What is Ender IO?
1 part
Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod. It brings armor, tools, weapons, machines, conduits, inventory management and even mobs into your world. This pack ships Ender IO 8.1.1-beta.[1][2]
Conduits are how you link your setup together. They come in several types: item, fluid, energy and redstone. There are also conduits for Applied Energistics 2 ME, Refined Storage and Mekanism chemicals.[1]
Where you run into it in the pack
- Productive Bees alloy quests: the bee quests ask you to hand in a bee-related item together with an Ender IO alloy block. They include "Soularium Bee" quest, "Pulsating Alloy Bee" quest, "Vibrant Alloy Bee" quest, "Conductive Alloy Bee" quest, "Dark Steel Bee" quest, "Energetic Alloy Bee" quest, "Redstone Alloy Bee" quest and "End Steel Bee" quest. The quests are labelled as made in the Alloy Smelter. The blocks involved are Soularium Block, Pulsating Alloy Block, Vibrant Alloy Block, Conductive Alloy Block, Dark Steel Block, Energetic Alloy Block, Redstone Alloy Block and End Steel Block.[3]
- "Bee Of Infinity" quest asks for Reinforced Obsidian. Its quest text says a BlazBee pollinating an Obsidian Bee Spawn Egg converts it into an Infinity Bee Spawn Egg.[3]
- Mob spawning: the Apothic Spawners chapter has a quest for the Powered Spawner, which it describes as the Mob Spawner made using Ender IO. You need a filled Soul Vial and a Broken Spawner to craft it. Once it's placed, you give it a Capacitor and power it. The quest says it can also fill Soul Vials directly.[4]
- Wrenches: the Yeta Wrench is one of the wrenches the pack's Industrial Foregoing chapter lists for rotating Industrial Foregoing machines. The quest author tested them mainly on the Laser Drill and warns that some wrenches might not work on other machines.[5]
How do you get started with Ender IO?
5 parts
Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod with machines, conduits, tools, armor and more. Here's a sensible order for your first crafts, based on what the pack's files show.[1]
First: the Basic Capacitor
Start with the Basic Capacitor. Ender IO machines tell you to insert a capacitor so they can work, and the machine status reads "Install a capacitor to be able to use this machine". Make it first, so it's ready when you build your first machine.[6][7]

Second: the Alloy Smelter
Next comes the Alloy Smelter. The pack's Productive Bees quests, such as "Soularium Bee" quest and "Pulsating Alloy Bee" quest, are marked "Made in Alloy Smelter". They ask for blocks like Soularium Block and Pulsating Alloy Block, so this machine is your way into the alloy line.[3]

Third: a Capacitor Bank
Ender IO has an advancement for building a Capacitor Bank, which makes it a good early goal. The Basic Capacitor Bank is the one to build first. There is also an Advanced Capacitor Bank, which has a recipe that upgrades a Basic Capacitor Bank.[6][7]

Fourth: the Yeta Wrench
The Yeta Wrench is worth having. A quest in the Industrial Foregoing chapter (a quest in "Industrial Foregoing") lists it among the wrenches that can rotate Industrial Foregoing machines. The quest author tested mainly on the Laser Drill and says some wrenches might not work with other machines.[5]

Looking ahead
Once you're comfortable, the Powered Spawner quest (a quest in "Apothic Spawners") is a fun goal. It needs a filled Soul Vial and a Broken Spawner, and after placing it you give it a capacitor and power it.[4]
How does Ender IO work?
5 parts
Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod: machines, conduits, inventory management, armor, tools and more. It is being rewritten from the ground up, so some features from older versions may not have been ported yet. This section covers the systems the available material actually explains.[1]
Machines need a capacitor
Ender IO machines won't run until you put a capacitor in them. An empty machine tells you to insert any capacitor so it can work, and its status reads: install a capacitor to be able to use this machine.[6]
Capacitors also change how a machine behaves. Their tooltips list modifiers for energy capacity, energy use, burning energy generation and fuel efficiency.[6]
The starting point is the Basic Capacitor:[7]

Reading a machine's status
When a machine isn't working, its status tells you why. These are the states the mod reports:[6]
- Active: the machine is running.[6]
- Blocked by redstone: a redstone signal is stopping the machine.[6]
- No energy: there isn't enough power to use the machine.[6]
- Energy full: the energy storage is full.[6]
- Input empty: there is no item in the input.[6]
- Output full: there isn't enough room for the output.[6]
- No capacitor: install a capacitor to use the machine.[6]
- Drain: it needs a source block under it to work.[6]
The SAG Mill shows output chances in its tooltips, and those chances are modified by the grinding ball you use.[6]
Power
The mod's energy unit is equivalent to FE, so it works with other mods' FE-based power.[6]
For storage, build a Capacitor Bank. There is even an advancement for placing one. Start with the Basic Capacitor Bank:[6][7]

For generation, the photovoltaic cell produces power during daylight hours and needs a clear line of sight to the sky.[6]
Conduits
Conduits move things between your machines. The mod lists these conduit types: item, fluid, energy, redstone, Applied Energistics 2 ME, Refined Storage and Mekanism chemicals.[1]
Fluid conduits can carry multiple fluids on the same line. Conduit tooltips show both a raw rate (per network tick) and an effective rate: mB/t for fluids and items per second for items. They also show how many network ticks happen per second. Check the in-game tooltips for the actual numbers.[6]
Conduit facades have special variants. Hardened facades resist breaking and explosions. Transparent facades hide conduits when painted with a translucent block. A conduit probe can hold copied conduit data.[6]
The pack adds recipes that combine a Conduit Binder with an Applied Energistics 2 cable to craft an Ender IO conduit. There is a recipe for glass cable, covered cable and dense covered cable.[7]

Filters
Filters control what your automation moves. The pack has the Basic Item Filter, Advanced Item Filter, Basic Fluid Filter and Basic Soul Filter, plus the Redstone AND Filter and Redstone NAND Filter.[7]
Use a filter while crouching to configure it. If a filter warns that it uses component matching that is no longer available, clear it in the crafting grid to remove the warning.[6]

How do you progress through Ender IO?
4 parts
In the quests I can see for this pack, Ender IO doesn't get its own chapter with a tier-by-tier ladder. It shows up inside three other chapters: Productive Bees, Apothic Spawners and Industrial Foregoing. So this section follows those quests together with the in-pack recipes, and the order below is a practical path through them.[3][4][5]
Step 1: The Alloy Smelter
Most of the Ender IO quests here point at the Alloy Smelter, because the quest descriptions mark the alloy bees as made in it. Craft it first.[3]
Crafting Shaped
| any iron gear | any iron gear | |
| any iron ingot | any obsidian | any iron ingot |
Recipe id: enderio:alloy_smelter
This is the mod's own recipe, not changed by the pack.
Step 2: The alloy ladder
The Productive Bees chapter is where the alloys show up as quest tasks. Each bee quest asks you to hand in the matching alloy block, and all of them unlock after the same earlier quest in that chapter. The alloy blocks it asks for are:[3]
- Conductive Alloy Block, from "Conductive Alloy Bee" quest[3]
- Energetic Alloy Block, from "Energetic Alloy Bee" quest[3]
- Vibrant Alloy Block, from "Vibrant Alloy Bee" quest[3]
- Pulsating Alloy Block, from "Pulsating Alloy Bee" quest[3]
- Redstone Alloy Block, from "Redstone Alloy Bee" quest[3]
- Soularium Block, from "Soularium Bee" quest[3]
- Dark Steel Block, from "Dark Steel Bee" quest[3]
- End Steel Block, from "End Steel Bee" quest[3]
- A copper alloy block, from "Copper Alloy Bee" quest[3]
The pack also has compressed versions of these blocks. Their decompress recipes are marked as changed by the pack, and they give you back the normal Ender IO blocks.[7]
The same chapter has "Bee Of Infinity" quest, which asks for Reinforced Obsidian among its tasks. Its quest text says a BlazBee pollinating an Obsidian Bee Spawn Egg converts it into an Infinity Bee Spawn Egg.[3]

Step 3: Capacitors and banks
Power gear has the clearest tiers. You start with the Basic Capacitor, then move up to the Double-Layer Capacitor. Both are listed as mod recipes, so the pack hasn't changed them.[7]

Capacitor banks follow the same path. The Basic Capacitor Bank comes first, and a dedicated upgrade recipe turns it into the Advanced Capacitor Bank. A separate recipe that makes the advanced bank directly also exists.[7]

Step 4: Spawner and utility goals
The Apothic Spawners chapter has one Ender IO quest, a quest in "Apothic Spawners", for the Powered Spawner. The quest says you need a filled Soul Vial and a Broken Spawner. Once it's placed, give it a capacitor and power it. It can also fill Soul Vials directly.[4]

How does Ender IO work with other mods?
7 parts
Ender IO shows up in recipes and quests from several other mods in this pack. These are the connections the in-pack recipes and quests confirm.[3][7]
Mekanism
The pack adds recipes that turn Mekanism pressurized tubes (basic, advanced and elite) and the advanced thermodynamic conductor into Ender IO conduits. Two more pack-added recipes give a conduit from Infused Alloy and from Reinforced Alloy, and their ids mark them as upgrades of the basic and advanced tube recipes. This fits with Ender IO's own conduit list, which includes a Mekanism Chemicals conduit type.[1][7]

Ex Deorum
Grains of Infinity come from sieving Ex Deorum Dust. The pack changed these recipes, and they work with flint, string, iron, golden, diamond and netherite meshes. The compressed sieve has a matching recipe for each mesh type.[7]
Sieve (exdeorum)
Recipe id: exdeorum:sieve/dust/iron/grains_of_infinity

Productive Bees
Ender IO materials have their own bees. The pack's Productive Bees centrifuge recipes for the Ender IO honeycombs give you the matching nugget plus Wax. That covers conductive, copper, dark steel, end steel, energetic, pulsating, redstone and vibrant alloys, soularium, and a separate infinity honeycomb that gives Grains of Infinity.[7]
The Productive Bees quest chapter has a quest for each of these bees. Most are tagged "Made in Alloy Smelter" and ask for a bee item together with the matching Ender IO block.[3]
- "Soularium Bee" quest asks for a Soularium Block.[3]
- "Pulsating Alloy Bee" quest asks for a Pulsating Alloy Block.[3]
- "Vibrant Alloy Bee" quest asks for a Vibrant Alloy Block.[3]
- "Energetic Alloy Bee" quest asks for an Energetic Alloy Block.[3]
- "Redstone Alloy Bee" quest asks for a Redstone Alloy Block.[3]
- "Conductive Alloy Bee" quest asks for a Conductive Alloy Block.[3]
- "Copper Alloy Bee" quest asks for an Ender IO copper alloy block.[3]
- "Dark Steel Bee" quest asks for a Dark Steel Block.[3]
- "End Steel Bee" quest asks for an End Steel Block.[3]
- "Bee Of Infinity" quest is the odd one out: it asks for Reinforced Obsidian and isn't tagged as made in the Alloy Smelter. Its quest text says a BlazBee pollinating an Obsidian Bee Spawn Egg converts it into an Infinity Bee Spawn Egg.[3]
All the Compressed
Every Ender IO alloy block listed above has pack-changed compress and decompress recipes with All the Compressed: conductive, copper, dark steel, end steel, energetic, pulsating, redstone and vibrant alloy, plus soularium. For example, Dark Steel Block turns into Dark Steel Block 1x and back.[7]

Spawners and wrenches
The Apothic Spawners quest chapter includes a quest for Ender IO's spawner, Powered Spawner (a quest in "Apothic Spawners"). Its quest text says you need a filled Soul Vial and a Broken Spawner, then you place the Powered Spawner, give it a Capacitor and power it. It can also fill Soul Vials directly.[4]
The Yeta Wrench is also one of the wrenches listed in the Industrial Foregoing chapter (a quest in "Industrial Foregoing") as able to rotate Industrial Foregoing machines. The quest text says this was tested mainly on the Laser Drill, so some wrenches might not work on other machines.[5]
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Ender IO?
3 parts
Ender IO shows up in three quest chapters in this pack: Productive Bees, Apothic Spawners and Industrial Foregoing. Productive Bees is by far the biggest, so let's start there.[3][4][5]
Productive Bees
This chapter has a whole set of alloy bee quests. They all unlock after the same prerequisite quest, so there's no fixed order between them. You can do them in any order you like.[3]
Every one of them has two tasks. The first is a bee-related item: a configurable honeycomb, a configurable comb, a configurable bee spawn egg, a bee cage or a sturdy bee cage. Any one of those counts. The second is the matching Ender IO block.[3]
- "Soularium Bee" quest asks for a Soularium Block.[3]
- "Pulsating Alloy Bee" quest asks for a Pulsating Alloy Block.[3]
- "Vibrant Alloy Bee" quest asks for a Vibrant Alloy Block.[3]
- "Copper Alloy Bee" quest asks for a copper alloy block.[3]
- "Conductive Alloy Bee" quest asks for a Conductive Alloy Block.[3]
- "Dark Steel Bee" quest asks for a Dark Steel Block.[3]
- "Energetic Alloy Bee" quest asks for an Energetic Alloy Block.[3]
- "Redstone Alloy Bee" quest asks for a Redstone Alloy Block.[3]
- "End Steel Bee" quest asks for an End Steel Block.[3]
All of the quests above are tagged "Made in Alloy Smelter" in the pack, so that's where the blocks come from.[3]
"Bee Of Infinity" quest is the odd one out. It asks for a Reinforced Obsidian alongside the same bee items, and it isn't tagged as made in the Alloy Smelter. Its quest text says that a BlazBee pollinating an Obsidian Bee Spawn Egg converts it into an Infinity Bee Spawn Egg.[3]
Apothic Spawners
a quest in "Apothic Spawners" is a single quest labelled "EnderIO's Spawner", and it asks you to obtain the Powered Spawner. It unlocks after an earlier quest in the same chapter.[4]
The quest text calls it the Mob Spawner made using Ender IO. You first need a filled Soul Vial and a Broken Spawner. Technically only the Soul Vial is needed to change the spawner. Once you have a Broken Spawner you like, you craft the Powered Spawner with it, place it down, give it a Capacitor and power it. The text also says this spawner can fill Soul Vials directly, with no Clicker needed.[4]
Industrial Foregoing
a quest in "Industrial Foregoing" is a wrench compatibility quest. Its text explains that most wrenches can't rotate Industrial Foregoing machines, so the author compiled a list of wrenches that can. They were tested mainly on the Laser Drill, and some may not work on other machines.[5]
The task accepts any one of several wrenches, and the Yeta Wrench is one of them. The others are the Supplementaries wrench, the Immersive Engineering hammer, the Just Dire Things Ferricore wrench and the PneumaticCraft pneumatic wrench.[5]
Which Ender IO config options matter?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.11 guide
There's nothing to tune here. The pack ships no config files for this mod, so every option runs at whatever the mod itself defaults to, and nothing has been changed for this pack.[1]
That also means you don't need to touch anything before you start building machines and conduits. Energy, item, fluid, redstone, Applied Energistics 2 ME, Refined Storage and Mekanism chemical conduits are all present in the version bundled here, as are the machines, armor, weapons, tools, enchantments and decorative blocks.[1]
Unverified Any in-game config screen this mod may expose has not been checked against the pack, so treat anything you find there as mod defaults rather than pack-tuned values.
What changed in Ender IO between versions?
5 parts
All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.9.1 ships Ender IO 8.1.1-beta, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier. Here are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs, oldest first, so you can see how it got to the version you're playing.[2]
7.1.8-alpha
This build was later marked as a beta, and the changelog recommends it over the 8.0 alphas if you want stability. It fixed powered machines not updating state correctly, ported a fix for loading large conduit networks from 1.20.1, and updated to the beta release of Refined Storage.[8]
8.0.3-alpha
This was the big one. It followed hotfixes for world load problems with conduits upgraded from 7.x saves (8.0.1 and 8.0.2), and 8.0.3 itself fixed the freeze during world load. The save data format changed, so the upgrade is one way and reverting to 7.x is not supported.[9]
The headline feature is a rewrite of the core conduit block logic and data storage, with much more efficient ticking. Here is what came with it:[9]
- You can open the filter GUI from the conduit GUI, and FTB Ultimine can now vein mine individual conduits or facades within bundles.[9]
- Item, energy, fluid and chemical conduits gained a priority option. Energy conduits also got buffed rates and distribute energy equally across all outputs with the same priority.[9]
- Redstone conduits gained a "strong power" option, and their UI labels and layout were updated to match 1.12.2.[9]
- Filters got bigger, and an advanced item filter and big item filter variants were added.[9]
- The primitive alloy smelter was removed, and the Alloy Smelter and SAG Mill no longer require dark steel to craft. Raw ore SAG Mill recipes were buffed.[9]
- New additions include the powered spawner capture mode, the Attractor Obelisk, the Weather Obelisk, the wireless charger with range extending antennas, VAT recipes and a Mind killer upgrade for the powered spawner.[9]
- Removed: the old enchantments code (enchantments are not being re-added to Ender IO for now), the light and powered light blocks, and the wood and stone gear.[9]
- Recipes changed for the void chassis, enchanter and stirling generator, and the yeta wrench recipe was simplified.[9]
8.0.4-alpha
A small update. The Conduit Probe was ported to 1.21.1, and a Soul Vial whitelist tag was added so modpacks can bypass the blacklist. It also fixed a bug where releasing a mob from a stack of vials deleted the rest of the vials in the stack.[10]
8.0.7-alpha
A hotfix that fixed a hang-on-load when using the attractor obelisk.[11]
8.1.1-beta (current in this pack)
The version in 1.9.1 is a small feature and bug fix release. Energy throttling was removed, and machines that send energy now distribute it evenly. A whitelist tag for capturing and spawning mobs was also added.[2][12]
- Fixed: with Iris shaders in use, facades are now hidden instead of being made transparent.[12]
- Fixed: item conduits could not be upgraded in place.[12]
- Fixed: a logic problem with travel anchors.[12]
The changelog also lists work-in-progress features locked behind feature flags, called experiments. It says they shouldn't be enabled on your primary world.[12]
