What is Farmer's Delight?
2 parts
Farmer's Delight gently expands farming and cooking. You use a simple cooking system and a few familiar ingredients to prepare hearty meals, from sandwiches and salads to stews and desserts.[1]
Beyond the food, the mod adds a few other things to your adventure:[1]
- A way to improve the very soil your crops grow in.[1]
- New tools and weapons to hunt and gather with.[1]
- Cute decorations for your builds, plus many other blocks and items.[1]
Version in this pack
This pack ships Farmer's Delight 1.2.8 (file FarmersDelight-1.21.1-1.2.8.jar). It has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier.[2]
Quest book placement
Unverified Where this pack's quest book places the mod (its chapter, group, and whether the ATM Star path uses it) is not shown in the sources here. The quest book itself is where to check.
How do you get started with Farmer's Delight?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.0 guide
Welcome to the kitchen! Farmer's Delight is built around a simple cooking system, and its advancements explain most of the basics. Pick up any item, then press the L key (by default) to open the Advancements screen and follow along. Here's the order I'd make things in this pack.[1]
Your first crafts, in order
- Make a Flint Knife first. Knives are lightweight melee weapons with fast swings and gentle damage. They harvest Straw from grasses and guarantee secondary drops from animals. There is also an advancement for crafting a knife.[3][4]
- Craft a Cutting Board next. With a tool in hand, you use it to break an item down.[3][4]
- Craft a Skillet. It lets you cook on the go: stand near heat, then hold the food in your other hand. You can also sneak to place it down as a block.[3][4]
- Make a Stove. The pack's recipe is shown below.[4]
- Finish with the Cooking Pot. Place it down and you can start preparing meals.[3][4]
Your first tool, and the one the knife advancement asks for.

Straw and canvas
Harvest grass, wheat or rice with a knife to collect Straw. Straw is a dry plant fiber used in crafting, and it is what you need to make Canvas. Canvas then goes into recipes like the farmersdelight:basket and the Canvas Sign.[3][4]
Straw is the ingredient to look for here.
Finding ingredients
Several crops can be found growing wild, and one may also turn up in a chest. Here is where to look:[3]
- Tomatoes grow wild in arid lands, such as savannas and deserts.[3]
- Onions and carrots grow wild in temperate lands, such as plains and forests.[3]
- Potatoes grow wild in cold lands, such as mountains and taigas.[3]
- Cabbages and beetroots grow wild on beach coasts.[3]
- Rice grows wild in the ponds of wet lands, such as swamps and jungles. You can plant rice grains in a shallow water puddle.[3]
Once you have crops, a Skillet and a Cooking Pot, you can start on the meals. Follow the advancements for the next steps, like campfire cooking and Rich Soil upgrades for your farms.[1][3]
How does Farmer's Delight work?
5 parts
Farmer's Delight is a cozy cooking and farming expansion, so don't expect power, fluids or multiblock machines here. The sources I have don't describe any. The mod's systems are hands-on: a cooking pot, a cutting board, tools, soil upgrades and a few food effects. Here's how they fit together.[1]
Cooking and prep stations
The Cooking Pot is the heart of the mod. Place it down and you can start preparing meals, and its tooltip shows how many servings of a dish it holds. Here's the in-pack recipe:[6]

The Cutting Board is your prep station. Hold a tool in your hand and use the board to break an item down.[6]

For cooking on the go, use the Skillet. Sneak to place it down as a block, or stand near heat and hold food in your other hand to cook with it. A plain Campfire also cooks food.[6]
Some meals are big enough to be placed down as a feast and shared with friends.[6]
The Knife
The Knife is a lightweight melee weapon with fast swings and gentle damage. It harvests Straw from grasses and guarantees secondary drops from animals. You can also use it to extract Ham from Pigs or Hoglins. Upgrading it to Netherite costs a whole Netherite Ingot. The Backstabbing enchantment amplifies damage when you strike a target from behind.[6]
Straw feeds straight into building materials. Here's how Canvas is made, and how the Basket uses it:[6][7]
Soil and farming
Organic Compost slowly decays into Rich Soil, an upgrade for your farms. It composts better with sun, water and mushrooms. In the recipe viewer, decomposition is sped up by adjacent water and by adjacent activators.[6]
Rich Soil matters for Mushroom Colonies. You need it to grow them, and a fully mature colony can be sheared. Other crops have placement rules too. Rice is planted in a shallow water puddle, and hanging rope above a tomato crop makes it grow taller.[6]
Wild crops spawn by climate, which tells you where to look for seeds:[6]
- Beetroot and Cabbage: beach coasts.[6]
- Carrots and Onions: temperate lands such as plains and forests.[6]
- Potatoes: cold lands such as mountains and taigas.[6]
- Rice: ponds in wet lands such as swamps and jungles.[6]
- Tomatoes: arid lands such as savannas and deserts.[6]
Food effects
Meals can give you the Comfort and Nourishment effects. Comfort provides natural regeneration regardless of how hungry you are. Nourishment prevents hunger loss, except when saturation is used to heal damage. Warm bowl meals keep you healing steadily, and plated meals keep you from getting exhausted or hungry for a while.[6]
Crates and storage
Crops can be packed into crates and unpacked again. Cabbage goes both ways:[7]
The pack has changed the recipes for the Beetroot Crate and Carrot Crate. Use these in-pack versions, not the mod's defaults.[7]

Unverified The sources here don't show the cooking pot's heat requirements, slot layout, cook times or automation behavior, and no config files for this mod are in the pack. The quest chapters and the in-game advancements are where to look for more.
How do you progress through Farmer's Delight?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.0 guide
Farmer's Delight is a food and cooking mod, and in this pack the quest book only touches it once. That makes progression pretty relaxed: you pick up the basic kitchen tools, then work through the recipes at your own pace.[5]
The kitchen starter quest
The one Farmer's Delight quest I can confirm sits in the Food and Farming chapter and has no title: a quest in "?". It is an item task that accepts any one of these: Cooking Pot, Stove, Cutting Board, Skillet, or the Cooking for Blockheads cutting board. You only need one of them to tick it off.[5]
Any one of those items completes the quest, so you can start with whichever you like. The recipes for them are shown below.[4][5]

Knives
Knives come in several materials: Flint Knife, Iron Knife, Golden Knife and Diamond Knife. The pack changes the recipes for the golden and diamond knives, so don't rely on any recipe you remember from the base mod. The blocks below show the exact in-pack versions.[4]

Other pack changes
The pack also changes the recipes for the Carrot Crate and the Beetroot Crate. If you store crops in crates, check these recipes in the recipe viewer rather than assuming the mod defaults.[4]

How does Farmer's Delight work with other mods?
4 parts
Farmer's Delight links up with several other mods in this pack through recipes. Every connection below is marked as changed by the pack, so don't assume it matches the mod's defaults.[7]
Create
You can get Pie Crust from Wheat Flour with a Create mixing recipe that the pack changed.[7]

Immersive Engineering
Immersive Engineering's squeezer has pack-changed recipes for Farmer's Delight crops. One involves Cabbage Seeds together with Plant Oil, and another involves Tomato Seeds together with Plant Oil.[7]
Silent Gear
Silent Gear's Netherwood can be processed with Farmer's Delight's cutting recipe type. The pack-changed recipe gives you Tree Bark and a Stripped Netherwood Log.[7]

The Planter from Supplementaries has a pack-changed shaped crafting recipe that uses Rich Soil from Farmer's Delight. Here is the recipe as it works in this pack:[7]
Which Farmer's Delight config options matter?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 1.17a guide
The Farmer's Delight project page says modpack makers are free to customize the mod as they see fit. That means a pack can change config values or recipes compared with the mod's defaults.[1]
Unverified No config files for Farmer's Delight were available for this pack, so I can't confirm any option names or values, or which ones the pack changed from the mod defaults. To avoid showing you a mod default as if it were the pack's setting, I'm leaving specific options out of this section.
What changed in Farmer's Delight between versions?
2 parts
All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.0.2 ships Farmer's Delight 1.2.8 (the 1.21.1 build). The mod has been in the pack since version 1.0 or earlier, so this is the version you are playing with. Here is what the 1.2.8 update brought.[2]
What changed in 1.2.8
- Simpler dough: Wheat can now be crafted with a Water Bucket to make Wheat Dough, and the bucket's water is not used up, so you can make dough indefinitely. The egg recipe is still there so auto-crafting setups don't break.[8]
- New item tags: #meals (bowl and plate foods the mod counts as a meal, excluding Fruit Salad and Nether Salad), #drinks (drinkable items that are not potions) and #feasts (the full feasts, whose portions sit in #meals).[8]
- Water buckets everywhere in the mod now use a common tag. On 1.21.1 that is c:buckets/water.[8]
- Knives were added to the breaks_decorated_pots tag, and the Master Chef advancement now includes additional meals.[8]
- Cooking Pot: if the recipe becomes invalid mid-cooking, the pot now always cools down instead of losing all cooking progress in some circumstances.[8]
- Create integration: the create:upright_on_belt integration now covers all bowl, plate and bottle items, Create's Potato Cannon integration was fixed, and the Create integration was updated to the newest syntax on 1.21.1.[8]
Fixes in 1.2.8
- Jack-O-Lanterns can be mined with a Knife again, and Knives with Silk Touch no longer slice Pumpkin blocks.[8]
- Budding bushes like the Tomato no longer have their planting rules hardcoded to vanilla farmland.[8]
- Rich Soil no longer negates fall damage (1.21.1), and turnToDirt no longer converts it into normal dirt.[8]
- On 1.21.1, Baskets and Cabinets now have an item handler capability, so other mods can interact with their inventories.[8]
- Other 1.21.1 fixes: storage_blocks tags are nested in their parent, FD recipe IDs show in JEI debug info, Immersive Engineering integration recipes work, the Tall-mato advancement works properly, and HUD overlays no longer render on top of AppleSkin overlays.[8]
Unverified No pack changelog entries for Farmer's Delight were available, so any changes made to it between pack releases are unverified.
