What is AllTheOres?

1 part

This pack includes AllTheOres at version 2.3.6. Its ores and materials are woven through several other mods' quest chapters, so you'll meet its items naturally as you move through the pack's tech and magic content.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

The items the quests ask for are Raw Osmium, Osmium Ingot, Steel Ingot, Sulfur, Fluorite, Uranium Ingot, Raw Silver and Silver Ingot. If you stockpile these early, you'll be ready for a lot of later quests.[2][3][4][5][6][7]

Where it shows up in the quests

Unverified Details about how AllTheOres generates its ores in the world, and exactly how you process them into ingots in this pack, are not confirmed here.

How do you get started with AllTheOres?

5 parts

AllTheOres supplies many of the ingots and dusts this pack runs on, and you'll see its items in quest chapters all over the book. The quests are the clearest guide to what to grab first, so this section follows them: Osmium and Steel early on, then Silver, Uranium, Sulfur and Fluorite as you move into Occultism, reactors and Mekanism's chemistry.[2][3][4][5][6][7]

Step 1: Osmium

The Mekanism chapter starts by asking for Raw Osmium in a quest in "?". Right after that, a quest in "?" asks for an Osmium Ingot. So your first job is to mine some Osmium and turn it into ingots.[2]

This pack has changed the AllTheOres furnace and blast furnace recipes for Osmium Ingots. Check the in-pack versions below instead of relying on what you remember from other packs.[8]

Step 2: Steel

The Steel Ingot is one of the most requested items in the book. The Steam Age chapter asks for it in a quest in "?", chapter 2 asks for it in a quest in "?", and the Mekanism chapter asks for it in a quest in "?". That makes it worth setting up a Steel supply early.[2][6][7]

One route is Immersive Engineering's Blast Furnace. The pack has changed this recipe so it outputs the AllTheOres Steel Ingot.[8]

Step 3: Silver for Occultism

If you're heading into Occultism, a quest in "?" asks for Raw Silver alongside other raw ores. Later, a quest in "?" asks for a Silver Ingot. Keep some raw Silver aside and smelt the rest.[5]

Step 4: Uranium for reactors

The Extreme Reactors chapter opens with a quest in "?", which asks for an Uranium Ingot. a quest in "?" later wants 4 of them. Chapter 2 also asks for one in a quest in "?".[3][7]

Tip: This pack has changed the Extreme Reactors Yellorium smelting and blasting recipes so they give the AllTheOres Uranium Ingot. Both kinds of ore feed the same ingot.[8]

Step 5: Sulfur and Fluorite

Once you reach Mekanism's chemistry, a quest in "?" pairs Sulfur with a Chemical Oxidizer. In the Mekanism reactors chapter, a quest in "?" asks for Sulfur, and a quest in "?" follows with Fluorite and a Chemical Dissolution Chamber.[2][4]

The pack adds an Enrichment Chamber recipe for Sulfur ore. It also adds a SAG Mill recipe that gives Sulfur together with Coal Dust.[8]

How does AllTheOres work?

2 parts

AllTheOres doesn't give you a big machine to build. Its deeper systems show up in two places in this pack: a set of chemical slurries for a few metals, and crafting recipes that turn compressed storage blocks back into the mod's regular blocks. Here's what each one covers.[8][9]

Ore slurries

The mod registers slurry chemicals in two forms, dirty and clean, for four metals: aluminum, iridium, platinum and uranium. Each metal has both versions.[9]

  • Aluminum: Dirty Aluminum Slurry and Clean Aluminum Slurry.[9]
  • Iridium: Dirty Iridium Slurry and Clean Iridium Slurry.[9]
  • Platinum: Dirty Platinum Slurry and Clean Platinum Slurry.[9]
  • Uranium: Dirty Uranium Slurry and Clean Uranium Slurry.[9]

Unverified The names suggest a processing chain where dirty slurry is washed into clean slurry and then turned into metal, but how these slurries are made and used in this pack, which machines handle them, and what they yield could not be confirmed.

Decompressing storage blocks

If you've been compressing your storage, this pack gives you a simple way back. A shapeless crafting recipe turns each compressed "1x" block back into the normal AllTheOres block. For example, Aluminum Block 1x crafts back into a Aluminum Block.[8]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: allthecompressed:decompress/aluminum_block_1x

Example: compressed aluminum back to a normal Aluminum Block

The same kind of recipe exists for plenty of the mod's storage blocks, including Brass Block, Bronze Block, Constantan Block, Electrum Block, Enderium Block, Invar Block, Lumium Block, Signalum Block, Lead Block, Nickel Block, Osmium Block, Platinum Block and Iridium Block.[8]

Gem and mineral blocks work the same way: Ruby Block, Sapphire Block, Peridot Block, Fluorite Block, Cinnabar Block and Salt Block all have a decompress recipe.[8]

Raw ore blocks are covered too. You can decompress back to Raw Aluminum Block, Raw Iridium Block, Raw Lead Block, Raw Nickel Block, Raw Osmium Block, Raw Platinum Block, Raw Silver Block, Raw Tin Block, Raw Uranium Block and Raw Zinc Block.[8]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: allthecompressed:decompress/raw_platinum_block_1x

Example: getting a Block of Raw Platinum back out of compressed storage

Tip: These decompress recipes are shapeless, so the layout in the crafting grid doesn't matter. If you need raw blocks for processing, one craft gets you the normal block back from its 1x compressed form.[8]

Unverified Details on how AllTheOres handles ore generation, machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation in this pack could not be confirmed, so they are not covered here.

How do you progress through AllTheOres?

5 parts

In this pack, AllTheOres works as the shared metal and mineral library for everything else. Its items show up as quest tasks in several other mods' chapters, including Mekanism, Mekanism reactors, Extreme Reactors, Occultism and the Steam Age chapter. Many other mods' machines in this pack output AllTheOres items directly. Below, each material is covered in the order the quests ask for it, along with the in-pack ways to make it.[2][3][4][5][6][8]

Steel

Steel Ingot is one of the most requested materials. The Steam Age chapter asks for it in a quest in "?", the Mekanism chapter asks for it in a quest in "?", and another chapter wants it in a quest in "?".[2][6][7]

You have plenty of routes to steel. You can use the Immersive Engineering blast furnace or arc furnace, or the Modern Industrialization blast furnace. You can also smelt MFFS steel compound, or run steel dust through an Ender IO alloy smelter. Steel nuggets and steel storage blocks also craft back into ingots.[8]

Osmium

The Mekanism chapter starts you off with Raw Osmium in a quest in "?". That quest unlocks a quest in "?", which asks for an Osmium Ingot.[2]

Osmium ore, raw osmium and osmium dust can all be smelted or blasted into ingots. The Immersive Engineering arc furnace and the Ender IO alloy smelter can process them too. For extra raw osmium, you can mill osmium ore in an Ender IO SAG mill (which also gives cobblestone), use a Modern Industrialization macerator, or use an Industrial Foregoing ore laser drill with a light gray lens.[8]

Sulfur and fluorite

In the Mekanism chapter, a quest in "?" pairs a Chemical Oxidizer with Sulfur. The Mekanism reactors chapter asks for sulfur again in a quest in "?". That quest leads into a quest in "?", which wants Fluorite together with a Chemical Dissolution Chamber.[2][4]

This pack adds its own recipes for sulfur. You can enrich sulfur ore in a Mekanism Enrichment Chamber, or SAG mill coal in Ender IO to get sulfur plus coal dust. Sulfur also comes from Immersive Engineering crusher byproducts (coal, lapis and quartz ores, plus blaze rods), Mekanism coal gasification, Modern Industrialization lignite processing, and gunpowder injecting. SAG milling raw lead or raw zinc also gives sulfur alongside Lead Dust or Zinc Dust.[8]

Uranium

The Extreme Reactors chapter asks for a Uranium Ingot in a quest in "?", and later for 4 of them in a quest in "?". Another chapter also asks for a uranium ingot in a quest in "?".[3][7]

Tip: In this pack, the Extreme Reactors yellorium recipes are changed so they output AllTheOres Uranium Ingots. Smelting or blasting raw yellorium, or breaking down a yellorium block, gives you the same uranium the quests ask for.[8]

Uranium ore, raw uranium and uranium dust can also be smelted, blasted, alloy smelted in Ender IO, or processed in the Immersive Engineering arc furnace.[8]

Silver

The Occultism chapter uses silver in two quests. a quest in "?" asks for Raw Silver alongside raw iron, gold and copper and a bound foliot book. a quest in "?" asks for a Silver Ingot together with a bound djinni book and some other items.[5]

Silver ore and raw silver smelt or blast into ingots. For more raw silver, you can SAG mill silver ore, macerate raw lead in Modern Industrialization (which gives lead dust plus raw silver), or use an Industrial Foregoing ore laser drill with a gray lens. There is also an Ars Nouveau imbuement recipe that turns a gold ingot into silver.[8]

How does AllTheOres work with other mods?

4 parts

AllTheOres is mostly a materials mod, so its real value shows up when other mods use its ores, ingots and blocks. In this pack its metals feed Mekanism ore processing, its storage blocks work with AllTheCompressed, and its items appear in quests across several chapters.[2][4][5][8]

Mekanism ore processing

AllTheOres adds its own Mekanism processing recipes, so its metals can go through the same multi-step chains as vanilla ores. Aluminum, iridium, nickel, platinum and silver each have three kinds of recipe. Purifying turns ore, raw ore, raw blocks or shards into clumps like the Silver Clump. Injecting turns ore, raw ore, raw blocks or crystals into shards like the Platinum Shard. Dissolution turns ore, raw ore or raw blocks into a dirty slurry.[8]

Zinc only appears with the clump step in these recipes. Ore, raw ore, raw blocks and shards can all be purified into a Zinc Clump.[8]

AllTheCompressed storage blocks

If your storage is filling up with metal and gem blocks, AllTheCompressed can help. Almost every AllTheOres storage block has a 1x compressed version that decompresses back into the original block. That includes metals like the Steel Block, alloys like the Enderium Block, gems like the Ruby Block, and raw blocks like the Raw Osmium Block.[8]

The compression recipes that appear here are for the Salt Block and the Sapphire Block.[8]

Applied Energistics range upgrade

The pack adds its own recipe for the Infinity Range Booster. It is built from an AE2 Wireless Booster plus gears from AllTheOres, so you need some Thermal-style alloy work before your wireless terminal gets unlimited range.[8]

Quests that use AllTheOres items

Tip: Steel Ingot is asked for in three different quest chapters, so it's worth setting up a steady supply early.[2][6][7]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use AllTheOres?

5 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.29 guide

AllTheOres doesn't get its own quest chapter in this pack. Its ores, ingots and gems appear as tasks in six other chapters. Here's what each one asks for and, where the quest book links quests together, the order you'll do them in.[10][11][12][13][14][15]

Mekanism

The Mekanism chapter uses AllTheOres materials the most. Osmium comes first: collect some Raw Osmium, then smelt it into an Osmium Ingot to unlock the next quest.[10]

  1. a quest in "?" asks for Raw Osmium.[10]
  2. a quest in "?" asks for an Osmium Ingot and unlocks after the raw osmium quest.[10]

Later in the chapter, a quest in "?" asks for a Steel Ingot. a quest in "?" asks for a Chemical Oxidizer together with Sulfur. Both of these unlock from quests outside this mod's material.[10]

Mekanism Reactors

  1. a quest in "?" asks for Sulfur.[13]
  2. a quest in "?" comes right after it and asks for Fluorite plus a Chemical Dissolution Chamber.[13]

Extreme Reactors

This chapter uses uranium. a quest in "?" asks for an Uranium Ingot. a quest in "?" asks for 4 uranium ingots and unlocks from a quest outside this mod's material.[12]

Occultism

Silver is the AllTheOres material in the Occultism chapter. a quest in "?" asks for Soul Sand, a Diamond, a Copper Ingot, a Silver Ingot and an Book of Binding: Djinni (Bound).[14]

a quest in "?" asks for an Book of Binding: Foliot (Bound) along with Raw Iron, Raw Gold, Raw Copper and Raw Silver. It needs several earlier quests from that chapter to be done first.[14]

Steam Age and chapter_2_the_star

Steel shows up in the steam_age chapter too, where a quest in "?" asks for a Steel Ingot.[15]

The chapter_2_the_star chapter has two quests that use this mod: a quest in "?" asks for an Uranium Ingot and a quest in "?" asks for a Steel Ingot. The quest data doesn't link these two quests to each other.[11]

Tip: Steel and uranium each count toward more than one chapter. Steel ingots are asked for in the Mekanism, steam_age and chapter_2_the_star chapters, and uranium ingots in Extreme Reactors and chapter_2_the_star, so keeping a few spares lets you finish those quests as soon as they unlock.[10][11][12][15]

Unverified The sources don't say which chapter you're meant to do first, so the order between chapters isn't covered here.
