Apothic Enchanting in All the Mods 10: To the Sky
All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.1.0 ships version 1.6.3 · First seen in 1.0
Apothic Enchanting is a mod in All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.1.0, where it is version 1.6.3. A huge extension of the Enchanting system (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)
Stuck? Why it might not be working
- Apothic Enchanting: eterna stops short, and every slot says Limited EnchantabilityTwo separate things cap eterna in All the Mods 10 8.2: your World Tier sets a personal Max Eterna, and each enchanting shelf has its own eterna ceiling, so a wall of one shelf type stalls below 100 whatever your tier. "Limited Enchantability" is a different problem: it means the table had no enchantment to offer that slot, and it is not about the item's enchantability number.Written for other versions than All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.1.0 ships. Some steps may no longer match.
- Why arcana is not going upIn All the Mods 10 8.2, Apothic Enchanting 1.6.2, arcana has no ceiling of its own. A wall of vanilla bookshelves gives exactly 0. The item in the slot does not add any: that line was removed in 1.6.1, and this pack ships 1.6.2. A Brass Bookshelf config of 0.25 is a maximum of 25 on the 0 to 100 scale, not a multiplier. Arcana changes which enchantments you roll and how many are guaranteed. It does not raise the level.Written for other versions than All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.1.0 ships. What is Apothic Enchanting?
2 parts
Apothic Enchanting changes how enchanting works in the pack, which includes version 1.6.3. The pack's quest book introduces it by saying that enchanting gets a few changes, with new bookshelves and new actions you can do with enchantment tables.[1][2]
The quest book has separate Quanta and Arcana quests that ask you to bring a Hellshelf and a Seashelf. Its text says Quanta mixes up the enchantment pool but makes weaker enchantments more common the more you have, and that Arcana increases the number of enchantments you get and makes rare ones more common.[2]
What else it adds
- The quest book calls the Enchantment Library the single greatest enchanted book storage. It describes books being added to it and stored as points.[2]
- Tomes such as the Tome of the Miners and Tome of Weaponry give enchantments for particular kinds of gear. The quests say the Tome of Scrapping takes half the enchantments off an item and breaks it, while the Tome of Extraction takes them all off and leaves the item alone.[2]
- The quests describe the Flimsy Ender Lead as the cheapest and weakest ender lead: it can only hold animals and breaks after a limited number of uses. The Ender Lead is described as a step up that can hold hostile mobs too.[2]
- The quests say you can make an Inert Trident and infuse it to get a normal Trident.[2]
Where it sits in the quest book
In the pack's quest book, the chapter "Apothic Enchanting" sits in the group "Mod specific Quests" (chapter 33 of 54 in the book). Its first quest, "Apothic Enchanting" quest, asks you to bring an enchanting table or the Apothic Enchanting Table.[2]
In the quest book, the shelf quests "Hellshelves" quest and "Seashelves" quest come after the "Infusing" quest. "Infused Hellshelves" quest follows Hellshelves and "Infused Seashelf" quest follows Seashelves, and both also list "The Frontier Calls". "Crystalline Seashelf" quest follows the Infused Seashelf quest. The tome quests, such as "Tome of Scrapping" quest, follow "Tomes". a quest in "Apothic Enchanting" follows "Other Infusion Items", the Superior Scrapping quest and "Ascent to 60".[2]
The text of many of this chapter's quests is not shown in the sources for this page, so check the quest book for those.[2]
Unverified Whether the ATM Star quest path uses Apothic Enchanting is not shown by the sources here. Check the pack's quest book for that.
How do you get started with Apothic Enchanting?
4 parts
Welcome to Apothic Enchanting! In this pack the quest book has an "Apothic Enchanting" chapter that walks you through it. The opening quest text says that with the Apotheosis changes, 15 bookshelves around a table are no longer enough. Follow the steps below in order and you go from a plain table to a proper infusion setup.[2]
Step one: get an enchanting table
The first quest, "Apothic Enchanting" quest, asks for either a vanilla enchanting table or the Apothic Enchanting Table.[2]
The mod's own description calls the Apothic Enchanting Table a cosmetic variant of the Enchanting Table.[3]

Step two: know why basic shelves stop working
"Vanilla Max is just the start" quest explains the wall you hit first. Its text says that with only basic bookshelves, Eterna can only reach a max of 30, and that basic and vanilla bookshelves are interchangeable.[2]
The next quest, "Infusing" quest, introduces Infusion, which its text describes as a special version of enchanting used for better enchantments. The quest text says the enchantments offer Infusion once the right amounts of Eterna, Quanta and Arcana are reached. A later quest says Eterna sets the enchantment level and that its cap depends on World Tier, 30 on Haven and 45 on Frontier.[2]
Step three: pick Hellshelves or Seashelves
The quest book splits into two paths. Its text presents Hellshelf as your introduction to Quanta and Seashelf as your introduction to Arcana. The quests want 16 of the shelf you choose: 15 around the table and 1 to infuse. They ask you to craft the first 11 and promise to hand you the rest as a reward.[2]

The Infused Hellshelf quest says that 15 Hellshelves around the table give 45 Eterna and 30% Quanta, which is the amount it wants for infusing the last shelf. In the book, the infused shelf quests come after The Frontier Calls, and a gate quest after the two paths ties them to the Frontier World Tier quest from Apotheosis Gear.[2]

Step four: upgrade toward the Deepshelf
Your infused shelves are the base for the next tier. The quest book has you turn Infused Seashelves into Crystalline Seashelf and Infused Hellshelves into Glowing Hellshelf. The "Deepshelf" quest quest is where the two paths meet again: it asks you to infuse a Dormant Deepshelf into a Deepshelf, using 12 Crystalline Seashelves or 13 Glowing Hellshelves.[2]

How does Apothic Enchanting work?
6 parts
Apothic Enchanting is an enchanting overhaul, not a machine mod. The sources for this pack show no power, fluid or item-pipe handling for it. What they do show is a table, a set of bookshelf blocks, a library, and an "infusion" crafting type that upgrades some of those blocks. This page covers those parts.[3][4]
The enchanting stats
The mod's advancements show that enchanting is driven by the stats Eterna, Arcana and Quanta. You can enchant at 0%, 50% or 100% Quanta, and at 50% or 100% Arcana. One advancement asks for max Eterna and Arcana with 0% Quanta, and another asks for max stats plus Quantic Stability. There are also advancements for enchanting an item at level 30, 60, 80 and 100.[3]
The mod also states that there is a cap on how much Eterna you can use in an Enchanting Table.[3]

The Apothic Enchanting Table is described as a cosmetic variant of the Enchanting Table. The pack changed its recipe.[3][4]

Shelves
Shelves come in several families: plain bookshelves, Hellshelves, Seashelves, Endshelves and Deepshelves. There are also Sculkshelf and Melonshelf variants. The sources do not show what stat each shelf adds, but they do show how the shelves are crafted and upgraded.[3][4]
- The Basic Bookshelf, Beeshelf and Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability have ordinary crafting recipes, shown below.[4]
- Hellshelf line: you get an Infused Hellshelf through Infusion Enchanting. The Blazing Hellshelf and Hellshelf of Masterful Sight have their own recipes below, and the pack changed the Masterful Sight one. The Hellshelf of Sight is the Hellshelf of Sight.[3][4]
- Seashelf line: the Infused Seashelf also comes from Infusion Enchanting and can be upgraded. A separate advancement mentions an Altar of the Seas, which turns unwanted enchanted items into a new book.[3]
- Endshelf line: you need Infused Dragon's Breath to make an Endshelf. The Draconic Endshelf is the upgrade of it.[3][4]
- Deepshelf line: a Dormant Deepshelf has to be activated, and the infusion recipe turns it into a Deepshelf.[3][4]
- A Sculkshelf is created using a Warden Tendril.[3]

Infusion
Infusion is a recipe type of its own (apothic_enchanting:infusion). The sources list six such recipes that use this mod's items as ingredients: Dormant Deepshelf, Flimsy Ender Lead, Hellshelf, Seashelf, Tome of Scrapping and Tome of Superior Scrapping. The mod's "Infusion" enchantment is described as a placeholder for Enchantment Crafting.[3][4]
Infusion turns the Dormant Deepshelf into a Deepshelf.

Dragon's Breath becomes Infused Dragon's Breath, the key to the Endshelf line.
The pack also adds a second route to Infused Dragon's Breath. A Create filling recipe, changed by the pack, takes 250 of Infused Dragon's Breath from Create: Enchantment Industry plus a glass bottle.[4]

Libraries and Ender Leads
The Enchantment Library (Enchantment Library) has an infusion recipe of the keep_nbt_infusion type that gives the Library of Alexandria (Library of Alexandria). Ender Leads follow the same pattern with the Flimsy Ender Lead and the Ender Lead. The pack changed the Flimsy Ender Lead recipe. The recipes are below.[4]

Pack changes to enchantments
The pack ships its own data files for two of the mod's enchantments, and both carry a neoforge:false condition, which never passes. Miner's Fervor is described as "mine very fast, but never instantly". In that file it has a max level of 5 and is exclusive with Efficiency. Berserker's Fury makes you enraged when taking damage. In that file it has a max level of 3 and is meant for chest armor.[3][5][6]
Unverified Exact values such as how much Eterna, Arcana or Quanta each shelf adds, and how many shelves count around a table, are not shown in the sources here. The pack has no config files for this mod, and no in-jar guidebook was found.
How do you progress through Apothic Enchanting?
7 parts
The pack's quest book has a whole chapter for this mod, "Apothic Enchanting", in the "Mod specific Quests" group. It starts with "Apothic Enchanting" quest, which says 15 bookshelves won't be enough anymore and asks for an enchanting table or the Apothic Enchanting Table. The rest of the chapter is a ladder of better and better shelves, and that ladder is this section. The stats below are the ones the quest text gives, so check them in the quest book as you go.[2]

The pack changed this recipe from the mod's default.
The three stats and World Tiers
Everything is about Eterna, Quanta and Arcana. The quests say Eterna sets the enchantment level, and its maximum depends on your World Tier: 30 on Haven, 45 on Frontier, 60 on Ascent, 75 on Summit and 100 on Pinnacle. They describe Quanta as defaulting to 15% with a max of 100%, where having more makes weaker enchantments more common. Arcana is described as defaulting to 0% with a max of 100%, giving you more enchantments and making rare ones more common. See "Eterna" quest, "Quanta" quest and "Arcana" quest.[2]
Basic Bookshelf is where you start, but the quest says that with only Basic Bookshelves your Eterna tops out at 30 ("Vanilla Max is just the start" quest). If your Eterna refuses to climb past 30 later on, the quest explains it as the World Tier cap at work ("The Frontier Calls" quest).[2]

Tier 1: Hellshelf or Seashelf
After "Infusing" quest the quest book lets you pick a path. Its text says Hellshelf gives 3% Quanta and 3 Eterna, and Seashelf gives 3% Arcana and 3 Eterna. Either way the quests ask for 16 of them: 15 around the table and 1 to infuse. The quests are "Hellshelves" quest and "Seashelves" quest. A gate quest ("A Gate" quest) lets you take either path while forcing the Frontier World Tier quest from the Apotheosis Gear chapter.[2]

Tier 2: Infused shelves
The quests have you put 15 shelves around the table and infuse the 16th. They say an Infused Hellshelf gives 5 Eterna (max 60) and 5% Quanta ("Infused Hellshelves" quest), and an Infused Seashelf gives 5 Eterna (max 60) and 5% Arcana ("Infused Seashelf" quest).[2]

Infusion (apothic_enchanting)
Recipe id: apothic_enchanting:infusion/infused_seashelf
The quests then have you craft each infused shelf into an upgrade:[2]
- Glowing Hellshelf: the quest says it has the same Eterna and Quanta as the Infused Hellshelf, plus 3.3333% Arcana ("Glowing Hellshelf" quest).[2]
- Crystalline Seashelf: the quest says it keeps 5 Eterna and 5% Arcana and adds 3% Quanta ("Crystalline Seashelf" quest).[2]
- Heart-Forged Seashelf: the quest calls it a little expensive but says it gives lots of Arcana for later infusions ("Heart-Forged Seashelf" quest).[2]
- Blazing Hellshelf: the quest says it gives a bit of Quanta and Eterna, but not the cheap option you want for infusions ("Blazing Hellshelf" quest).[2]
A second gate ("Another Gate" quest) sits after the Glowing Hellshelf and Crystalline Seashelf quests, and its text calls it the last gate in the chapter.[2]
Tier 3: Deepshelves (Ascent)
"Ascent to 60" quest raises max Eterna to 60. Then "Deepshelf" quest is where, per the quest, the Hellshelf and Seashelf paths end. You craft a Dormant Deepshelf, then infuse it into a Deepshelf with 60 Eterna, 40% Quanta and 40% Arcana. The quest says 12 Crystalline Seashelves or 13 Glowing Hellshelves get you there.[2]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: apothic_enchanting:dormant_deepshelf
Two crafted upgrades follow. The quests say the Echoing Deepshelf gives 15% Arcana and raises max Eterna to 75 ("Echoing Deepshelf" quest), and the Soul-Touched Deepshelf gives 15% Quanta and also raises max Eterna to 75 ("Soul-Touched Deepshelf" quest).[2]
Tier 4: Sculkshelves
The quests say the next step is crafting, not infusion, and that you have to kill a Warden for it. The quest text gives the Echoing Sculkshelf 10 Eterna, 10% Quanta and 15% Arcana, and the Soul-Touched Sculkshelf 10 Eterna, 15% Quanta and 10% Arcana. Both are described as raising max Eterna to 80 ("Echoing Sculkshelf" quest, "Soul-Touched Sculkshelf" quest).[2]

Final tier: Pinnacle and the Endshelves
"Ahh, Pinnacle, at last" quest is described as the final World Tier, setting max Eterna to 100. With max Eterna at 80 the quests have you infuse Infused Dragon's Breath. The quest suggests 4 Echoing Sculkshelves, 4 Soul-Touched Sculkshelves and 6 Geode-Encased Bookshelves of Stability, which it says give 80 Eterna, 25% Quanta and 100% Arcana ("Infused Dragon's Breath" quest). The Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability is the one the quest says removes the increased chance of worse enchantments ("Negative Enchantments Removal" quest).[2]

The Endshelf is the quest book's "last and greatest" shelf. The quest says its stats currently aren't the best, only 5 for each, but its max Eterna is 90 ("Endshelves" quest). The Draconic Endshelf only gives Eterna but has a max of 100 according to its quest ("Draconic Endshelf" quest). The Pearlescent Endshelf also tops out at 90, which the quest says is not what you want for max enchanting ("Pearlescent Endshelf" quest).[2]

Side branches
- Scrapping tomes: the quest says Tome of Scrapping strips half the enchantments and breaks the item ("Tome of Scrapping" quest). Infusing it gives Tome of Superior Scrapping, which strips all of them but still breaks the item ("Tome of Superior Scrapping" quest). Infusing that gives Tome of Extraction, which strips everything and leaves the item alone (a quest in "Apothic Enchanting").[2]
- Ender Leads: the quest says the Flimsy Ender Lead only holds animals and breaks after 8 uses ("Flimsy Ender Lead" quest). The Ender Lead holds hostile mobs too and breaks after 64 uses, needing at least 45 Eterna, 25% Quanta and 40% Arcana ("Ender Lead" quest). The Occult Ender Lead is unbreakable, can bind mobs to spawners and needs 75 Eterna, 85% Quanta and 60-85% Arcana, plus a Witch in the lead ("Occult Ender Lead" quest).[2]
- Libraries: the quest says the Enchantment Library holds up to 32,768 points per book ("Enchantment Library" quest). Infusing it gives the Library of Alexandria, which the quest says holds 1.1 billion points of each book ("Library of Alexandria" quest).[2]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Apothic Enchanting?
3 parts
In the pack's quest book, Apothic Enchanting shows up in three chapters. Its own chapter, "Apothic Enchanting", sits in the "Mod specific Quests" group, and "Apothic Spawners" comes right after it. One quest in "Chapter 3: AllTheModium" (in the "Skyblock Quests" group) asks for one of the mod's items. The quest text is written by the pack author and some of it is hedged, for example telling you to ignore something "for now" or calling a shelf's stats not "currently" the best. So read everything below as what the quests say.[2][7][8]
The Apothic Enchanting chapter
This is the main chapter. According to its quests, it walks you from a plain enchanting table up to a maxed-out setup. Here is the main line, in order.[2]
- "Apothic Enchanting" quest opens the chapter and asks for an enchanting table or the Apothic Enchanting Table. "Vanilla Max is just the start" quest and "Infusing" quest follow it.[2]
- After Infusing the chapter branches. "Hellshelves" quest asks for the Hellshelf, and "Seashelves" quest asks for the Seashelf. The quest text presents these as two paths, Hellshelf or Seashelf. "Eterna" quest, "Quanta" quest and "Arcana" quest explain the three stats Eterna, Quanta and Arcana.[2]
- "A Gate" quest is a gate: its text says it lets you take either path while forcing the Frontier World Tier quest. "The Frontier Calls" quest follows it.[2]
- Next come "Infused Seashelf" quest (asks for the Infused Seashelf) and "Infused Hellshelves" quest (asks for the Infused Hellshelf). They lead on to "Crystalline Seashelf" quest (Crystalline Seashelf) and "Glowing Hellshelf" quest (Glowing Hellshelf).[2]
- "Another Gate" quest is described as the last gate in the chapter. After it come "Ascent to 60" quest and then "Deepshelf" quest, where the quest text says the Hellshelf and Seashelf paths end.[2]
- Deepshelf leads to "Echoing Deepshelf" quest and "Soul-Touched Deepshelf" quest. Those lead to "Echoing Sculkshelf" quest and "Soul-Touched Sculkshelf" quest, and the quest text says you need a Warden Tendril for those two.[2]
- "Ahh, Pinnacle, at last" quest is the final World Tier quest. Then "Infused Dragon's Breath" quest leads to "Endshelves" quest, which the quest text says currently has stats that are not the best, and then "Draconic Endshelf" quest.[2]
- "God-Fused Pearl" quest and "Best Enchanting set-up" quest come after the Draconic Endshelf. "Enchanting Table of the Raven" quest comes after the God-Fused Pearl and asks for the Enchanting Table of the Raven.[2]
Side branches
- Tomes: "Tomes" quest leads to "Tome of Scrapping" quest, "Armor Tomes" quest, "Tool Tomes" quest, "Weapon Tomes" quest and "ETC. Tomes" quest. The scrapping line continues with "Tome of Superior Scrapping" quest and then a quest in "Apothic Enchanting".[2]
- Ender Leads: "Flimsy Ender Lead" quest sets Soul Gems and Creature Catchers aside for now. Its text says the Flimsy Ender Lead holds animals only and breaks after 8 uses. "Ender Lead" quest is described as holding hostile mobs too and breaking after 64 uses. "Occult Ender Lead" quest is described as unbreakable and able to bind mobs to Spawners, and it comes after "To reach the Summit" quest.[2]
- Storage: "Enchantment Library" quest comes first. "Library of Alexandria" quest is its upgrade and comes after the Pinnacle quest.[2]
- Utility shelves: "Negative Enchantments Removal" quest, "Remove Enchantments from Pool" quest, "Enchanting Clues" quest and "Negative amounts" quest.[2]
Other chapters
In Apothic Spawners, a quest in "Apothic Spawners" asks for the Occult Ender Lead and sends you to the Apothic Enchanting chapter to learn how to get it. a quest in "Apothic Spawners" also points you there for the shelf setup behind Infused Spawner Runes. The Apothic Enchanting chapter has its own matching quest, "Infusing Spawner Runes" quest.[2][7]
In Chapter 3: AllTheModium, "VAT" quest asks for the Warden Tendril alongside a VAT and Soul Sand 1x. The quest presents it as an alternative way to make Soul Lava, and "Soul Lava" quest comes after it. Three quests in that chapter are not covered here, so check the quest book for them.[8]
