What is Create?
1 part
Create is all about building, decoration and what its authors call aesthetic automation. You don't spend your time inside a bunch of UIs. Instead, you set up contraptions of animated components that work together in many possible arrangements, and the mod leaves as many design choices as possible up to you.[1]
If you like seeing your factory actually move, spin and chug along, this is the mod for you. The built-in visual documentation, called Ponder, walks you through every mechanic and gadget. The developers recommend a recipe viewer such as JEI to see all of Create's recipes, because the vanilla recipe book can't guide you through it on its own.[1]
All the Mods 10 2.44 ships Create 6.0.4, and the mod has been in the pack since version 2.39 or earlier.[2]
Where it fits in the pack
Create has its own quest chapter in this pack. The opening quests ask for Andesite Alloy, Andesite Casing, Engineer's Goggles, Schematic Table and Polished Rose Quartz, and everything else branches out from there.[3]
- The a quest in "?" branch covers the basics: Shaft, Cogwheel, Large Cogwheel, Mechanical Belt, Basin, chassis, funnels, tunnels and Windmill Sail.[3]
- The a quest in "?" branch opens up the machines, including Mechanical Press, Mechanical Drill, Mechanical Saw, Deployer, Encased Fan and Gearbox.[3]
- After the press you move on to Blaze Burner, Mechanical Mixer and Copper Casing. Copper casing then leads to fluid handling with Spout and Hose Pulley.[3]
- The goggles unlock the Speedometer and Stressometer quests.[3]
- Brass-tier quests include Mechanical Crafter, Brass Casing, Brass Tunnel and finally Mechanical Arm.[3]
Create also appears outside its own chapter. The pack's star chapter (chapter_2_the_star) has quests for Precision Mechanism, followed by Blaze Burner and Mechanical Arm. That means the brass-tier parts are worth learning even if Create isn't your main tech mod.[4]
How do you get started with Create?
6 parts
Create is all about building animated contraptions out of moving parts instead of clicking through machine menus. Your first stop should be Ponder, Create's visual in-game documentation, which walks you through every mechanic and gadget. The vanilla recipe book won't guide you through Create on its own.[1]
This pack has a dedicated Create quest chapter. Its first quests ask for Andesite Alloy, Andesite Casing, Engineer's Goggles, the Schematic Table and Polished Rose Quartz, and most of the rest of the chapter branches off from those. Here's a good order to tackle them in.[3]
Andesite Alloy
Andesite Alloy is Create's most important resource, and you'll need a lot of it. Go for the a quest in "?" quest first. In this pack it unlocks a big chunk of the chapter, including shafts, cogwheels, belts, funnels, tunnels, the basin and windmill sails.[3][5]

Andesite Casing
Andesite Casing is the basic casing for your machines. You make it by applying Andesite Alloy to stripped wood.[5]
In this pack, a quest in "?" is the gateway to most early machines. It unlocks the quests for the Mechanical Press, Mechanical Drill, Mechanical Saw, Gearbox, Depot, Encased Fan, Deployer, Clutch, Gearshift and more.[3]
Engineer's Goggles
The Engineer's Goggles have their own starting quest, a quest in "?". Completing it leads to the Speedometer and Stressometer quests, a quest in "?" and a quest in "?".[3]

How does Create work?
11 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Create isn't a mod you play through menus. Almost everything happens in the world as animated components working together, and the mod ships its own visual in-game documentation called Ponder to walk you through each block's mechanics. Keep JEI open alongside it, because the vanilla recipe book can't guide you through Create on its own.[1]
Rotational force
Everything in Create runs on rotation. Your first sources of torque are the Water Wheel, an assembled windmill and the Hand Crank for quick manual bursts; later you graduate to the Steam Engine, which generates torque from a boiler. Windmills can be assembled at varying strengths, and boilers can be pushed all the way to their maximum level of power.[7]
Rotation is carried between machines by Shaft and by Mechanical Belts, which connect two shafts together. To change how fast that rotation moves, connect a Large Cogwheel to a Small Cogwheel (that's the basic gear shift) or use a Rotation Speed Controller when you need to fine-tune a contraption to an exact speed.[7]
Every machine you add draws on the network's stress capacity. To see exactly how loaded a network is, wear Engineer's Goggles and look at a Stressometer; it will read out the current load, up to a full 100% readout when you've maxed the network.[7]
Casings and materials
Andesite Alloy is Create's most important resource and the gateway to the first machine tier. Machines are then built around casings: Andesite Casing for the basic tier, Brass Casing for the more sophisticated machines, and Copper Casing as the waterproof option for fluid work. Brass itself is alloyed in a Mechanical Mixer heated by a Blaze Burner.[7]
Further up the chain you'll refine Powdered Obsidian into Sturdy Sheets, polish Rose Quartz, and assemble the Precision Mechanism, the component-crafting item that gates Create's most advanced gear.[7]
Processing machines
Most of Create's ore and food processing comes from a handful of powered blocks, each with its own recipe type:[7]
- The Millstone pulverises materials on its own, while a pair of powered Crushing Wheels does the same job at far higher throughput and can be run right up to maximum speed.[7]
- The Mechanical Press makes sheets, and when placed over a Basin it performs compacting, turning more items into fewer.[7]
- The Mechanical Mixer combines ingredients in a Basin, and with a Blaze Burner underneath it handles heated recipes such as alloying.[7]
- An upright Mechanical Saw processes materials placed in front of it.[7]
- The Encased Fan pushes air through fire, water, lava or ice to perform fan processing: washing, smelting and the like.[7]
- The Deployer acts as a stand-in for you, using items and tools on whatever is in front of it.[7]
- Mechanical Crafters chained together handle multi-step crafting automatically; they can be deliberately slowed right down if you feed them very low speed.[7]
Moving items around
Funnels extract from and insert into containers, Chutes move items vertically, and belts carry them horizontally. For more flexible routing, the Mechanical Arm picks items up and delivers them to targets you program in: it can handle 10 or more output locations from a single arm, including odd jobs like feeding a Blaze Burner. The Weighted Ejector launches items (and players) across gaps, with enough range to throw you more than 30 blocks.[7]
Filters are what make all of this precise. List Filter matches a list of items, Attribute Filter matches by item properties, and Package Filter handles Create's packages. All three can be wiped back to blank on a crafting grid if you want to reuse them.[8]
Clearing a used List Filter.
Fluids
Fluid Pipes and the Mechanical Pump move liquids around; the pulling end of a pipe or pump is what collects water from a source, and pipes can even draw honey straight out of a Bee Nest or Beehive. Wrenching a pipe that contains fluid turns it into a windowed pipe so you can watch the contents. Watch out when two different fluids meet in the same network.[7]
For bulk work, the Hose Pulley lowers into a body of fluid to drain or fill it, and a large enough lava lake counts as infinite. On the item side, the Spout fills fluid-containing items from above and the Item Drain empties them as they roll across it, you can chain several drains in a row for continuous emptying.[7]
Steam and boilers
Fluid Tanks double as boilers: heat them, attach Steam Engines, and you get torque scaled to the boiler's power level. Steam Whistles mounted on a tank play notes, and a single Fluid Tank can carry up to 12 uniquely pitched whistles if you want a working pipe organ.[7]
Contraptions
Contraptions are groups of blocks that move as one. Super Glue binds loose blocks into a group, bearings (including the Clockwork Bearing) spin assembled structures, and the Rope Pulley raises and lowers them, it can extend over 200 blocks deep. Minecart Contraptions can carry at least 200 attached blocks, and with a Deployer on board they'll even place track in front of themselves as they go.[7]
Contraptions aren't just scenery: drills, saws and harvesters mounted on them keep working while they move, and a Portable Storage Interface lets you push items into or pull them out of a moving contraption from a fixed point.[7]
Trains
Train Tracks, Train Casing made from Sturdy Sheets and a bearing get you an assembled Train. Trains can be built out to 6 or more carriages, driven by a conductor following a Train Schedule, and managed on shared track with Train Signals. They can pass through portals, and Train Seats will happily carry you thousands of blocks: over 5,000 blocks from where you started, if you're patient. Display Links can forecast a train's arrival on a Display Board.[7]
Packages and requests
Create's logistics layer works with cardboard packages. A Packager boxes items up from an inventory, Chain Conveyors carry packages across your base, and a Frogport catches them at the destination. A Stock Ticker lets you employ a mob and place item requests against your network, while Factory Gauges trigger those package requests automatically when stock runs low. A Table Cloth turns a block into a small shop you can put items up for sale on.[7]
Control and readouts
Redstone Link pairs transmit redstone wirelessly, and the Linked Controller activates those links from your hand. Display Links visualise information from blocks onto displays such as Display Boards. The Clipboard keeps notes, and it also copies settings like filters from one block with a right-click and applies them elsewhere with a left-click, a huge time-saver when you're configuring a row of identical machines.[7]

For rails, the Controller Rail is a uni-directional powered rail whose speed varies with the redstone signal strength you feed it.[7]
Gear and gadgets
A Copper Backtank accumulates air pressure while it's driven, and paired with a Copper Diving Helmet it becomes a diving suit for extended underwater work. Netherite diving gear goes a step further and survives a dip in lava. Other handheld tools include the Extendo Grip for extra reach and the Potato Cannon.[7]

How do you progress through Create?
5 parts
Create's quest chapter in this pack is a branching web, not one long line. A handful of starter quests open the chapter: Andesite Alloy, Andesite Casing, Engineer's Goggles, Schematic Table and Polished Rose Quartz. Each of these unlocks its own set of machines, and the chapter builds from andesite through copper up to brass.[3]
Andesite tier: alloy and kinetics
Everything starts with Andesite Alloy, which has its own quest, a quest in "?". You can hand-craft it with iron nuggets or with zinc nuggets. Once you have a Mechanical Mixer running, you can also mix it in a basin.[3][6]
Crafting Shaped
| any iron nugget | |

A zinc nugget version also exists: create:crafting/materials/andesite_alloy_from_zinc
The alloy quest unlocks the basic building blocks of power: Shaft, Cogwheel and Large Cogwheel. It also opens the Mechanical Belt, Basin, Andesite Funnel, Andesite Tunnel, Windmill Sail, Cart Assembler, and both the Linear Chassis and Radial Chassis.[3]
Your first real power source follows from the large cogwheel: the Water Wheel quest, a quest in "?", comes right after it. The water wheel itself is crafted from a shaft and planks.[3][6]

Andesite Casing: your first machines
Andesite Casing is made by applying andesite alloy to a stripped log or stripped wood. Its quest, a quest in "?", is the biggest hub in the chapter.[3][6]
Item Application (create)
Andesite Alloy
- any stripped log

- Processing machines: Mechanical Press, Mechanical Drill, Mechanical Saw, Encased Fan and Deployer.[3]
- Power routing: Gearbox, Clutch, Gearshift and Encased Chain Drive. The chain drive then leads to the Adjustable Chain Gearshift.[3]
- Contraption parts: Mechanical Harvester, Mechanical Plough, Rope Pulley, Gantry Carriage and Piston Extension Pole. The pole quest leads to a Mechanical Piston or Sticky Mechanical Piston.[3]
- Item handling: the Depot, which leads on to the Weighted Ejector.[3]
If you want to see how much speed and stress your network is handling, the goggles quest unlocks the Speedometer and Stressometer. You can convert these two gauges into each other in a crafting grid.[3][6]
Copper tier: fluids and heat
The Mechanical Press quest, a quest in "?", is the gateway to the next step. It unlocks the Mechanical Mixer, Blaze Burner, Super Glue, Chute and Copper Casing. Copper casing is made like andesite casing, but by applying a copper ingot to stripped wood.[3][6]
Item Application (create)
- any copper ingot
- any stripped log
Recipe id: create:item_application/copper_casing_from_log
Copper casing opens the fluid side of the mod: the Spout, Hose Pulley and Portable Fluid Interface. With a spout you can fill a Blaze Cake Base with lava to make a Blaze Cake, which has its own quest after the spout. On the item side, the chute quest leads on to the Smart Chute.[3][6]
Brass tier: automation
The brass quests share a prerequisite that isn't listed in the chapter data. They cover Brass Casing, Mechanical Crafter, Brass Funnel and Brass Tunnel. Brass casing is made by applying a brass ingot to stripped wood, and it unlocks the Portable Storage Interface. The mechanical crafter quest leads to the Mechanical Arm.[3][6]

How does Create work with other mods?
5 parts
Create is wired into a lot of this pack. Its ore processing ends in shared metals from other mods, several other mods can make Create items, and a few Create machines show up in the pack's late-game crafting and quests.[4][6]
Ore processing outputs All The Ores metals
The pack changed Create's ore processing so crushed ores finish as All The Ores metals. If you smelt or blast Crushed Raw Zinc, you get Zinc Ingot. If you wash it with splashing, you get Zinc Nugget. Washing Crushed Raw Copper gives Copper Nugget.[6]
- Crushed Raw Aluminum smelts or blasts into Aluminum Ingot and washes into Aluminum Nugget.[6]
- Crushed Raw Lead smelts or blasts into Lead Ingot and washes into Lead Nugget.[6]
- Crushed Raw Nickel smelts or blasts into Nickel Ingot and washes into Nickel Nugget.[6]
- Crushed Raw Osmium smelts or blasts into Osmium Ingot and washes into Osmium Nugget.[6]
- Crushed Raw Silver smelts or blasts into Silver Ingot and washes into Silver Nugget.[6]
- Crushed Raw Tin smelts or blasts into Tin Ingot and washes into Tin Nugget.[6]
- Crushed Raw Uranium smelts or blasts into Uranium Ingot and washes into Uranium Nugget.[6]
Crushing Asurine or Veridium was also changed. It now gives All The Ores nuggets along with Create's crushed ores.[6]
Crushing (create)

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Create?
7 parts
Create has its own quest chapter in this pack, and a few Create items also appear in a second chapter. Every quest in the Create chapter is a simple item task: craft or obtain the listed item and it completes. The quests are untitled, so you'll see them by their quest IDs.[3][4]
The Create chapter: getting started
The chapter opens with a handful of quests that all unlock from the same starting point. These are the foundations everything else branches from.[3]
- a quest in "?" asks for Andesite Alloy and opens the basic components branch.[3]
- a quest in "?" asks for Andesite Casing and opens the machines branch.[3]
- a quest in "?" asks for Engineer's Goggles.[3]
- a quest in "?" asks for Schematic Table.[3]
- a quest in "?" asks for Polished Rose Quartz.[3]
Andesite Alloy branch
Once you have Andesite Alloy, the chapter asks for the core kinetic and logistics parts: Shaft in a quest in "?", Cogwheel in a quest in "?", Large Cogwheel in a quest in "?", Mechanical Belt in a quest in "?", Windmill Sail in a quest in "?", Basin in a quest in "?", Andesite Funnel in a quest in "?", Andesite Tunnel in a quest in "?", Linear Chassis in a quest in "?", Radial Chassis in a quest in "?" and Cart Assembler in a quest in "?". The Large Cogwheel quest then leads to a quest in "?", which asks for a Water Wheel.[3]
Andesite Casing branch
Andesite Casing unlocks the biggest group of quests, covering machines and power control: Gearbox in a quest in "?", Clutch in a quest in "?", Gearshift in a quest in "?", Encased Chain Drive in a quest in "?", Encased Fan in a quest in "?", Mechanical Press in a quest in "?", Mechanical Drill in a quest in "?", Mechanical Saw in a quest in "?", Mechanical Harvester in a quest in "?", Mechanical Plough in a quest in "?", Deployer in a quest in "?", Depot in a quest in "?", Rope Pulley in a quest in "?", Gantry Carriage in a quest in "?" and Piston Extension Pole in a quest in "?".[3]
A few of those lead further. The Piston Extension Pole quest unlocks a quest in "?", where either a Mechanical Piston or a Sticky Mechanical Piston counts. The Depot leads to Weighted Ejector in a quest in "?", and the Encased Chain Drive leads to Adjustable Chain Gearshift in a quest in "?".[3]
After the Mechanical Press
The Mechanical Press is a key hub. It unlocks Mechanical Mixer in a quest in "?", Blaze Burner in a quest in "?", Super Glue in a quest in "?", Chute in a quest in "?" and Copper Casing in a quest in "?". The Chute leads on to Smart Chute in a quest in "?".[3]
Copper Casing opens the fluid side of things: Spout in a quest in "?", Hose Pulley in a quest in "?" and Portable Fluid Interface in a quest in "?". The Spout quest then unlocks a quest in "?", which asks for a Blaze Cake.[3]
Goggles and schematics
The Goggles quest leads to the gauges: Speedometer in a quest in "?" and Stressometer in a quest in "?". The Schematic Table quest leads to Schematicannon in a quest in "?".[3]
Brass tier
The brass quests hang off a prerequisite that isn't one of the Create quests listed in this chapter. They ask for Brass Casing in a quest in "?", Brass Funnel in a quest in "?", Brass Tunnel in a quest in "?" and Mechanical Crafter in a quest in "?". Brass Casing leads to Portable Storage Interface in a quest in "?", and the Mechanical Crafter leads to Mechanical Arm in a quest in "?".[3]
Create in another chapter
Create items also show up in the pack's chapter_2_the_star quest chapter. It starts with a quest in "?", asking for a Precision Mechanism. That unlocks a quest in "?" for a Blaze Burner and a quest in "?" for a Mechanical Arm.[4]
Two later quests in that chapter accept Create items as one of their options. a quest in "?" accepts a Blaze Burner or an item from another mod, and a quest in "?" accepts a Mechanical Arm or an item from another mod. Each of these also needs a prerequisite from outside the Create quests.[4]
Unverified The sources don't give quest titles, descriptions or rewards, so what each quest hands out once you finish it can't be confirmed here.
Which Create config options matter?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
There's nothing to report here yet. No Create config files from this pack were available when this page was written, so there's no way to confirm which options All the Mods 10 changed from the mod's defaults.[1]
Unverified Any specific Create config values for this pack version, including kinetic stress limits, contraption size caps, world generation toggles and client rendering options, are unverified. Check the pack's config folder in your instance before relying on a number you read elsewhere.
What changed in Create between versions?
1 part
Create has been in All the Mods 10 since version 2.39, and the pack has updated it a couple of times since. Here's how it got to the version you're playing in 2.44.[2][9]
Pack releases
- All the Mods 10 2.39: Create is added to the pack at version 6.0.2.[9]
- All the Mods 10 2.40: Create is updated from 6.0.2 to 6.0.3.[10]
- All the Mods 10 2.42: Create is updated from 6.0.3 to 6.0.4.[11]
- All the Mods 10 2.44: the pack still ships Create 6.0.4, from the file create-1.21.1-6.0.4.jar.[2]
Unverified The specific fixes and features in each of these Create updates can't be confirmed here, because the mod's own changelogs for the shipped versions aren't available. The pack changelogs only record which version was swapped in, not what changed inside the mod.
