What is Ender IO?
1 part
Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod. It adds machines, conduits, inventory management, armor, tools, weapons and even mobs, so it's a big part of any tech playthrough. If you like building automated bases and moving items, fluids and power around with conduits, this mod is for you.[1]
This pack ships Ender IO 8.2.11-beta. The mod is being rewritten from the ground up, so some features from older versions may not have been ported yet.[1][2]
Where it fits in the pack
The pack has a dedicated EnderIO quest chapter that walks you through the early and mid-tier machines. It starts with "Grains of Infinity" quest. You get Grains of Infinity by setting Bedrock on fire, and each ignition has only a small chance of dropping one. You only need a handful to get started.[3]
Ender IO runs on its own energy, Micro Infinity (µI). Nearly every machine needs a capacitor installed, so "Basic Capacitor" quest is your next stop. The Alloy Smelter won't turn on without at least a Basic Capacitor. Once it runs, it smelts ores like a furnace and forges alloys such as Dark Steel.[3]
After that, "Void Chassis" quest is the key step. The Void Chassis is the base frame for most early and mid-tier machines, and a lot of the chapter unlocks after it:[3]
- Stirling Generator: burns solid fuels like coal or charcoal for your first µI power.[3]
- SAG Mill: grinds ores, often with bonus outputs, and gets faster with Grinding Balls in its upgrade slot.[3]
- Crafter: automates a crafting recipe once ingredients arrive by conduit or hopper.[3]
- Basic Capacitor Bank: a battery for your base that unlocks after the Basic Capacitor.[3]
Unverified The sources I have don't show where Ender IO sits on the ATM Star path, so treat it as unconfirmed.
How do you get started with Ender IO?
7 parts
Ender IO has its own quest chapter in the pack, and the early quests chain in a clear order. Everything runs on µI (Micro Infinity), the mod's own energy. Here is the order I'd follow.[3]
First: Grains of Infinity
Your first goal is Grains of Infinity (quest "Grains of Infinity" quest). You get them by setting Bedrock on fire, and igniting a bedrock block only has a small chance of dropping one. You only need a handful, because they seed almost every basic Ender IO recipe.[3]
The pack has fire-crafting recipes that give Grains of Infinity, one for bedrock and one for deepslate. The bedrock one can also give you a Suspicious Seed.[4]

Next: Basic Capacitor
Then make the Basic Capacitor (quest "Basic Capacitor" quest). Nearly every Ender IO machine needs a capacitor installed before it will work.[3]

The quest text for this item describes its material differently from the recipe above. Always go by the recipe block, because it is the one that works in the pack.[3][4]
Then: Void Chassis
The Void Chassis (quest "Void Chassis" quest) is the base frame for most early and mid-tier machines. You'll make plenty of them, so it's worth stockpiling Dark Steel Ingot for it.[3]
Your first machine: Alloy Smelter
With Grains of Infinity in hand and the chassis done, build the Alloy Smelter (quest "Alloy Smelter" quest), which comes after the Void Chassis quest. It smelts ores like a furnace and forges the alloys the rest of the mod depends on. It needs at least a Basic Capacitor installed, as above.[3]

Power it up
The Stirling Generator (quest "Stirling Generator" quest) burns solid fuels like coal or charcoal to make µI. The quest calls it a simple, reliable way to get your first setup running before you move to bigger generators.[3]
Your first alloys
Once the smelter is running, make Dark Steel Ingot first. It is the backbone of Dark Steel tools, armor and several advanced machines. Then make Conductive Alloy Ingot and Energetic Alloy Ingot: the quests say Conductive Alloy goes into advanced energy conduits, and Energetic Alloy is the base component of capacitors.[3]
Some of the pack's smelting recipes don't match the quest descriptions. The Conductive Alloy Ingot is one example. Trust the recipe blocks below. The Dark Steel Ingot also has a second smelting recipe that uses coal.[3][4]

What's next
- A Basic Capacitor Bank works like a battery for your base and is the next step after the Basic Capacitor.[3]
- The Yeta Wrench rotates machines with a right-click and picks them up with a sneak-right-click, keeping their inventory and upgrades. You also use it to configure conduits.[3]
- The SAG Mill grinds ores for bonus outputs, and the Crafter automates crafting.[3]

How does Ender IO work?
5 parts
Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod: machines, conduits and inventory management are the main pieces. The sources I have for this pack cover the machine list, the recipe types and the pack's sag milling changes well. They do not give the numbers behind power, fluids or multiblocks, so this section sticks to what is confirmed.[1]
Machines and storage blocks
The mod's block list includes an Alloy Smelter, a Crafter, a Painting Machine, a Powered Spawner, a Farming Station, an Enchanter and an Impulse Hopper. For storage there are a Fluid Tank and a Pressurized Fluid Tank, plus Basic and Advanced Capacitor Banks. There is even an advancement for building a Capacitor Bank.[5]
Machine recipe types
Recipes for the mod use their own recipe types: alloy smelting, sag milling, soul binding and painting. For example, an alloy smelting recipe turns any colorless glass block into Clear Glass.[4]

Conduits and filters
The project page lists these conduit types: item, fluid, energy, redstone, Applied Energistics 2 ME, Refined Storage and Mekanism chemicals. In the block list, conduits show up as a Conduit Bundle. The page also says the mod is being rewritten for the latest Minecraft version, so some features may not have been ported yet.[1][5]
Some conduit items have confirmed recipes. Conduit Binder Composite makes 8 per craft, and a Conduit Facade has a painting recipe that the pack changed. The sources do not say what was changed.[4]

Sag milling in this pack
Sag milling is the grinding recipe type, and the pack adds a lot of its own. Every sag milling recipe added by the pack's scripts uses an energy value of 2,400.[6][7]
- For Allthemodium, Vibranium, Unobtainium and the Silent Gear metals crimson iron, azure silver, blaze gold, azure electrum and crimson steel, the pack adds a chain of recipes. Ore gives a raw material, with a 0.33 chance of a second one and a 0.15 chance of cobblestone. Raw material gives a dust, with a 0.25 chance of a second dust. An ingot gives a dust.[6]
- The script only adds each of those recipes when there is no sag milling recipe for that input already.[6]
- Certus quartz, fluix crystal, sky stone blocks and ender pearls each mill into their Applied Energistics 2 dust, one dust per input.[7]
- Black quartz ore gives 2 black quartz, and bort ore gives 3 bort. Poor, regular and dense uraninite ore give 2, 4 and 6 raw uraninite.[7]
- The pack removes the mod's own ender pearl sag milling recipe.[7]
Some milling recipes come straight from the mod. Allium gives Clippings and Trimmings and magenta dye, and cactus gives Twigs and Prunings and Clippings and Trimmings.[4]

How do you progress through Ender IO?
6 parts
Ender IO progression in this pack follows the "EnderIO" quest chapter. It starts with one odd material, branches into alloys, machines and a soul-themed side, and ends with the best capacitor and the biggest battery. Here is the path in order.[3]
Tier 0: Grains of Infinity, a capacitor and a chassis
Your first quest is "Grains of Infinity" quest. The quest says you get Grains of Infinity by setting Bedrock on fire, with only a small chance of a drop, and that you just need a handful to start. The recipe dump also has a fire-crafting recipe for deepslate that gives Grains of Infinity, and the bedrock one can also drop a Suspicious Seed.[3][4]
Two quests unlock after that: "Basic Capacitor" quest and "Void Chassis" quest. Nearly every Ender IO machine needs a capacitor installed, and the quest says machines won't turn on without one. The Void Chassis is the base frame for most early and mid-tier machines.[3]

Tier 1: The alloys
Everything after the Alloy Smelter quest opens up through alloy ingots. They chain together: Conductive Alloy leads into Energetic Alloy, and Energetic Alloy leads into Vibrant Alloy. Soularium and Dark Steel are their own branches.[3][4]
- Conductive Alloy Ingot: used for advanced energy conduits, several grinding balls and mid-tier machines.[3]
- Energetic Alloy Ingot: the base component of your capacitors.[3]
- Vibrant Alloy Ingot: powers your best capacitors and several late-game machines.[3]
- Dark Steel Ingot: the backbone of Dark Steel tools, armor and several advanced machines. The quest suggests stockpiling it for Void Chassis crafting.[3]
- Soularium Ingot: the material behind Soul Vials and the soul-capturing machines.[3]

Early and mid-tier machines
After the Void Chassis quest, many machine quests open up in parallel, so you can pick what your base needs first. The Stirling Generator is the quest's pick for your first power source, and it burns solid fuels. The SAG Mill grinds ores, and grinding balls in its upgrade slot boost speed, efficiency and double-output chance. The quest says grinding raw ores there usually gives more ingots per ore than smelting them.[3]
- Crafter: automates crafting from conduit or hopper input.[3]
- Painting Machine: applies a facade texture to blocks in bulk.[3]
- Drain: collects fluids such as milk from nearby entities into a tank.[3]
- VAT: ferments materials like Grains of the End into fluids such as Dew of the Void.[3]
- Impulse Hopper: pulls nearby dropped items and XP orbs into its inventory.[3]
- Wired Charger and Wireless Charger: recharge RF-powered gear, with a cable or while you stand nearby.[3]

Capacitor and battery tiers
Capacitors go from the Basic Capacitor to the Double-Layer Capacitor to the Octadic Capacitor. The quests describe the Double-Layer as more storage and faster processing, and the Octadic as the strongest, giving maximum speed and energy buffer.[3]

Batteries follow the same idea. Start with the Basic Capacitor Bank, then upgrade to the Advanced Capacitor Bank for more capacity and faster charging. The final tier is the Vibrant Capacitor Bank, which the quest calls a great long-term goal. In this pack the Advanced bank has a direct upgrade recipe from the Basic bank.[3][4]

The soul and Ender branch
Soularium opens the soul machines. The chain is "Soul Chain" quest, then "Ensouled Chassis" quest. After that come the Soul Binder, the Slice'N'Splice and the Powered Spawner. The Ensouled Chassis is required for some of the more advanced soul-themed machines.[3]

The Soul Binder also makes the Ender Crystal, which uses a Soul Vial filled with an Enderman. That unlocks the Staff of Travelling with its Travel Anchor, and the Staff of Levity. Both staffs spend XP when you use them.[3]
Dark Steel gear and utilities
Dark Steel unlocks the The Ender, which can be upgraded with modules, and the Enchanter, which applies enchanted books using power instead of an anvil.[3]
The Yeta Wrench is your main tool for rotating machines, picking them up with their contents, and configuring conduits. It also appears in the Industrial Foregoing chapter's list of wrenches that can rotate that mod's machines. Energy conduits, like the Conduit Bundle, can move power between machines.[3][9][10]
The pack adds its own conduit recipes that turn AE2 cables and Mekanism tubes and conductors into Ender IO conduits. It also changes the Conduit Facade painting recipe. The Conduit Facade itself lets you disguise a conduit bundle as another block.[3][4]
How does Ender IO work with other mods?
7 parts
Ender IO doesn't live on its own in this pack. Other mods and the pack's own scripts add recipes that take Ender IO items in or hand them out, and that's where most of the cross-mod action happens. Here's what the in-pack recipes and quests show.[4]
All the Compressed
The pack has compress and decompress recipes for Ender IO's alloy blocks. For example, Dark Steel Block compresses into Dark Steel Block 1x, and the decompress recipe turns it back. All of these recipes are marked as changed by the pack. The blocks covered are:[4]
- Conductive Alloy Block and Conductive Alloy Block 1x[4]
- Copper alloy block, which compresses into Copper Alloy Block 1x[4]
- Dark Steel Block and Dark Steel Block 1x[4]
- End Steel Block and End Steel Block 1x[4]
- Energetic Alloy Block and Energetic Alloy Block 1x[4]
- Pulsating Alloy Block and Pulsating Alloy Block 1x[4]

Mystical Agriculture
Mystical Agriculture essences can be crafted into Ender IO materials. The pack changed these recipes so each alloy essence turns into its matching ingot, covering Conductive, Copper, Dark Steel, End Steel, Energetic, Pulsating, Redstone, Soularium and Vibrant. There's also a recipe from Grains of Infinity essence to Grains of Infinity.[4]

That gives you a second route to Grains of Infinity. The Ender IO quest chapter describes getting them by setting Bedrock on fire, which only has a small chance of dropping the item.[3][4]
The pack also adds a recipe for the Enderman Head that uses a Blank Skull and Enderman Essence.[4]

Mekanism and conduits
The pack adds recipes that connect Mekanism transport to Ender IO conduits. Pressurized tubes (basic, advanced and elite) and the Advanced Thermodynamic Conductor can be combined with a Conduit Binder to make an Conduit Bundle. Two more recipes make a conduit straight from Infused Alloy or Reinforced Alloy.[4]

Productive Bees
The pack changed Productive Bees centrifuge recipes so they give Ender IO nuggets plus Wax. They cover Conductive Alloy, Dark Steel, End Steel, Energetic Alloy, Pulsating Alloy, Redstone Alloy, Soularium and Vibrant Alloy. A separate Infinity recipe gives Grains of Infinity plus wax. The recipe dump lists no item inputs for any of these.[4]
Soul Heart Mechanism
The pack's Create sequenced assembly for the Soul Heart Mechanism uses the Dark Bimetal Gear alongside Magearnite and brass plates, so Ender IO progress feeds into this pack-specific item.[4]

Quests that cross over
The Apothic Spawners quest chapter includes the quest a quest in "Apothic Spawners", which is about EnderIO's spawner and asks for the Powered Spawner.[8]
Which All the Mons quests use Ender IO?
5 parts
Ender IO has its own quest chapter, "EnderIO", and it also turns up in three other chapters. The main chapter is a tech tree that branches out from one starting item, so it's easiest to follow it branch by branch.[3][8][9][10]
The EnderIO chapter, in order
- "Grains of Infinity" quest is the entry point. It asks for Grains of Infinity, which you get by setting Bedrock on fire. The quest says igniting a bedrock block has a small chance of dropping them, and that a handful is enough to start.[3]
- "Basic Capacitor" quest and "Void Chassis" quest both unlock after that. The first asks for a Basic Capacitor, which your machines need installed to turn on. The second asks for a Void Chassis, the base frame for most early and mid-tier machines.[3]
- The Void Chassis opens up the machine quests: "Wireless Charger" quest, "SAG Mill" quest, "Crafter" quest, "Painting Machine" quest, "Stirling Generator" quest, "Wired Charger" quest, "Drain" quest, "Alloy Smelter" quest, "Vat" quest and "Impulse Hopper" quest. The SAG Mill quest accepts any one of the grinding balls alongside the machine.[3]
- The Alloy Smelter quest says you need at least a Basic Capacitor installed before it will turn on. Finishing it unlocks the alloy quests: "Soularium Ingot" quest, "Conductive Alloy Ingot" quest, "Dark Steel Ingot" quest, "Energetic Alloy Ingot" quest and "Vibrant Alloy Ingot" quest.[3]
- The Alloy Smelter also unlocks the utility quests "Yeta Wrench & Conduits" quest (which asks for both the Yeta Wrench and a conduit), "Conduit Facade" quest and "XP Vacuum & Vacuum Chest" quest (which asks for both the XP Vacuum and the Vacuum Chest).[3]
Capacitor and battery line
"Basic Capacitor Bank" quest follows the Basic Capacitor. "Double Layer Capacitor" quest needs "Energetic Alloy Ingot" quest and the Basic Capacitor quest done first. "Advanced Capacitor Bank" quest comes after the Basic Capacitor Bank and the Double Layer Capacitor. "Octadic Capacitor" quest comes after "Vibrant Alloy Ingot" quest and the Double Layer Capacitor. The chain finishes with "Vibrant Capacitor Bank" quest, which needs both the Advanced Capacitor Bank and the Octadic Capacitor quests, and the quest calls it the final tier of energy storage.[3]
Off to the side, "Electromagnet" quest unlocks once you've done both "Conductive Alloy Ingot" quest and "Energetic Alloy Ingot" quest.[3]
Dark Steel branch
After "Dark Steel Ingot" quest you get two quests: "Dark Steel Sword" quest and "Enchanter" quest.[3]
Soularium, souls and the Ender branch
This branch starts at "Soularium Ingot" quest and runs in this order: "Soularium Nugget" quest, then "Soul Chain" quest (which needs both the ingot and the nugget quests), then "Ensouled Chassis" quest. Once you have the Ensouled Chassis, three quests open up: "Soul Binder" quest, "Powered Spawner" quest and "Slice'N'Splice" quest. Each of them also needs the Soularium Ingot quest.[3]
"Ender Crystal" quest comes after the Soul Binder. After that, "Staff of Travelling" quest (which also asks for a Travel Anchor) and "Staff of Levity" quest both unlock.[3]
Ender IO in other chapters
- The "Apothic Spawners" chapter has an untitled quest about the Powered Spawner. It walks you through using a filled Soul Vial with a Broken Spawner, then placing the spawner, giving it a capacitor and powering it. It also mentions the spawner can fill Soul Vials directly. The quest it follows isn't in the sources.[8]
- The "Industrial Foregoing" chapter has an untitled wrench quest where the Yeta Wrench is one of several accepted wrenches. The quest is about wrenches that can rotate Industrial Foregoing machines, tested mainly on the Laser Drill, and it says some wrenches might not work with other machines.[9]
- The "New Beginning" chapter has an untitled energy-transfer quest that follows the "Power" quest. It accepts one of several cables or pipes, including the Ender IO conduit, to show that not every mod shares energy between machines automatically.[10]
Which Ender IO config options matter?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.11 guide
There's nothing to tune here. The pack ships no config files for this mod, so every option runs at whatever the mod itself defaults to, and nothing has been changed for this pack.[1]
That also means you don't need to touch anything before you start building machines and conduits. Energy, item, fluid, redstone, Applied Energistics 2 ME, Refined Storage and Mekanism chemical conduits are all present in the version bundled here, as are the machines, armor, weapons, tools, enchantments and decorative blocks.[1]
Unverified Any in-game config screen this mod may expose has not been checked against the pack, so treat anything you find there as mod defaults rather than pack-tuned values.
What changed in Ender IO between versions?
4 parts
All the Mons 1.3.0 ships Ender IO 8.2.11-beta, and the mod was already in the pack by 0.3.0-beta or earlier. The sources I have don't include any pack changelog entries for Ender IO, so everything below comes from the mod's own release notes, newest first.[2]
The 8.2 series
- 8.2.11-beta improved fire crafting handling, so fire water now works for fire crafting. It also discards networks that were corrupted by the update from 8.0.7 to 8.2.9, and fixes a server crash caused by the coordinate selector.[11]
- 8.2.10-beta fixed loading conduit data from saved data and increased the pickup range for vacuum blocks.[12]
- 8.2.9-beta added a potential fix for poor energy conduit performance and crashes, plus a missing Jade translation.[13]
- 8.2.5-beta added keybinds and Curios support to the staff of travelling and the electromagnet. It also fixed energy conduits that the previous update had broken.[14]
- 8.2.2-alpha fixed a crash when disconnecting two conduits of different tiers. It was based on 8.1.3-beta.[15]
8.2.0-alpha: mixed conduit tiers
This is the big one. Energy, item, fluid and chemical conduits of different tiers can now connect to each other in the same network, and transfer speeds drop when the path goes through a lower tier of conduit. The changelog says modpack developers can configure this per conduit type.[16]
- Conduits always take the shortest path to a destination, even if a faster path exists. Distance is now counted in conduit blocks.[16]
- Energy conduits are peer-to-peer again, so they no longer have an energy buffer. Any energy stored in them was voided.[16]
- Fluid and chemical locking was removed, and all tiers of fluid and chemical conduit now support priority.[16]
- The limited item filter was added, and grinding ball data moved from components to a NeoForge data map.[16]
Unverified Whether All the Mons changes the conduit tier connection setting from the mod's default is not confirmed in the available sources.
The 8.1 series
8.1.0-beta focused on internals and came with a recipe rebalance. The developers warned that modpacks would need time to update their custom recipes and questlines to match.[17]
- Copper Alloy was removed and other alloy recipes changed, with pulsating alloy becoming cheaper. The sag mill no longer requires dark steel.[17]
- Conduits were renamed to normal, energetic and vibrant, and their recipes were adjusted to match.[17]
- The Farming Station moved out of experimental.[17]
- Automation can now feed capacitors into machines, though it can't take them out.[17]
- Tank recipes now use SizedFluidIngredient, which breaks custom tank recipes. Bug fixes included fluid tanks duplicating fluids and the VAT duplicating outputs.[17]
- 8.1.1-beta removed energy throttling so machines distribute energy evenly, and added a whitelist tag for capturing and spawning mobs. It also fixed in-place upgrades of item conduits and a logic problem with travel anchors.[18]
Earlier: 8.0.7-alpha
8.0.7-alpha was a hotfix that fixed a hang on load when using the attractor obelisk. Its notes also mention extensive API breaks for addon developers.[19]
