What is Actually Additions?
1 part
Actually Additions is a long-time fan-favorite magitech mod packed with fun and useful gadgets. If you like tech mods that feel a little bit magical, it's a great one to explore.[1]
Everything starts with the Atomic Reconstructor and the Empowerer. You use them to turn minerals into powerful crystals. Those crystals unlock the rest of the mod: machines for processing and sorting items, lasers that move energy, items and fluids wirelessly, and renewable oil for generating power.[1]
This pack runs Actually Additions version 1.3.14 for Minecraft 1.21.1.[2]
The mod comes with its own in-game guide booklet, which has a getting-started section, an intro chapter and a chapter on crystals. It's the best place to learn the mod step by step.[3][4][5]
Where it fits in the pack
Actually Additions appears in the pack's ATM Star quest chapter as a short chain of three quests. The first asks for an Atomic Reconstructor (a quest in "?"). The next asks for a Lens of Certain Death (a quest in "?"). The last asks for a Lens of the Killer (WIP) (a quest in "?"). Each quest unlocks after the one before it.[6]
Unverified Whether this chain is actually required to finish the ATM Star could not be confirmed. The quest data only shows the three quests in that chapter, not how the rest of the ATM Star path depends on them.
How do you get started with Actually Additions?
4 parts
Actually Additions is a magitech mod built around one big idea: you use the Atomic Reconstructor and the Empowerer to turn minerals into powerful crystals, and those crystals unlock machines for processing and sorting items, lasers that move energy, items and fluids wirelessly, renewable oil for power, and a lot more. Here's a sensible order for your first steps in this pack.[1]
Step 1: Grab the manual
The mod's in-game manual, the Actually Additions Manual (WIP), is a cheap first craft. It has a Getting Started section with an intro, a tutorial on using the book, and chapters on crystals. There's even an achievement just for opening it.[3][4][5][8][9][10]
The manual needs Canola Seeds, which you craft from Canola Plant.[9]
While you're crafting early stuff, the Crafting Table On A Stick is worth a look. Its recipe uses only a vanilla crafting table and a sign, with no Actually Additions materials.[9]

Step 2: Iron Casing and your first machines
The Iron Casing shows up in a lot of early machines, including the Atomic Reconstructor, the Coal Generator, the Coffee Maker and the Bio Reactor. You'll want a few of them.[9]
Unverified The provided sources don't include the Iron Casing recipe, so check it in-game with your recipe viewer. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Next, build the Atomic Reconstructor. This is the heart of the mod. It's also the first quest in an Actually Additions chain in the pack's quest book (a quest in "?"), and making a crystal with it earns you an achievement.[1][6][9][10]

Unverified The sources don't confirm how much power the Atomic Reconstructor uses or how much the Coal Generator makes. Check the manual in-game for details.
Step 3: Crystals and coils
Crystals are what everything else runs on. If you pick up crystal shards, you can compress them into full crystals. For example, Red Crystal Shard compresses into Restonia Crystal. Crystals also compress into crystal blocks.[1][9]
Your first crystal-based component is the Basic Coil, made from Black Quartz and Restonia Crystal. Basic Coils go into machines like the Auto-Breaker, the Battery Box and the Coffee Maker.[9]

Unverified The sources don't say where to find Black Quartz in this pack.
The Advanced Coil is made from Basic Coils, and this pack changed its recipe, so use the in-pack version below rather than what you remember from other packs. You'll need Advanced Coils for things like the Canola Press and the Advanced Leaf Blower.[9]

Where the quests take you
After the Atomic Reconstructor, the quest chain asks for the Lens of Certain Death (a quest in "?"), made from a Lens of Detonation. Then it asks for the Lens of the Killer (WIP) (a quest in "?"), crafted from the Lens of Certain Death and a diamond sword.[6][9]

How does Actually Additions work?
7 parts
Almost everything in this mod comes from one idea: you turn ordinary minerals into powerful crystals, then use those crystals to build machines. The two key tools for this are the Atomic Reconstructor and the Empowerer. The machines they unlock cover item processing and sorting, lasers that wirelessly move energy, items and fluids, and renewable oil you can burn for power.[1]
Crystals and the Atomic Reconstructor
The Atomic Reconstructor is where your progression starts. Making your first crystal with it even counts as its own achievement. It is built from an Iron Casing plus some basic materials, so you can get one early.[1][9][10]

The crystals then become the parts for everything else. You'll find Restonia Crystal, Enori Crystal, Void Crystal, Diamatine Crystal and Empowered Enori Crystal across the machine recipes in this pack.[9]
Coils: the core components
Coils are the parts you'll craft over and over. The Basic Coil goes into machines like the Auto-Breaker and the Battery Box, and it is also the base for the Advanced Coil.[9]

The Advanced Coil then feeds into later gear such as the Canola Press and the Advanced Leaf Blower.[9]
Power
The mod measures energy in CF. Hover over the Coal Generator's tooltip to see how much it produces: the total CF, the CF per tick, and how many ticks it runs. Other power options include the Leaf-Eating Generator and renewable oil, which starts from canola and the Canola Press.[1][9][10]

Batteries can top up your other gear. Sneak-right-click a battery to switch between charging the other items in your inventory and not charging them. The tooltip shows which mode it's in.[10]
Laser Relays and item networks
Lasers are how this mod moves energy, items and fluids without cables. Relays come in several tiers, including the Advanced Laser Relay and the Extreme Laser Relay. For energy relays, you right-click to change a setting shown on the relay's display.[1][10]
An Item Laser Relay network knows about every item and slot in the containers connected to it. On its own, though, it doesn't let you take anything out. To interact with those items you need an Item Interface. Connect it to the network by placing an Item Laser Relay next to it.[10]
The Item Interface acts like one very large chest that contains every slot of every connected container. You can use a Hopper or any other item transport on it just like a chest, both to insert items and to pull them out. Nothing is stored in the interface itself: items go to, and come from, the Laser Relay network.[10]
The Hopping Item Interface connects to the network the same way. The difference is that you don't need to pipe items into it, because it pulls and pushes items on its own. It has everything a Hopper can do, but it stores items in the network instead of an internal inventory.[10]
- Relay modes let a relay work in one direction only: either only out of adjacent blocks, or only into adjacent blocks. The relay tells you to hold a specific item to change the mode.[10]
- On Item Laser Relays, right-click to increase the displayed value and sneak-right-click to decrease it.[10]
- In filters, an empty blocklist lets every item through and an empty allowlist lets nothing through. To configure specific items, place those items or configured Item Filters in the slots.[10]
- The smart button adds every item from inventories next to the relay into that part of the allowlist or blocklist. Any Item Filters you already added to the list get filled as well.[10]
- Mod matching makes a filter compare which mod an item comes from instead of the item itself. This is handy for storage systems that use chests from a particular mod.[10]
Fluids
Lasers can move fluids as well as items and energy. There is also a Phantom Liquiface, the fluid counterpart to the Phantom Energyface.[1][10]
Multiblocks
The Lava Factory is a multiblock built around a controller. If the controller isn't part of the correct structure, its tooltip warns you and tells you to check the controller's description. Once the structure is complete, the tooltip confirms the Lava Factory can produce lava.[10]
Configuring your machines
Some machines that insert into or extract from an inventory let you pick a slot range. You enter the first slot and the slot after the last one. For example, entering 2 and 5 makes the machine work with slots 2, 3 and 4.[10]
Other settings are changed by right-clicking while holding the right item. Redstone mode is toggled this way, and the Farmer's farming area is adjusted the same way. The block's message tells you which item you need.[10]
Unverified The sources don't say which item you hold to change relay modes, redstone modes or the farming area, or exactly what the Item Laser Relay's value controls. They also don't cover the Empowerer's recipes or the Lava Factory's block layout. Check the in-game manual for those details.
How do you progress through Actually Additions?
5 parts
Actually Additions has no chapter of its own in this pack's quest book, but it does appear in the quests. You can read its progression from the in-pack recipes: crystals first, then the Basic Coil, then the Advanced Coil and empowered crystals. This section walks through those tiers in order.[6][7][9]
Getting started: the manual
Craft the Actually Additions Manual (WIP) first. It's the mod's in-game guide, with chapters that include getting started, crystals and the engineer house. The recipe uses Canola Seeds, which you get by breaking down Canola Plant.[3][5][8][9][11]
Tier 1: Black Quartz, crystals and the Basic Coil
The crystals are the backbone of the mod. Each colour comes as shards, full crystals and blocks, and you can compress and decompress between them at a crafting table. For example, Red Crystal Shard compresses into Restonia Crystal, which compresses into Restonia Crystal Block. The same pattern works for Enori, Palis, Void, Emeradic and Diamatine.[9]
Your first real component is the Basic Coil, made from Black Quartz and a Restonia Crystal. It goes into your first wave of machines.[9]

- Auto-Breaker: needs a Basic Coil and a Void Crystal.[9]
- Coffee Maker: needs a Basic Coil, an Iron Casing, Coffee Beans and a Void Crystal.[9]
- Battery Box: needs a Basic Coil, an Energizer and an Enervator.[9]
The Coal Generator also needs an Iron Casing but no coil, so it's an easy early power source.[9]

The Atomic Reconstructor quest chain
The pack's quest book has a short three-step chain for this mod. It starts with a quest in "?", which asks for the Atomic Reconstructor. The Reconstructor is a crafting-table recipe built around an Iron Casing.[6][9]

Next, a quest in "?" wants a Lens of Certain Death. You don't craft this lens at a table. It comes from a laser recipe that converts a Lens of Detonation.[6][9]

Finally, a quest in "?" asks for the Lens of the Killer (WIP). You craft it shapeless from the Lens of Certain Death, so keep that lens around after the previous quest.[6][9]
Tier 2: the Advanced Coil
The Advanced Coil is an upgrade of the Basic Coil. Heads up: this pack changed its recipe from the mod's default, so check the recipe below instead of relying on older guides or videos.[9]

Tier 3: empowered crystals
Each crystal also has an empowered version, such as the Empowered Enori Crystal, which compresses into a block like the normal ones. Some machines need them. For example, the Bio Reactor needs an Empowered Enori Crystal.[9]

Unverified The provided sources don't show how to obtain crystal shards, Black Quartz, Iron Casing or the empowered crystals, or which machine processes the laser recipes. Check the in-game manual or recipe viewer for those steps. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How does Actually Additions work with other mods?
4 parts
Actually Additions isn't just a standalone tech mod in this pack. Several pack-made recipes and quests tie it into other mods, so some of its gadgets end up as stepping stones for progression elsewhere. Here's where the connections are.[6][9]
Crafting Modular Machinery Blueprints
If you want to build multiblock machines with Modular Machinery Reborn, you'll need Actually Additions first. The pack added its own recipe for the modular_machinery_reborn:blueprint, and that recipe calls for Actually Additions items. Check the recipe below before you start planning machines.[9]

Growing Black Quartz with Mystical Agriculture
Tired of hunting for Black Quartz? The pack adds a crafting recipe that turns Black Quartz Essence into Black Quartz. That lets you farm it with Mystical Agriculture instead of mining it.[9]

The ATM Star path
Actually Additions also has a place in the pack's ATM Star quest chapter. The chapter has a short chain of Actually Additions quests. Each one unlocks after the one before it.[6]
- Get an Atomic Reconstructor to complete a quest in "?".[6]
- Next, get a Lens of Certain Death for a quest in "?".[6]
- Finally, get the Lens of the Killer (WIP) for a quest in "?".[6]
The Lens of the Killer is needed because it's an input in a pack-added Modular Machinery Reborn machine recipe. That recipe also uses the ATM Star, Forbidden Arcanus dusts and the pack's ATM Star shards.[9]

Tips and Tricks quest
In the pack's Tips and Tricks chapter, a quest in "?" accepts any one of several items from different mods. The Actually Additions Coffee Maker is one of them, so if you already have one, you can use it to complete that quest.[7]
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Actually Additions?
2 parts
Actually Additions appears in two quest chapters in this pack. Most of it is a short three-quest chain in the ATM Star chapter. It also shows up once in the Tips and Tricks chapter, where one of its machines is an alternative answer.[6][7]
ATM Star chapter
This chapter has three Actually Additions quests that unlock one after another. Each one asks you to get a single item, and you have to finish each quest before the next one opens.[6]
- a quest in "?" starts the chain. It asks for an Atomic Reconstructor.[6]
- a quest in "?" opens after the Reconstructor quest. It asks for a Lens of Certain Death.[6]
- a quest in "?" opens after the Lens of Certain Death quest. It asks for a Lens of the Killer (WIP).[6]
Unverified The pack files list these three quests in the ATM Star chapter, but they don't show whether you need them to craft the Star itself. Treat them as part of the chapter, not as confirmed Star requirements.
Tips and Tricks chapter
a quest in "?" in the Tips and Tricks chapter accepts any one of a long list of workstations from different mods. The Coffee Maker is one of the accepted items, so if you already have one, it counts. This quest opens after another quest in the same chapter.[7]
What changed in Actually Additions between versions?
1 part
Actually Additions has been part of All the Mods 10 for a long time. It was first included in version 1.9 of the pack or earlier, so it's been along for the ride through most of the pack's life.[2]
Pack updates
- All the Mods 10 2.32: Actually Additions was updated from 1.3.13 to 1.3.14.[12]
- All the Mods 10 2.34: the pack ships Actually Additions 1.3.14, in the file actuallyadditions-1.3.14+mc1.21.1.jar.[2]
If you're playing 2.34, you're on 1.3.14, the same version the pack moved to back in 2.32.[2][12]
Unverified The specific changes between Actually Additions 1.3.13 and 1.3.14, such as new features, fixes or balance tweaks, couldn't be confirmed because the mod's own changelogs for these versions aren't available here.
