What is Actually Additions?
1 part
Actually Additions is a fan-favorite magitech mod packed with gadgets. The pack ships version 1.3.19, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. If you like a mod that hands you lots of small, useful machines and doesn't bury you in huge multiblocks, this one is for you.[1][2]
The core loop is simple. You use the Atomic Reconstructor and the Empowerer to turn minerals into powerful crystals. Those crystals unlock machines for processing and sorting items, lasers for wirelessly moving energy, items and fluids, renewable oil for generating power, and more.[1][3]
Where it shows up in the pack
The quest book points you at a few pieces of this mod. One quest asks you to get the Atomic Reconstructor, which is your entry point to the crystal side. After that come quests for the Lens of Certain Death and then the Lens of the Killer (WIP), which is marked WIP in its name.[3][4]
The mod also appears as one option among several in other quests. The Coal Generator counts for a quest in "?", alongside a generator from Just Dire Things and one from RFTools Power. The Coffee Maker is one of many accepted items for a quest in "?". So you can finish those quests without touching this mod if you prefer.[5][6]
Unverified Where Actually Additions sits in the pack's overall progression, and whether it is part of the ATM Star path, is not confirmed by the available sources.
How do you get started with Actually Additions?
6 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 5.2 guide
Actually Additions is a magitech mod packed with useful gadgets. You use the Atomic Reconstructor and the Empowerer to turn minerals into powerful crystals. Those crystals unlock machines for processing and sorting items, lasers that move energy, items and fluids wirelessly, renewable oil for power, and much more. Your early game comes down to two things: getting power running and building a Reconstructor.[1]
Step 1: Grab the manual
Start with the Actually Additions Manual (WIP), the mod's in-game manual. Even the mod's creator admits he never realised how much content the mod has, so keep this book close. Opening it also counts toward one of the mod's achievements.[8][9]
Step 2: Get some power with a Coal Generator
The Atomic Reconstructor needs power, and the Coal Generator is an easy way to get it. It is one of the options for the a quest in "?" quest in the Basic Power chapter. That quest calls these generators some of the easiest to make. They are simple to use, and their power output depends on the combustible material you put in. They also send power to adjacent blocks automatically.[10][11]

Step 3: Build the Atomic Reconstructor
The Atomic Reconstructor is the machine that turns minerals into crystals, which makes it the heart of the mod. The pack's quest for it, a quest in "?", calls it a pretty darn useful machine for such a simple recipe.[1][10]

- Placement matters. Like a dispenser, the way you place it decides where it aims.[10]
- It needs power, so put it next to your Coal Generator, which sends power to adjacent blocks.[10][11]
- You set how it reacts to redstone with a Redstone Torch. In deactivate mode it switches off when it receives a redstone signal. In pulse mode it activates whenever it receives a redstone signal.[10]
Step 4: Start making crystals
Making a crystal with the Atomic Reconstructor is one of the mod's achievements, and crystals are what the mod's machines are built from. You can also compress crystal shards into full crystals at a crafting table. For example, you can turn shards into a Restonia Crystal.[1][9][12]
Unverified The sources for this section don't say which items you fire the Reconstructor at to make each crystal. They also don't say where Black Quartz, Canola or crystal shards are found. Check the in-game manual.
Step 5: Your first coil
Once you have your first crystals, craft a Basic Coil. Coils go into many machines. The Auto-Breaker and the Battery Box both use one.[12]

Where to go next
A good next build is the Coffee Maker, which uses your Basic Coil. In this pack it also counts for the a quest in "?" quest, because the Coffee Maker gives villagers the Engineer profession.[12][13]

Later, the pack's Creative chapter has you drop a Lens in front of your Reconstructor to turn it into a Lens of Color, then into a Lens of Detonation. You keep going until you reach the Lens of Certain Death for the a quest in "?" quest. You then craft that into the Lens of the Killer (WIP) for a quest in "?".[10][12]
Unverified The Coal Generator, Atomic Reconstructor and Coffee Maker all need an Iron Casing, but its recipe isn't included in the sources for this section. Look it up in JEI or the in-game manual. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How does Actually Additions work?
7 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Actually Additions is built around one loop: you turn minerals into crystals with the Atomic Reconstructor and the Empowerer, and those crystals unlock machines for processing and sorting items, plus lasers that move energy, items and fluids wirelessly. The mod also adds renewable oil for power. This section covers how those systems behave in the pack, as far as the sources explain them.[1]
The Atomic Reconstructor
The Atomic Reconstructor is your entry point. The mod even has an achievement for making a crystal with it. In the pack it can store 300,000 energy, set by machineSettings.reconstructorPower, which is the mod default. Its Mining Lens uses 60,000 energy, set by machineSettings.minerLensEnergy, also the mod default.[14][15]

Coils
Coils show up as ingredients in several of the mod's crafts. The Basic Coil is the first tier, and the Advanced Coil is the next. The pack changed the Advanced Coil recipe, so don't rely on the mod's default version. Use the recipe below.[16]

Laser relays: energy, items and fluids
Laser relays are how you network machines. In the pack's config, Energy Laser Relays are set to have energy loss, because machineSettings.laserRelayLoss is true.[15]
The pack's config sets machineSettings.fluidLaserTransferRate, the amount of fluid the Fluid Laser Relay can transfer per tick, to 2,147,483,647. The mod default is 10,000, so this is a big change.[15]
Laser relays can be set to move things only out of adjacent blocks or only into adjacent blocks. To change this you need to hold the relay configurator item. In the pack that item is a compass, set by other.relayConfigurator.[14][15]
Item automation with interfaces
The mod's in-game text explains that an Item Laser Relay network on its own only knows about the items and slots in the containers connected to it. To work with those items, you place an Item Interface next to an Item Laser Relay. The interface pretends to be one very large chest holding every slot of every connected container.[14]
That means a hopper or any other item transport can insert into it and pull from it like a chest. Nothing is actually stored in the interface. Items go to and come from the relay network.[14]
The mod's in-game text says the Hopping Item Interface connects the same way, by placing it next to an Item Laser Relay. The difference is that it pulls and pushes items on its own, with the functionality of a hopper, and it stores items in the network instead of an internal inventory.[14]
Machine area and generator settings
Several machines have a working area or rate you can tune in the config. For the settings below, the pack's value matches the mod default.[15]
- Farmer: the pack's config sets the farming area to 9x9, and it must be an odd number (machineSettings.farmerArea). You change the area in-game by right-clicking while holding the farmer configurator, a compass in the pack (other.farmerConfigurator).[14][15]
- Leaf Generator: in the pack's config it harvests a 7x7x7 area (machineSettings.leafGeneratorArea), waits 5 ticks between generation cycles (machineSettings.leafGeneratorCooldown), and produces 300 CF per leaf (machineSettings.leafGeneratorCPPerLeaf).[15]
- Oil Generator: the pack's config sets its transfer to 500 power per tick (machineSettings.oilGeneratorTransfer).[15]
Vertical Digger and Drill filters
The config describes the Vertical Digger as mining everything in the forge ores tags by default. machineSettings.verticalDiggerBlacklist stops it mining listed blocks in both modes. machineSettings.verticalDiggerExtraWhitelist adds extra blocks, but only in Ores Only Mode. The pack leaves both lists empty.[15]
The Drill has its own extra list, itemsSettings.drillExtraWhitelist. The pack's config sets it to a single entry, TConstruct:GravelOre.[15]
Redstone mode and batteries
The in-game text says you toggle a machine's redstone mode by right-clicking it while holding the redstone configurator. In the pack that item is a redstone torch (other.redstoneConfigurator).[14][15]
The battery tooltips say a sneak-right-click toggles between charging other items in your inventory and not charging them.[14]
Some machines are built as multiblocks. The mod has a message for when a controller is not part of the right multiblock, and it points you to the controller's description, so read that description before building.[14]
How do you progress through Actually Additions?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 5.2 guide
Actually Additions doesn't get its own quest chapter in this pack. Instead it shows up in a few quests spread across other chapters: the Coal Generator in Basic Power, the Atomic Reconstructor and its lenses in Chapter 4: Creative, and the Coffee Maker in Tips and Tricks. Outside those quests, the recipes set the progression. Machines are built on Iron Casings, coils and crystals.[10][11][12][13]
Early game: your first power
Your first step is the a quest in "?" quest in the Basic Power chapter, which unlocks after Early Game Power Options. The Coal Generator completes it, and so do coal generators from a couple of other mods. The quest calls these some of the easiest generators to make. They're simple to run, produce power based on the fuel you put in, and push power to adjacent blocks automatically.[11]

Keep making Iron Casing. The Coal Generator, Atomic Reconstructor, Coffee Maker, Crusher, Double Crusher and Bio Reactor all use it, so it's the backbone of almost every machine in the mod.[12]
Coils: the component tiers
Machine recipes are split by coil tier. The Basic Coil comes first and goes into early machines like the Crusher, Auto-Breaker and Battery Box. The Advanced Coil is built from a Basic Coil and unlocks the next tier.[12]

Crystals and empowered crystals
Crystals are the other big progression resource. Each type comes as a shard, a crystal and a block. Shards compress into a crystal, crystals compress into a block, and you can craft them back down. Each crystal type also has an empowered version with its own block.[12]
- Restonia Crystal, made from Red Crystal Shard. You need it for the Basic Coil and the Crusher.[12]
- Palis Crystal, made from Blue Crystal Shard.[12]
- Diamatine Crystal, made from Light Blue Crystal Shard. The Advanced Leaf Blower uses it.[12]
- Void Crystal, made from Black Crystal Shard. The Auto-Breaker and Coffee Maker use it.[12]
- Emeradic Crystal, made from Green Crystal Shard.[12]
- Enori Crystal, made from White Crystal Shard. The Canola Press uses it, and its empowered form, Empowered Enori Crystal, goes into the Bio Reactor.[12]
Unverified The sources don't cover how to get the crystal shards or crystals in the first place, or how to empower a crystal. Check the in-game manual or JEI for those steps. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Atomic Reconstructor and lenses
The mod's main quest line is in Chapter 4: Creative. It starts with the a quest in "?" quest for the Atomic Reconstructor, which the quest calls a pretty useful machine for such a simple recipe.[10]

- Place the Atomic Reconstructor so it faces where you want it to fire, just like a dispenser. Then give it power.[10]
- Set its redstone mode with a Redstone Torch. In deactivate mode, it turns off when it gets a redstone signal. In pulse mode, it fires each time it gets a signal.[10]
- For the a quest in "?" quest, drop a Lens item in front of the Reconstructor and it turns into a Lens of Color when the machine fires. Drop that in front and it becomes a Lens of Detonation. Keep going until you get the Lens of Certain Death.[10][12]
- For the a quest in "?" quest, you're done with dropping lenses. Craft the Lens of Certain Death into the Lens of the Killer (WIP).[10][12]

How does Actually Additions work with other mods?
7 parts
Actually Additions doesn't live in its own bubble in this pack. Several pack-added recipes and quests pull its items into other mods' progression. Here are the connections the in-pack data confirms.[4][5][6][17]
Mystical Agriculture: Black Quartz
The pack adds a crafting recipe that turns Mystical Agriculture's Black Quartz Essence into Black Quartz.[17]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: kubejs:mysticalagriculture/black_quartz_essence_crafting
Productive Bees
Productive Bees has a bee conversion recipe that takes a Block of Black Quartz and gives the Productive Bees black quartz item. This recipe comes from the mod itself, not from the pack.[17]
Modular Machinery Reborn
The pack adds a recipe for the modular_machinery_reborn:blueprint that uses two Actually Additions items: the Laser Wrench and the Lens of Color, together with a Modularium Plate.[17]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: minecraft:kjs/modular_machinery_reborn_blueprint
Modern Industrialization Runic hatches
This one is a big cross-mod recipe chain. The Runic hatches (item input, item output, fluid input, fluid output and energy input) are made in Modern Industrialization's Auto Forge with pack-added recipes. Each one includes an Actually Additions laser relay, along with items from AllTheOres, EvilCraft, Forbidden Arcanus and Mekanism. Here's the Runic Energy Input Hatch as an example.[17]

This one uses the Energy Laser Relay. The other four Runic hatches have their own Auto Forge recipes.
The fluid hatches use the Fluid Laser Relay, and the item hatches use the Item Laser Relay. The energy hatch uses the Energy Laser Relay.[17]
The ATM Star
The ATM Star is crafted in a Modern Industrialization Star Altar with a pack-added recipe. That recipe includes the Lens of the Killer (WIP), which is marked WIP in its name. It also uses Forbidden Arcanus dusts and five ATM Star shards.[17]

The quest book follows the same path. In the ATM Star chapter, three quests run in order: a quest in "?" asks for the Atomic Reconstructor, then a quest in "?" asks for the Lens of Certain Death, then a quest in "?" asks for the Lens of the Killer.[4]
Sawmill: Crafting Table On A Stick
The pack adds many Sawmill woodcutting recipes that produce the Crafting Table On A Stick. Each one takes the log, wood and stripped variants of a different tree type, from Productive Trees, Regions Unexplored, Biomes We've Gone, Twilight Forest, Undergarden and Eternal Starlight. Here's one example, using Key Lime wood.[17]

Quests that accept Actually Additions items
- a quest in "?" in the basic power chapter accepts the Coal Generator. A Just Dire Things generator or an RFTools Power coal generator also counts, so you can pick whichever you prefer.[5]
- a quest in "?" in the tips and tricks chapter accepts the Coffee Maker. It is one of many alternatives from other mods, including the Sawmill, a Modern Industrialization forge hammer and an AE2 charger.[6]
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Actually Additions?
3 parts
Actually Additions shows up in three quest chapters in this pack. In the quest files, none of these quests have a title, so I'll point to each one by its quest reference.[4][5][6]
The chapter achapter_2r_6the_atm_star
This chapter has the most Actually Additions content, and the three quests run as a chain. Each one unlocks after the one before it.[4]
- a quest in "?" asks you to obtain the Atomic Reconstructor. It has no prerequisite in this chain, so it's the starting point.[4]
- a quest in "?" comes after the first quest and asks for the Lens of Certain Death.[4]
- a quest in "?" comes after that and asks for the Lens of the Killer (WIP).[4]
Basic Power
In the chapter "basic_power", a quest in "?" accepts the Coal Generator as one of several options. A generator from another mod also completes it: the task lists justdirethings:generatort1 and rftoolspower:coalgenerator as alternatives. So you don't have to use Actually Additions here. The quest unlocks after an earlier quest in the same chapter.[5]
Tips and Tricks
In the chapter "tips_and_tricks", a quest in "?" accepts the Coffee Maker, but it is only one choice among many. The task is an "or" list, so one item from any of these mods completes it. The list includes Modern Industrialization's forge hammer, AE2's charger, Ars Nouveau's arcane core, PneumaticCraft's charging station and a white banner. It unlocks after an earlier quest in that chapter.[6]
Which Actually Additions config options matter?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Almost everything for this mod lives in a single file, config/actuallyadditions-common.toml. The good news is that the pack barely touches it. Only the fluid transfer rate is flagged as changed from the mod default, so for the rest you can plan around the normal Actually Additions numbers.[15]
The value the pack changed
machineSettings.fluidLaserTransferRate controls how much fluid a Fluid Laser Relay can transfer per tick. The mod default is 10,000, but this pack sets it to 2,147,483,647.[15]
Machine settings
- machineSettings.farmerArea is 9, the same as the mod default. That gives the farmer a 9x9 area, and the value must be an odd number.[15]
- machineSettings.leafGeneratorArea is 7 (a 7x7x7 harvesting area), machineSettings.leafGeneratorCooldown is 5 ticks between generation cycles, and machineSettings.leafGeneratorCPPerLeaf is 300 CF per leaf. All of these match the mod defaults.[15]
- machineSettings.reconstructorPower is 300,000, so that is how much power the Atomic Reconstructor can store. machineSettings.minerLensEnergy is 60,000, the energy use of its Mining Lens. Both match the mod defaults.[15]
- machineSettings.oilGeneratorTransfer is 500 power per tick, the mod default.[15]
- machineSettings.laserRelayLoss is true, so Energy Laser Relays have energy loss.[15]
What the drill and Vertical Digger can mine
The Vertical Digger mines everything in the forge:ores tags by default. In this pack both machineSettings.verticalDiggerBlacklist and machineSettings.verticalDiggerExtraWhitelist are empty, so nothing is added or removed.[15]
The drill's extra list, itemsSettings.drillExtraWhitelist, contains a single entry: TConstruct:GravelOre.[15]
Configurator tools
- other.farmerConfigurator uses Compass to configure the area in a farmer.[15]
- other.relayConfigurator also uses Compass, to configure direction in laser relays.[15]
- other.redstoneConfigurator uses Redstone Torch to configure Redstone Mode.[15]
Worldgen and other toggles
Canola (worldgenSettings.generateCanola), coffee (worldgenSettings.generateCoffee), flax (worldgenSettings.generateFlax) and Black Quartz (worldgenSettings.generateQuartz) all generate in the world. Mod loot in dungeons is on too (other.villageAndDungeonLoot), and Tiny Coal and Tiny Charcoal are craftable (other.tinyCoal).[15]
Tilling soil can drop worms (other.tillingWorms). They never die on their own, because other.wormDeathTime is 0, the mod default. The booklet is given when you first craft something from the mod (other.giveBookletOnFirstCraft).[15]
What changed in Actually Additions between versions?
Actually Additions has been part of All the Mods 10 since version 2.2 or earlier. All the Mods 10 4.5 ships version 1.3.19, built for Minecraft 1.21.1.[2]
Here are the pack releases that updated the mod, from oldest to newest:[18][19][20][21][22]
- All the Mods 10 2.32: Actually Additions went from 1.3.13 to 1.3.14.[22]
- All the Mods 10 2.36: Actually Additions went from 1.3.14 to 1.3.15.[21]
- All the Mods 10 2.40: Actually Additions went from 1.3.15 to 1.3.16.[20]
- All the Mods 10 2.42: Actually Additions went from 1.3.16 to 1.3.17.[19]
- All the Mods 10 2.47: Actually Additions went from 1.3.17 to 1.3.19, which is the version 4.5 still uses.[2][18]
Unverified The pack changelogs only list version bumps. The sources here do not include the mod's own changelogs for these jars, so what actually changed in each version (new features, fixes, balance tweaks) is unverified, and so is whether any of it changed recipes or behavior in the pack.
