What is Ender IO?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 5.5 guide

Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod that covers a lot of ground in one package: machines, conduits, armor, weapons, tools, enchantments and decorative blocks. If you enjoy tech mods, this one gives you plenty to dig into, from processing machines to the conduits you'll use to move things around your base.[1]

Conduits

Conduits are one of the mod's headline features. These are the types the mod lists:[1]

Ender IO in this pack

All the Mods 10 5.5 ships Ender IO 8.1.1-beta. The mod has been part of the pack since version 2.25 or earlier.[2]

Watch out: The version in this pack is a beta, and Ender IO is being rewritten from the ground up for newer Minecraft versions. That means some features from older versions haven't been ported yet. If you remember something from an older pack and can't find it, it may simply not be in this version.[1][2]
Tip: Don't count on the in-game guidebook for help with this mod. In this version it only contains test entries and untranslated placeholder text, so recipe viewers and guides like this one are your better bet.[3][4][5]

Unverified The available sources don't cover where Ender IO fits into this pack's progression.

How do you get started with Ender IO?

5 parts

Welcome to Ender IO! It's a full-featured tech mod with machines, conduits, armor, tools, weapons, enchantments and decorative blocks. This section walks you through the first things worth crafting in All the Mods 10 and what each one leads to.[1]

Watch out: Ender IO is being rebuilt from the ground up for the latest Minecraft versions, so some features you remember from older versions may not be in this version yet. Older videos and guides might show things that don't exist here.[1]

Your first machines

Two early blocks are the Alloy Smelter and the Crafter. It pays to keep a few Void Chassis in stock while you work through Ender IO's machines in this pack, and the recipe blocks below show exactly what each machine takes here.[6]

How does Ender IO work?

6 parts

Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod. It covers machines, conduits, inventory management, armor, tools, weapons, enchantments and decorative blocks, so it reaches into almost every part of a modded base.[1]

Watch out: Ender IO is being rewritten from the ground up for the latest Minecraft versions, so some features from older versions haven't been ported yet. Many older videos and guides show things that may work differently or be missing here, so trust what you see in-game over an old tutorial.[1]

Conduits

Conduits are Ender IO's way of moving things around your base. The mod lists these conduit types:[1]

In this pack you can turn Applied Energistics 2 glass cables, covered cables and dense covered cables into an Ender IO Conduit Bundle with the help of Conduit Binder. This is handy if you already have AE2 cable and want to run your ME network through Ender IO conduit lines instead.[6]

Alloy blocks in this pack

All the Mods 10 changes how Ender IO alloy blocks interact with compressed storage. Compressed versions of Conductive Alloy, Copper Alloy, Dark Steel, End Steel, Energetic Alloy, Pulsating Alloy, Redstone Alloy, Soularium and Vibrant Alloy blocks each have a pack-changed recipe that decompresses them back into the normal Ender IO block, such as Dark Steel Block.[6]

Unverified The available sources don't explain how conduits connect or are configured, how much energy capacitor banks hold or transfer, what each filter does in detail, how the Alloy Smelter processes items, what the obelisks and token glass variants do, or whether Ender IO has any multiblocks in this version. Check these in-game or with a recipe viewer. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How do you progress through Ender IO?

4 parts

Ender IO in this pack has no quest line guiding you through it, so your progression follows the crafting chains. The good news is those chains are easy to trace once you know which items unlock the next step. Early on, you're working toward the Void Chassis, because both the Alloy Smelter and the Crafter are built on it.[6]

Alloy materials

The alloys are the backbone of every tier. The pack gives you block, ingot and nugget conversions for enderio:copper_alloy_ingot, Conductive Alloy Ingot and Dark Steel Ingot. You'll also find storage blocks for the later materials: Energetic Alloy Block, Vibrant Alloy Block, Pulsating Alloy Block, Redstone Alloy Block, Soularium Block and End Steel Block.[6]

Grinding balls follow the same material ladder. There's a enderio:copper_alloy_grinding_ball, a Conductive Alloy Grinding Ball and a Dark Steel Grinding Ball.[6]

Tip: Did you compress your Ender IO alloy blocks with AllTheCompressed? You can uncompress them back into the normal Ender IO blocks. The pack has changed these uncompressing recipes, so check them in-game rather than relying on older guides.[6]

Dark Steel gear and upgrades

Once you have Dark Steel, you can make the full toolset and armor set: enderio:dark_steel_pickaxe, enderio:dark_steel_axe, The Ender, enderio:dark_steel_helmet, enderio:dark_steel_chestplate, enderio:dark_steel_leggings and enderio:dark_steel_boots. Every upgrade starts from a enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_blank, and several upgrades come in tiers that keep pace with the rest of your progression.[6]

  • The Empowered line runs from enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_empowered_1 to enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_empowered_4. Its higher tiers track your capacitor progress, so the top tier waits until you have an Octadic Capacitor.[6]
  • The Solar line runs from enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_solar_1 to enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_solar_3. It follows the photovoltaic modules: Energetic Photovoltaic Module, then Pulsating Photovoltaic Module, then Vibrant Photovoltaic Module.[6]
  • Jump goes from enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_jump_1 to enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_jump_2, and Speed goes from enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_speedboost1 to enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_speedboost2. In both lines, the second tier swaps an iron gear for an Energized Bimetal Gear.[6]
  • Penetration goes from enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_penetration_1 to enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_penetration_2.[6]
  • There are also single-tier upgrades: enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_direct, enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_nightvision, enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_fork, enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_glider and enderio:dark_steel_upgrade_elytra.[6]

How does Ender IO work with other mods?

5 parts

Ender IO doesn't sit on its own in this pack. Its alloys, conduits and a few of its special items show up in recipes from lots of other mods. Some of those links come from the mods' own compat recipes and some were added or changed by the pack itself. Here's where you'll run into them.[6]

Mekanism tubes as conduits

Ender IO conduits can carry Mekanism chemicals, and this pack adds recipes that turn Mekanism's own transport blocks into an Conduit Bundle using Conduit Binder. There are recipes for the Basic Pressurized Tube, Advanced Pressurized Tube, Elite Pressurized Tube and Advanced Thermodynamic Conductor. There are also two upgrade recipes that use Infused Alloy and Reinforced Alloy.[1][6]

Farming Ender IO materials

Mystical Agriculture can grow essences for all the Ender IO alloys, and each essence crafts into its ingot. That covers Conductive Alloy Ingot, enderio:copper_alloy_ingot, Dark Steel Ingot, End Steel Ingot, Energetic Alloy Ingot, Pulsating Alloy Ingot, Redstone Alloy Ingot, Soularium Ingot and Vibrant Alloy Ingot. There is also an essence for Grains of Infinity. This pack changed all of these recipes.[6]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Ender IO?

    4 parts

Ender IO shows up in the quest book as a mention inside other quests rather than as a chapter of its own. Here are the chapters where it comes up, in the order you'll meet them.[7][8][9][10]

    Chapter 1: The Beginning

The first mention is in a quest in "Chapter 1: The Beginning", which comes after "Redstone" quest. It asks you to get any one of Basic Universal Cable, Energy Pipe or Energy Cable (Basic) so you can move power out of your generators. The text says that if you want a throwback, this pack has EnderIO and you can use its Energy Conduits instead. The task itself doesn't ask for an Ender IO item. After it comes a quest in "Chapter 1: The Beginning", about storing power.[7]

    Chapter 2: Allthemodium

"Piglich Boss" quest asks for a Piglich Heart and comes after the Ancient Pyramid quest. The Piglich is a boss added by Allthemodium, and its heart is needed for alloys and the ATM Star. The quest suggests looking into ways to farm hearts, like with HNN or EnderIO. This chapter has more quests than I can show you here, and the rest are in the quest book.[10]

    Chapter 4: Creative

Ender IO matters here for a quest in "Chapter 4: Creative", which comes after "Runic Enchanter" quest. It asks for Infused Dragon's Breath and a Mending Book, both made through the Runic Enchanter. The quest says Mending Books need an Experience Rod, which needs two alloys from EnderIO: Soularium and Energetic Alloy. Both can be made in an Alloy Smelter.[8]

"Infused Patrick Star" quest comes right after it. It uses those Mending Books and the Infused Dragon's Breath, so the Ender IO alloys feed into it indirectly.[8]

    Basic Logistics

"Laser IO" quest describes LaserIO as DireWolf's continuation of EnderIO's Logistics, all about moving items with lasers. It asks for the Logic Chip, not an Ender IO item. Many of the chapter's other quests (item, fluid, energy and chemical cards, nodes and filters) come after it.[9]

Tip: None of the quests above ask you to hand in an Ender IO item. They only point to it as an option or as a source of alloys.[7][8][9][10]

What changed in Ender IO between versions?

    1 part

All the Mods 10 5.4 ships Ender IO 8.0.7-alpha. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 2.2 or earlier, so it's been around for a long stretch of the pack's history.[11]

Every Ender IO version the pack has shipped is tagged as an alpha build. Keep that in mind if something behaves oddly.[11][12][13][14][15][16]

    Updates across pack releases

    • All the Mods 10 2.31: updated from 7.1.5-alpha to 7.1.6-alpha.[16]
    • All the Mods 10 2.40: updated from 7.1.6-alpha to 7.1.7-alpha.[15]
    • All the Mods 10 2.42: updated from 7.1.7-alpha to 7.1.8-alpha.[14]
    • All the Mods 10 4.12: updated from 7.1.8-alpha to 8.0.4-alpha, the jump from the 7.x line to the 8.x line.[13]
    • All the Mods 10 4.15: updated from 8.0.4-alpha to 8.0.7-alpha. This is the version the pack still ships in 5.4.[11][12]
Tip: If you're coming back to an older world or following an older video, check which side of the All the Mods 10 4.12 update it's from. That's where Ender IO moved from 7.1.8-alpha to 8.0.4-alpha, so things may not match what you see in 5.4, which ships 8.0.7-alpha.[11][13]

Unverified The specific features, fixes or recipe changes in each of these Ender IO versions can't be confirmed here, because no changelogs for the mod's own jars were available. The pack changelogs only record the version numbers.
