KubeJS is a mod in All the Mods 10 8.3, where it is version 2101.7.2-build.374. Edit recipes, add new custom items, script world events, all in JavaScript! (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is KubeJS?

2 parts

This pack ships KubeJS 2101.7.2. It has been in the pack since version 2.25 or earlier. For you as a player, KubeJS mostly shows up as a set of custom items that the pack's quests rely on, so here is where you'll meet them.[1]

Custom items you will meet

ATM Star shards

The five ATM Star shard items, Atm Star Shard 1 through Atm Star Shard 5, are also registered under kubejs. Each is the task of one quest in Chapter 4: Creative, and each quest comes after a different quest in that chapter.[6]

How do you get started with KubeJS?

4 parts

KubeJS is the scripting side of the pack, so what you actually meet are the items, recipes and Ponder scenes it adds. The recipes here are shaped crafts added by the pack, and the quest book points you at these items in several chapters. Here is a sensible order to tackle them, going by what the quests and recipes depend on.[7][8]

Infinity cells: the sink in cell form

The quest "More Resources than you ever need: Infinity Cells" quest introduces Infinity Cells, which give you a limitless supply of one resource such as water, cobblestone or lava. The pack adds a whole family of them as KubeJS items, like Dirt Cell, Lava Cell and Moss Cell. Handing in any one cell from the list finishes that quest.[2][7]

Start with the chain that builds on itself. Gravel Cell is crafted from an infinity cobblestone cell plus a Crusher, and Sand Cell is then crafted from the gravel cell plus a Crusher. Make them in that order.[7]

Most of the other cells, like Lava Cell, have their own pack-added recipes, so check each one before you plan a build.[7]

Magical Soil for the top-tier seeds

If you're going for Mystical Agriculture, Magical Soil is the next thing to know. The quests say Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium seeds need Magical Soil placed below them to grow. The recipe is added by the pack.[3][7]

Liquid Aureal and Liquid Souls

In the Forbidden and Arcanus chapter, Liquid Aureal Bucket comes first. The quest says the Runic Crucible makes 250mB of Liquid Aureal from 250mB of Water and 2 Arcane Crystal Dust, and you need 1,000 Liquefied Source to get it started.[4]

After that, Liquid Souls Bucket ("Liquid Souls" quest) combines 500mB of Unrefined Liquid Souls with a single Soul to make 500mB of Liquid Souls. It needs 2,000 Liquefied Source, twice what the Aureal needs.[4]

Later goals

The five ATM Star shards, Atm Star Shard 1 through Atm Star Shard 5, are quest items in the Creative chapter. Each one comes after a different prerequisite quest: Soul Binding Crystal, Whirlwind Prism, Smelter Prism, Sea Prism and Terrastomp Prism, in shard order.[6]

There's also Starlight Prediction, which the Hostile Neural Networks quest says makes various Starlight Materials. It comes after the Simulating Deaths quest.[5]

Tip: The pack also adds Ponder scenes for Mekanism multiblocks: the Fission Reactor, Fusion Reactor, Induction Matrix, SPS and Industrial Turbine. Use them when you build those.[8]

How does KubeJS work?

7 parts

KubeJS is a scripting mod, so it doesn't bring machines of its own. In this pack, the sources show it doing two things: it supplies the in-game Ponder explanations for several Mekanism multiblocks, and it registers a handful of items that pack recipes use. This section walks through both.[7][8]

Unverified The pack's KubeJS scripts and any KubeJS config are not shown in the sources here, so how the scripts are loaded or changed is unverified.

Fission reactor

The Ponder scene says the edge of the reactor must be casings and the walls must be casings or glass. Inside, you build fuel rods out of Fission Fuel Assembly blocks and put a Control Rod Assembly on top of each rod.[8]

  • Control Rod Assembly blocks sit 1 block from the ceiling.[8]
  • Fuel rods cannot touch each other. If you build several, a checkerboard pattern works best.[8]
  • The reactor needs at least 4 ports. You can change what a port does with a Configurator, and one of the options is outputting heated coolant.[8]

Logic Adapters give you redstone control. Right-click one to open its settings. With two of them you can build a fail-safe: set one to Activation and the other to Damage Critical. When the reactor reaches critical damage it gives off a redstone signal.[8]

The scene's example uses that signal to activate a piston with a piece of gravel or sand on it. The gravel triggers an observer, and that turns the reactor off.[8]

Industrial turbine

The turbine turns heated coolant into power. The edges must be turbine casings. The faces can be casings, structural glass, valves or vents. Valves pump in steam or export power.[8]

  1. Put the turbine rotors in the middle. Each rotor uses 2 turbine blades.[8]
  2. Place a Rotational Complex on top of the rotor.[8]
  3. Fill the layer around the Rotational Complex with Pressure Dispersers.[8]
  4. From that layer up, you can use Turbine Vents on the outer faces. They also export water from the turbine.[8]
  5. Put Electromagnetic Coils on top of the Rotational Complex.[8]

Saturating Condensers turn steam back into water. They're optional, but they must be on or above the coil layer. You can place a max of 5, and they must connect to each other or touch the Rotational Complex. The top face can be swapped for turbine vents if you need that.[8]

Induction matrix

The Induction Matrix stores a huge amount of power. Its edges must be casings, and its faces can be casings or structural glass. Ports transfer power, and you can change them with a configurator.[8]

Induction Cells increase storage and Induction Providers increase the transfer rate. The matrix must have at least one cell and one provider.[8]

Fusion reactor

The fusion reactor can generate millions of RF per tick. You build it with a set pattern on each face, and the controller must go in the middle of the top face. You need a port for exporting power and two ports for inputting deuterium. Ports can be changed with a configurator.[8]

To start it up you need three things. First, put a Hohlraum filled with D-T fuel in the controller. Second, shoot 400MRF using lasers into the Laser Matrix, with the Laser Amplifier's red face pointing at the matrix. Third, give the reactor fuel. When the fuels are pumped in separately, the reactor mixes the D-T fuel at a set rate.[8]

Supercritical Phase Shifter (SPS)

The SPS converts polonium into antimatter gas using a large amount of power. Like the other multiblocks, it's built with a set pattern on each face and its ports are changed with a configurator.[8]

  • On one side, put a port in the middle to input power. On the inside, place a Supercharged Coil on that port.[8]
  • You can use multiple Supercharged Coils for higher power usage.[8]
  • You need one port for inputting polonium and another for exporting antimatter.[8]

Ore processing with KubeJS items

The pack adds Mekanism machine processing chains for azure silver and crimson iron, and the intermediate items are KubeJS items. The azure silver chain is laid out below. The crimson iron recipes visible in the dump follow the same pattern for clumps, crystals, dirty dust and shards.[7]

  1. Dissolution turns ore, raw ore or a raw block into dirty azure silver slurry.[7]
  2. Washing turns the dirty slurry into clean azure silver slurry.[7]
  3. Crystallizing turns the clean slurry into Azure Silver Crystal.[7]
  4. Injecting turns the crystal into Azure Silver Shard.[7]
  5. Purifying turns a shard into Azure Silver Clump.[7]
  6. Crushing turns the clump into Azure Silver Dirty Dust.[7]

There are shortcuts too. Injecting accepts ore, raw ore or a raw block directly and gives a shard. Purifying accepts ore, raw ore, a raw block or a shard and gives a clump. Crimson iron has the same entry points, producing Crimson Iron Shard, Crimson Iron Clump, Crimson Iron Crystal and Crimson Iron Dirty Dust.[7]

How do you progress through KubeJS?

5 parts

In this pack, KubeJS shows up as custom items and recipes that quests in other chapters ask you to make. Here is where those pieces land on your progression path, grouped by the quest chapter that puts them in front of you.[2][3][4][6][7]

ATM Star shards

The Creative chapter has five quests, one for each part of the ATM Star. Each one asks you to hand in a numbered KubeJS shard, and each comes after a different Forbidden & Arcanus prism or crystal quest.[6]

  1. "Top ATM Star part" quest (Top part, 1/5) wants Atm Star Shard 1 and comes after the Soul Binding Crystal quest.[6]
  2. "Right ATM Star part" quest (Right part, 2/5) wants Atm Star Shard 2 and comes after the Whirlwind Prism quest.[6]
  3. "Bottom Right ATM Star part" quest (Bottom Right part, 3/5) wants Atm Star Shard 3 and comes after the Smelter Prism quest.[6]
  4. "Bottom Left ATM Star part" quest (Bottom Left part, 4/5) wants Atm Star Shard 4 and comes after the Sea Prism quest.[6]
  5. "Left ATM Star part" quest (Left part, 5/5) wants Atm Star Shard 5 and comes after the Terrastomp Prism quest.[6]

All five shards are made in the Star Altar from Modern Industrialization, using recipes the pack added. Here is each one, in the same order as the quests above.[7]

Liquid Aureal and Liquid Souls

The Forbidden & Arcanus chapter has two quests for KubeJS fluid buckets. "Liquid Aureal" quest has you make Liquid Aureal Bucket in the Runic Crucible, and the quest warns you need 1,000 Liquefied Source to get it started.[4]

"Liquid Souls" quest is the step up: Liquid Souls Bucket needs twice the Liquefied Source of the Liquid Aureal, at 2,000. It comes after the Unrefined Liquid Souls, Automatic Souls and Runic Crucible quests, so plan your source supply before you start.[4]

Magical Soil for the top seeds

In the Mystical Agriculture chapter, the Magical-tier quests for Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium seeds each also ask for Magical Soil. The quest text says these seeds need Magical Soil placed below them in order to grow. All three come after the Insanium Farmland and Infusion Altar quests: a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" (Allthemodium), a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" (Vibranium) and a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" (Unobtainium).[3]

The pack gives you two ways to get Magical Soil, both added by the pack: a shaped crafting recipe and an infusion recipe.[7]

Infinity Cells

"More Resources than you ever need: Infinity Cells" quest is the Infinity Cells quest in the Extended & Advanced AE chapter. It accepts any one of a long list of cells, including KubeJS cells like Lava Cell, Dirt Cell and Sky Stone Cell, plus the ExtendedAE water and cobblestone infinity cells. The quest describes them as giving a limitless supply of one resource.[2]

The KubeJS cells all have recipes added by the pack. A couple of them chain together, so it pays to do them in order: the gravel cell recipe uses the ExtendedAE infinity cobblestone cell, and the sand cell recipe uses the gravel cell.[7]

Other pack-added pieces

a quest in "Hostile Neural Networks" in the Hostile Neural Networks chapter asks for Starlight Prediction, which the quest says makes various Starlight Materials. It comes after the Simulating Deaths quest.[5]

The pack also adds a Modern Industrialization crafting recipe for Allthemodium Drill Head, built from the KubeJS parts Allthemodium Bolt and Allthemodium Curved Plate.[7]

How does KubeJS work with other mods?

7 parts

In this pack, KubeJS is the glue between mods. Many of its items and recipes sit between other mods' items. Here are the main connections, all taken from recipes the pack adds and from its quests.[7]

Applied Energistics 2 and its add-ons

The big one is the Universal Press. The pack crafts it from the Applied Energistics 2 inscriber presses (calculation, engineering, logic and silicon), a slime ball and a sky steel ingot.[7]

After that, the inscriber uses this one press to make printed circuits from several different mods. That includes the base AE2 circuits such as Printed Logic Circuit and Printed Silicon, plus Printed Concurrent Circuit, Printed Accumulation Circuit, Printed Energy Circuit and Printed Quantum Circuit. So you don't need a separate press for each add-on.[7]

Infinity cells

The pack adds a whole family of infinity cells, such as Dirt Cell, Andesite Cell and End Stone Cell. Their recipes pull in items from AE2, MEGA Cells, Allthemodium and All the Compressed, and the dirt cell is shown below. The quest "More Resources than you ever need: Infinity Cells" quest lists them, along with ExtendedAE's own infinity cells.[2][7]

Mystical Agriculture

Magical Soil is crafted from a mix of items from several mods, including Insanium blocks from Mystical Agradditions, compressed blocks and a Piglich Heart.[7]

Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium seeds need Magical Soil placed below them to grow, and the quests a quest in "Mystical Agriculture", a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" and a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" say so. The pack also adds Immersive Engineering Garden Cloche recipes that turn those seeds into essence on Magical Soil.[3][7]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use KubeJS?

5 parts

The KubeJS items in this pack show up as quest tasks in five chapters. Nothing here is a mod you install and use on its own. The quests ask you to get items that the pack's scripts add. Here they are by chapter, with the prerequisites each quest lists.[2][3][4][5][6]

Chapter 4: Creative

This chapter has five ATM Star part quests. Each one asks you to hand in a single shard item, and they are numbered 1/5 to 5/5. Each quest unlocks after a different earlier quest, so you can see which prerequisite leads to which shard.[6]

  1. "Top ATM Star part" quest (1/5) asks for Atm Star Shard 1 and comes after Soul Binding Crystal.[6]
  2. "Right ATM Star part" quest (2/5) asks for Atm Star Shard 2 and comes after Whirlwind Prism.[6]
  3. "Bottom Right ATM Star part" quest (3/5) asks for Atm Star Shard 3 and comes after Smelter Prism.[6]
  4. "Bottom Left ATM Star part" quest (4/5) asks for Atm Star Shard 4 and comes after Sea Prism.[6]
  5. "Left ATM Star part" quest (5/5) asks for Atm Star Shard 5 and comes after Terrastomp Prism.[6]

Mystical Agriculture

Three Magical-tier quests ask for a seed plus Magical Soil: a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" for Allthemodium Seeds, a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" for Vibranium Seeds, and a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" for Unobtainium Seeds. All three unlock after Insanium Farmland and Infusion Altar.[3]

Tip: The quest text says these seeds need Magical Soil placed below them in order to grow, so get the soil before you plant.[3]

Forbidden & Arcanus

Two quests ask for fluid buckets. "Liquid Aureal" quest wants Liquid Aureal Bucket and comes after Runic Crucible, Automating Arcane Crystals and Infinite Water!!!. Per the quest text, you make 250mB of Liquid Aureal in the Runic Crucible from 250mB of Water and 2 Arcane Crystal Dust, and you need 1,000 Liquefied Source to get it started.[4]

"Liquid Souls" quest wants Liquid Souls Bucket and comes after Unrefined Liquid Souls, Automatic Souls and Runic Crucible. You combine 500mB of Unrefined Liquid Souls with a single Soul to get 500mB of Liquid Souls. The quest text says this needs twice the Liquefied Source that Liquid Aureal needs, at 2,000.[4]

Extended & Advanced AE

"More Resources than you ever need: Infinity Cells" quest is about Infinity Cells, described as the Sink in cell form. The task is satisfied by any one cell from a long list. It includes pack cells like Lava Cell, Dirt Cell, Sand Cell and Sky Stone Cell, plus the ExtendedAE infinity water and infinity cobblestone cells. The quest text explains that Infinity Cells give a limitless supply of one resource. It unlocks after one earlier quest in the same chapter.[2]

Hostile Neural Networks

a quest in "Hostile Neural Networks" asks for Starlight Prediction, described as making various Starlight Materials. It comes after the Simulating Deaths quest.[5]

What changed in KubeJS between versions?

The pack's mod list says KubeJS was first included in All the Mods 10 2.25 or earlier. All the Mods 10 8.1 ships it on the 2101.7.2 line.[1]

The pack changelogs only record version bumps for KubeJS. Here is the update path since 5.1:[9][10][11][12][13]

  • All the Mods 10 5.1: moved KubeJS from the 2101.7.1 line to the 2101.7.2 line, the only release in this list that changed lines.[13]
  • All the Mods 10 5.2: updated to a newer build on the 2101.7.2 line.[12]
  • All the Mods 10 5.3: updated to a newer build on the 2101.7.2 line.[11]
  • All the Mods 10 7.0: updated to a newer build on the 2101.7.2 line.[10]
  • All the Mods 10 8.1: updated to a newer build on the 2101.7.2 line, which is the version you get in this pack release.[1][9]

Unverified The sources here don't say what changed inside KubeJS in any of these builds, such as new features, fixes or script behavior changes. No changelogs are stored for the shipped jars, so check the mod's own release notes before assuming anything about a specific build.
