline features. These are the types the mod lists:[1]

Ender IO in this pack

All the Mods 10 5.5 ships Ender IO 8.1.1-beta. The mod has been part of the pack since version 2.25 or earlier.[2]

Watch out: The version in this pack is a beta, and Ender IO is being rewritten from the ground up for newer Minecraft versions. That means some features from older versions haven't been ported yet. If you remember something from an older pack and can't find it, it may simply not be in this version.[1][2]
Tip: Don't count on the in-game guidebook for help with this mod. In this version it only contains test entries and untranslated placeholder text, so recipe viewers and guides like this one are your better bet.[3][4][5]

Unverified The available sources don't cover where Ender IO fits into this pack's progression.

How do you get started with Ender IO?

3 parts

Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod with machines, conduits, armor, tools and weapons. Every Ender IO recipe shown in the pack's recipe dump is marked as added by the pack, so the recipes below are this pack's versions, not the mod's defaults. Don't rely on what you remember from other packs.[1][6]

Start with the capacitor chain

The Basic Capacitor starts the capacitor chain, which leads on to the Basic Capacitor Bank and the Double-Layer Capacitor. That makes it the natural first craft. The recipes below show the exact in-pack versions.[6]

Dark steel and your first machines

Several of this pack's Ender IO recipes use dark steel ingots. The Alloy Smelter, the Enchanter and the Cold Fire Igniter all do. So do dark steel bars, doors, ladders and the sword.[6]

The alloy smelter, the Crafter and the Drain also use a Void Chassis in their recipes, so you need to plan for that item before you can build them.[6]

How does Ender IO work?

5 parts

Here's the honest picture for this section: Ender IO is a big tech mod, but the material I have for this pack only covers its overall structure and a set of pack recipes. I can't walk you through exact power rates, machine speeds or multiblock layouts, because none of that is confirmed. What I can tell you is below.[1][6]

What the mod covers

Ender IO describes itself as a full-featured tech mod with armor, tools, weapons, machines, conduits and inventory management. Its feature list adds enchantments and decorative blocks on top of that. Keep in mind that the page says some features have not yet been ported, so not everything it describes is guaranteed to be there.[1]

The project page lists several modules: Base, Machines, Conduits and Inventory Panel, plus integration modules for Applied Energistics 2, Open Computers, Refined Storage, Forestry and Tinkers Construct. The page also says the mod is being rewritten for the latest Minecraft version, so some older features may not be ported yet.[1]

Conduits

Conduits are one of the mod's headline features. The project page lists these conduit types: item, fluid, energy, redstone, Applied Energistics 2 ME, Refined Storage and Mekanism chemicals. The same page says the rewrite has not yet ported every feature, so treat this as the project page's list rather than a confirmed list for this pack.[1]

This pack adds recipes that turn Applied Energistics 2 glass, covered and dense covered cables into an Ender IO Conduit Bundle. Here is the glass cable version.[6]

The alloy and steel storage blocks, such as the Dark Steel Block and End Steel Block, can be unpacked from their compressed versions. The dump marks those decompress recipes as changed by the pack.[6]

Unverified Machine power use, processing speeds, multiblock structures, conduit throughput and how conduit connections are configured are not shown in the sources here. No config files, in-jar guidebook or lang descriptions were available for this mod, so I can't confirm those details.

How do you progress through Ender IO?

6 parts

Ender IO progression in this pack runs through alloys. Each new alloy shows up in the recipes for the next machines, capacitors and conduits, so you can plan by following which alloy each recipe asks for. The Ender IO recipes in the pack's recipe dump are marked as added by the pack, so use the recipe blocks below rather than the mod's defaults.[6]

Unverified The pack's quest book has no Ender IO quests in the sources here, so there is no quest-guided order. The tier order below follows only what each in-pack recipe depends on.

Copper alloy and the first capacitor

Your first power-related step is the Basic Capacitor. It feeds into the Basic Capacitor Bank, which is built from it.[6]

enderio:copper_alloy_ingot is the early alloy to look for. The Drain, the Coordinate Selector and the Electromagnet all call for it.[6]

Conductive and energetic alloy

Conductive Alloy Ingot is used for the basic energy conduit. Step up to Energetic Alloy Ingot and you get the enhanced energy conduit, plus the Energized Bimetal Gear.[6]

Energetic alloy also leads to your next capacitor. The Double-Layer Capacitor is built on top of a basic capacitor.[6]

Dark steel and the machines

Dark Steel Ingot is needed for the Alloy Smelter, the Enchanter and the Cold Fire Igniter. The Alloy Smelter, the Crafter and the Drain are all built around a Void Chassis, so expect to make that part early.[6]

Dark steel also gives you a set of building and gear items: Dark Steel Bars, Dark Steel Door, Dark Steel Trapdoor, Dark Steel Ladder, Dark Steel Pressure Plate and the The Ender. The Dark Bimetal Gear combines dark steel with an iron gear.[6]

Vibrant alloy, soularium and end steel

Vibrant Alloy Ingot is used by the ender energy conduit and the ender fluid conduit recipes.[6]

Soularium is needed for the enderio:empty_soul_vial and the Ensouled Chassis. The chassis and an Enderman Head both go into the Aversion Obelisk. The pack has its own recipe for the Enderman Head, and both recipes are shown below.[6]

Filters and utility items

enderio:black_paper is the base for the filter line. It is used for the enderio:basic_filter, the enderio:advanced_filter and the enderio:entity_filter. The advanced filter also needs a Z-Logic Controller, and the entity filter needs an empty soul vial.[6]

The pack also has All the Compressed decompress recipes for these blocks, plus the pulsating alloy, redstone alloy and vibrant alloy blocks. The dump marks those decompress recipes as changed by the pack.[6]

How does Ender IO work with other mods?

5 parts

Ender IO is a big tech mod on its own, but this pack wires it into a lot of other mods through custom recipes. I'll walk you through the connections that show up in the pack's recipes, because that's where you'll actually run into them.[1][6]

Unverified No quests in this pack involve Ender IO, so everything below comes from recipes only.

Mekanism

The pack adds recipes that turn Mekanism transport pieces into an Ender IO Conduit Bundle. They cover pressurized tubes and the Advanced Thermodynamic Conductor, and they use the Conduit Binder. There are also upgrade recipes that start from Mekanism's Infused Alloy and Reinforced Alloy. Here is the basic tube version.[6]

Ender IO's own project page also lists a Mekanism Chemicals conduit type, next to the Applied Energistics 2 ME and Refined Storage ones. That list comes from the mod's description, so I haven't checked how each conduit behaves in this pack.[1]

Modular Machinery Reborn

Ender IO parts are built into the pack's custom multiblock casings and hatches. The Sentient Ender goes into the plain modular_machinery_reborn:casing_plain. The reinforced casing uses the Dark Steel Block and the Reinforced Obsidian. The gearbox casing uses the Dark Bimetal Gear.[6]

Modern Industrialization and the Forge/Enchanter chain

Most of the pack's auto forge recipes use the Z-Logic Controller. That includes the Runic Enchanter, the Runic Crucible, the Runic Star Altar and the Runic Attuned Arcane Crystal. The Machine Controller has several recipe variants, each built around a different Mekanism machine, and every one of them needs that controller too.[6]

Enchanted book recipes in the Runic Enchanter use the Dark Steel Ingot with the inferium, tertium and imperium enchanting bases. The supremium base takes the Experience Rod or the Grains of Infinity instead. The same enchanter can also turn an enderio:empty_soul_vial into a enderio:filled_soul_vial.[6]

Mystical Agriculture

The Enderman Head is a Mystical Agriculture crossover added by the pack, and the Blank Skull and Enderman Essence are its Mystical Agriculture side. The exact recipe is below.[6]

Compressed blocks

Nine Ender IO storage blocks can be compressed into 1x compressed versions and back again. They are the conductive, copper, energetic, pulsating, redstone, vibrant and soularium alloys, plus dark steel and end steel. The pack changes all of these recipes. Which All the Mods 10 quests use Ender IO?

4 parts

Ender IO doesn't have a chapter of its own in the quest book. It is mentioned inside quests from four chapters, so here they are in chapter order. None of these quests asks you to hand in an Ender IO item.[7][8][9][10]

Chapter 1: The Beginning

The mention here is in a quest in "Chapter 1: The Beginning", which unlocks after "Redstone" quest. It is about getting power out of your generators. The quest suggests Pipez Energy Pipes or Powah Energy Cables, and says that this pack has Ender IO, so you can use its Energy Conduits as a throwback. The quest itself accepts a Mekanism, Pipez or Powah cable item. a quest in "Chapter 1: The Beginning" comes right after it and is about storing power.[7]

Chapter 2: Allthemodium

"Piglich Boss" quest is placed after the Ancient Pyramid quest. It asks for a Piglich Heart, which the quest says is needed for alloys and the ATM Star. It also tells you to look into ways of farming the hearts, for example with HNN or Ender IO. It doesn't say how. The chapter has 54 quests and 28 of them aren't covered in these sources, so check the quest book itself for anything else about Ender IO there.[10]

Chapter 4: Creative

This is where the quest book gets most specific about Ender IO. a quest in "Chapter 4: Creative" unlocks after "Runic Enchanter" quest. It asks you to automate Infused Dragon's Breath and Mending Books. For the Mending Books, the hardest part is the Experience Rod, which needs two alloys from Ender IO: Soularium and Energetic Alloy. The quest says both can be made in an Alloy Smelter.[8]

The next quest is "Infused Patrick Star" quest, which comes after a quest in "Chapter 4: Creative". It uses the Mending Books and the Infused Dragon's Breath from the Runic Enchanter.[8]

Basic Logistics

"Laser IO" quest describes LaserIO as DireWolf's continuation of Ender IO's Logistics. The task is a Logic Chip. The quests that come after it cover LaserIO cards, nodes and filters, such as "Item Card" quest and a quest in "Basic Logistics".[9]

What changed in Ender IO between versions?

Ender IO has been part of All the Mods 10 for a long time. It was first included in All the Mods 10 2.2 or earlier, and the 4.10 release ships version 7.1.8-alpha (the file enderio-7.1.8-alpha.jar).[11]

Here are the Ender IO updates recorded in the pack changelogs, oldest first. Each one bumped the mod by a single patch version.[12][13][14]

  • All the Mods 10 2.31 updated Ender IO from 7.1.5-alpha to 7.1.6-alpha.[14]
  • All the Mods 10 2.40 updated Ender IO from 7.1.6-alpha to 7.1.7-alpha.[13]
  • All the Mods 10 2.42 updated Ender IO from 7.1.7-alpha to 7.1.8-alpha.[12]

The 7.1.8-alpha version from the 2.42 update is the same one listed in the 4.10 mod list. So if you're playing 4.10, you're on the version from that update.[11][12]

Tip: Notice the alpha tag on every version here. Ender IO in this pack has been an alpha build throughout these updates, so it's smart to keep backups of your world when you update the pack.[11][12][13][14]

Unverified What actually changed inside each Ender IO update (new features, bug fixes, rebalanced machines or recipes) can't be confirmed here, because no mod changelogs are available for these versions. The pack changelogs only record the version bumps. Any Ender IO updates between 2.2 and 2.31 are also unconfirmed.
