What is AllTheTweaks?

2 parts

AllTheTweaks is the mod behind the most famous goal in All the Mods 10: the ATM Star. In version 8.1 of the pack you're running AllTheTweaks 2.9.4, and it has been part of the pack since version 2.25 or earlier.[1][2]

Most of what this mod means for you shows up in the questbook. The chapter "Chapter 3: The ATM Star" is built around its items: you craft a series of special components that feed into the Star. If you're chasing the ATM Star, this is your mod.[2]

Where it fits on the ATM Star path

Each component quest unlocks only after a long list of other quests from across the pack. That makes the Star path a late-game project that pulls together almost everything you've built.[2]

Unverified The sources cut off before the final ATM Star quest and the rest of the component list, so the exact last steps and how Philosopher's Fuel fits in aren't confirmed here. Check the in-game questbook for the full order.

After your first Star

The journey doesn't stop at one Star. In "Chapter 4: Creative", you right-click a Patrick Bee with an ATM Star Block to get a Starry Bee. The bees need another ATM Star Block to pollinate, and they produce Starry Combs. Run those combs through a Centrifuge and you'll rarely get ATM Star Shard.[3]

Tip: Remaking 1 Star takes 262 Star Shards in total, so set up a strong bee operation before you start.[3]

How do you get started with AllTheTweaks?

6 parts

AllTheTweaks is the mod behind the big finish of All the Mods 10: the ATM Star. The quest for it asks "Does this mean you win?" and the answer is yes. Crafting the ATM Star means you have beaten the modpack. Everything else this mod adds is a stepping stone toward that star, so getting started really means planning your route to it.[2]

Know your goal first

The ATM Star is made in the Runic Star Altar. It combines a set of star components with a few other endgame items. Take a look at the final recipe early on so you know what you're building toward. You don't need to rush it, but it helps you spot which mods each component will pull you into.[2][4]

The components each have their own quest in the ATM Star chapter: "Patrick Star" quest, "Dimensional Seed" quest, "Dragon Soul" quest, "Oblivion Shard" quest, "Pulsating Black Hole" quest, "Wither's Compass" quest, "Improbable Probability Device" quest, "Nexium Emitter" quest and "Philosopher's Fuel" quest. Each quest only opens after you've made a collection of high-tier items from other mods. That makes every component a capstone for a whole chunk of the pack.[2]

Step 1: The Patrick Star

The Patrick Star is the friendliest component to start with. Its recipe is much simpler than the rest of the list. The pack gives you two ways to make it: a Mechanical Crafting recipe, and a Runic Star Altar recipe with the same inputs. Knock this one out early and you'll have a component in the bag.[4]

Step 2: The three miniature portals

Next, work on the Miniature Nether Portal, Miniature End Portal and Miniature Exit Portal. All three quests follow on from the Apothic Mods quests, and they lean heavily on Apotheosis enchanting shelves. So if you've been pushing your enchanting setup, you're already on the right track.[2]

The quests have a sense of humor about these. You're too big to walk through the Nether one. The Exit Portal, which the quest calls the most expensive portal you can make, can't actually be used at all. Its quest also suggests farming Dragon Eggs instead of repeatedly fighting the Dragon.[2]

Step 3: The Dimensional Seed

Once your three mini portals are done, they feed straight into the Dimensional Seed, described in its quest as a Garden of Eden in just a single seed. That's your second component finished.[2][4]

Step 4: Work through the rest

The remaining components are best tackled as you naturally progress through the mods they draw on. Check each quest's prerequisites to see which one lines up with the tech or magic you're already doing, and work from there.[2]

Tip: Every component recipe here was added by the pack itself, so trust the in-game recipe viewer and the recipes on this page. Recipes you remember from other packs don't apply.[4]

Handy blocks along the way

AllTheTweaks also adds a Nether Star Block and an Ender Pearl Block, crafted from Nether Stars and Ender Pearls. These are useful for keeping your stockpiles tidy while you grind toward the star.[4]

How does AllTheTweaks work?

3 parts

Here's the honest picture first: the sources for this pack describe no machines, multiblocks, or power, fluid or item transport for this mod. What they do show is a small set of pack settings and a web of recipes. So instead of a machine tour, this section covers the config switches and how the mod's items fit together through crafting.[4][5]

Pack settings

The mod's common config holds a handful of pack-level settings. In All the Mods 10 8.1, most of them stay at the mod's defaults. The one exception is Discord Rich Presence, which the pack switches off.[5]

  • discord.discord controls Discord Rich Presence. The pack sets it to false, so it's off.[5]
  • packmode.enable picks the pack mode, from 0 to 8: ATM = 0, SLOP = 1, SKY = 2, MAGIC = 3, EXPERT = 4, GRAVITAS = 5, LITE = 6, AOA = 7, MON = 8. The pack uses 0, the ATM mode, which is also the mod default.[5]
  • packversionmaj.major, packversionmin.minor and packversionminrev.minorrev hold the pack's release version, minor version and minor revision. They're set to 1, 0 and 0, matching the mod defaults. Each accepts values from 0 to 32768.[5]

Storage blocks

The simplest part of the mod is its storage blocks. You can pack ATM Stars, Ender Pearls and Nether Stars into ATM Star Block, Ender Pearl Block and Nether Star Block with shaped recipes. These recipes take items by tag, so any matching item works. The ATM Star Block also has a shapeless recipe that turns it back into ATM Star.[4]

Pack-added crafting components

Most of the mod's items get their recipes from the pack itself. That covers Miniature Nether Portal, Miniature End Portal, Miniature Exit Portal, Dimensional Seed, Dragon Soul, Improbable Probability Device, Nexium Emitter, Oblivion Shard, Philosopher's Fuel and Wither's Compass. Each is a shaped recipe that pulls in parts from many other mods in the pack. That makes these items a way to show off progress across the whole modlist.[4]

There's also a chain here. The three miniature portals are crafted on their own, and the Dimensional Seed recipe then builds on them. So plan to make the portals first.[4]

How do you progress through AllTheTweaks?

4 parts

In this pack, AllTheTweaks is the endgame. The quest chapter "Chapter 3: The ATM Star" builds up to a single goal, the ATM Star. The final quest, "ATM Star" quest, tells you outright that making it means you have beaten the modpack. Every component on the way is a big crafting project that pulls from many other mods, so think of this chapter as your long-term roadmap.[2]

Step one: the miniature portals

Your first real milestone is the three miniature portals. Each one is its own quest (a quest in "Chapter 3: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 3: The ATM Star" and a quest in "Chapter 3: The ATM Star"), and each unlocks after the Apothic Mods quests. They lean heavily on Apotheosis enchanting shelves, so a solid enchanting setup comes first. The quest text is clear that these portals are crafting parts only. You can't actually walk through them.[2]

Miniature Exit Portal

Tip: The quest calls the Miniature Exit Portal the most expensive portal you can make. You don't have to keep killing the Ender Dragon for Dragon Eggs, though. The quest suggests getting them with HNN or MA, or using an Extractor to make more.[2]

Once you have all three portals, they go into the Dimensional Seed, tracked by the "Dimensional Seed" quest quest. That quest requires all three portal quests to be completed first.[2][4]

The star components

The rest of the chapter is a set of component quests. Each one gathers late-game items from across the pack into one crafted part. The pack adds all of these recipes itself, so the in-game recipe is the one that counts.[2][4]

Assembling the ATM Star

With every component done, you assemble the ATM Star in the Runic Star Altar using a recipe the pack adds. The "ATM Star" quest quest also expects you to have the Runic Star Altar, The Star's Casing and Creative Essence ready. Make sure those are sorted before you start the final craft.[2][4]

The ATM Star, crafted in the Runic Star Altar

You can store stars as an ATM Star Block and turn the block back into stars whenever you need them. That matters for the next chapter, because the Creative chapter uses ATM Star Blocks.[3][4]

Beyond the first star: automating ATM Stars

Making one ATM Star doesn't end the progression. "Chapter 4: Creative" shows you how to rebuild stars again and again so you can craft Creative items.[3]

  1. "Starry Bee!" quest: Right-click a Patrick Bee with an ATM Star Block to get a Starry Bee. You'll need another ATM Star Block for the bees to pollinate.[3]
  2. "Star Shards" quest: Starry Combs go into a Centrifuge and rarely give ATM Star Shard. Remaking one star takes 262 Star Shards in total, so build a big bee setup.[3][4]
  3. "Infused Patrick Star" quest: Craft the Infused Patrick Star in the Runic Star Altar. It needs a Patrick Star, Star Shards and other late-game materials, plus 85MFE.[3]
  4. "Fully Automated ATM Star" quest: Use the Infused Patrick Star and the Star Fragments to rebuild ATM Stars 100% automated in the Runic Star Altar.[3]

How does AllTheTweaks work with other mods?

    4 parts

AllTheTweaks is the glue behind the pack's endgame. Almost every item it adds is crafted from other mods' hardest items, and in return the ATM Star unlocks creative items for a whole range of mods. All of these connections are recipes the pack itself adds or changes, so you'll find them in the quest book rather than in the mod's default setup.[2][3][4]

    Building the ATM Star

The ATM Star is assembled on the Runic Star Altar, as the quests call it, bringing the AllTheTweaks components together with endgame materials from several other mods. The quest book treats finishing it as beating the modpack ("ATM Star" quest).[2][4]

Each component is its own cross-mod challenge. Every one has a quest that walks you through the items you'll need from other mods.[2][4]

Creative items from the ATM Star

Once you have a Star, it becomes the key to other mods' creative-tier items. The pack adds Star recipes for the Creative Energy Cell, Energy Cell (Creative), Creative Energy Battery, Creative Energy Cube, Creative Compressor, Creative Compressed Iron Block, Creative Source Jar, Creative Blaze Cake, Creative Spell Book, Creative Blood Drop and a jetpack.[4]

The ATM Star Block is used for the Creative Fluid Tank and Creative Chemical Tank. The ATM Star Shard goes into the Creative Locomotive.[4]

    Automating Stars with bees

Right-click a Patrick Bee with an ATM Star Block to get a Starry Bee ("Starry Bee!" quest). The bees need another ATM Star Block to pollinate. Their combs can be centrifuged into ATM Star Shards and Nether Star Shard, though the shards only drop rarely. Patrick combs centrifuge into Patrick Star and Wax.[3][4]

On the Star Altar, you infuse shards with Forbidden Arcanus prisms such as the Smelter Prism to make the five Star parts. Those parts, plus Corrupti Dust, Mundabitur Dust and the Lens of the Killer (WIP), rebuild the ATM Star ("Fully Automated ATM Star" quest).[3][4]

    ATM StarAdded by the pack

The quest also has you make an Infused Patrick Star on the Star Altar ("Infused Patrick Star" quest). It uses a Patrick Star, the three Allthemodium alloy ingots, Star Shards and Infused Dragon's Breath, plus 85MFE of power.[3][4]

Tip: You'll need 262 Star Shards to remake a single Star, so build a big bee setup before you commit.[3]

    Other connections

The pack changed the compression recipes so that the ATM Star Block and Nether Star Block compress into their 1x versions, and the 1x Ender Pearl, Nether Star and ATM Star blocks decompress back into the AllTheTweaks blocks. ATM Star Shards also appear in the hard recipe for the imperial bee spawn egg.[4]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use AllTheTweaks?

    2 parts

AllTheTweaks is the mod behind the ATM Star, so its items show up right at the end of the pack. You'll find them in two quest chapters: Chapter 3: The ATM Star, where you build your first star, and Chapter 4: Creative, where you turn the star into something you can mass-produce.[2][3]

    Chapter 3: The ATM Star

This chapter is the pack's endgame. Every big component is its own quest, and each one depends on a long list of late-game items from across the pack. All of them feed into the final "ATM Star" quest quest, where you make the ATM Star.[2]

Start with the three miniature portals. a quest in "Chapter 3: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 3: The ATM Star" and a quest in "Chapter 3: The ATM Star" ask for the Miniature Nether Portal, Miniature End Portal and Miniature Exit Portal. All three unlock after the Apothic Mods quest and lean heavily on Apotheosis enchanting shelves. The quest text calls the Exit Portal the most expensive portal you can make. Don't expect to use them as real portals, though: the quests joke that you're too big to walk through them.[2]

Together with other prerequisites, the three portals unlock "Dimensional Seed" quest, which asks for the Dimensional Seed.[2]

The rest of the star components each have their own quest, and you can work on them in any order:[2]

Once all of those are done, plus a few extras like the Runic Star Altar and The Star's Casing, you can finish "ATM Star" quest. The quest confirms it: crafting the ATM Star means you've beaten the modpack.[2]

    Chapter 4: Creative

After your first star, the Creative chapter shows you how to make more with bees. In "Starry Bee!" quest, you right-click a Patrick Bee with an ATM Star Block to get a Starry Bee. You'll need another ATM Star Block for the bees to pollinate. Starry Bees make Starry Combs, and running those through a Centrifuge rarely gives you Star Shards.[3]

Next, "Star Shards" quest asks for an ATM Star Shard. The quest warns that you need 262 Star Shards in total to remake one star, so build a solid bee setup before you start.[3]

Tip: Star Shards only drop rarely from Starry Combs, and you need 262 of them per star. Scale up your Starry Bee setup early instead of waiting on a single hive.[3]

Then comes "Infused Patrick Star" quest. This quest asks for a Patrick Star, but the text explains that the goal is an Infused Patrick Star. Both are made in the Runic Star Altar, and the Infused version needs a regular Patrick Star plus Star Shards from your bees.[3]

Finally, "Fully Automated ATM Star" quest brings everything together. You combine the Infused Patrick Star with the star parts you build from your shards to make new ATM Stars, 100% automated. From here, the creative items become much easier to craft.[3]

    Which AllTheTweaks config options matter?

    3 parts

The AllTheTweaks common config is short: one Discord toggle, a pack mode selector and three pack version fields. For every option where a mod default is listed, All the Mods 10 8.1 keeps that default, so there are no pack-specific overrides to watch for here.[5]

    Discord Rich Presence

discord.discord turns on Discord Rich Presence, which shows what you're playing on your Discord profile. The pack sets it to false, so it's off unless you turn it on yourself.[5]

    Pack mode

packmode.enable takes a number from 0 to 8, and each number stands for a different pack. All the Mods 10 8.1 uses 0 (ATM), which is also the mod default.[5]

    • 0 is ATM, the value this pack uses.[5]
    • 1 is SLOP, 2 is SKY, 3 is MAGIC and 4 is EXPERT.[5]
    • 5 is GRAVITAS, 6 is LITE, 7 is AOA and 8 is MON.[5]

Unverified The sources don't say what changes in-game when you switch pack mode, so it's best to leave it at 0 in All the Mods 10.

    Pack version numbers

Three fields store a pack version in major, minor and revision parts: packversionmaj.major, packversionmin.minor and packversionminrev.minorrev. Each one accepts 0 to 32,768. In All the Mods 10 8.1 they're set to 1, 0 and 0, all matching the mod defaults, even though the pack release itself is 8.1.[5]

Unverified The sources don't say where these version numbers are shown or what they affect, so there's no confirmed reason to edit them.

What changed in AllTheTweaks between versions?
