What is Apothic Enchanting?
2 parts
Apothic Enchanting is in the pack as version 1.3.2 (the 1.21.1 build), and it has been here since 1.9 or earlier. In this pack its items are a big family of shelves, from Hellshelf and Seashelf up to Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures, plus two library blocks, Enchantment Library and Library of Alexandria.[1][2]
Where the quest book puts it
The mod has its own quest chapter. Its first quests hang off a quest outside the chapter: one for Hellshelf, one for Seashelf, and one covering Beeshelf, Stoneshelf and Melonshelf.[2]
- The Seashelf line goes to Infused Seashelf, then splits into Crystalline Seashelf, Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration and Heart-Forged Seashelf.[2]
- placeholder[2]
- The Hellshelf line goes to a quest for 5 Infused Hellshelf, then splits into Blazing Hellshelf, Glowing Hellshelf, and the sight shelves Hellshelf of Sight and Hellshelf of Masterful Sight.[2]
- Deepshelf needs both the Glowing Hellshelf and Crystalline Seashelf quests. It then branches to Echoing Deepshelf, Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability and Soul-Touched Deepshelf, and on to Echoing Sculkshelf and Soul-Touched Sculkshelf.[2]
- Both sculkshelf quests lead to a quest for Endshelf and Infused Dragon's Breath, then to Draconic Endshelf and Pearlescent Endshelf.[2]
- The final quest after the Draconic Endshelf asks for Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures, 5 Echoing Sculkshelf, a Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability, a Beeshelf, 2 Heart-Forged Seashelf and 2 Draconic Endshelf.[2]
- The library and trident quests sit on a separate branch: Enchantment Library leads to Library of Alexandria, and Inert Trident has its own quest from the same parent as the library.[2]
The ATM Star chapters
Apothic Enchanting items also appear as tasks in the ATM Star chapter. Quest a quest in "?" lists 5 Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures, 5 Echoing Sculkshelf, 17 Soul-Touched Sculkshelf and 5 Soul-Touched Deepshelf, alongside an enchanting table and many building blocks. The quest after it, a quest in "?", asks for Infused Dragon's Breath and an enchanted book.[3]
Infused Dragon's Breath is also the only task of quest a quest in "?" in chapter 2, the Star chapter.[4]
How do you get started with Apothic Enchanting?
6 parts
Apothic Enchanting is all about building a better enchanting setup, and in this pack its quest chapter follows a clear shelf progression. Here is the order I'd go in, and why each step matters.[2]
Start with an enchanting table
Everything starts with the enchanting table. The mod's own advancement for it is to obtain one and begin to unveil the mystery. With this mod, enchanting tables can exceed 30 levels, and some enchantments only show up past level 30. That is the whole reason to build up your shelves.[5]
Make your first shelves
The quest chapter has three starting points. Two of them are the Hellshelf (a quest in "?") and the Seashelf (a quest in "?"). A third quest asks for the Stoneshelf, Beeshelf and Melonshelf (a quest in "?").[2]

Infuse them
Next you turn your Hellshelf and Seashelf into their infused versions. These use infusion recipes rather than normal crafting, and the mod's advancements call this Infusion Enchanting. The shelves further along each line are built from these infused shelves.[5][6]

The quest for the Infused Seashelf is a quest in "?". The Infused Hellshelf quest, a quest in "?", asks for 5 of them, so plan to make a few.[2]
Upgrade the infused shelves
From there the quests branch into upgrades. The Glowing Hellshelf (a quest in "?") and the Crystalline Seashelf (a quest in "?") are the two that lead on to the Deepshelf.[2]

Move on to the Deepshelf
The Deepshelf quest (a quest in "?") comes after both of those upgrade quests. You first craft a Dormant Deepshelf, then activate it through infusion. The mod also has an advancement for activating a Dormant Deepshelf.[2][5][6]

Look ahead to the End
The Endshelf needs Infused Dragon's Breath, which is made by infusion. Its quest, a quest in "?", comes after the two sculkshelf quests. Infused Dragon's Breath also shows up in the pack's star quest lines.[2][3][4][6]

How does Apothic Enchanting work?
7 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 7.0 guide
Apothic Enchanting is built around the enchanting table, not around machines. The mod's tooltips describe a stat system, a set of bookshelf blocks that feed it, and a few storage and extraction tools. Here is how those pieces work.[7]
Raising the level cap
Enchanting tables can now exceed 30 levels, and some enchantments only show up past level 30. The mod has advancements for enchanting at levels 30, 60, 80 and 100, so the high end is meant to be reachable.[7]
The three stats
The enchanting screen shows three stats, and the bookshelves around the table push them up.[7]
- Eterna sets the max enchanting level. The screen shows your current value against the maximum.[7]
- Arcana makes rare enchantments more common and increases the number of enchantments you get.[7]
- Quanta increases the underlying randomness. The screen also says it lessens the negative effects.[7]
Some shelves are tagged as providing Quantic Stability. There are advancements for enchanting at 0%, 50% and 100% Quanta, and for hitting max Eterna and Arcana with 0% Quanta.[7]
Shelves
The shelves form upgrade chains. The basic ones are the Hellshelf, the Beeshelf and the Melonshelf, and the higher tiers are built from the tier below. Here is the Beeshelf recipe as an example.[8]
Crafting Shaped
| any bookshelve | ||
Recipe id: apothic_enchanting:beeshelf
- Nether line: the Infused Hellshelf comes from Infusion Enchanting, and it then upgrades into the Blazing Hellshelf or the Glowing Hellshelf.[7][8]
- Sea line: the Infused Seashelf also comes from Infusion Enchanting. It upgrades into the Crystalline Seashelf, the Heart-Forged Seashelf or the Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration.[7][8]
- End line: you need Infused Dragon's Breath to make the Endshelf. The Endshelf then upgrades into the Draconic Endshelf or the Pearlescent Endshelf.[7][8]
- Deep line: the Dormant Deepshelf has to be activated, and it becomes the Deepshelf. That upgrades into the Echoing Deepshelf, which in turn goes into the Echoing Sculkshelf using a Warden Tendril.[7][8]

Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration
You insert enchanted books into the Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration to stop those enchantments from appearing in the table. It also gains Eterna and Arcana based on how many books you put in. That makes it a good way to cut out enchantments you don't want.[7][8]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: apothic_enchanting:filtering_shelf
Enchantment Library
The Enchantment Library stores enchantments. Insert an enchanted book to deposit it. Left-click a stored enchantment to take out one level, or shift-click to take the max level available.[7][8]
Tooltips on the library show how many enchantments it stores, the points stored against its capacity, and the max level available. They also warn you when the next level is unavailable.[7]

Tomes
The type tomes each accept one category of enchantments. These are the Tome of Helmets, Tome of Chestplates, Tome of Legplates, Tome of Boots, Tome of the Miners, Tome of the Fishers, Tome of the Archers and Tome of the Others. The Other tome covers miscellaneous enchantments.[7][8]
The Tome of Scrapping extracts half of the enchantments from an item and destroys the item in the process.[7][8]
The mod's text also describes an improved scrap tome that extracts all enchantments and destroys the item. It describes an extraction tome that extracts all enchantments without destroying the item. You can also build an Altar of the Seas, which turns unwanted enchanted items into a new book.[7]
Utility items
The Prismatic Cobweb can be used to remove curses.[7][8]
Ender leads capture and move entities. The Flimsy Ender Lead only handles animals. The full Ender Lead handles most entities, and the Occult Ender Lead can also bind them to Mob Spawners. The pack changed the Flimsy Ender Lead recipe from the mod's version, so use the one below.[7][8]
Unverified The sources don't explain any power, fluid or item automation, and they don't cover the exact stat values each shelf provides or the Infusion Enchanting requirements. This section leaves those out.
How do you progress through Apothic Enchanting?
9 parts
This pack gives Apothic Enchanting its own quest chapter, and it works as a shelf-upgrade ladder. You start with basic themed shelves, infuse them into stronger versions, work through the End shelves, and finish with a capstone quest. The quests have no titles, so I'll describe each one by what it asks you to hold.[2]
Starter shelves
Three quests open from the same earlier quest. One asks for a Hellshelf (a quest in "?"), one for a Seashelf (a quest in "?"), and one wants a Beeshelf, a Stoneshelf and a Melonshelf (a quest in "?"). The Hellshelf and Seashelf are the two branches that lead deeper.[2]

Next you need five Infused Hellshelf (a quest in "?"). You make it with an infusion recipe that turns a Hellshelf into an Infused Hellshelf.[2][6]
Infusion (apothic_enchanting)

Three quests open from there. They cover the Blazing Hellshelf (a quest in "?"), the Glowing Hellshelf (a quest in "?"), and the Hellshelf of Sight together with the Hellshelf of Masterful Sight (a quest in "?").[2]
The recipe for the Hellshelf of Masterful Sight is changed by this pack, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. Check the recipe below.[6]

Sea branch: Seashelf line
The sea line mirrors the Nether one. First you infuse a Seashelf into an Infused Seashelf (a quest in "?"). That unlocks three quests: the Crystalline Seashelf (a quest in "?"), the Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration (a quest in "?") and the Heart-Forged Seashelf (a quest in "?").[2][6]

Deepshelves and sculk shelves
The Deepshelf quest (a quest in "?") only unlocks once you've finished both the Glowing Hellshelf quest and the Crystalline Seashelf quest. So you have to push both earlier branches before you can get here. You craft a Dormant Deepshelf first, then infuse it.[2][6]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: apothic_enchanting:dormant_deepshelf
Three quests branch off the Deepshelf. They are the Echoing Deepshelf (a quest in "?"), the Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability (a quest in "?") and the Soul-Touched Deepshelf (a quest in "?"). The sculk upgrades follow: the Echoing Sculkshelf (a quest in "?") comes after the Echoing Deepshelf, and the Soul-Touched Sculkshelf (a quest in "?") comes after the Soul-Touched Deepshelf.[2]

The End shelves
Both sculk quests have to be done before the next one opens. It asks for an Endshelf and Infused Dragon's Breath (a quest in "?"). Infused Dragon's Breath comes from an infusion recipe that starts with dragon's breath.[2][6]
Infusion (apothic_enchanting)
Recipe id: apothic_enchanting:infusion/infused_breath
After that you can go for the Draconic Endshelf (a quest in "?") and the Pearlescent Endshelf (a quest in "?").[2]
The capstone quest
The last quest in the chapter (a quest in "?") unlocks after the Draconic Endshelf. It asks for one Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures, five Echoing Sculkshelf, one Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability, one Beeshelf, two Heart-Forged Seashelf and two Draconic Endshelf.[2]

Links to other chapters
A big requirements quest in the ATM Star chapter (a quest in "?") lists 5 Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures, 5 Echoing Sculkshelf, 17 Soul-Touched Sculkshelf and 5 Soul-Touched Deepshelf, among many other items. The quest after it (a quest in "?") asks for Infused Dragon's Breath and an enchanted book. A separate quest in the Star chapter (a quest in "?") also asks for Infused Dragon's Breath.[3][4]
Scrapping tomes
The quests in this chapter don't cover the tomes, but the pack has infusion recipes that chain them. The Tome of Scrapping infuses into the Tome of Superior Scrapping, which infuses into the Tome of Extraction.[2][6]

How does Apothic Enchanting work with other mods?
5 parts
Apothic Enchanting doesn't live in its own corner of the pack. Its shelves, tomes and Infused Dragon's Breath show up in crafting recipes, machine recipes and quests that involve other mods. Here's where they connect.[3][4][6]
Miniature portals (AllTheTweaks)
The pack adds shaped crafting recipes for the miniature portals, and each one needs an Apothic Enchanting shelf. The recipes for the Miniature End Portal, the Miniature Exit Portal and the Miniature Nether Portal are shown below.[6]

Machine recipes
The pack adds several Modular Machinery Reborn recipes for its Runic Enchanter. They mix Apothic Enchanting items with Xp Fluid Source from Just Dire Things. The inputs are as follows:[6]
- Recipes 113 and 114 take the scrap tomes. Tome of Scrapping and Tome of Superior Scrapping go into 113, while Tome of Extraction and Tome of Superior Scrapping go into 114.[6]
- Recipe 118 takes Deepshelf and Dormant Deepshelf.[6]
- Recipe 119 takes Infused Dragon's Breath and Dragon Breath.[6]
- Recipe 120 takes Hellshelf and Infused Hellshelf.[6]
Two other pack-added machine recipes also use this mod. One is an Auto Hepheastus Forge recipe built around the Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures. The other is a Runic Star Altar recipe that uses Infused Dragon's Breath alongside the ATM Star Shard and the Patrick Star. Both are shown below.[6]

Quests that cross over
The ATM Star questline pulls this mod in alongside others. Quest a quest in "?" has a very long item list. It includes Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures x5, Echoing Sculkshelf x5, Soul-Touched Sculkshelf x17 and Soul-Touched Deepshelf x5. Alongside those are Quantum Injector, Enchanting Table, Modular Machinery Reborn casings and Forbidden Arcanus darkstone blocks.[3]
The next quest, a quest in "?", asks for Infused Dragon's Breath and an enchanted book. a quest in "?" in the star chapter also asks for the breath.[3][4]
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Apothic Enchanting?
7 parts
The mod has its own quest chapter, "apothic_enchanting", and it also shows up in two other chapters. The dedicated chapter is basically a shelf-building roadmap: each quest asks you to obtain a shelf, and the later quests unlock after the earlier ones. Every quest in it is untitled in the pack files, so I'll point to them by reference.[2]
The apothic_enchanting chapter
Three quests open the chapter, all following the same starting quest. a quest in "?" asks for the Hellshelf, a quest in "?" asks for the Seashelf, and a quest in "?" asks for the Beeshelf, Stoneshelf and Melonshelf.[2]
Hellshelf line
- a quest in "?" comes after the Hellshelf quest and asks for 5 Infused Hellshelf.[2]
- Three quests branch off it: a quest in "?" for the Blazing Hellshelf, a quest in "?" for the Glowing Hellshelf, and a quest in "?" for both the Hellshelf of Sight and the Hellshelf of Masterful Sight.[2]
Seashelf line
- a quest in "?" follows the Seashelf quest and asks for the Infused Seashelf.[2]
- Three quests branch off it: a quest in "?" for the Crystalline Seashelf, a quest in "?" for the Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration, and a quest in "?" for the Heart-Forged Seashelf.[2]
Library line
This line hangs off a separate prerequisite quest that isn't part of this chapter's listing. a quest in "?" asks for the Enchantment Library, and a quest in "?" follows it with the Library of Alexandria. a quest in "?", from the same prerequisite, asks for the Inert Trident.[2]
Deepshelf, sculk and end shelves
- a quest in "?" asks for the Deepshelf. It needs both the Glowing Hellshelf quest and the Crystalline Seashelf quest done first, so the two lines above merge here.[2]
- Three quests follow: a quest in "?" for the Echoing Deepshelf, a quest in "?" for the Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability, and a quest in "?" for the Soul-Touched Deepshelf.[2]
- a quest in "?" (the Echoing Sculkshelf) follows the Echoing Deepshelf quest, and a quest in "?" (the Soul-Touched Sculkshelf) follows the Soul-Touched Deepshelf quest.[2]
- a quest in "?" needs both of those sculkshelf quests and asks for the Endshelf and Infused Dragon's Breath.[2]
- Two quests unlock next: a quest in "?" for the Draconic Endshelf and a quest in "?" for the Pearlescent Endshelf.[2]
The final quest
a quest in "?" comes after the Draconic Endshelf quest and is the biggest ask in the chapter. You need the Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures, 5 Echoing Sculkshelf, a Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability, a Beeshelf, 2 Heart-Forged Seashelf and 2 Draconic Endshelf.[2]
Quests in other chapters
Two more chapters use the mod. In the chapter with the internal id "achapter_2r_6the_atm_star", a quest in "?" asks for a long list of materials from several mods. The Apothic Enchanting items in it are 5 Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures, 5 Echoing Sculkshelf, 17 Soul-Touched Sculkshelf and 5 Soul-Touched Deepshelf. The quest after it, a quest in "?", asks for Infused Dragon's Breath and an enchanted book.[3]
In the chapter "chapter_2_the_star", a quest in "?" asks for Infused Dragon's Breath. It unlocks after another quest that isn't part of the Apothic Enchanting listing.[4]
