What is Farmer's Delight?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Farmer's Delight is a cozy expansion to farming and cooking. With a simple cooking system and some familiar ingredients, you can prepare a wide variety of hearty meals, from sandwiches and salads to stews and desserts.[1]
It also adds a way to improve the soil your crops grow in, new tools and weapons for hunting and gathering, and decorations for your builds. If you like building a proper kitchen and farming a little bit of everything, this mod is for you.[1]
This pack includes Farmer's Delight 1.3.4, built for Minecraft 1.21.1.[2]
Where it fits in the pack
The mod has an entry in the Food and Farming quest chapter. The quest a quest in "Food and Farming" is untitled and completes when you obtain any one of these: the Cooking Pot, the Stove, the Cutting Board, the Skillet, or the Cutting Board from Cooking for Blockheads. Any of them will do, so pick whichever fits your kitchen first.[3]
How do you get started with Farmer's Delight?
3 parts
Welcome to the kitchen! Farmer's Delight is built around a simple cooking system, and its advancements explain most of the basics. Pick up any item, then press the L key (by default) to open the Advancements screen and follow along. Here's the order I'd make things in this pack.[1]
Your first crafts, in order
- Make a Flint Knife first. Knives are lightweight melee weapons with fast swings and gentle damage. They harvest Straw from grasses and guarantee secondary drops from animals. There is also an advancement for crafting a knife.[4][5]
- Craft a Cutting Board next. With a tool in hand, you use it to break an item down.[4][5]
- Craft a Skillet. It lets you cook on the go: stand near heat, then hold the food in your other hand. You can also sneak to place it down as a block.[4][5]
- Make a Stove. The pack's recipe is shown below.[5]
- Finish with the Cooking Pot. Place it down and you can start preparing meals.[4][5]
Your first tool, and the one the knife advancement asks for.

Straw and canvas
Harvest grass, wheat or rice with a knife to collect Straw. Straw is a dry plant fiber used in crafting, and it is what you need to make Canvas. Canvas then goes into recipes like the farmersdelight:basket and the Canvas Sign.[4][5]
Straw is the ingredient to look for here.
Finding ingredients
Several crops can be found growing wild, and one may also turn up in a chest. Here is where to look:[4]
- Tomatoes grow wild in arid lands, such as savannas and deserts.[4]
- Onions and carrots grow wild in temperate lands, such as plains and forests.[4]
- Potatoes grow wild in cold lands, such as mountains and taigas.[4]
- Cabbages and beetroots grow wild on beach coasts.[4]
- Rice grows wild in the ponds of wet lands, such as swamps and jungles. You can plant rice grains in a shallow water puddle.[4]
Once you have crops, a Skillet and a Cooking Pot, you can start on the meals. Follow the advancements for the next steps, like campfire cooking and Rich Soil upgrades for your farms.[1][4]
How does Farmer's Delight work?
6 parts
Farmer's Delight is a farming and cooking mod, so there is no power, fluid or multiblock system to wire up here. What you get is a simple cooking system, a soil upgrade for your crops, knife-based gathering and a handful of food effects. This is how those pieces work in this pack.[1]
The Cooking Pot
The Cooking Pot is the heart of the mod's meals. The pack has 16 recipes of the cooking type, and they take plain ingredients and make one dish each. Here is how the pot itself is crafted in this pack:[1][5]
Crafting Shaped

| any iron ingot | any iron ingot | any iron ingot |
Recipe id: farmersdelight:cooking_pot
Cooking recipes often accept a whole category of items rather than one exact item. Baked Cod Stew wants a potato plus any tomato crop, any egg and any raw cod. Cabbage Rolls wants any cabbage crop plus any item from the mod's cabbage roll ingredients tag. Any item in the right category works.[5]
Cooking (farmersdelight)
Potato
- any tomato crop
- any egg
- any raw cod food
Recipe id: farmersdelight:cooking/baked_cod_stew
Knives and cutting recipes
The mod has 21 recipes of the cutting type in this pack, and many of them need any knife. Cutting beef gives you Minced Beef, and cutting a chicken gives you Raw Chicken Cuts plus bone meal. Cutting an Apple Pie with a knife gives you Slice of Apple Pie.[5]
Cutting (farmersdelight)
Beef
- any knife tool
Recipe id: farmersdelight:cutting/beef
Not every cutting recipe uses a knife. Cutting an acacia log gives you Tree Bark and a stripped acacia log, and that recipe lists no tool.[5]
Knives also boost what you collect. Crafting one lets you scavenge extra goods from plants and animals, and you can use one to take ham from pigs or hoglins. Harvesting grass, wheat or rice with a knife gives you straw.[4]
Heat sources for simple foods
Beef Patty can be made from minced beef in three ways: a furnace (smelting), a smoker or a campfire. The mod also adds a Stove block, and its advancements point you to placing a campfire as a way to cook food.[4][5]
Soil and crops
Organic Compost slowly decays into Rich Soil, which the mod describes as an upgrade for your farms. A fully mature mushroom colony can be sheared, but to grow one that far you need very rich soil. For tomatoes, hanging rope above the crop makes it grow taller.[4]
Meal effects
- Comfort gives natural regeneration regardless of how hungry you are. The mod says warm bowl meals keep you healing steadily.[4]
- Nourishment prevents hunger loss, except when saturation is used to heal damage. The mod says plated meals stop you getting exhausted or hungry for a while.[4]
Pack-specific changes and compat
The pack changed a Mekanism sawing recipe that turns cooked chicken into Cooked Chicken Cuts plus bone meal. So you can make cooked chicken cuts in a machine as well as by hand.[5]

How do you progress through Farmer's Delight?
3 parts
Farmer's Delight is a food and cooking mod, and in this pack the quest book only touches it once. That makes progression pretty relaxed: you pick up the basic kitchen tools, then work through the recipes at your own pace.[6]
The kitchen starter quest
The one Farmer's Delight quest I can confirm sits in the Food and Farming chapter and has no title: a quest in "Food and Farming". It is an item task that accepts any one of these: Cooking Pot, Stove, Cutting Board, Skillet, or the Cooking for Blockheads cutting board. You only need one of them to tick it off.[6]
Any one of those items completes the quest, so you can start with whichever you like. The recipes for them are shown below.[5][6]

Knives
Knives come in several materials: Flint Knife, Iron Knife, Golden Knife and Diamond Knife. The pack changes the recipes for the golden and diamond knives, so don't rely on any recipe you remember from the base mod. The blocks below show the exact in-pack versions.[5]

Other pack changes
The pack also changes the recipes for the Carrot Crate and the Beetroot Crate. If you store crops in crates, check these recipes in the recipe viewer rather than assuming the mod defaults.[5]

How does Farmer's Delight work with other mods?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Farmer's Delight doesn't live on its own in this pack. A handful of recipes tie it to Create, Immersive Engineering, Silent Gear and Supplementaries, and the pack changed each of them from its default. Here's what the pack data shows.[7]
Create: Pie Crust by mixing
You can make Pie Crust with Create mixing, using Wheat Flour and any milk. It's a pack-changed recipe, so it's a way to get your pastry base from Create's machines.[7]
Mixing (create)
Recipe id: farmersdelight:integration/create/mixing/pie_crust_from_mixing
Immersive Engineering: squeezing seeds
Immersive Engineering's squeezer has pack-changed recipes that involve Cabbage Seeds and Tomato Seeds together with Plant Oil. Check the recipe blocks below for the exact in-pack setup.[7]
Squeezer (immersiveengineering)

Silent Gear: Netherwood on the cutting board
Cut Netherwood on a Cutting Board and you get Tree Bark plus a Stripped Netherwood Log. This is a pack-changed Farmer's Delight cutting recipe.[7]
Cutting (farmersdelight)
Recipe id: farmersdelight:integration/silentgear/cutting/netherwood
Supplementaries: Planter and Sack
Supplementaries has recipes that use Farmer's Delight items. The Planter recipe uses Rich Soil, and the Sack recipe uses Canvas. Both are pack-changed crafting recipes.[7]
Quest tie-in
In the Food and Farming chapter, the quest a quest in "Food and Farming" accepts any one of several kitchen items: Cooking Pot, Stove, Cutting Board, Skillet, or Cutting Board. So a cutting board from either mod counts for it.[3]
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Farmer's Delight?
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Farmer's Delight shows up in one quest chapter in this pack: Food and Farming. The only quest I can confirm there is a quest in "Food and Farming", and it has no title in the pack files.[3]
It is an item-pick task, so you only need to get hold of one of the accepted items to complete it. Any of these works:[3]
- Cooking Pot[3]
- Stove[3]
- Cutting Board[3]
- Skillet[3]
- Cutting Board, the cutting board from Cooking for Blockheads, which this quest also accepts[3]
Unverified The sources don't say where this quest sits in the Food and Farming chapter, what it unlocks, or whether it has a reward. Check the in-game quest book for the exact order.
Which Farmer's Delight config options matter?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 1.17a guide
The Farmer's Delight project page says modpack makers are free to customize the mod as they see fit. That means a pack can change config values or recipes compared with the mod's defaults.[1]
Unverified No config files for Farmer's Delight were available for this pack, so I can't confirm any option names or values, or which ones the pack changed from the mod defaults. To avoid showing you a mod default as if it were the pack's setting, I'm leaving specific options out of this section.
What changed in Farmer's Delight between versions?
3 parts
All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.0 ships Farmer's Delight 1.2.10, the 1.21.1 build of the mod. It has been in the pack since version 1.0 or earlier. The notes below come from the mod's own changelogs for 1.2.8, 1.2.9 and 1.2.10, newest first.[8][9][10][11]
1.2.10 (the version in the pack)
- Villagers can now eat Farmer's Delight crops to become willing to breed.[9]
- Two new tags were added, farmersdelight:snacks for non-sweet multi-ingredient foods that don't need containers, and farmersdelight:sweets for desserts and similar. All the mod's foods are now properly tagged inside c:foods and its sub-tags.[9]
- The c:foods/milk tag is being phased out in favor of c:drinks/milk, and all the mod's recipes now use c:drinks/milk. The old tag still exists for backwards compatibility but will be removed in the next minor release. This matters if you write datapacks or KubeJS scripts.[9]
- The Cooking Pot's JEI widget now has its own image file, which allows custom widget editing.[9]
- Fixed the foodEffectTooltip config not affecting tooltips of vanilla foods that have Farmer's Delight effect overrides.[9]
- Fixed non-contained meals such as Dumplings being deleted when they sat in the meal slot and you used the same meal on the pot to serve it.[9]
- Fixed the Cutting Board playing sounds at the zero corner instead of at its center.[9]
- Fixed the Create integration's Chocolate Pie spouting recipe so it uses the correct fluid tag.[9]
1.2.9
- Rich Soil Farmland can now be hydrated by any fluid type capable of hydration.[10]
- Wild Cabbage and Sea Beet can now generate in any biome tagged minecraft:is_beach.[10]
- Fixed the Cooking Pot allowing players to cook and store up to 99 servings.[10]
- As a temporary fix for the Cooking Pot crashing in spectator mode, access to it is now disabled there.[10]
- Fixed the Create integration's milling recipes, which used an invalid field and never finished processing.[10]
- Fixed Rabbit Stew not returning its bowl after being eaten, and fixed a potential datapack error with cooking recipes in KubeJS.[10]
- Fixed the water-based Wheat Dough recipe still showing in JEI when disabled, and fixed the mod's special recipes living in the minecraft namespace.[10]
1.2.8
- Wheat Dough got a simpler crafting recipe built around a Water Bucket, which acts as a simple technology gate. The bucket's water isn't used up, so you can make dough indefinitely. The egg recipe is still there so auto-crafting setups don't break.[11]
- All water bucket uses in the mod now share one common tag, c:buckets/water on 1.21.1.[11]
- New item tags: #meals, #drinks and #feasts.[11]
- Knives were added to the breaks_decorated_pots tag, and the Master Chef advancement now includes additional meals.[11]
- The Cooking Pot now always cools down when a recipe becomes invalid mid-cooking, instead of sometimes losing all progress.[11]
- Fixed Rich Soil negating fall damage on 1.21.1, and fixed the turnToDirt option converting it into normal dirt.[11]
- Fixed Baskets and Cabinets lacking an item handler capability on 1.21.1.[11]
- Fixed Jack-O-Lanterns not being mineable with a Knife, and Knives with Silk Touch slicing Pumpkin blocks.[11]
- Fixed Tomato budding bush planting rules being hardcoded to vanilla farmland, the Tall-mato advancement, and HUD overlays rendering on top of AppleSkin overlays.[11]
