What is AllTheOres?

1 part

AllTheOres is the pack's shared supplier of common ores and materials. This pack runs version 3.0.2, and the mod has been part of the pack's lineup since earlier releases.[1]

You'll run into its items all over the quest book. You'll see Raw Osmium, Osmium Ingot, Steel Ingot, Sulfur, Uranium Ingot, Fluorite, Raw Silver and Silver Ingot as quest tasks. Other mods' chapters ask for them, so this mod supplies the raw materials that the tech and magic lines run on.[2][3][4][5][6]

Where it fits in progression

Unverified Details on where these ores generate, at which heights and in which dimensions, and any processing multipliers aren't covered by the pack files available here, so check in-game (for example with JEI) before planning your mining trips. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How do you get started with AllTheOres?

5 parts

AllTheOres doesn't have a quest chapter of its own in this pack. Its ores and ingots show up as tasks across many other chapters instead. The quick way to get started is to know which AllTheOres items the quest book asks for and how the pack lets you make them. Let's go through them one by one.[2][3][4][5][6][7]

Osmium: raw first, then ingots

In the Mekanism chapter, a quest in "?" asks for Raw Osmium. Completing it unlocks a quest in "?", which wants an Osmium Ingot. So mine some osmium, then smelt it.[2]

Steel ingots

Steel Ingot is one of the most requested AllTheOres items. It is a task in the steam_age chapter (a quest in "?"), in chapter_2_the_star (a quest in "?") and in the Mekanism chapter (a quest in "?").[2][3][7]

This pack changed the Immersive Engineering blast furnace steel recipe so that it produces the AllTheOres Steel Ingot. You can also smelt steel dust into ingots in a normal furnace.[8]

Sulfur and fluorite

In the Mekanism chapter, a quest in "?" asks for a Chemical Oxidizer and some Sulfur. In the mekanism_reactors chapter, a quest in "?" wants sulfur too. It unlocks a quest in "?", which asks for Fluorite and a Chemical Dissolution Chamber.[2][5]

  • Smelt or blast sulfur ore directly into Sulfur.[8]
  • Craft sulfur ore together with an ore hammer to get Sulfur without a furnace.[8]
  • This pack added a SAG milling recipe for coal that gives Sulfur along with Coal Dust.[8]
  • In this pack, crushing coal ore in the Immersive Engineering crusher also gives Sulfur as a byproduct.[8]

Uranium

Uranium Ingot is a task in chapter_2_the_star (a quest in "?") and in the extreme_reactors chapter (a quest in "?"). Later in that chapter, a quest in "?" asks for 4 of them.[3][4]

Tip: This pack changed the Extreme Reactors yellorium recipes. Smelting or blasting Raw Yellorium now gives you the AllTheOres Uranium Ingot, and so does breaking down a Yellorium Block. Whichever uranium source you find, it ends up as the same ingot.[8]

Silver

The occultism chapter uses silver twice. a quest in "?" asks for Raw Silver alongside vanilla raw metals, and a quest in "?" asks for a Silver Ingot. In this pack, the Immersive Engineering silver smelting recipes were changed to give the AllTheOres Silver Ingot.[6][8]

How does AllTheOres work?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.15 guide

The available information on AllTheOres in this pack doesn't describe any machines, multiblocks, power systems or automation of its own. What it does show is that the mod registers processing chemicals, and that its storage blocks connect to compressed block chains. Here's what's confirmed.[9][10]

Ore slurries

AllTheOres registers its own slurry chemicals, each in a dirty and a clean form. That fits a typical ore-processing chain where a dirty slurry gets cleaned before you turn it into metal.[9]

  • Aluminum: Dirty Aluminum Slurry and Clean Aluminum Slurry.[9]
  • Iridium: Dirty Iridium Slurry and Clean Iridium Slurry.[9]
  • Platinum: Dirty Platinum Slurry and Clean Platinum Slurry.[9]
  • Uranium: Dirty Uranium Slurry and Clean Uranium Slurry.[9]

Unverified Which machines create, clean or crystallize these slurries in this pack, and at what rates, isn't covered by the available information. Check the in-game recipe viewer for the exact processing steps. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

Compressed storage blocks

Many AllTheOres storage blocks have compressed versions in this pack, and you can turn a compressed block back into the regular one with a shapeless crafting recipe. For example, Aluminum Block 1x breaks back down into Aluminum Block.[10]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: allthecompressed:decompress/aluminum_block_1x

Decompressing back to a regular Aluminum Block

The same decompression works for metal and alloy blocks like Bronze Block, Electrum Block, Enderium Block, Osmium Block and Signalum Block. It also works for gem and mineral blocks such as Ruby Block, Sapphire Block, Peridot Block, Fluorite Block and Salt Block.[10]

Raw ore blocks get the same treatment. For example, Raw Uranium Block 1x crafts back into Raw Uranium Block, and there are matching recipes for raw tin, lead, nickel, silver, zinc, platinum, iridium, osmium and aluminum blocks.[10]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: allthecompressed:decompress/raw_uranium_block_1x

Tip: If you've compressed a stockpile of ore or metal blocks for storage, you can always craft them back down when you need the regular block for a recipe.[10]

How do you progress through AllTheOres?

6 parts

In this pack, AllTheOres materials show up as quest tasks inside other mods' chapters rather than as a progression of their own. You'll need its metals and gems in the Steam Age, Mekanism, Mekanism Reactors, Extreme Reactors and Occultism chapters, plus chapter 2, The Star. So the best way to read the tiers is to follow what each chapter asks for and when.[2][3][4][5][6][7]

Unverified The sources don't show a formal tier system for AllTheOres or a fixed order between these chapters, so the breakdown below groups materials by the quests that use them instead of ranking them.

Steel: your first big alloy

Steel Ingot is the most-requested AllTheOres item in the quests. It's a task in the Steam Age chapter (a quest in "?"), in the Mekanism chapter (a quest in "?") and in chapter 2 (a quest in "?"). Getting a steel line going early pays off across several chapters.[2][3][7]

The pack changed Immersive Engineering's Blast Furnace and Arc Furnace steel recipes so they output the AllTheOres Steel Ingot. It also added an Ender IO Alloy Smelter recipe that turns Steel Compound into steel. Any steel dust also smelts or blasts straight into an ingot.[8]

Osmium: the Mekanism entry point

The Mekanism chapter starts you off with Raw Osmium (a quest in "?"). Next comes Osmium Ingot (a quest in "?"), which unlocks after the raw osmium quest.[2]

Raw osmium smelts or blasts directly into ingots. The pack also added an Ender IO SAG Mill recipe that turns osmium ore into Raw Osmium. The pack changed Industrial Foregoing's Laser Drill recipe so it produces Raw Osmium too.[8]

Sulfur and fluorite: reactor ingredients

Sulfur appears twice. It's a task alongside a Mekanism machine in the Mekanism chapter (a quest in "?"). It's also a quest of its own in Mekanism Reactors (a quest in "?"). That second quest unlocks a quest in "?", which asks for Fluorite together with another Mekanism machine.[2][5]

Sulfur has a lot of sources in this pack. You can smelt, blast or crush sulfur ore, or break it with any ore hammer. The pack added an Enrichment Chamber recipe for sulfur ore and a SAG Mill recipe that gives sulfur from coal. It also changed several Immersive Engineering Crusher recipes so they give sulfur as a byproduct.[8]

Uranium Ingot is the key to the reactor path. The Extreme Reactors chapter asks for one ingot (a quest in "?") and later four (a quest in "?"). Chapter 2 also includes a uranium ingot quest (a quest in "?").[3][4]

Tip: The pack changed Extreme Reactors' yellorium smelting, blasting and block recipes so they all output the AllTheOres Uranium Ingot. Whether you mine uranium or yellorium, you end up with the same ingot.[8]

Raw silver smelts or blasts into ingots, and the pack added a SAG Mill recipe that turns silver ore into Raw Silver. If you're into magic, the pack also changed an Ars Nouveau imbuement recipe so it creates Silver Ingots.[8]

Scaling up

Once you're past hand-smelting, the Immersive Engineering Arc Furnace can process osmium, silver and uranium from raw ore, raw storage blocks or dust. The pack changed those recipes to output AllTheOres ingots. The pack also added Ender IO Alloy Smelter versions of most of these smelting recipes, so either machine line works.[8]

How does AllTheOres work with other mods?

4 parts

AllTheOres supplies a lot of the shared metals and gems in this pack, so its items turn up across several other mods. The biggest links are Mekanism ore processing, AllTheCompressed storage blocks, one AE2 upgrade recipe the pack added, and quests in several chapters.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8]

Mekanism ore processing

AllTheOres has its own Mekanism processing recipes for its metals. Recipes are listed for aluminum, iridium, lead, nickel, osmium and platinum, though the list shown here may not include every metal.[8]

The pack also adds its own crystal-to-shard injecting recipes that use Liquid Hydrogen Chloride instead. These exist for Aluminum Shard, Iridium Shard, Nickel Shard, Platinum Shard, Silver Shard and Zinc Shard. They sit alongside the mod's own crystal recipes for these metals.[8]

AllTheCompressed storage

AllTheCompressed has 1x compressed versions of many AllTheOres blocks. These include metal blocks like Steel Block and Enderium Block, raw blocks like Raw Osmium Block, and gem or mineral blocks like Ruby Block and Sulfur Block. Each compressed block can be crafted back into the original AllTheOres block.[8]

The compressing recipes available here cover Salt Block into Salt Block 1x and Sapphire Block into Sapphire Block 1x.[8]

AE2 Infinity Range Booster

The pack added its own recipe for the Infinity Range Booster. It uses the Wireless Booster together with the AllTheOres Enderium Gear and Lumium Gear. If you want unlimited wireless range on your ME network, you'll need to make those gears.[8]

Quests that use AllTheOres items

Which All the Mods 10 quests use AllTheOres?

5 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.29 guide

AllTheOres doesn't get its own quest chapter in this pack. Its ores, ingots and gems appear as tasks in six other chapters. Here's what each one asks for and, where the quest book links quests together, the order you'll do them in.[11][12][13][14][15][16]

Mekanism

The Mekanism chapter uses AllTheOres materials the most. Osmium comes first: collect some Raw Osmium, then smelt it into an Osmium Ingot to unlock the next quest.[11]

  1. a quest in "?" asks for Raw Osmium.[11]
  2. a quest in "?" asks for an Osmium Ingot and unlocks after the raw osmium quest.[11]

Later in the chapter, a quest in "?" asks for a Steel Ingot. a quest in "?" asks for a Chemical Oxidizer together with Sulfur. Both of these unlock from quests outside this mod's material.[11]

Mekanism Reactors

  1. a quest in "?" asks for Sulfur.[14]
  2. a quest in "?" comes right after it and asks for Fluorite plus a Chemical Dissolution Chamber.[14]

Extreme Reactors

This chapter uses uranium. a quest in "?" asks for an Uranium Ingot. a quest in "?" asks for 4 uranium ingots and unlocks from a quest outside this mod's material.[13]

Occultism

Silver is the AllTheOres material in the Occultism chapter. a quest in "?" asks for Soul Sand, a Diamond, a Copper Ingot, a Silver Ingot and an Book of Binding: Djinni (Bound).[15]

a quest in "?" asks for an Book of Binding: Foliot (Bound) along with Raw Iron, Raw Gold, Raw Copper and Raw Silver. It needs several earlier quests from that chapter to be done first.[15]

Steam Age and chapter_2_the_star

Steel shows up in the steam_age chapter too, where a quest in "?" asks for a Steel Ingot.[16]

The chapter_2_the_star chapter has two quests that use this mod: a quest in "?" asks for an Uranium Ingot and a quest in "?" asks for a Steel Ingot. The quest data doesn't link these two quests to each other.[12]

Tip: Steel and uranium each count toward more than one chapter. Steel ingots are asked for in the Mekanism, steam_age and chapter_2_the_star chapters, and uranium ingots in Extreme Reactors and chapter_2_the_star, so keeping a few spares lets you finish those quests as soon as they unlock.[11][12][13][16]

Unverified The sources don't say which chapter you're meant to do first, so the order between chapters isn't covered here.
