What is Supplementaries?
1 part
Supplementaries is a Vanilla+ mod. It adds content that fills gaps in vanilla and is meant to be functional, good-looking, and complementary to what you already have. The project page lists jars, signposts, faucets, weather vanes, spring launchers, sconces, planters and lights, plus plenty of decoration and automation pieces.[1]
It is highly configurable, so individual features can be tweaked or disabled. The mod needs Moonlight Library to run.[1]
This pack ships Supplementaries 1.21.1-3.6.7, the NeoForge build.[2]
Where the quest book places it
In the Food and Farming chapter, "Flax String" quest asks you to grow string. Its task accepts any of several flax seeds, and Flax Seeds from this mod is one of them, next to flax seeds from other mods. The quest text says some of these let you grow string directly, while others give an alternative that works in recipes. It comes after the quest "Punch the Grass".[3]
In the Industrial Foregoing chapter, a quest in "Industrial Foregoing" comes after the quest "Industrial Foregoing". The Wrench is one of the wrenches its task accepts. The quest text explains that most wrenches cannot rotate Industrial Foregoing machines, so it lists ones that can. They were tested mainly on the Laser Drill, and some wrenches might not work with other machines.[4]
Unverified Whether the ATM Star path uses Supplementaries is not shown by the sources here. Check the ATM Star chapter of the pack's quest book to see for yourself.
How do you get started with Supplementaries?
1 part
Supplementaries adds jars, signposts, faucets, spring launchers, sconces, planters and plenty of other decoration and automation pieces that fill gaps in vanilla. In this pack, every Supplementaries recipe I checked in the recipe dump is marked as changed by the pack, so always trust the recipe blocks on this page over what you remember from the base mod.[1][5]
Your first steps, in order
- Craft the Wrench. It is the mod's basic tool for rotating blocks, and using it to rotate a block even has its own advancement. The recipe is below.[5][6]
- Get some Flax Seeds. The Flax String quest ("Flax String" quest) in the Food and Farming chapter has you grow your own string, and it accepts seeds from several mods. Some let you grow string directly, while others give you an alternative that works in recipes.[3]
- If you would rather not hunt for seeds, the pack has a Farming for Blockheads market recipe for Flax Seeds. It is shown below.[5]
- Turn Flax into string with Create's milling. The pack's milling recipe for Flax gives you string and Flax Seeds, so one crop keeps feeding your next planting.[5]
- Use the Flax on something useful, such as the base Awning, which you can then dye with the dye recipes for each colour.[5]
The pack's own Wrench recipe, changed by the pack.

How does Supplementaries work?
6 parts
The project page describes Supplementaries as adding jars, signposts, faucets, weather vanes, spring launchers, sconces, planters, lights, decoration and automation. Here I stick to what the pack's config and the mod's own text explain about how these systems behave.[1][7]
Wind vanes and redstone power
The wind vane's swing speed depends on the redstone power it receives. The config comment gives the formula: pitch(time) = max_angle_1*sin(2pi*time*pow/period_1) + max_angle_2*sin(2pi*time*pow/period_2), where pow = max(1, redstone_power*power_scaling) and time is in ticks. So a stronger signal makes the vane swing faster.[7]
In this pack the values are the same as the mod defaults. blocks.wind_vane.max_angle_1 is 30, blocks.wind_vane.period_1 is 450, blocks.wind_vane.period_2 is 150 and blocks.wind_vane.power_scaling is 3. The comment says to keep period_2 at period_1/3 for a symmetric animation. It also says that raising the power scaling gives a more distinct indication when the weather changes.[7]
Rotating blocks
The advancements describe using a Wrench to rotate a block, and using a Turn Table to rotate yourself. The client option blocks.turn_table.turn_particles is on in the pack and shows particles when a block is rotated.[6][7]
Jars and cages
The option blocks.captured_mobs.tickable_inside_jars only affects visuals. It lists mobs that are ticked on the client while inside jars, which is mainly used for mobs with particles. In this pack the list is iceandfire:pixie, druidcraft:dreadfish, druidcraft:lunar_moth and alexsmobs:hummingbird. The config comment warns that it can cause issues and side effects. It also says that to allow more entities in cages you need to edit the respective tags, not this list.[7]
Altimeter
The Altimeter is called a depth meter in its config. With items.altimeter.click_action enabled, clicking it displays your current depth. The pack gives it unique textures for the Nether and the End through items.altimeter.extra_dimension_textures. The recipe is changed by the pack, so use this one:[5][7]

Display and message blocks
- Pedestal: displayed items spin in the pack (blocks.pedestal.spin) at a speed of 2 (blocks.pedestal.speed). Special display types for items like swords, tridents and end crystals are enabled through blocks.pedestal.fancy_renderers.[7]
- Item shelf: blocks.item_shelf.supported_blocks moves displayed 3D blocks down so they touch the shelf. They are then not vertically centered.[7]
- Notice board: displayed text is centered rather than left-aligned (blocks.notice_board.centered_text). The project page also says that putting a written book named "credits" in a Notice Board shows the mod's credits in-game.[1][7]
- Speaker block: blocks.speaker_block.mute_narrator is false in the pack. Setting it to true mutes incoming narrator messages and shows them in chat instead.[7]
Effects and enchantments
- Stasis lets Slingshot projectiles ignore gravity.[6]
- Lumisene Fire Aspect adds lumisene fire damage when you attack a mob. Lumisene Flame does the same for arrows fired from a bow.[6]
- Flammable increases on-fire duration and spreads fire as you walk.[6]
- Overencumbered prevents sprinting. Further levels reduce jump height and hinder walking speed respectively.[6]
How do you progress through Supplementaries?
3 parts
Supplementaries has no tier ladder that the sources here lay out. In the pack's quest book it shows up in the Flax String quest in the Food and Farming chapter, and in an unnamed wrench quest in the Industrial Foregoing chapter. Here is where each fits.[3][4]
Early game: flax and string
The Flax String quest unlocks after the Punch the Grass quest. Its task accepts Flax Seeds or flax seeds from several other mods, so you can hand in whichever you find first. The quest text says some of them let you grow string directly, while others give an alternative that works in recipes.[3]
The pack changed both recipes that involve Supplementaries flax. The Farming for Blockheads market has a recipe for Flax Seeds, and a Create milling recipe turns Flax into string and flax seeds.[5]
Flax is also the start of the decorative line. The pack's Awning recipe uses it, and every dyed Awning is made from that base Awning plus a dye.[5]

Mid game: the Wrench
The unnamed quest a quest in "Industrial Foregoing" in the Industrial Foregoing chapter comes after the Industrial Foregoing quest. It lists wrenches that can rotate Industrial Foregoing machines, and the Wrench is one of the accepted items. The quest author tested mainly on the Laser Drill and says some wrenches might not work with other machines.[4]
The pack changed the Wrench's crafting recipe, so don't rely on the mod's default. This is the in-pack version:[5]
The pack's changed recipe for the Wrench.
Everything else
The pack changed the Altimeter recipe, shown below. The part of the recipe dump shown here also marks the Bomb, Cage, Bunting and Candle Holder recipes as changed, so check the in-pack recipe before you plan a build around any of them.[5]

How does Supplementaries work with other mods?
2 parts
Supplementaries ties into a few other mods in this pack, both through crafting and through quests. All the recipes below are changed by the pack, so they can differ from what you may remember from the mod on its own.[5]
Recipes that use other mods' items
The Planter has a pack-specific recipe built around Farmer's Delight's Rich Soil. The recipe block below shows exactly what goes into it.[5]
The Sack also leans on Farmer's Delight, since it needs Canvas.[5]
Gift blocks connect to Create. Both the Present and the Trapped Present have pack recipes that use Create's Cardboard, and the trapped one also involves a Tripwire Hook. The recipe blocks below show the exact layouts.[5]

Quest connections
In the Food and Farming chapter, the "Flax String" quest quest asks you to grow string. It accepts Flax Seeds, but also flax seeds from Immersive Engineering, Productive Farming, Silent Gear and Actually Additions. The quest text says some of these let you grow string directly, while others give you an alternative that works in recipes.[3]
In the Industrial Foregoing chapter, quest a quest in "Industrial Foregoing" is a list of wrenches that can rotate Industrial Foregoing machines. The Wrench is one of the valid tools, alongside wrenches or hammers from Ender IO, Immersive Engineering, Just Dire Things and PneumaticCraft.[4]
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Supplementaries?
2 parts
Supplementaries appears in the Food and Farming chapter and the Industrial Foregoing chapter of the quest book. In both, it is one of several mods whose item counts toward the task, so you are never forced to use it.[3][4]
Food and Farming
"Flax String" quest unlocks after the quest "Punch the Grass". The quest text pitches it as growing your own string, so you don't need spiders. The task takes any one of several flax seeds, including Flax Seeds. It also accepts seeds from Immersive Engineering, Productive Farming, Silent Gear and Actually Additions.[3]
The quest text says some of these seeds let you grow string directly, while others give you an alternative that works in recipes.[3]
Industrial Foregoing
a quest in "Industrial Foregoing" is an untitled quest that comes after the chapter's "Industrial Foregoing" quest. The quest text explains that most wrenches can't rotate Industrial Foregoing machines, so it collects the wrenches that can. The Wrench is one of them.[4]
The task accepts any one of these: the Supplementaries wrench, a wrench from Ender IO, Just Dire Things or PneumaticCraft, or the Immersive Engineering hammer.[4]
Which Supplementaries config options matter?
5 parts
Supplementaries is very configurable, and the pack's config files list the mod default next to most values. Every option below that carries a default label is set exactly to that default, so the files show no confirmed pack changes for these options.[1][7][8]
Jars and cages
- functional.jar.capacity is 12, the mod default. Jars can capture small mobs (functional.jar.jar_capture is on) and hold liquids and cookies.[8]
- functional.jar.drink_from_jar and functional.jar.drink_from_jar_item are both false, so you can't instantly eat or drink straight from a jar.[8]
- functional.cage.require_taming is true, so tameable mobs can only be captured once tamed. functional.cage.allow_all_mobs is false, and the file describes it as not meant for survival.[8]
Cannons and bombs
- functional.cannon.cooldown is 60, functional.cannon.fuse_time is 40 and functional.cannon.fire_power is 0.6. Each of these is the mod default.[8]
- functional.cannon.explode_tnt is set to IGNITE.[8]
- Bombs have an explosion radius of 2 (tools.bomb.explosion_radius) and break blocks in WEAK mode. Blue bombs have a radius of 5.15 (tools.bomb.blue_bomb.explosion_radius). Both radii are mod defaults.[8]
Gadgets and redstone
- Sacks have 9 slots (functional.sack.slots). The slowness penalty is on (functional.sack.sack_penalty) and kicks in past 2 sacks (functional.sack.sack_increment).[8]
- The bubble blower holds up to 200 charges (tools.bubble_blower.bubble_block.max_charges). Bubble blocks last 1,200 (tools.bubble_blower.bubble_block.lifetime) and each one costs 5 soap (tools.bubble_blower.stasis_cost).[8]
- The flute is bound by default: tools.flute.unbound is false, and a bound flute works up to a distance of 64 (tools.flute.bound_distance).[8]
- The spring launcher fires at a velocity of 1.5 (redstone.spring_launcher.velocity) and needs a fall of 5 for the automatic launch (redstone.spring_launcher.fall_height_required).[8]
Lists with other mods' blocks and mobs
The soap blacklist (functional.soap.clean_blacklist) names blocks from other mods that soap can't clean, including Botania flowers and mushrooms, some xycraft_world RGB blocks and morered:network_cable.[8]
blocks.captured_mobs.tickable_inside_jars lists iceandfire:pixie, druidcraft:dreadfish, druidcraft:lunar_moth and alexsmobs:hummingbird. It only affects visuals, and the file warns that letting more mobs into cages needs tag edits instead.[7]
Client options you may want to change
- items.quiver.render_mode is THIGH, and the choices are HIDDEN, BACK, HIP and THIGH.[7]
- blocks.flag.fanciness is set to FABULOUS. blocks.flag.render_as_banner is false.[7]
- general.no_amendments_screen and general.no_incompatible_mods_screen are true, so those warning screens are disabled. general.config_button is false.[7]
- tweaks.tooltip_image_size is 80, the mod default, for sherd, blackboard, banner pattern and painting previews.[7]
What changed in Supplementaries between versions?
Your pack, All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4, ships Supplementaries 1.21.1-3.6.7. It has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier.[2]
The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, so everything below comes from the mod's own changelogs, newest first. They are short, and some give very little detail.[9][10][11][12][13][14]
- 1.21.1-3.6.7 (the version in your pack): fixed a loot table. The changelog doesn't say which one.[2][9]
- 1.21-3.5.24: general fixes, with no details given.[10]
- 1.21-3.5.17: fixed the multishot slingshot consuming just 1 projectile. Rope arrows shot from multishot crossbows can now be shot more than 1, and they still consume all the projectiles.[11]
- 1.21-3.5.14: fixed an issue with the red merchant.[12]
- 1.21-3.4.20: many small internal improvements and miscellaneous fixes.[13]
- 1.21-3.4.4: added back a missing class for compatibility with Snowy Spirit.[14]
