What is AllTheOres?

1 part

AllTheOres is in this pack at version 3.1.4. You'll run into its materials all over the quest book: raw metals, ingots and gems like Raw Osmium, Steel Ingot, Uranium Ingot, Silver Ingot, Sulfur and Fluorite. Other mods' quest chapters ask you for these items.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]

This mod matters to you whether you're building tech or magic. Its items show up in Mekanism, Extreme Reactors, Occultism and Steam Age quests, so almost every playstyle depends on it at some point.[2][4][6][7]

Where it fits in the pack's progression

Tip: Steel Ingot is requested in the Steam Age, Mekanism and Star quest chapters. Getting a steel supply going early will pay off across several questlines.[2][3][7]

Unverified The sources don't cover how this mod's ores generate in the world or how its materials are processed and crafted, so those details are left out here.

How do you get started with AllTheOres?

5 parts

AllTheOres items turn up all over this pack's quest book. The Mekanism, Steam Age, Occultism, Extreme Reactors, Mekanism reactors and The Star chapters all ask for them, so a handful are worth grabbing early. Here's a sensible order, starting with what you can make in a plain furnace.[2][3][4][5][6][7]

Osmium: furnace-friendly and quest-ready

Osmium is an easy first win. The Mekanism chapter starts by asking for Raw Osmium in a quest in "?", then for an Osmium Ingot in a quest in "?". Raw osmium smelts straight into an ingot in a regular furnace, and there's a blast furnace version too.[2][8]

Sulfur and Fluorite: just a hammer

You'll need Sulfur for the Mekanism quests a quest in "?" and a quest in "?", and Fluorite follows right after in a quest in "?". Both have simple crafting-grid recipes that use an ore hammer on the ore. Sulfur ore can also go straight into a furnace.[2][5][8]

Steel: the one everybody wants

Steel Ingot is requested in three separate chapters: Steam Age in a quest in "?", The Star in a quest in "?" and Mekanism in a quest in "?". That's reason enough to set up steel early. You can make it in an Ender IO Alloy Smelter or with Immersive Engineering's alloy recipe.[2][3][7][8]

How does AllTheOres work?

2 parts

The available information on AllTheOres in this pack doesn't describe any machines, multiblocks, power systems or automation of its own. What it does show is that the mod registers processing chemicals, and that its storage blocks connect to compressed block chains. Here's what's confirmed.[8][9]

Ore slurries

AllTheOres registers its own slurry chemicals, each in a dirty and a clean form. That fits a typical ore-processing chain where a dirty slurry gets cleaned before you turn it into metal.[9]

  • Aluminum: Dirty Aluminum Slurry and Clean Aluminum Slurry.[9]
  • Iridium: Dirty Iridium Slurry and Clean Iridium Slurry.[9]
  • Platinum: Dirty Platinum Slurry and Clean Platinum Slurry.[9]
  • Uranium: Dirty Uranium Slurry and Clean Uranium Slurry.[9]

Unverified Which machines create, clean or crystallize these slurries in this pack, and at what rates, isn't covered by the available information. Check the in-game recipe viewer for the exact processing steps. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

Compressed storage blocks

Many AllTheOres storage blocks have compressed versions in this pack, and you can turn a compressed block back into the regular one with a shapeless crafting recipe. For example, Aluminum Block 1x breaks back down into Aluminum Block.[8]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: allthecompressed:decompress/aluminum_block_1x

Decompressing back to a regular Aluminum Block

The same decompression works for metal and alloy blocks like Bronze Block, Electrum Block, Enderium Block, Osmium Block and Signalum Block. It also works for gem and mineral blocks such as Ruby Block, Sapphire Block, Peridot Block, Fluorite Block and Salt Block.[8]

Raw ore blocks get the same treatment. For example, Raw Uranium Block 1x crafts back into Raw Uranium Block, and there are matching recipes for raw tin, lead, nickel, silver, zinc, platinum, iridium, osmium and aluminum blocks.[8]

Recipe id: allthecompressed:decompress/raw_uranium_block_1x

Tip: If you've compressed a stockpile of ore or metal blocks for storage, you can always craft them back down when you need the regular block for a recipe.[8]

How do you progress through AllTheOres?

5 parts

AllTheOres doesn't have a questline of its own in this pack. Its materials show up as checkpoints inside other mods' chapters: steel for the steam age and Mekanism, osmium for Mekanism, silver for Occultism, uranium for the reactor chapters, and sulfur and fluorite for Mekanism's chemical side. The sections below follow those quests and show the in-pack recipes for each material.[2][3][4][5][6][7]

Unverified None of the sources define a formal tier system or a required order between these chapters, so treat the groupings below as a quest-based breakdown rather than strict tiers.

Steel: the early workhorse

Steel Ingot is the material you'll be asked for most often. Quest a quest in "?" in the steam age chapter wants it. So does a quest in "?" in the Mekanism chapter and a quest in "?" in the chapter 2 questline.[2][3][7]

You can make steel in an Ender IO alloy smelter or an Immersive Engineering alloy recipe. The pack has also changed Immersive Engineering's own blast furnace and arc furnace steel recipes so they output this Steel Ingot.[8]

Osmium: your Mekanism entry point

The Mekanism chapter starts with quest a quest in "?", which asks for Raw Osmium. That unlocks a quest in "?", where you turn it into Osmium Ingot.[2]

A normal furnace or blast furnace handles raw osmium just fine. If you want more options later, you can run osmium ore through an Ender IO SAG mill for Raw Osmium, or use the Immersive Engineering arc furnace. The pack has changed the arc furnace recipe for raw osmium.[8]

Silver: Occultism's rituals

Occultism uses silver at two points. Quest a quest in "?" asks for Raw Silver next to a bound foliot book. Later, a quest in "?" asks for a Silver Ingot alongside a bound djinni book.[6]

Raw silver smelts straight into ingots. The pack has also adjusted an Ars Nouveau imbuement recipe that produces Silver Ingots. Further along, Industrial Foregoing's laser drill can pull Raw Silver for you, and that recipe is also changed by the pack.[8]

Here's a handy detail: the pack has changed Extreme Reactors' own yellorium smelting, blasting and block recipes so they all output the AllTheOres Uranium Ingot. That means you only ever need to stockpile one uranium item.[8]

Sulfur and fluorite: Mekanism chemistry

In the Mekanism chapter, quest a quest in "?" pairs Sulfur with the Chemical Oxidizer. In the Mekanism reactors chapter, a quest in "?" asks for sulfur. It then leads into a quest in "?", which wants Fluorite together with the Chemical Dissolution Chamber.[2][5]

Sulfur is easy to come by. You can smelt sulfur ore, and the pack adds its own Mekanism enriching recipe for it. The pack also adds an Ender IO SAG milling recipe that gives sulfur along with coal dust, and it has changed several Immersive Engineering crusher recipes so they give sulfur as a side output.[8]

Tip: Lots of machines in this pack end up giving you the same AllTheOres ingots, so you can process ore with whichever setup you already have instead of building a new line for each mod.[8]

How does AllTheOres work with other mods?

4 parts

AllTheOres works as the shared metal library for the pack, so its ores, ingots and blocks turn up in machines, compression recipes and quest chapters from lots of other mods. Here's where the two sides meet.[2][8]

Mekanism ore processing

AllTheOres ships its own Mekanism processing recipes, so its metals slot straight into Mekanism's ore multiplication chain. Purifying recipes turn ores, raw materials, raw storage blocks and shards into clumps such as Aluminum Clump, Iridium Clump, Nickel Clump and Platinum Clump.[8]

Injecting recipes turn ores, raw materials and raw storage blocks into shards like Aluminum Shard, Iridium Shard, Nickel Shard and Platinum Shard. Dissolution recipes turn ores, raw materials and raw storage blocks into dirty slurries for aluminum, copper, gold, iridium, iron, lead, nickel and osmium.[8]

All the Compressed

All the Compressed builds its first compression tier on top of AllTheOres storage blocks. Every 1x block, from Steel Block 1x to Raw Osmium Block 1x, decompresses back into the matching AllTheOres block, such as Steel Block or Raw Osmium Block. For example, Salt Block and Sapphire Block compress into their 1x versions.[8]

Tip: Steel shows up in three different chapters, so an early Steel Ingot supply pays off across the Mekanism, Steam Age and Chapter 2 quest lines.[2][3][7]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use AllTheOres?

5 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.29 guide

AllTheOres doesn't get its own quest chapter in this pack. Its ores, ingots and gems appear as tasks in six other chapters. Here's what each one asks for and, where the quest book links quests together, the order you'll do them in.[10][11][12][13][14][15]

Mekanism

The Mekanism chapter uses AllTheOres materials the most. Osmium comes first: collect some Raw Osmium, then smelt it into an Osmium Ingot to unlock the next quest.[10]

  1. a quest in "?" asks for Raw Osmium.[10]
  2. a quest in "?" asks for an Osmium Ingot and unlocks after the raw osmium quest.[10]

Later in the chapter, a quest in "?" asks for a Steel Ingot. a quest in "?" asks for a Chemical Oxidizer together with Sulfur. Both of these unlock from quests outside this mod's material.[10]

Mekanism Reactors

  1. a quest in "?" asks for Sulfur.[13]
  2. a quest in "?" comes right after it and asks for Fluorite plus a Chemical Dissolution Chamber.[13]

Extreme Reactors

This chapter uses uranium. a quest in "?" asks for an Uranium Ingot. a quest in "?" asks for 4 uranium ingots and unlocks from a quest outside this mod's material.[12]

Occultism

Silver is the AllTheOres material in the Occultism chapter. a quest in "?" asks for Soul Sand, a Diamond, a Copper Ingot, a Silver Ingot and an Book of Binding: Djinni (Bound).[14]

a quest in "?" asks for an Book of Binding: Foliot (Bound) along with Raw Iron, Raw Gold, Raw Copper and Raw Silver. It needs several earlier quests from that chapter to be done first.[14]

Steam Age and chapter_2_the_star

Steel shows up in the steam_age chapter too, where a quest in "?" asks for a Steel Ingot.[15]

The chapter_2_the_star chapter has two quests that use this mod: a quest in "?" asks for an Uranium Ingot and a quest in "?" asks for a Steel Ingot. The quest data doesn't link these two quests to each other.[11]

Tip: Steel and uranium each count toward more than one chapter. Steel ingots are asked for in the Mekanism, steam_age and chapter_2_the_star chapters, and uranium ingots in Extreme Reactors and chapter_2_the_star, so keeping a few spares lets you finish those quests as soon as they unlock.[10][11][12][15]

Unverified The sources don't say which chapter you're meant to do first, so the order between chapters isn't covered here.
