What is AllTheOres?

1 part

AllTheOres supplies many of the shared metals and materials that other mods in this pack rely on. That includes Osmium Ingot, Silver Ingot, Steel Ingot, Uranium Ingot, Sulfur and Fluorite. This pack runs AllTheOres version 3.0.7.[1][2][3][4][5]

You won't find a quest chapter dedicated to AllTheOres. Instead, its items appear as requirements in other mods' chapters. If you're heading into tech or magic, you'll be handling these materials early and often.[2][4][5][6][7]

Where it shows up in your progression

Tip: Steel Ingots are requested in the Steam Age, Mekanism and Star chapters. Once you can make them, keep a stockpile around.[2][3][7]

Unverified How you obtain these materials (world generation, ore processing, or crafting) and exactly who the mod is aimed at could not be confirmed from the available pack files.

How do you get started with AllTheOres?

5 parts

AllTheOres supplies many of the shared metals and minerals that other mods' quests ask for in this pack. Its items appear as quest goals in several chapters. You'll need Osmium and Steel for the Mekanism chapter, Steel for the steam age, Uranium for reactors, Silver for Occultism, and Sulfur and Fluorite for the Mekanism reactor chapter. Knowing how to turn each ore into something useful early saves a lot of backtracking.[2][3][4][5][6][7]

Osmium: raw ore first, then ingots

The Mekanism chapter starts you on a quest in "?", which just asks you to pick up Raw Osmium. It then moves on to a quest in "?", which asks for an Osmium Ingot. Getting the ingot is simple: smelt the raw osmium in a regular furnace or a blast furnace.[2][8]

Steel Ingots

Steel Ingot is one of the most requested AllTheOres items in the quest book. It shows up in a quest in "?" in the steam age chapter, a quest in "?" in chapter 2, and a quest in "?" in the Mekanism chapter.[2][3][7]

The pack has changed the Immersive Engineering blast furnace recipe so that it outputs the AllTheOres Steel Ingot. If you already have steel dust, you can also smelt it straight into ingots.[8]

Silver for Occultism

If you're heading into Occultism, a quest in "?" asks for Raw Silver along with a few other raw ores. Later, a quest in "?" wants a Silver Ingot. Smelting raw silver into ingots is handled by an Immersive Engineering recipe that the pack has changed to give the AllTheOres Silver Ingot.[5][8]

Sulfur, then Fluorite

In the Mekanism reactors chapter, a quest in "?" asks for Sulfur, and a quest in "?" follows it with Fluorite. The Mekanism chapter's a quest in "?" also asks for Sulfur. The easiest early route for both is to smelt the ore directly.[2][4][8]

Tip: Once you have machines running, Sulfur gets much easier to collect. The pack added an Ender IO SAG mill recipe that gives Sulfur from coal. It also changed several Immersive Engineering crusher recipes, including coal ore, lapis ore, quartz ore and blaze rods, so they produce Sulfur as well.[8]

Uranium for reactors

Uranium Ingot is needed for a quest in "?" and a quest in "?" in the Extreme Reactors chapter, and the second of those asks for 4 ingots. Here's a neat thing about this pack: it has changed the Extreme Reactors recipes so that smelting Raw Yellorium gives you the AllTheOres Uranium Ingot.[6][8]

Chapter 2 has its own Uranium Ingot quest too, a quest in "?", so every ingot you make counts toward more than one goal.[3]

How does AllTheOres work?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.15 guide

The available information on AllTheOres in this pack doesn't describe any machines, multiblocks, power systems or automation of its own. What it does show is that the mod registers processing chemicals, and that its storage blocks connect to compressed block chains. Here's what's confirmed.[9][10]

Ore slurries

AllTheOres registers its own slurry chemicals, each in a dirty and a clean form. That fits a typical ore-processing chain where a dirty slurry gets cleaned before you turn it into metal.[9]

  • Aluminum: Dirty Aluminum Slurry and Clean Aluminum Slurry.[9]
  • Iridium: Dirty Iridium Slurry and Clean Iridium Slurry.[9]
  • Platinum: Dirty Platinum Slurry and Clean Platinum Slurry.[9]
  • Uranium: Dirty Uranium Slurry and Clean Uranium Slurry.[9]

Unverified Which machines create, clean or crystallize these slurries in this pack, and at what rates, isn't covered by the available information. Check the in-game recipe viewer for the exact processing steps. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

Compressed storage blocks

Many AllTheOres storage blocks have compressed versions in this pack, and you can turn a compressed block back into the regular one with a shapeless crafting recipe. For example, Aluminum Block 1x breaks back down into Aluminum Block.[10]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: allthecompressed:decompress/aluminum_block_1x

Decompressing back to a regular Aluminum Block

The same decompression works for metal and alloy blocks like Bronze Block, Electrum Block, Enderium Block, Osmium Block and Signalum Block. It also works for gem and mineral blocks such as Ruby Block, Sapphire Block, Peridot Block, Fluorite Block and Salt Block.[10]

Raw ore blocks get the same treatment. For example, Raw Uranium Block 1x crafts back into Raw Uranium Block, and there are matching recipes for raw tin, lead, nickel, silver, zinc, platinum, iridium, osmium and aluminum blocks.[10]

Recipe id: allthecompressed:decompress/raw_uranium_block_1x

Tip: If you've compressed a stockpile of ore or metal blocks for storage, you can always craft them back down when you need the regular block for a recipe.[10]

How do you progress through AllTheOres?

5 parts

In this pack, AllTheOres items show up as quest goals across several chapters. Your progression with the mod follows those chapters rather than a quest line of its own: you gather the ore, process it, and hand the results to other mods' quests.[2][3][4][5][6][7]

Where the quests ask for AllTheOres items

Smelting and blasting

The simplest route is a furnace or a blast furnace. AllTheOres has its own recipes for turning osmium ore, raw osmium and osmium dust into Osmium Ingot. It does the same for fluorite ore and dust into Fluorite, and for sulfur ore into Sulfur. Silver, steel and uranium dusts also smelt into their ingots.[8]

The pack also changed several other mods' smelting recipes so they output AllTheOres items. For example, silver ore, raw silver and uranium ore all smelt straight into the AllTheOres ingots.[8]

Making steel

Steel can't be smelted from an ore, so you'll need a machine route. The pack changed both the Blast Furnace and Arc Furnace steel recipes to give you Steel Ingot. It also changed the steel compound smelting recipe to produce the same ingot.[8]

Machine processing

Once you have machines, you get more options. The pack added Alloy Smelter versions of the AllTheOres smelting recipes. It also added SAG Mill recipes that give Raw Osmium and Raw Silver from their ores.[8]

The Arc Furnace recipes were changed by the pack too. They now handle raw materials, raw blocks and dusts for osmium, silver and uranium, and output AllTheOres ingots.[8]

How does AllTheOres work with other mods?

4 parts

AllTheOres mostly provides raw materials, so its integrations show up wherever other mods need metals. In this pack that means three things: Mekanism ore processing recipes for AllTheOres metals, AllTheCompressed storage blocks that turn back into AllTheOres blocks, and one pack-added recipe for the Infinity Range Booster that uses AllTheOres gears.[8]

Several quest chapters also ask for AllTheOres items, including Mekanism, Extreme Reactors and Occultism.[2][5][6]

Mekanism ore processing

AllTheOres comes with its own Mekanism processing recipes, so its metals can go through Mekanism's ore processing chain. Dissolution with Liquid Sulfuric Acid turns ores, raw materials or raw storage blocks into dirty slurry. Injecting with Liquid Hydrogen Chloride makes shards such as the Platinum Shard. Purifying with Liquid Oxygen makes clumps such as the Platinum Clump.[8]

Aluminum, iridium, nickel, platinum and silver have dissolution, injecting and purifying recipes in this pack. For lead and osmium, the in-pack recipes listed here cover dirty slurry and turning crystals into shards.[8]

Watch out: The pack has changed the crystal-to-shard injecting recipes for aluminum, iridium, lead, nickel, osmium, platinum and silver. If you know these from another pack, check the in-pack version below rather than relying on memory.[8]

Compressed storage with AllTheCompressed

AllTheCompressed has 1x versions of many AllTheOres storage blocks, and each one decompresses back into the AllTheOres block. This covers metal blocks like Steel Block and Enderium Block, gem blocks like Ruby Block and Peridot Block, and raw ore blocks like Raw Osmium Block and Raw Uranium Block.[8]

The recipes for this section include compress recipes for salt and sapphire.[8]

Applied Energistics range booster

The pack adds its own recipe for the Infinity Range Booster. It is built on the Wireless Booster and also uses AllTheOres gears, so you'll want Enderium and Lumium set up before you go wireless across your base.[8]

Quests that use AllTheOres items

Tip: Steel ingots come up in quests across several chapters, so it pays to get a steady supply going early.[2][3][7]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use AllTheOres?

5 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.29 guide

AllTheOres doesn't get its own quest chapter in this pack. Its ores, ingots and gems appear as tasks in six other chapters. Here's what each one asks for and, where the quest book links quests together, the order you'll do them in.[11][12][13][14][15][16]

Mekanism

The Mekanism chapter uses AllTheOres materials the most. Osmium comes first: collect some Raw Osmium, then smelt it into an Osmium Ingot to unlock the next quest.[11]

  1. a quest in "?" asks for Raw Osmium.[11]
  2. a quest in "?" asks for an Osmium Ingot and unlocks after the raw osmium quest.[11]

Later in the chapter, a quest in "?" asks for a Steel Ingot. a quest in "?" asks for a Chemical Oxidizer together with Sulfur. Both of these unlock from quests outside this mod's material.[11]

Mekanism Reactors

  1. a quest in "?" asks for Sulfur.[14]
  2. a quest in "?" comes right after it and asks for Fluorite plus a Chemical Dissolution Chamber.[14]

Extreme Reactors

This chapter uses uranium. a quest in "?" asks for an Uranium Ingot. a quest in "?" asks for 4 uranium ingots and unlocks from a quest outside this mod's material.[13]

Occultism

Silver is the AllTheOres material in the Occultism chapter. a quest in "?" asks for Soul Sand, a Diamond, a Copper Ingot, a Silver Ingot and an Book of Binding: Djinni (Bound).[15]

a quest in "?" asks for an Book of Binding: Foliot (Bound) along with Raw Iron, Raw Gold, Raw Copper and Raw Silver. It needs several earlier quests from that chapter to be done first.[15]

Steam Age and chapter_2_the_star

Steel shows up in the steam_age chapter too, where a quest in "?" asks for a Steel Ingot.[16]

The chapter_2_the_star chapter has two quests that use this mod: a quest in "?" asks for an Uranium Ingot and a quest in "?" asks for a Steel Ingot. The quest data doesn't link these two quests to each other.[12]

Tip: Steel and uranium each count toward more than one chapter. Steel ingots are asked for in the Mekanism, steam_age and chapter_2_the_star chapters, and uranium ingots in Extreme Reactors and chapter_2_the_star, so keeping a few spares lets you finish those quests as soon as they unlock.[11][12][13][16]

Unverified The sources don't say which chapter you're meant to do first, so the order between chapters isn't covered here.
