What is Ender IO?
2 parts
Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod that covers a lot of ground in one package: machines, conduits, armor, weapons, tools, enchantments and decorative blocks. If you enjoy tech mods, this one gives you plenty to dig into, from processing machines to the conduits you'll use to move things around your base.[1]
Conduits
Conduits are one of the mod's headline features. These are the types the mod lists:[1]
- Item conduits[1]
- Fluid conduits[1]
- Energy conduits[1]
- Redstone conduits[1]
- Applied Energistics 2 ME conduits[1]
- Refined Storage conduits[1]
- Mekanism chemical conduits[1]
Ender IO in this pack
All the Mods 10 5.5 ships Ender IO 8.1.1-beta. The mod has been part of the pack since version 2.25 or earlier.[2]
Unverified The available sources don't cover where Ender IO fits into this pack's progression.
How do you get started with Ender IO?
4 parts
Ender IO is a full tech mod with machines, conduits, armor, tools, weapons, enchantments and decorative blocks. The current version is being rewritten from the ground up for the latest Minecraft, so some features you remember from older packs may not have been ported yet.[1]
Step 1: Make a Basic Capacitor
Ender IO machines won't run without a capacitor installed. If a machine has no capacitor, its screen tells you to insert one, so the Basic Capacitor is the first thing to make.[6][7]

Capacitors are more than an on switch. Their tooltips list modifiers for energy capacity, energy use, fuel efficiency and burning energy generation, so a capacitor changes how a machine behaves.[6]
Step 2: Build the Alloy Smelter
With a capacitor ready, go for the Alloy Smelter. Check the recipe below before you start, because some of its parts have to be crafted first.[7]
Crafting Shaped
| any iron gear | any iron gear | |
| any iron ingot | any obsidian | any iron ingot |
Recipe id: enderio:alloy_smelter
Unverified The Alloy Smelter is the machine that turns base metals into Ender IO's alloys, such as Conductive Alloy and Dark Steel, which later recipes need. These sources don't confirm this, so check the recipe viewer to see which recipes it handles. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Step 3: Power and storage
Ender IO's energy unit is equivalent to FE, so it works with power from other mods in the pack. A machine's status will tell you when it doesn't have enough power to run.[6]
The next goal is a Basic Capacitor Bank. Building one earns you an advancement, and you can later upgrade it into an Advanced Capacitor Bank.[6][7]

Unverified The Capacitor Bank is used to store energy for your machines. These sources don't confirm its capacity or exact behavior.
Step 4: Start on conduits
Conduits are Ender IO's way of moving things around your base. The mod supports item, fluid, energy and redstone conduits, plus conduits for Applied Energistics 2 ME, Refined Storage and Mekanism chemicals.[1]
Conduits are built from Conduit Binder, and that starts with Conduit Binder Composite.[7]

Once your conduits are running, a Basic Item Filter helps you control what goes where. Use it while crouching to configure it.[6][7]
How does Ender IO work?
6 parts
Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod, and its core is built from two big systems: machines that process and generate things, and conduits that move stuff between them. Around those you get armor, tools, weapons, enchantments and decorative blocks. The mod is being rewritten from the ground up for current Minecraft versions, so some features from older versions may not have been ported yet. If you remember something from an old playthrough, it might not be here.[1]
Capacitors: the heart of every machine
Ender IO machines need a capacitor installed before they work. If you open a machine without one, the GUI tells you to insert any capacitor so the machine can work. This is an easy one to miss when a freshly placed machine just sits there doing nothing.[6]
Capacitors aren't just an on switch. Their tooltips list modifiers that change how the machine behaves: an Energy Capacity Modifier, an Energy Use Modifier, a Fuel Efficiency Modifier and a Burning Energy Generation Modifier. Hover over a capacitor to see its values before you slot it in.[6]

Reading machine status
When a machine isn't working, check its status tooltip. It tells you what's wrong, which makes debugging much easier. These are the states you can run into:[6]
- Active: the machine is running.[6]
- Blocked by redstone: a redstone signal is stopping the machine, so check your redstone setup.[6]
- Not enough power: the machine needs more energy to operate.[6]
- Energy storage full: the machine's energy storage is topped off.[6]
- No item in the input: feed it something to process.[6]
- Not enough room for the output: empty the output slots or move the items out.[6]
- No capacitor: install a capacitor to use the machine.[6]
- Drain has no source: the Drain needs a source block under it to work.[6]
Machine notes
The Alloy Smelter is one of the machines you can build in this pack, and its recipe starts from a Void Chassis.[7]

The SAG Mill uses grinding balls. Its output chances are shown as modified by the grinding ball, so you can check what a ball actually does for each recipe.[6]
Photovoltaic cells produce power during daylight hours. They need a clear line of sight to the sky, so don't bury them under a roof.[6]
Capacitor Banks
The pack includes the Basic Capacitor Bank and the Advanced Capacitor Bank. You don't have to throw away a basic bank when you move up a tier. There's an upgrade recipe that turns a basic bank into an advanced one.[7]

Conduits: moving everything around
Conduits are Ender IO's logistics system. The mod lists item, fluid, energy and redstone conduits, plus conduits for Applied Energistics 2 ME networks, Refined Storage and Mekanism chemicals.[1]
Conduit networks update on their own network ticks, and the tooltip tells you how many network ticks happen per second. Item conduits show a raw rate in items per network tick and an effective rate in items per second. Fluid conduits show a raw rate in mB per network tick and an effective rate in mB per tick. The effective rates are the ones to compare when you plan throughput.[6]
Some fluid conduits allow multiple fluids to be transported on the same line, and their tooltip says so. Check for that line before you try to share a single run between different fluids.[6]
The conduit probe can hold copied conduit data, and its tooltip shows when it's carrying some.[6]
Facades let you hide or protect your conduit runs. A hardened facade resists breaking and explosions. A transparent facade hides conduits when it's painted with a translucent block.[6]
This pack adds some extra conduit recipes of its own that use a Conduit Binder together with Applied Energistics 2 cables.[7]

Filters
The pack has the Basic Item Filter, Advanced Item Filter, Basic Fluid Filter and Basic Soul Filter, plus redstone logic filters like the Redstone AND Filter and Redstone NAND Filter.[7]
To set up a filter, use it while crouching. If a filter warns that it uses component matching, which is no longer available for that item, clear it in the crafting grid to remove the warning.[6]

Unverified The sources don't give the actual transfer rates for each conduit tier, the modifier values of each capacitor, how much energy each Capacitor Bank stores, or exactly where each filter type can be installed. Check the in-game tooltips for these details.
How do you progress through Ender IO?
6 parts
There's no quest line for Ender IO in this pack, so this section follows the in-pack recipes instead. They show which pieces unlock which, and that gives you a solid path from your first machine to the higher tiers.[7]
Your first machines
Your early Ender IO machines all share one core component: the Void Chassis. The Alloy Smelter, the Crafter and the Drain each need one, so work out how to make chassis early. The Alloy Smelter is the natural first build because it's the machine the mod is named around.[7]

Capacitor tiers
Capacitors come in tiers, and each tier builds on the one before it. You start with the Basic Capacitor. You then turn it into a Double-Layer Capacitor by adding Energetic Alloy.[7]
- Craft a Basic Capacitor. It is your entry-level capacitor.[7]
- Upgrade to a Double-Layer Capacitor. This recipe uses a Basic Capacitor plus Energetic Alloy, so you need that alloy before you can move up.[7]

What each alloy unlocks
- Conductive Alloy is used for utility gear such as the Conduit Probe, the Coordinate Selector and the Drain.[7]
- Energetic Alloy gates the Double-Layer Capacitor and the Electromagnet. Together with Soularium, it also goes into the obelisks.[7]
- Vibrant Alloy is what you need for the ender energy and ender fluid conduits.[7]
- Dark Steel unlocks the Enchanter, the Cold Fire Igniter, the sword The Ender and building blocks like Dark Steel Bars and Dark Steel Door.[7]
- End Steel has its own blocks and parts, including End Steel Bars and the End Steel Grinding Ball.[7]

What the pack changed
All the Mods 10 adds its own recipes that turn AE2 cables (covered, dense covered and glass) into Ender IO conduits using a Conduit Binder. That makes it easy to link Ender IO into an existing AE2 network.[7]

The pack also changed the decompression recipes for compressed Ender IO alloy blocks. That covers Conductive, Energetic, Vibrant, Pulsating and Redstone Alloy, Dark Steel, End Steel and Soularium, so compressed storage turns back into normal blocks like Vibrant Alloy Block. The recipe for "Enderios" is also changed by the pack.[7]

Unverified The recipes shown here don't say how the Void Chassis, the Ensouled Chassis, the Conduit Binder or the alloy ingots themselves are made. The Alloy Smelter is likely involved, but check in-game with a recipe viewer before planning around it. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How does Ender IO work with other mods?
5 parts
Ender IO doesn't sit on its own in this pack. Its alloys, conduit parts and soul items show up in recipes from quite a few other mods, and most of those recipes were added or changed by the pack itself. Here's where you'll run into them.[7]
Mekanism: turning tubes into conduits
Ender IO conduits come in several types, and one of them carries Mekanism chemicals. That makes Mekanism one of the mod's closest partners.[1]
If you have Mekanism running, the pack adds a whole set of conduit recipes built around its transport blocks and alloys. There is one for the Basic Pressurized Tube, the Advanced Pressurized Tube, the Elite Pressurized Tube and the Advanced Thermodynamic Conductor, plus upgrade recipes involving Infused Alloy and Reinforced Alloy. Keep some Conduit Binder handy, and the recipe blocks below show exactly what each one takes.[7]

Farming Ender IO materials
You don't have to run alloy smelters for everything. The pack changed Mystical Agriculture's essence recipes for Ender IO materials, so you can farm your way to ingots like Dark Steel Ingot, End Steel Ingot, Soularium Ingot and Vibrant Alloy Ingot, and to Grains of Infinity as well.[7]

Endgame: runic machines and Modularium
Later on, Ender IO parts feed into the pack's custom Modern Industrialization machines. The Z-Logic Controller is used in the pack's Automatic Hephaestus Forge recipes for the Runic Enchanter, the Runic Crucible, the Runic Star Altar and the Automatic Hephaestus Forge itself.[7]
A Sentient Ender and a Z-Logic Controller also appear in the forge recipe for Runic Attuned Arcane Crystal.[7]
End Steel Ingot is used in three forge recipes for Modularium. Each of those recipes pairs it with a different Allthemodium ingot.[7]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Ender IO?
4 parts
EnderIO doesn't have a chapter of its own in the quest book. It comes up in the text of a few quests spread over four chapters, so here they are in the order you'd meet them.[8][9][10][11]
Chapter 1: The Beginning
Your first EnderIO mention is a quest in "Chapter 1: The Beginning". It follows "Redstone" quest and is about getting power out of your generators. The quest suggests Energy Pipez from Pipez or the Powah Energy Cables, and adds that this pack has EnderIO, so you can use its Energy Conduits as a throwback. You only need to make one of the cables or pipes listed to complete it.[8]
a quest in "Chapter 1: The Beginning" comes straight after it and is about storing that power.[8]
Chapter 2: Allthemodium
In "Piglich Boss" quest the quest tells you to look into ways of farming the Piglich Heart, with HNN or EnderIO as examples. The hearts are needed for alloys and the ATM Star. The quest comes after a quest called Ancient Pyramid.[11]
This chapter has 54 quests, and 30 of them are not shown in my sources. Check the quest book for those, since I can't say whether they mention EnderIO.[11]
Basic Logistics
"Laser IO" quest describes LaserIO as DireWolf's continuation of EnderIO's logistics. It starts you on the Logic Chip. Most of the other LaserIO quests in the chapter come after it, such as "Item Card" quest, "Fluid Card" quest, "Energy Card" quest and a quest in "Basic Logistics".[10]
Chapter 4: Creative
The most hands-on EnderIO use is in a quest in "Chapter 4: Creative", which comes after "Runic Enchanter" quest. Mending Books made with the Runic Enchanter need an Experience Rod, and the quest says that rod needs two EnderIO alloys, Soularium and Energetic Alloy. Both can be made in an Alloy Smelter.[9]
"Infused Patrick Star" quest comes next. It uses those Mending Books and the Infused Dragon's Breath.[9]
What changed in Ender IO between versions?
1 part
All the Mods 10 5.5 ships Ender IO 8.1.1-beta, in the file enderio-8.1.1-beta.jar. Ender IO has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 2.2 or earlier, so it has been through quite a few updates.[2]
Pack updates to Ender IO
Here's every Ender IO version bump recorded in the pack changelogs, oldest first:[12][13][14][15][16][17]
- All the Mods 10 2.31: updated from 7.1.5-alpha to 7.1.6-alpha.[17]
- All the Mods 10 2.40: updated from 7.1.6-alpha to 7.1.7-alpha.[16]
- All the Mods 10 2.42: updated from 7.1.7-alpha to 7.1.8-alpha.[15]
- All the Mods 10 4.12: updated from 7.1.8-alpha to 8.0.4-alpha. This was the jump from the 7.x line to the 8.x line.[14]
- All the Mods 10 4.15: updated from 8.0.4-alpha to 8.0.7-alpha.[13]
- All the Mods 10 5.5: updated from 8.0.7-alpha to 8.1.1-beta. This moved the pack off the alpha builds and onto a beta build.[12]
Unverified The pack changelogs only record version numbers. They don't say what changed inside Ender IO in each update, such as new features, recipe changes or bug fixes, and no mod changelogs were available to confirm those details.
