What is RFTools Power?
2 parts
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools family that adds power generators and power storage. If you want a compact way to make and bank energy for your machines, this is a good place to start. This pack includes version 1.21-7.0.6, and the mod requires RFTools Base.[1][2]
What it adds
- A simple generator that burns coal or charcoal. In this pack that's the Coal Generator.[1][3]
- A blazing generator that runs on blaze rods.[1]
- An endergenic generator that runs on ender pearls.[1]
- A dimensional powercell that can store and transfer power across great distances, even between dimensions.[1]
- A multiblock power storage setup for holding much more power.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
You'll first meet RFTools Power in the Basic Power quest chapter. The quest "Coal Generators" quest comes after Early Game Power Options. It accepts the Coal Generator or a coal generator from another mod, so you can pick whichever suits you. The quest describes these generators as some of the easiest to make and very simple to use.[3]
Storage comes next with "RFTools Power: Powercells" quest, which follows the Storing Power quest. It accepts any of the Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) or Powercell (High). The quest describes Powercells as multi-block storage units that you can customize and upgrade.[3]
How do you get started with RFTools Power?
4 parts
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools mods that adds power generation and power storage. It needs RFTools Base, which is also where the Machine Frame and other core parts come from. In this pack the sensible order is to generate power first, then store it, then move on to the fancier generators.[1]
Step 1: a Coal Generator
Start with the Coal Generator. The pack's quest book calls coal generators some of the easiest generators to make. They are simple to use, they give a decent amount of power based on the combustible material you feed them, and they automatically pass power to adjacent blocks. The mod's own description says it runs on coal or charcoal. The pack leaves this recipe as the mod's default.[1][3][4]

The quest "Coal Generators" quest accepts this generator, but also the Actually Additions and Just Dire Things coal generators, so you can pick whichever suits you.[3]
Step 2: a Powercell
Once you are producing power, you need somewhere to put it. The Powercell (Low) is the first storage block. The quest "RFTools Power: Powercells" quest describes powercells as multi-block storage units that you can customize and upgrade. Bring a Wrench, because you use it to set the inputs and outputs for power.[3]
The pack changed the Powercell (Low) recipe, and it also changed the recipe for its key part, the Power Core (Low). Don't rely on what you remember from other modpacks. Craft the core first, then the cell:[4]

Step 3: upgrade your storage
You don't build the bigger cells from scratch: each one upgrades the cell below it. The Powercell (Medium) and Powercell (High) recipes are the mod's defaults, but the pack changed the recipes for the Power Core (Medium) and Power Core (High) they rely on. Each cell comes right after its core below.[4]

Where to go next
When the coal generator can't keep up, the mod has two more generators: the Blazing Generator and the Endergenic. It also adds the Dimensional Cell, which can store and transfer power over great distances and across dimensions. The pack changed the recipes for all three, so check them before you gather materials.[1][4]

How does RFTools Power work?
5 parts
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools mods, and it needs RFTools Base to work. The sources for this pack only describe it at a high level, so this section covers what the mod offers and how the pack changes its crafting. It doesn't go deep into numbers.[1]
Power generation
There are three generators, each with its own fuel.[1][4]
- Coal Generator: the simple option, which runs on coal or charcoal.[1][4]
- Blazing Generator: runs on blaze rods.[1][4]
- Endergenic: runs on ender pearls.[1][4]
The pack has changed the Blazing Generator and Endergenic recipes, so don't rely on a recipe you remember from the default mod. The Coal Generator recipe is the mod's own.[4]

Power storage
The mod has two storage systems. The dimensional powercell stores power and can transfer it across great distances, including between dimensions. There is also a multiblock power storage system for holding a lot of power.[1][4]
The dimensional cell comes in three versions: Dimensional Cell (Simple), Dimensional Cell and Dimensional Cell (Advanced). The pack has changed the recipes for all three.[4]

Powercells and Power Cores
There are three Powercell tiers: Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) and Powercell (High). They use matching Power Cores (Power Core (Low), Power Core (Medium) and Power Core (High)). The pack has changed the recipes for the Low cell and all three cores. The Medium and High cells keep the mod's own recipes.[4]

How do you progress through RFTools Power?
6 parts
In this pack, RFTools Power progression is only partly guided by quests. Two quests touch the mod, and everything else is a matter of following the recipes. Here is the path from your first generator up to the big storage and endgame generation blocks.[3][4]
Tier 1: Coal Generator
Your entry point is the Coal Generator. The quest "Coal Generators" quest unlocks after Early Game Power Options. It accepts the Coal Generator from RFTools Power, Actually Additions or Just Dire Things, so any of the three completes it. The quest describes these generators as some of the easiest to make, with power output based on the combustible material you feed in, and says they distribute power to adjacent blocks automatically.[3]
The Coal Generator recipe is the mod's own, and the pack has not changed it.[4]

Tier 2: Powercells
Once you generate power, you need somewhere to put it. The quest "RFTools Power: Powercells" quest unlocks after Storing Power and is completed by obtaining any of Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) or Powercell (High). The quest explains that Powercells are multi-block storage units you can customize and upgrade. You will also need a Wrench to set which sides are inputs and outputs.[3]
The pack changed the recipe for the Low Powercell. The Medium and High cells are the mod's own recipes, and they work as upgrades of the tier below.[4]

Power Cores
Each Powercell tier needs its matching core: Power Core (Low), Power Core (Medium) and Power Core (High). The pack changed all three recipes, so don't rely on what you remember from the base mod. Check the recipes below.[4]

Past the Coal Generator, the mod offers two more generator lines. The first is the Blazing Generator with its Blazing Agitator and Blazing Infuser. The second is the Endergenic with its Pearl Injector. In this pack the Blazing Generator, Endergenic and Pearl Injector recipes are changed, while the Blazing Agitator and Blazing Infuser use the mod's own recipes.[4]

How does RFTools Power work with other mods?
3 parts
RFTools Power is an addon, so it doesn't stand alone. The mod page says it requires RFTools Base, and the recipes in this pack show how tightly the two are tied together. A few vanilla parts show up in the recipes too, and the quest book mentions generators from two other mods.[1][3][4]
RFTools Base is the backbone
Most RFTools Power machines are built around the Machine Frame. The Power Monitor, Power Level and Ender Monitor use the Machine Base instead.[4]
Other RFTools Base materials gate the more advanced power gear. The Infused Diamond, Infused Enderpearl and Dimensional Shard each appear in recipes for generators, storage or power cores. Here is the Endergenic as an example:[4]

The Infused Enderpearl in this pack recipe comes from RFTools Base.
The Dimensional Cell tiers show how the two mods stack. The Advanced version is crafted from the regular Dimensional Cell plus an Infused Diamond from RFTools Base.[4]

Vanilla parts and shared tags
Some machines lean on vanilla components. The Power Monitor uses a Comparator, and the Pearl Injector uses a Hopper. The Coal Generator and the Ender Monitor each use a Redstone Torch.[4]

The Dimensional Cell (Simple) uses a Quartz, and the standard Dimensional Cell uses a Prismarine Shard.[4]
Many recipes ask for "any" item from a shared tag rather than one specific item. Examples are any blaze rod, any ender pearl, any redstone block or any diamond. The recipe blocks on this page show the exact in-pack version.[4]
Quest connections
In the Basic Power chapter, the Coal Generators quest (in the Fossil Fuels group, after Early Game Power Options) accepts any one of three generators: the Coal Generator, Coal Generator or Simple Coal Generator. The quest describes them as some of the easiest generators to make, and says they distribute power to adjacent blocks automatically. "Coal Generators" quest[3]
The Powercells quest in the same chapter asks for a Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) or Powercell (High). It comes after the Storing Power quest, and its text says you need a Wrench to set the inputs and outputs for power. "RFTools Power: Powercells" quest[3]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use RFTools Power?
2 parts
RFTools Power shows up in one quest chapter in the pack: Basic Power. It has two quests that involve the mod, and each one unlocks after a different earlier quest.[3]
Coal Generators
"Coal Generators" quest comes after the quest Early Game Power Options. It's a flexible task, because handing in any one of three items completes it: the Coal Generator or the equivalent coal generators from two other mods. You don't have to use the RFTools Power one.[3]
The quest describes these generators as some of the easiest to make and very simple to use. They produce a decent amount of power based on the combustible material you put in, and they automatically distribute power to adjacent blocks.[3]
Powercells
"RFTools Power: Powercells" quest comes after the quest Storing Power. Here too, one item is enough: a Powercell (Low), a Powercell (Medium) or a Powercell (High) completes it.[3]
The quest explains that Powercells are multi-block storage units that you can customize and upgrade to store power.[3]
Unverified The sources don't say whether the Coal Generators quest or the Powercells quest comes first in the chapter. They only give each quest's own prerequisite, so follow whichever one you've unlocked.
What changed in RFTools Power between versions?
1 part
All the Mods 10 8.1 ships RFTools Power 1.21-7.0.6. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 2.25 or earlier, so it's a long-time resident.[2]
Version bumps across pack releases
The pack changelogs record these updates to the mod, from oldest to newest:[5][6][7][8]
- All the Mods 10 2.41: updated from 1.21-7.0.1 to 1.21-7.0.3.[5]
- All the Mods 10 4.15: updated from 1.21-7.0.3 to 1.21-7.0.4.[6]
- All the Mods 10 5.2: updated from 1.21-7.0.4 to 1.21-7.0.5.[7]
- All the Mods 10 7.1: updated from 1.21-7.0.5 to 1.21-7.0.6, the version you get in 8.1.[2][8]
Unverified The pack changelogs only list the version bumps. They don't say what changed in each RFTools Power release, and no changelogs for the shipped jars are stored. Whether any of these updates changed blocks, recipes, balance or configs is unconfirmed.
