What is Eternal Starlight?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide
Eternal Starlight is a dimension mod that adds the Starlight Dimension, a magical and mysterious realm bathed in starlight and full of wonder, danger and discovery. If you like exploring new places, fighting bosses and collecting new gear, this one is for you.[1]
All the Mods 10 4.5 ships version 0.5.1+1.21.1+neoforge of the mod, and it has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 2.25 or earlier.[2]
How your journey starts
- Look for the Starlight Portal Ruins in the Overworld.[1]
- Face The Gatekeeper to unlock the gateway to the stars.[1]
- Use the Seeking Eye to find each boss, then follow the clues on the Glimmering Tablet to track them down.[1]
Once you're through, you'll find diverse biomes, rare ingredients, unique mobs and lots of tools and weapons to discover.[1]
Where it fits in this pack
The pack has its own Eternal Starlight quest chapter, and it makes a great checklist while you explore. It has quests for key items like the Orb of Prophecy in a quest in "?" and the Seeking Eye in a quest in "?". It also covers blocks, plants and saplings such as the Lunar Sapling and the Torreya Sapling.[3]
The chapter also tracks the mod's gear materials. Getting a Thermal Springstone Ingot in a quest in "?" opens quests for Thermal Springstone tools and armor, like the Thermal Springstone Pickaxe and the Thermal Springstone Chestplate. Getting an Aethersent Ingot in a quest in "?" leads to Aethersent pieces like the Aethersent Hood, plus the Rage of Stars and the Starfall Longbow. There is also a quest for the eternal_starlight:swamp_silver_ingot in a quest in "?".[3]
Unverified The available sources don't show where this quest chapter sits in the pack's wider progression.
How do you get started with Eternal Starlight?
3 parts
Eternal Starlight is a dimension mod that adds the starlight dimension, a realm full of wonder, danger and discovery. Your adventure starts in the Overworld. Seek out the Starlight Portal Ruins, then face the Gatekeeper to unlock the gateway to the stars.[1]
Step 1: Open the portal
The first item you want is the Orb of Prophecy, because it opens the portal. The pack's Eternal Starlight quest chapter tracks it in a quest in "?", so you'll get a checkmark when you have one.[4][5]

Step 2: Your first metals and gear
Once you're through, the quest book branches into several material lines. Each one unlocks quests for a matching set of tools and armor, so pick whichever material you run into first.[5]
- Swamp Silver: turn eternal_starlight:swamp_silver_ore into eternal_starlight:swamp_silver_ingot. The ingot quest a quest in "?" leads to quests for the Swamp Silver sword, pickaxe, axe, sickle, helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots.[5][6]
- Glacite: smelt or blast Glacite into Glacite Shard. The shard quest a quest in "?" leads to quests for Glacite tools, armor, the Glacite Shield and the Glacite Scythe.[5][6]
- Amaramber: you get Raw Amaramber by stripping Torreya Logs. Its quest a quest in "?" leads to quests for the Amaramber helmet, chestplate, axe, hoe and shovel.[4][5]
- Thermal Springstone: Thermal Springstone becomes Thermal Springstone Ingot. Its quest a quest in "?" opens a full tool and armor line that includes a hammer and a scythe.[5][6]

Step 3: Track down the bosses
When you're geared up, craft a Seeking Eye. You use it to locate each boss, then follow the clues on the Glimmering Tablet to track them down. The Seeking Eye has its own quest, a quest in "?".[1][5]
Aethersent is a great upgrade from here. The Aethersent Ingot quest a quest in "?" leads to quests for the Aethersent hood, cape, bottoms and boots, plus Rage of Stars and the Starfall Longbow. Aethersent armor summons meteors over an enemy's head when you get hurt.[4][5]

How does Eternal Starlight work?
9 parts
Eternal Starlight is a dimension mod, not a tech mod. Its core systems are about exploration: finding a portal, beating bosses, collecting rare materials and turning them into gear with special effects.[1]
Unverified The available sources don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluid transport or automation systems for this mod, so this section only covers the mechanics they do explain.
Getting into the Starlight dimension
Your first goal is to find the Starlight Portal Ruins in the Overworld. There you face The Gatekeeper, and passing its trial unlocks the gateway to the stars. The Orb of Prophecy is the item used to open the portal.[1][4]
In this pack's config, The Gatekeeper has 175 max health, 15 armor and 5 attack damage. These are set by mobsConfig.theGatekeeper.maxHealth, mobsConfig.theGatekeeper.armor and mobsConfig.theGatekeeper.attackDamage. The portal's special visual effect is switched on through enablePortalShader, which is set to true.[7]
Tracking down bosses
Once you're in the dimension, the Seeking Eye is your boss finder. Before you use it, put the related item in your other hand. Then follow the clues on the Glimmering Tablet to track the boss down.[1][4]
There's also a crest called Guidance of Stars, which helps you find the ruins where the powerful creatures live.[4]
Boss vulnerability mechanics
The bosses can't just be hit until they die. Each one has a trick you need to work out first.[4]
- Starlight Golem: deactivate its Energy Block to make it vulnerable to your attacks. In this pack it has 220 max health, set by mobsConfig.starlightGolem.maxHealth.[4][7]
- Lunar Monstrosity: ignite it to make it vulnerable to your attacks. In this pack it has 200 max health and 12 armor, set by mobsConfig.lunarMonstrosity.maxHealth and mobsConfig.lunarMonstrosity.armor.[4][7]
Meteor showers and Aethersent
Meteor showers are one of the mod's signature events. Creteors fall from the sky during a shower, and you can craft an Aetherstrike Rocket to conjure a meteor shower yourself. Creteor Hide and Aethersent Ingot both belong to this part of the mod.[4][6]
Creteors are fairly fragile in this pack, with 15 max health and 5 attack damage. Tiny Creteors have 5 max health.[7]
Aethersent armor turns the meteor theme into a defensive tool. When you wear the full set, meteors are summoned over an enemy's head whenever you get hurt. The set is made up of the Aethersent Hood, Aethersent Cape, Aethersent Bottoms and Aethersent Boots.[4][6]

Full-set armor effects
Several armor sets give an extra effect when you wear the full set. It's worth picking the set that fits the fight you're about to take on.[4]
- Aethersent: summons meteors over the enemy's head when you are hurt.[4]
- Glacite: freezes enemies that damage you and makes you immune to freeze damage.[4]
- Thermal Springstone: ignites enemies that damage you and reduces the fire damage you take.[4]
- Swamp Silver: makes you immune to certain negative effects.[4]
The Dagger of Hunger
The Dagger of Hunger has its own hunger system. You need to keep attacking mobs to keep it satiated.[4]
- When attacking, it restores its hunger value.[4]
- When full, it gives you an attack damage and attack speed bonus.[4]
- When hungry, it eats the player, so don't let it starve.[4]
The Tooth of Hunger comes from killing a Thirst Walker or blocking its attack. Thirst Walkers have 40 max health and 4.5 attack damage in this pack.[4][7]
Gathering materials
Many materials come from interacting with the world rather than from simple mining.[4]
- Raw Amaramber comes from stripping Torreya Logs.[4]
- Stellagmite is found underground and can be melted by lava.[4]
- Only flames can destroy the giant plants that live around Thermal Springstone.[4]
- Aurora Deer antlers drop when you enrage an Aurora Deer and make it collide with hard blocks.[4]
- Dusted Shards can be found on the ocean floor.[4]
The metals follow the usual storage pattern. Nuggets craft into ingots and back again, and Aethersent ingots also compress into a Block of Aethersent.[6]

Mob interactions
- You can summon a Grimstone Golem by putting a Carved Lunaris Cactus Fruit on a Grimstone Brick.[4]
- Crystallized Moths attack with sound waves, and you can tame one by feeding it enough meat.[4]
- Killing a Tangled Skull causes an explosion that can kill another one.[4]
- Gleech eggs can be thrown to hit a creature.[4]
How do you progress through Eternal Starlight?
4 parts
The pack's Eternal Starlight quest chapter is built around material branches. Each branch starts with a quest for one key material, like an ingot or shard, and that quest unlocks a set of quests for the tools, weapons and armor made from it. Working through a branch is the easiest way to see what each material gives you.[5]
Getting started
The mod also appears in a main-line quest chapter. It first asks for the Glimmering Tablet (quest a quest in "?"), then for the Chain of Souls (quest a quest in "?"). The Chain of Souls is a crafted item, so plan for it early.[6][8]

In the mod's own chapter, the Seeking Eye quest (a quest in "?") sits next to the first material quests. It unlocks a quest for starlit plants such as Lunar Berries or Cave Moss (a quest in "?") and a quest for Redstone or Golem Steel Ingot (a quest in "?"). There is also a quest for the Orb of Prophecy (a quest in "?").[5]

Material tiers
Here is how each material branch is laid out in the quests.[5]
- Swamp Silver: the eternal_starlight:swamp_silver_ingot quest (a quest in "?") unlocks the Swamp Silver sword, axe, pickaxe and eternal_starlight:swamp_silver_sickle, plus the full armor set from helmet to boots. You get the ingot by smelting or blasting eternal_starlight:swamp_silver_ore.[5][6]
- Glacite: the Glacite Shard quest (a quest in "?") unlocks the Glacite sword, axe, pickaxe, shovel, hoe, Glacite Scythe, Glacite Shield and all four armor pieces. You get shards by smelting or blasting Glacite.[5][6]
- Thermal Springstone: the Thermal Springstone Ingot quest (a quest in "?") unlocks the sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe, Thermal Springstone Hammer, Thermal Springstone Scythe and the full armor set.[5]
- Aethersent: the Aethersent Ingot quest (a quest in "?") unlocks the Aethersent Hood, Aethersent Cape, Aethersent Bottoms and Aethersent Boots, plus the Rage of Stars and Starfall Longbow. You get the ingot by smelting or blasting Raw Aethersent.[5][6]
- Amaramber: the Raw Amaramber quest (a quest in "?") unlocks the Amaramber helmet, chestplate, axe, shovel and hoe. You turn raw Amaramber into ingots with a shapeless crafting recipe.[5][6]
- Thioquartz: the Block of Thioquartz quest (a quest in "?") unlocks the Alchemist Mask and Alchemist Robe.[5]
- Golem Steel: you get Golem Steel Ingot by smelting or blasting Oxidized Golem Steel Ingot.[6]

Later weapons
Further down the chapter are quests for special weapons: the Crystal Crossbow, Mechanical Crossbow, Energy Sword, Crescent Spear, Moonring Bow, Moonring Greatsword and Wand of Teleportation. The Moonring Greatsword quest (a quest in "?") needs two earlier quests completed before it opens.[5]

Quests in other chapters
- The armor chapter has quests for each Eternal Starlight armor set: Swamp Silver, Glacite, Thermal Springstone and Aethersent. It also has quests for the main ingots and shards and for both armor trim smithing templates.[9]
- The tools chapter accepts the eternal_starlight:swamp_silver_pickaxe in one pickaxe quest (a quest in "?") and the Thermal Springstone or Glacite Pickaxe in another (a quest in "?"). It also has separate quests for the Moonring Greatsword, Rage of Stars and Glacite Sword.[10]
- The building chapter accepts any Eternal Starlight log in one quest (a quest in "?") and a metal or gem storage block such as eternal_starlight:swamp_silver_block in another (a quest in "?").[11]
- A large late-game quest (a quest in "?") asks for 10 Lunar Fence, among many items from other mods.[12]

How does Eternal Starlight work with other mods?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.34 guide
Eternal Starlight is mostly its own dimension, but this pack adds a set of custom recipes that tie it into the rest of the modpack. Most of them are wood processing, endgame crafting, or shortcut conversions that turn Overworld materials into their Starlight versions.[13]
Starlight Prediction conversions
The biggest integration is a family of shapeless recipes added by the pack. Each one uses Starlight Prediction to turn a familiar Overworld block or item into its Eternal Starlight counterpart. You can use them to make stone and dirt variants like Grimstone, Voidstone and Nightfall Grass Block, and plants like Lunar Berries and Orbflora. The same goes for corals, crystal blocks, and ice blocks such as Glacite.[13]

One of the many Starlight Prediction conversions
A few of these conversions reach beyond vanilla. Oxidized Golem Steel Ingot and eternal_starlight:swamp_silver_ingot accept any tagged steel or silver ingot, so metals from other mods in the pack work too. Raw Aethersent takes any tagged diamond.[13]

Wood processing with Mekanism and Productive Trees
The pack adds Mekanism sawing recipes for Lunar, Northland, Scarlet, Starlight Mangrove and Torreya logs. Each one turns the log into its matching planks, such as Lunar Planks, plus Sawdust as a byproduct.[13]
Sawing (mekanism)
- any lunar log

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Eternal Starlight?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide
Eternal Starlight turns up across several quest chapters in this pack. It has its own dedicated chapter, and its gear and materials also appear in the basic armor, basic tools, building tips and chapter_2_the_star chapters. Every one of these quests asks you to get specific items, so exploring the dimension and crafting its gear will tick them off as you go.[3][15][16][17][18]
The Eternal Starlight chapter: materials first
Several core quests share the same prerequisite and act as the entry points into the mod: a quest in "?" for eternal_starlight:atalphaite, a quest in "?" for Stellagmite, a quest in "?" for a Seeking Eye, a quest in "?" for a Thermal Springstone Ingot, and a quest in "?" for an Aethersent Ingot.[3]
Most material quests then open a whole branch of gear quests. Grab the material and the matching armor and tool quests unlock right after it.[3]
- a quest in "?" unlocks the Thermal Springstone line: the helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots, plus the Thermal Springstone Sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe, Thermal Springstone Scythe and Thermal Springstone Hammer.[3]
- a quest in "?" unlocks the Aethersent Hood, Aethersent Cape, Aethersent Bottoms and Aethersent Boots, along with a quest in "?" for Rage of Stars and a quest in "?" for the Starfall Longbow.[3]
- a quest in "?" asks for a eternal_starlight:swamp_silver_ingot and unlocks the Swamp Silver armor, sword, pickaxe, axe and eternal_starlight:swamp_silver_sickle.[3]
- a quest in "?" asks for a Glacite Shard and unlocks the Glacite armor, sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe, Glacite Scythe and Glacite Shield.[3]

Which Eternal Starlight config options matter?
5 parts
Eternal Starlight keeps all its settings in a single file, and this pack ships its own copy. Most of that file is a stat sheet for every mob in the mod, plus one visual toggle. Here's what's worth knowing before you step through the portal.[7]
Portal shader
enablePortalShader is set to true in this pack, so the portal's shader effect is switched on.[7]
Every mob can spawn
Each mob has its own canSpawn switch, and the pack leaves all of them set to true. Nothing from the mod has been disabled, so you'll meet the full roster, from mobsConfig.auroraDeer.canSpawn to mobsConfig.yeti.canSpawn.[7]
The Gatekeeper
The mod has you face The Gatekeeper to unlock the way to the Starlight dimension, so its stats matter early. In this pack it has mobsConfig.theGatekeeper.maxHealth at 175, mobsConfig.theGatekeeper.armor at 15, mobsConfig.theGatekeeper.attackDamage at 5 and a mobsConfig.theGatekeeper.followRange of 200. That's a lot of armor, so bring your best weapon.[1][7]
The toughest stat blocks
A few entries stand well above the rest of the file. Some use an attack damage scale rather than a flat damage value, and the pack sets each of those scales to 1.[7]
- Starlight Golem: the highest mobsConfig.starlightGolem.maxHealth in the file at 220, with 0 armor, a mobsConfig.starlightGolem.attackDamageScale of 1 and a follow range of 200.[7]
- Lunar Monstrosity: mobsConfig.lunarMonstrosity.maxHealth of 200, mobsConfig.lunarMonstrosity.armor of 12, a damage scale of 1 and a follow range of 200.[7]
- Astral Golem: mobsConfig.astralGolem.maxHealth of 100, 10 armor and a flat mobsConfig.astralGolem.attackDamage of 10, the highest flat damage value in the file.[7]
- Tangled Hatred: mobsConfig.tangledHatred.maxHealth of 60, 5 armor, a damage scale of 1 and a follow range of 100.[7]
Everyday threats
Among the regular mobs, a few are worth respecting. mobsConfig.thirstWalker.maxHealth is 40 with 4.5 attack damage. The Freeze has 32 health and hits for 5. The Boarwarf has only 30 health, but its mobsConfig.boarwarf.armor of 10 makes it tankier than it looks. The Creteor hits for 5 and tracks you from 48 blocks away.[7]
Unverified It could not be confirmed whether any of these values differ from the mod's own defaults. Treat the numbers above as the pack's settings, not as changes the pack made.
What changed in Eternal Starlight between versions?
3 parts
All the Mods 10 2.12 ships Eternal Starlight 0.2.1 for 1.21.1 on NeoForge. The mod was already in the pack as of All the Mods 10 0.41 or earlier. Below are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs, newest first. I don't have any pack changelog entries for this mod, so nothing here describes pack-specific changes.[19]
0.2.1 (the version in this pack)
- New items: the Creteor Hide (used in many Aethersent-related recipes), the Aetherstrike Rocket to manually trigger the Meteor Shower, the Bouldershroom Stew that lets you climb any block, and the Ashen Snowball and Frozen Bomb.[20]
- Creteors now spawn together with meteors instead of falling alone. The Golem Forge battle room has 1 Freeze spawner instead of 4, and Abyssal Kelp only generates inside the Abyss.[20]
- The Gatekeeper's dialogue was replaced with a more straightforward way. Fixes include spell data sync lag, Lunar Berries generating out of nowhere and the Gatekeeper's immunity to the kill command.[20]
0.2.0
- Added the Creteor (a star-shaped creeper that falls during the meteor shower), the Golem Steel Crate (keeps its contents when destroyed) and the Crystalfleur (grows in the Crystallized Desert).[21]
- Haze Ice replaces Voidstone in the Starlight Permafrost Forest, and there are new ores for Eternal Ice and Haze Ice.[21]
- Bosses drop more Golem Steel Ingots and Tenacious Petals. 4 Lunar Saplings now grow into a huge lunar tree, and Lunar Berries only generate in Starlight Forest and Starlight Dense Forest.[21]
0.1.x highlights
- 0.1.18: the Cursed Garden got a new look, and the Bouldershroom and Hanging Fantagrass were added. Boss structure chests now hold Swamp Silver Nuggets instead of Swamp Silver Ingots, and the Aethersent Ingot was removed from them. The Gatekeeper now respects the mobGriefing gamerule.[22]
- 0.1.17: scythes can no longer till blocks, and the Aethersent Meteor's explosion was nerfed. A ConcurrentModificationException crash was fixed.[23]
- 0.1.16: scythes and hammers were reworked, with scythes losing Sweeping Edge and hammers losing sweep attacks. The Crystallized Moth was remodeled and made tamable, and Nightfall Podzol, 3 new tracks and music discs were added.[24]
- 0.1.15: added the Voracious Arrow and Nightfall Dirt Path. Stellagmite now melts when touched by lava and cools when touched by water.[25]
- 0.1.14: added the Thioquartz trim material, fixed ether liquid problems and fixed an item duplication bug.[26]
