Applied Energistics 2 is a mod in FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.13.0, where it is version 19.2.18. AE2: A popular automation and storage mod (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

Stuck? Why it might not be working

  • AE2 autocrafting: the job sits on Scheduled and never crafts
Scheduled means patterns the CPU has queued but not yet pushed to a machine; Crafting means outputs already pushed and still awaited. A job frozen on Scheduled is a push that keeps failing, or an output that never came back, and AE2 shows no message for either. It retries forever, so waiting will not fix it unless the cause was a power or channel dip that has since come back.

What is Applied Energistics 2?

1 part

Applied Energistics 2 (AE2) is a storage and automation mod. You build a network of connected devices that stores your items digitally, so a compact ME network can replace a whole room of chests. It also handles autocrafting: you set up patterns and the system crafts what you ask for, or keeps items in stock. This pack runs version 19.2.17.[1][2][3][4]

The mod also adds a channel system that limits how many devices a cable can carry, spatial storage for keeping a whole region of the world in a cell, and its own materials such as Certus Quartz and Fluix Crystals.[1]

Where it sits in the quest book

AE2 has its own quests in the "General Storage" chapter. That is chapter 7 of 31 in the pack's quest book, in the "Resources & Logistics" group. The chapter has 146 quests, and I can only walk you through the opening ones here. The rest are in the quest book itself.[5]

The AE2 line starts with "Getting Started With Applied Energistics!" quest, which asks for a Charger. After that comes "A Certain Quartz" quest, then "Certus Quartz Budding" quest. Two quests follow Certus Quartz Budding: "Inscribing Processors" quest and "Fluix Crystals" quest.[5]

From there the book splits into a few branches:[5]

Tip: The quest book says the pack's channel settings are friendlier than the mod's defaults. Its text gives 32 channels per network before you need a controller, so the channel limit is less of a worry early on.[5]

How do you get started with Applied Energistics 2?

6 parts

In this pack the Applied Energistics 2 questline lives in the "General Storage" chapter (group "Resources & Logistics", chapter 7 of 31 in the book). It opens with "Getting Started With Applied Energistics!" quest, which asks you for a Charger. Most of that chapter's quests are told in the quest book itself, so check it for the full text of each step.[5]

Make a Charger

The Charger is where you start. It is the machine that turns plain crystals into Charged Certus Quartz Crystal. The pack changes its recipe, so use this one and not what you remember from vanilla AE2.[5][6]

Get Certus Quartz

"A Certain Quartz" quest gives two ways to get Certus Quartz Crystal. You can purify Budding Black Quartz with Advanced DireGoo, or trade with a villager whose job site is the charger, the Fluix Researcher.[5]

Once you have some, "Certus Quartz Budding" quest covers budding. Budding Certus Quartz can decay a tier whenever a crystal forms or the block is broken, and you repair it by throwing it in water with charged crystals. Flawless budding blocks never decay, but they drop to flawed if you mine them. Early on you can speed things up by holding a hoe and crouching next to the crystals.[5]

Tip: Don't count on picking up the four inscriber presses from a meteorite. Meteorites are switched on in this pack, but worldGen.spawnPressesInMeteorites is false. The quest book says you can make the presses with Essence Crafting or get them from Fluix Researcher trades. A wandering trader may also sell a Mysterious Cube that drops one of each press.[5][7][8]

Fluix Crystals

"Fluix Crystals" quest is next. Charge a certus crystal in the charger, then toss it into a pool of water with redstone and nether quartz. They react into a Fluix Crystal, and you will need plenty of these later.[5]

Inscriber and Processors

"Inscribing Processors" quest asks for the Inscriber and the three printed circuits. The inscriber needs power but accepts regular FE. It is worth automating early, with one inscriber for each press you own.[5]

Here is how a printed circuit is made, using the calculation press:[6]

Inscriber (ae2)

Recipe id: ae2:inscriber/calculation_processor_print

"Silicon" quest follows. Printed Silicon is needed for most of the electronic parts in AE2, so give it its own automated inscriber. Then "Completing Processors" quest combines a printed circuit, printed silicon and redstone into a finished processor.[5]

Inscriber (ae2)

Recipe id: ae2:inscriber/calculation_processor

The calculation processor is one of the three processor types.

Power and Crystal Growth

AE2 runs on its own AE power. "Powering Your Network" quest points you to the Energy Acceptor, which converts FE into AE for your network, and to the Crystal Resonance Generator, which makes around 20 AE/t. You can only have one of those per network.[5][7]

With power sorted, "Automating Crystals" quest has you build a Growth Accelerator to speed up budding crystals. It needs power too. The pack changes its recipe as well:[5][6]

Your First Network

After completing processors, the book moves on to "Cables and Channels" quest. From there it offers "The Start of Digital Storage!" quest, which has you make the ME Drive and a 1k ME Storage Component, and "ME Crafting Terminal" quest for the ME Crafting Terminal. "Autocrafting" quest comes after the digital storage quest.[5]

Tip: The pack sets general.channels to X4, so a network has 32 channels before you need a controller. The quest book says a single ME Controller gives 128 channels per face with the pack's settings.[5][7]

How does Applied Energistics 2 work?

8 parts

Think of an AE2 network as one big machine. Everything on it shares one energy pool, one set of channels and one pool of storage, so the physical position of a device doesn't matter, only which network it's connected to. Here is how the pieces fit together in this pack.[9][10]

Network connections

A network is a group of devices linked by blocks that can pass channels, like cables or full-block machines such as the Charger, ME Interface and ME Drive. A Network Tool shows every component on the network, so use it when something is missing or something shouldn't be there.[10][11]

  • Cable colour has no effect on connections, except that cables of different colours won't connect to each other. Every colour connects to fluix (uncolored) cable.[10]
  • A Quartz Fiber shares energy without providing a network connection, so the two sides stay separate networks.[11]
  • A quantum bridge acts like a wireless dense cable, so both ends are on the same network.[10]
  • Full-block devices such as a pattern provider or inscriber pass the connection through. Right-clicking a provider with the right tool makes it directional, so it won't pass channels through one side.[10]

A subnetwork is just a separate network. Use one to limit which devices can reach which storage, or to save channels on your main network. For example, a pattern provider can output to an interface wired to several storage busses on several machines, using 1 channel instead of one provider per machine. Check your connections carefully, because people often build a jumble of busses that is still connected to the main network through a full-block device.[10][12]

Channels

Most devices need a channel. Most machines, full-block devices and standard cables pass up to 8 channels, while dense cables support up to 32. A network without a controller is ad-hoc and supports up to 8 channel-using devices. Go past that and they shut down. Level emitters are the notable device that needs no channel.[13][14]

Watch out: The 8 and 32 above are the standard figures. This pack sets general.channels to X4 instead of the default, which changes the channel capacity cables provide. Check your cables in-game with a smart cable rather than trusting the standard numbers.[7][13]

With a controller, channels take the shortest path: through adjacent machines to the nearest normal cable, then to the nearest dense cable, then to the controller. If the shortest path is full, devices can go without a channel even though other cables sit empty. Build treelike networks with dense cables branching from the controller, regular cables from those, and small clusters of devices on the regular cables.[13]

Energy

Devices pull from a network-wide pool that Vibration Chambers, Energy Acceptors and controllers add to. There are no transfer rate limits, only your storage limits. Conversion from Forge Energy is one-way at 2 FE = 1 AE, which matches the pack's powerRatios.forgeEnergy value of 0.5.[7][9][15]

Storage matters because a network can't take in or use more energy in a single tick than it can hold. If you dump a whole inventory of cobblestone into a tiny network, it can run out of energy and reboot. Energy cells fix this.[9]

  • Every cable, machine or part adds a built-in buffer of 25 AE, which is the pack's value for powerRatios.gridEnergyStoragePerNode.[7][9]
  • An ME Controller stores 8,000 AE on its own.[9][15]
  • The Energy Cell holds 200k AE and is enough for most networks. The Dense Energy Cell holds 1.6M AE, for running off stored power or for big spatial storage setups.[9][15]
  • A Vibration Chamber makes 5 AE per fuel burn tick (coal is 1,600 burn ticks), speeding up to 40 AE/t and slowing to 4 AE/t when energy is being wasted. These are the mod defaults, unchanged here.[7]
  • P2P tunnels charge a tax of 0.025 on transported energy and on items and fluids. This is also the default.[7]

Import, export and storage

Network storage is whatever holds the network's contents: storage cells in drives, or any inventory a storage bus points at. Import busses push things into storage and export busses pull them out. Interfaces do both, and terminals count as importing or exporting when you insert or take items. Storage busses don't push or pull, they make the inventory they face act as network storage.[16][17]

Storage priority decides where items go. Incoming items go to the highest priority storage first, and a storage that already holds the item wins ties. Items leaving come from the lowest priority storage, so high priority storage fills up and low priority storage empties.[16]

The pack changed how often some busses can act. tickRates.ExportBusMin and tickRates.ImportBusMin are 10 (mod default 5), and tickRates.StorageBusMin is 20 (mod default 5). The matching Max values are the defaults of 60 for the export bus, 40 for the import bus and 60 for the storage bus.[7]

Storage cells

Cells are limited by bytes and by types. Each item costs one bit, so 8 items take 1 byte, and each unique item (including each differently enchanted tool) is a separate type that costs bytes upfront. Fluid cells hold 8 buckets per byte. Item cells from 1k up to 256k all hold 63 types, so bigger cells give more bytes but no extra types.[18][19]

A 1k cell is 1,024 bytes and a 256k cell is 262,144 bytes. The upfront type cost means a cell holding 1 type can store about twice as much as one with all 63 in use. Filter mob-farm armor and tools out before they reach your system.[18][19]

Autocrafting

Autocrafting needs a request source, a crafting CPU and a pattern provider. Here is what happens:[4]

  1. Something creates a request: you clicking an autocraftable item in a terminal, or an export bus or interface with a Crafting Card asking for an item it's set to export or stock.[4]
  2. The network works out the ingredients and prerequisite steps and stores them in the selected crafting CPU.[4]
  3. The pattern provider holding the right pattern pushes the ingredients into any adjacent inventory. For a crafting pattern that is a molecular assembler. For a processing pattern it can be any machine or redstone-controlled setup.[4][20]
  4. The result must come back to the network through an import bus, an interface, or a pattern provider's return. An item has to actually enter the system, so piping it into a chest with a storage bus doesn't count.[4]
  5. If that craft feeds another step, the items wait in the crafting CPU and are used in the next craft.[4]
Crafting CardMod recipe

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: ae2:materials/cardcrafting

Put this card in an export bus or interface so it can request crafts.

Patterns are made from blank patterns in a Pattern Encoding Terminal. Crafting, smithing and stonecutting patterns work with a provider next to a molecular assembler, and all three can share a setup. Processing patterns are the general type: the network only cares that the result arrives, so they work with almost any modded machine. A pattern can also ask for several items per operation, such as 8 cobblestone at a time.[4][20]

Tip: The autocrafting algorithm can't handle recursive recipes such as "1 redstone dust = 2 redstone dust". A provider with a crafting card can be set to emit a redstone signal that starts a machine for this, or to switch an infinite farm on and off.[4]

The Cell Workbench recipe was changed by the pack, so don't rely on the mod's default recipe.[6]

Spatial IO

Spatial IO swaps a defined volume of your world with an identically sized volume in the spatial storage dimension. You need a Spatial IO Port plus spatial pylons, all on the same network, and only one setup is allowed per network, so a subnetwork is recommended. Put a spatial cell in the port and give it a redstone pulse to swap.[21]

  • The volume is the bounding box of the outside of the pylons, shrunk by 1 block in every direction. The minimum is 3x3x3, which defines a 1x1x1 volume.[21]
  • Every pylon must be inside that outer bounding box and on the same network, and each must be at least 2 blocks long.[21]
  • A cell's dimensions are fixed once it has been used, and the volume can't be rotated. If they don't match the defined volume, the port won't run.[21]
  • Sparse pylon arrays around large volumes are very inefficient and can need billions of AE, so check the port's readout and have energy cells ready.[21]
Watch out: Any entity in the defined volume, including you, goes along with the swap. If you have no way out you'll be stuck in the spatial storage dimension.[21]

The spatial energy cost settings, spatialio.spatialPowerMultiplier at 1250 and spatialio.spatialPowerExponent at 1.35, are at their mod defaults in this pack.[7]

Certus charging and growth

Budding certus blocks grow quartz buds and degrade by one tier as they do, from Flawless through Flawed and Chipped to Damaged. You repair them, or make new ones, by throwing the block in water with a Charged Certus Quartz Crystal. Flawless blocks never degrade. A Growth Accelerator next to the budding block speeds growth a lot, and this pack's crafting.growthAccelerator is 10 ticks between accelerator ticks, the same as the default.[7][22]

Charged crystals come from a Charger, and a Wooden Crank attached to a charger powers it by hand. The pack changed the crank recipe. The pack also has its own recipe that turns 64 Certus Quartz Crystal and 1000 of water into one charged crystal.[6][23]

How do you progress through Applied Energistics 2?

5 parts

In this pack the Applied Energistics 2 quests sit in the General Storage chapter (group Resources & Logistics, chapter 7 of 31 in the book). That chapter also covers backpacks, drawers and other storage mods, and the AE2 line is a branching chain. Some quests in the chapter are not covered here, so check the quest book for the rest.[5]

Stage 1: Charger, guide and Certus Quartz

The chain starts with "Getting Started With Applied Energistics!" quest, which asks for a Charger. The pack changed this recipe, so use this one rather than the mod default.[5][6]

Next, "The AE2 Guide" quest points you to the built-in AE2 guide. Hover an AE2 item in JEI and hold the keybind to open it. It is very detailed, so use it whenever you get stuck.[5]

"A Certain Quartz" quest gives you two ways to get Certus Quartz Crystal: purify Budding Black Quartz with Advanced DireGoo, or trade with a villager that has a charger job site, the Fluix Researcher. The same villager sells the inscriber presses. You can also get presses through Essence Crafting, and a Wandering Trader may sell a Mysterious Cube that drops one of each press when broken.[5]

The pack changed the Essence Crafting route for the engineering press, so check this recipe.[6]

Changed by the pack.

"But where's the Sky Stone?" quest covers Sky Stone. You can trade for it with the Fluix Researcher or a Wandering Trader, mine it from floating structures, or smelt Sky Stone Dust. The dust comes from an Annihilation Plane facing up at the build limit and linked to storage. The quest book does not list a quest before it, so you can do it at any point.[5]

Stage 2: Budding, Fluix and processors

"Certus Quartz Budding" quest is the hub of the early game. Budding Certus Quartz grows crystals over time and can decay to a lower tier each time a crystal forms or the block is broken. You repair it by throwing it in water with Charged Certus Quartz Crystal. Flawless budding blocks do not decay from growth, and the quest says to automate harvesting early. To get started, hold a hoe and crouch next to the crystals to grow them.[5]

Three quests unlock from here: "Inscribing Processors" quest, "Fluix Crystals" quest and "Lightning Technology" quest.[5]

The pack changed several machine routes for processors: the ExtendedAE Crystal Assembler recipe for Calculation Processors, the ExtendedAE Circuit Cutter recipe for Printed Engineering Circuits, and the Modern Industrialization packer recipes for Printed Silicon and Printed Engineering Circuits. It also adds crushing recipes for Certus Quartz Dust in several other mods, such as Mekanism, Create and Modern Industrialization.[6]

Stage 3: Power, channels and the controller

"Powering Your Network" quest follows Fluix Crystals. AE2 uses its own AE power, so an Energy Acceptor converts FE for your network, and cables carry it. The Crystal Resonance Generator makes around 20 AE/t, but you can only have one per AE network. "Automating Crystals" quest then adds the Growth Accelerator to speed up budding blocks. The pack changed its recipe.[5][6]

After Completing Processors, "Cables and Channels" quest explains channels. The quest says the pack uses an easier channel setting for newcomers, giving 32 channels per network. Glass cables carry up to 32 channels and Dense cables up to 128. Smart cables show channel usage on the cable. The pack changed the smart cable recipe.[5][6]

"Adding More Channels" quest covers the ME Controller. A single controller gives 128 channels per face with the pack's settings, and you can build a multiblock of controllers for more. You cannot put two separate controllers in one network. "I/O Bus" quest also unlocks the ME Import Bus and ME Export Bus here.[5]

Stage 4: Digital storage and autocrafting

"The Start of Digital Storage!" quest introduces the ME Drive and 1k ME Storage Component. A drive holds up to 10 disks, and each regular item cell stores up to 63 item types. "Cell Workbench" quest adds the Cell Workbench, whose recipe the pack changed. "The Matter Condenser" quest adds the Matter Condenser, also changed by the pack, which makes the Singularities the quest calls critical for massive storage and inter-dimensional links.[5][6]

Tip: The Cell Workbench quest says an Overflow Destruction upgrade on a configured cell lets a drive act like a wall of storage drawers with void upgrades.[5]

Autocrafting starts at "Autocrafting" quest with the Crafting Unit. "The Autocrafting Multiblock" quest covers the multiblock: build it as a solid rectangular prism with at least one Crafting Storage, from 1k Crafting Storage up to 256k Crafting Storage. Crafting Co-Processing Unit units are optional but recommended. Each CPU multiblock handles only one task at a time.[5]

Patterns follow. "Creating Patterns" quest uses the ME Pattern Encoding Terminal and Blank Pattern, and "Storing Patterns" quest covers the ME Pattern Provider and Molecular Assembler.[5]

Stage 5: Wireless, bridges and add-ons

The ME Crafting Terminal quest leads to "Wireless Access" quest with the ME Wireless Access Point, then "Wireless Crafting" quest with the Wireless Crafting Terminal.[5]

"Quantum Network Bridges" quest comes after a quest called The Universal Wireless Terminal. You build two identical structures, each with 8 ME Quantum Ring blocks around an ME Quantum Link Chamber, and link them with Quantum Entangled Singularity items. The pack uses the standard transform recipe.[5][6]

Transform (ae2)

Recipe id: ae2:transform/entangled_singularity

Watch out: Both sides of a Quantum Network Bridge need to be chunk loaded for it to work.[5]

Two add-on branches also hang off the early quests. "Growing Entro Crystals" quest grows Entro Crystals, which the quest recommends starting early if you plan to use Extended AE. "Lightning Technology" quest leads to a quest in "General Storage" for Overloaded Crystals. It expects a small working ME network, some Certus Quartz and budding blocks, and a vanilla lightning rod.[5]

How does Applied Energistics 2 work with other mods?

4 parts

AE2 is the hub that a lot of other mods in this pack plug into. The recipe dump shows addon cells, buses and terminals that are all built from AE2 parts, and the quest book covers a few crossovers too.[5][6]

Storage cell addons

Several mods add new cell types built around the 16k ME Storage Component. You get an air cell from the appliedpneumatics mod (16k ME Air Storage Cell), a chemical cell from appmek (16k ME Chemical Storage Cell) and a matter cell from apprep (16k ME Matter Storage Cell). Each one pairs the component with its own housing item. The pack also has disassembly recipes (type ae2:storage_cell_disassembly) for many of these cells.[6]

The script only registers them if Extended AE is loaded.[24]

Buses, crafting and encoders

Extended AE has 13 Crystal Assembler recipes that use AE2 parts. The Crystal Assembler itself is crafted from AE2 and Extended AE items, and it then makes things like the ME Extended Export Bus and the ME Active Formation Plane.[6]

The Advanced Pattern Encoder and the Auto Feeding Card also have in-pack recipes. The Quantum parts from Advanced AE even show up in the Ender Drives cells, such as 16k Ender Item Storage Cell.[6]

Lightning tech and wireless

The ae2lt addon has 19 lightning assembly recipes that take AE2 items, plus lightning simulation recipes like the one for the Electro-Chime Crystal. Its Advanced Wireless Overloaded Controller uses Fluix Pearls, so AE2 materials stay relevant late on.[6]

The quest book covers more crossovers in the General Storage chapter (group Resources & Logistics). "Powering Your Network" quest says AE2 does not accept power directly from other sources by default, and that the Energy Acceptor converts FE into AE. "Inscribing Processors" quest adds that Inscribers can take regular FE from other modded sources. "I/O Bus" quest mentions exporting power to connected machines by right-clicking a Mekanism Energy Tablet onto the Exporter interface.[5]

"A Certain Quartz" quest points to other mods for early Certus Quartz: purifying Budding Black Quartz with Advanced DireGoo, or trading with a Fluix Researcher villager. It also says the circuit presses can come from Essence Crafting. Most quests in this chapter are not covered here, so read the rest in the quest book.[5]

Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use Applied Energistics 2?

4 parts

In this pack, the Applied Energistics 2 quests sit in the "General Storage" chapter. It is chapter 7 of 31 in the quest book, in the group "Resources & Logistics". The chapter has 146 quests and is shared with the Sophisticated Backpacks, Sophisticated Storage, Functional Storage and Refined Storage 2 lines. 15 of its quests aren't covered here, so check the quest book for those.[5]

The starting line

  1. "Getting Started With Applied Energistics!" quest is the entry point and asks you for a Charger. "The AE2 Guide" quest comes after it and is a simple checkmark pointing you to the built-in AE2 guide.[5]
  2. "A Certain Quartz" quest asks for a Certus Quartz Crystal, the charger, and an observation task. "Certus Quartz Budding" quest follows, asking for Certus Quartz Dust and a crystal.[5]
  3. "Inscribing Processors" quest comes after the budding quest and asks for the Inscriber plus the printed calculation, engineering and logic circuits. "Silicon" quest then asks for Printed Silicon, and "Completing Processors" quest asks for any of the finished processors.[5]
  4. "Fluix Crystals" quest also branches off Certus Quartz Budding and asks for a Fluix Crystal.[5]

Cables, channels and terminals

"Cables and Channels" quest unlocks after Completing Processors and asks for any of the Fluix ME Glass Cable, Fluix ME Covered Cable or Fluix ME Smart Cable. The quest says the pack's channel setting defaults to 4x to make AE2 easier for newcomers, which gives you 32 channels per network. Glass cables carry up to 32 channels and dense cables up to 128.[5]

"Adding More Channels" quest asks for the ME Controller. With the pack's settings, a single controller provides 128 channels per face.[5]

"ME Crafting Terminal" quest also follows the cables quest. After it come "Wireless Access" quest (the ME Wireless Access Point) and "Wireless Crafting" quest (the Wireless Crafting Terminal).[5]

Branching from Completing Processors you also get "I/O Bus" quest (the import or export bus) and "ME Interface" quest. "Storage Bus" quest follows the interface quest, and "ME Stock Export Bus" quest follows the I/O Bus quest.[5]

Digital storage and autocrafting

"The Start of Digital Storage!" quest also follows the cables quest and asks for an ME Drive and a 1k ME Storage Component. It leads into "Cell Workbench" quest (the Cell Workbench), "MEGA Storage" quest and "Autocrafting" quest.[5]

"Autocrafting" quest asks for the Crafting Unit. Three quests follow it:[5]

"Quantum Network Bridges" quest asks for the Quantum Entangled Singularity, ME Quantum Link Chamber and ME Quantum Ring. It comes after a quest called "The Universal Wireless Terminal", which isn't shown in the material for this guide.[5]

Power, crystals and addons

"Powering Your Network" quest follows Fluix Crystals and asks for the Energy Acceptor, a fluix glass cable and the Crystal Resonance Generator. After it, "Automating Crystals" quest asks for the Growth Accelerator. Also off Fluix Crystals is "The Matter Condenser" quest, which asks for the Matter Condenser and Singularity.[5]

The same area of the chapter continues with addon quests. "The Reaction Chamber" quest follows the Matter Condenser and leads to "Applied Flux" quest. "Growing Entro Crystals" quest and "Crystal Assembler" quest introduce ExtendedAE. "Lightning Technology" quest opens the lightning addon line after Certus Quartz Budding.[5]

Which Applied Energistics 2 config options matter?

4 parts

Most of AE2's config is left at the mod defaults in this pack. Only a few values were changed, so they are worth knowing. They are all in Applied Energistics 2's common config file.[7]

What the pack changed

The matching Max values for those buses are untouched: tickRates.ImportBusMax is 40, tickRates.ExportBusMax is 60 and tickRates.StorageBusMax is 60, all the mod defaults.[7]

Channels

general.channels is set to "X4" in this pack. This option changes the channel capacity that cables provide, and the allowed values are INFINITE, DEFAULT, X2, X3 and X4. The source does not list a mod default for this option, so I can't say whether X4 differs from it.[7]

Block damage and world generation

Power and wireless

The power settings are all at the mod defaults. powerRatios.forgeEnergy is 0.5 and powerRatios.usageMultiplier is 1. The vibration chamber uses vibrationChamber.baseEnergyPerFuelTick at 5, with a maximum of 40 AE/t and a minimum of 4 AE/t. Wireless range starts at 16 with a base cost of 8.[7]

Tip: If you want the in-game guide hint on item tooltips, enableGuideHotkey is true in this pack. That means you can hold the key to show the guide.[26]

What changed in Applied Energistics 2 between versions?

2 parts

Pack 1.10.0 ships Applied Energistics 2 19.2.17. The mod has been in FTB Skies 2: Aero since 1.0.3 or earlier, so this is the version you're playing on.[2]

19.2.17 (the version in this pack)

This is a small bug-fix release. Here's what the mod's own changelog lists:[27]

  • Rendering positions were adjusted in the stonecutting encoding panel, which is the pattern encoding screen for stonecutting.[27]
  • The REI display of Inscriber recipes was fixed, along with other REI improvements.[27]
  • Crafting status update packets are now handled more robustly, which avoids crashes of the crafting status screen.[27]

The crafting status fix is the one you're most likely to notice in a long autocrafting session, because it targets crashes of the crafting status UI.[27]
