What is Actually Additions?
2 parts
Actually Additions is a fan-favorite magitech mod packed with fun and useful gadgets. If you like a mod that grows with you, from simple tools to full automation, this one is for you.[1]
The core loop is turning minerals into powerful crystals with the Atomic Reconstructor and the Empowerer. Those crystals unlock the rest of the mod: machines for processing and sorting items, lasers for wirelessly moving energy, items and fluids, and renewable oil for generating power.[1]
In this pack
The pack ships Actually Additions 1.3.11, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 1.2 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the modlist.[2]
The mod has its own in-game booklet, with a getting-started entry and chapters such as an intro and one on crystals. Open it when you want to see how the crystal chain fits together. Even the mod's creator, Ellpeck, says in the booklet that he never realized how much content the mod has.[3][4][5][6]
Quest book
The mod shows up in the pack's quests in a small way. One quest in the tips_and_tricks chapter, a quest in "?", accepts the Coffee Maker as one of many alternative items, alongside things from other mods like Modern Industrialization, AE2 and Immersive Engineering.[7]
Unverified The sources do not show where Actually Additions fits in the ATM Star progression path, so treat its place on that path as unconfirmed.
How do you get started with Actually Additions?
4 parts
Actually Additions is a magitech mod built around crystals. You use the Atomic Reconstructor and the Empowerer to turn minerals into crystals, and those crystals unlock machines for processing and sorting items, lasers, and power generation. So the early game is a short chain: guide, reconstructor, crystals, coils, machines.[1]
First, craft the manual
Start with the Actually Additions Manual (WIP). It's the mod's in-game guide, and it has a chapter on crystals. Opening it is also one of the mod's achievements. Keep in mind the item is labelled WIP in this pack.[5][8][9]
Next, build the Atomic Reconstructor
The Atomic Reconstructor is the machine that turns minerals into crystals, so everything else depends on it. The mod even has achievements for crafting one and for making a crystal with it.[1][9]

Then get crystals and make a Basic Coil
Crystals such as the Restonia Crystal and the Void Crystal are the building blocks for the early machines. The recipes below show how to get each one, and how the Restonia Crystal becomes the Basic Coil, which is the key early component.[8]

Finally, your first machines
With coils in hand, the Coal Generator and the Crusher are good first machines. The Coal Generator has its own crafting achievement. The mod's machines are aimed at processing items, and the Crusher is one of them. The Double Crusher is the next step up from the Crusher, and it has its own crafting achievement too.[1][8][9]

How does Actually Additions work?
7 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.34 guide
Almost everything in this mod comes from one idea: you turn ordinary minerals into powerful crystals, then use those crystals to build machines. The two key tools for this are the Atomic Reconstructor and the Empowerer. The machines they unlock cover item processing and sorting, lasers that wirelessly move energy, items and fluids, and renewable oil you can burn for power.[1]
Crystals and the Atomic Reconstructor
The Atomic Reconstructor is where your progression starts. Making your first crystal with it even counts as its own achievement. It is built from an Iron Casing plus some basic materials, so you can get one early.[1][10][11]

The crystals then become the parts for everything else. You'll find Restonia Crystal, Enori Crystal, Void Crystal, Diamatine Crystal and Empowered Enori Crystal across the machine recipes in this pack.[11]
Coils: the core components
Coils are the parts you'll craft over and over. The Basic Coil goes into machines like the Auto-Breaker and the Battery Box, and it is also the base for the Advanced Coil.[11]

Changed by the pack
The Advanced Coil then feeds into later gear such as the Canola Press and the Advanced Leaf Blower.[11]
Power
The mod measures energy in CF. Hover over the Coal Generator's tooltip to see how much it produces: the total CF, the CF per tick, and how many ticks it runs. Other power options include the Leaf-Eating Generator and renewable oil, which starts from canola and the Canola Press.[1][10][11]

Batteries can top up your other gear. Sneak-right-click a battery to switch between charging the other items in your inventory and not charging them. The tooltip shows which mode it's in.[10]
Laser Relays and item networks
Lasers are how this mod moves energy, items and fluids without cables. Relays come in several tiers, including the Advanced Laser Relay and the Extreme Laser Relay. For energy relays, you right-click to change a setting shown on the relay's display.[1][10]
An Item Laser Relay network knows about every item and slot in the containers connected to it. On its own, though, it doesn't let you take anything out. To interact with those items you need an Item Interface. Connect it to the network by placing an Item Laser Relay next to it.[10]
The Item Interface acts like one very large chest that contains every slot of every connected container. You can use a Hopper or any other item transport on it just like a chest, both to insert items and to pull them out. Nothing is stored in the interface itself: items go to, and come from, the Laser Relay network.[10]
The Hopping Item Interface connects to the network the same way. The difference is that you don't need to pipe items into it, because it pulls and pushes items on its own. It has everything a Hopper can do, but it stores items in the network instead of an internal inventory.[10]
- Relay modes let a relay work in one direction only: either only out of adjacent blocks, or only into adjacent blocks. The relay tells you to hold a specific item to change the mode.[10]
- On Item Laser Relays, right-click to increase the displayed value and sneak-right-click to decrease it.[10]
- In filters, an empty blocklist lets every item through and an empty allowlist lets nothing through. To configure specific items, place those items or configured Item Filters in the slots.[10]
- The smart button adds every item from inventories next to the relay into that part of the allowlist or blocklist. Any Item Filters you already added to the list get filled as well.[10]
- Mod matching makes a filter compare which mod an item comes from instead of the item itself. This is handy for storage systems that use chests from a particular mod.[10]
Fluids
Lasers can move fluids as well as items and energy. There is also a Phantom Liquiface, the fluid counterpart to the Phantom Energyface.[1][10]
Multiblocks
The Lava Factory is a multiblock built around a controller. If the controller isn't part of the correct structure, its tooltip warns you and tells you to check the controller's description. Once the structure is complete, the tooltip confirms the Lava Factory can produce lava.[10]
Configuring your machines
Some machines that insert into or extract from an inventory let you pick a slot range. You enter the first slot and the slot after the last one. For example, entering 2 and 5 makes the machine work with slots 2, 3 and 4.[10]
Other settings are changed by right-clicking while holding the right item. Redstone mode is toggled this way, and the Farmer's farming area is adjusted the same way. The block's message tells you which item you need.[10]
Unverified The sources don't say which item you hold to change relay modes, redstone modes or the farming area, or exactly what the Item Laser Relay's value controls. They also don't cover the Empowerer's recipes or the Lava Factory's block layout. Check the in-game manual for those details.
How do you progress through Actually Additions?
5 parts
Actually Additions doesn't have its own quest line in this pack. The only quest I can confirm that touches the mod is one in the tips_and_tricks chapter. So the tiers below are my own grouping, based on the in-pack recipes and how the machines build on each other.[7][8]
The quest tie-in
Quest a quest in "?" has no title, and it accepts any one item from a long list. The Coffee Maker is one of the options, alongside crafting stations from other mods. It comes after quest 28E60192912BEBAD, and it isn't a gate for the rest of the mod.[7]
Tier 1: Iron Casing machines
The first machines in the mod are built around the Iron Casing. The Coal Generator and the Atomic Reconstructor both belong here, so start with these.[8]

Tier 2: the Basic Coil
The Basic Coil is the next step up. It is crafted from Black Quartz and a Restonia Crystal. Several machines are built on it: the Crusher, the Auto-Breaker, the Coffee Maker and the Battery Box.[8]

Crystals and empowered crystals
Each crystal type has compress and decompress recipes. They cover Restonia, Palis, Void, Emeradic, Enori and Diamatine, and each one converts between shard, crystal and block. Empowered versions also exist, and some machines need them. The Bio Reactor needs an Empowered Enori Crystal, for example.[8]

Unverified The sources I have don't confirm how raw crystals and empowered crystals are obtained in this pack, so check the in-game Actually Additions Manual for that.
How does Actually Additions work with other mods?
1 part
There isn't much to say here, and I'd rather be upfront about that. The only connection I can confirm between Actually Additions and other mods in this pack is a single quest. I found no cross-mod recipes.[7]
The Tips and Tricks quest
In the "tips_and_tricks" quest chapter, quest a quest in "?" has a task that accepts several different items. The Coffee Maker is one of the options, and the others come from different mods.[7]
The task is written as a list of alternatives. The other items come from modern_industrialization (forge hammer), ae2 (charger), ars_nouveau (arcane core), biomeswevegone (forager's table), railcraft (manual and powered rolling machines), immersiveengineering (crafting table, workbench, circuit table and turntable), pneumaticcraft (charging station) and sawmill (sawmill). A vanilla white banner is on the list too.[7]
Unverified I couldn't confirm any in-pack recipes that combine Actually Additions items with items from other mods, and none of the other quests I was given link it to another mod. Any further integrations are unverified.
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Actually Additions?
Actually Additions only shows up in one quest chapter in this pack: tips_and_tricks. The quest there is a quest in "?", and it has no title in the quest data.[7]
The task is a pick-one list. You can hand in the Coffee Maker or any other item on the list, such as the Modern Industrialization forge hammer, the AE2 charger, the Ars Nouveau arcane core, the Railcraft rolling machines, the Immersive Engineering crafting table, workbench, circuit table and turntable, the PneumaticCraft charging station, the sawmill, a white banner, or the Forager's Table from Oh The Biomes We've Gone. So you don't need the Coffee Maker specifically to finish it.[7]
For order, this quest comes after a quest in "?" in the same chapter, so finish that one first. The sources show no other Actually Additions quests, so there is nothing further to follow up on for this mod.[7]
Unverified The quest data I was given doesn't show a title, description or rewards for this quest, so I can't tell you what you get for completing it.
What changed in Actually Additions between versions?
5 parts
All the Mods 10 1.27 ships Actually Additions 1.3.11 for Minecraft 1.21.1, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.2 or earlier. Here are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs, newest first.[2]
Unverified No pack changelog entries for this mod were available, so anything the pack itself changed about Actually Additions is unverified here.
1.3.11
- You can change the Farmer's work area with a compass. The Farmer also now plays nicely with non-vanilla farmland, can plant potatoes and carrots, and makes sounds when planting.[12]
- Fluid collectors can collect water and lava from filled cauldrons.[12]
- The Energizer and Enervator gained an off-hand slot.[12]
- The crop drop tables were overhauled to be more in line with 1.12 numbers, and native right click harvesting was re-added to the mod's crops.[12]
- Stonecutter recipes were added for the walls, stairs and slabs, and the Black Quartz wall recipe conflicts were fixed.[12]
- The Drills are now explicitly unbreakable, with a further fix for drills breaking in certain circumstances.[12]
1.3.10
- Many machines now keep their contents when you break them. Coal Generator, Oil Generator, Leaf eating generator, Crushers, Display Stand, Powered Furnace, Atomic Reconstructor, Coffee Machine and Farmer retain energy.[13]
- Oil Generator, Coffee Machine, Fluid Placer, Fluid Collector, Canola Press and Fermenting Barrel retain fluids.[13]
- Atomic Reconstructor, Fluid Placer, Fluid Collector, Breaker, Placer and Dropper retain their redstone state.[13]
- A config option was added to disable the energy overlay.[13]
1.3.9 and 1.3.8
- 1.3.9 changed laser rendering to be compatible with Iris and fixed the drill breaking when out of energy.[14]
- 1.3.8 allowed seeds and crops to be composted and added tiny coal and charcoal to the furnace fuel datamap.[15]
- 1.3.8 also changed the sound types of the casing blocks, some machines, and the crystal blocks and clusters.[15]
1.3.7 and 1.3.6
- 1.3.7 added recipes for the mod's crops in the Immersive Engineering cloche, and fixed the Vertical Miner / Phantom Breaker not breaking or harvesting blocks properly.[16]
- 1.3.7 also fixed Energy lasers not properly filling Mekanism energy cubes.[16]
- 1.3.6 added worldgen of Canola, Flax and Coffee patches, with a config option to disable it.[17]
- 1.3.6 fixed the Engineer's House not generating, and fixed the Coffee Machine not consuming water and Coffee not applying effects.[17]
- 1.3.6 let you open the Crafting Table On A Stick while it is in a Curios slot, and added a missing XP Solidifier recipe.[17]
