What is Farmer's Delight?
1 part
Farmer's Delight is a cozy expansion to farming and cooking. With a simple cooking system and some familiar ingredients, you can prepare a wide variety of hearty meals, from sandwiches and salads to stews and desserts.[1]
It also adds a way to improve the soil your crops grow in, new tools and weapons for hunting and gathering, and decorations for your builds. If you like building a proper kitchen and farming a little bit of everything, this mod is for you.[1]
This pack includes Farmer's Delight 1.3.4, built for Minecraft 1.21.1.[2]
Where it fits in the pack
The mod has an entry in the Food and Farming quest chapter. The quest a quest in "Food and Farming" is untitled and completes when you obtain any one of these: the Cooking Pot, the Stove, the Cutting Board, the Skillet, or the Cutting Board from Cooking for Blockheads. Any of them will do, so pick whichever fits your kitchen first.[3]
How do you get started with Farmer's Delight?
5 parts
Farmer's Delight adds a cozy cooking and farming system to the pack. The mod's own advice is to follow its Advancements: pick up any item, then press L (the default key) to open the Advancements screen. They explain most of the basics, and the order below loosely follows them.[1]
The pack's Food and Farming quest chapter has a quest, a quest in "Food and Farming", that is completed by having a Cooking Pot, a Stove, a Cutting Board or a Skillet. That means you can start with whichever one you like.[3]
Cutting Board
Start with the Cutting Board. It counts for the Food and Farming quest, and its advancement says that with a tool in hand you use it to break an item down. The mod also has a setting that lets each level of Fortune raise your odds of rare results on the board.[3][4]

A Knife
Next, craft a Knife. The advancement for it says a Knife lets you scavenge extra goods from plants and animals. Harvesting grass, wheat or rice with one collects Straw, and using one on Pigs or Hoglins gets you ham.[4]
The Iron Knife is unchanged from the mod. The pack changes the Diamond Knife and the Golden Knife, so check the blocks below rather than what you remember from the base mod.[5]

Skillet
The Skillet lets you cook on the go: stand near heat, then hold the food in your other hand. You can also sneak to place it down as a block.[4]
Cooking Pot
The Cooking Pot is where you start preparing proper meals. Its advancement tells you to put one down and start preparing meals.[4]

Stove
The Stove is the last item the Food and Farming quest accepts, so crafting one rounds out the set once your kitchen is up and running.[3]
How does Farmer's Delight work?
6 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
This section covers the mod's cooking station, its cutting station, the handheld tools and the soil upgrade, as far as the sources explain them.[6]
The Cooking Pot
The Cooking Pot is where you prepare meals. One of the mod's advancements asks you to put one down and start preparing meals. If the matching option is enabled, its interface provides a Recipe Book like the one on Crafting Tables and Furnaces.[6]
Crafting Shaped

A pot's tooltip reads "Holds %s servings of:" followed by the dish. Some meals are big enough to be placed down and shared with friends, which is what the "place feast" advancement is about.[6]
The mod's meals stack to 16. One option can give vanilla soups and stews the same stacking, and another option can make vanilla soups and stews grant Nourishment when eaten.[6]
The Cutting Board
Put a Cutting Board down, then use it with a tool in hand to break an item down.[6]

A few options affect it. When the dispenser option is enabled, a Dispenser can operate a Cutting Board in front of itself, using stored items as cutting tools. Another option sets how much each level of Fortune increases the odds of rare results on the board, and 0.0 disables the bonus.[6]
Knives, Straw and Skillets
The Knife is a lightweight melee weapon with fast swings and gentle damage. The in-game description says it can harvest Straw from grasses and guarantee secondary drops from animals. It is also the tool for extracting Ham from Pigs or Hoglins, and you can upgrade a Knife by spending a whole Netherite Ingot.[6]
Straw is used to craft Canvas. Canvas is then used for things like the Canvas Rug, the Canvas Sign and the Bamboo Basket.[6][7]
The Skillet lets you cook on the go: stand near heat and hold the food in your other hand. Sneak to place the Skillet down as a block. A Campfire is another way to cook food.[6]
Dough works a little differently from what you might expect. Wheat can be turned into Dough by crafting it with a Water Bucket, and the bucket's water isn't depleted.[6]
Soil, Compost and Crops
Organic Compost slowly decays into Rich Soil, an upgrade for your farms. It composts better with sun, water and mushrooms. The recipe viewer lists the decomposition as sped up by adjacent water and by adjacent activators.[6]
An option sets the chance that Rich Soil gives a bone meal boost to a crop planted on it, and 0.0 disables it. Shearing a fully mature Mushroom Colony needs a very rich soil to grow them that way.[6]
Rice is planted in a shallow water puddle. Hanging rope above a tomato crop makes it grow taller. If the matching option is enabled, you can reel rope back from bottom to top by sneak-using on it with an empty hand.[6]
Another option lets tomato crops climb any rope tagged as farmersdelight:ropes, and the mod warns that enabling it converts those blocks into the block set as the default tomato vine rope.[6]
Storage Crates
An option makes storage crates (3x3) for vanilla crops craftable. In this pack, the Carrot Crate and Beetroot Crate recipes are changed from the mod's versions, so use the recipes below.[6][7]
This recipe is changed by the pack.

This recipe is changed by the pack.
The Cabbage Crate recipe is the mod's own, and a separate recipe turns the crate back into Cabbage.[7]
Food Effects
Comfort provides natural regeneration, regardless of how hungry you are. Nourishment prevents the food meter from decreasing, except when healing with saturation.[6]
Unverified Which of the options above are enabled in this pack is set in the mod's config files, and the sources here do not show those files.
How do you progress through Farmer's Delight?
3 parts
In this pack's quest book, Farmer's Delight shows up in the Food and Farming chapter through the quest a quest in "Food and Farming". It has no title, and its task accepts any of the kitchen basics: Cooking Pot, Stove, Cutting Board, Skillet, or a cutting board from another mod.[3]
The quest's task lists those items as alternatives, so you can make whichever one you want first.[3]

How does Farmer's Delight work with other mods?
5 parts
Farmer's Delight doesn't live on its own in this pack. A handful of recipes tie it to Create, Immersive Engineering, Silent Gear and Supplementaries, and the pack changed each of them from its default. Here's what the pack data shows.[5]
Create: Pie Crust by mixing
You can make Pie Crust with Create mixing, using Wheat Flour and any milk. It's a pack-changed recipe, so it's a way to get your pastry base from Create's machines.[5]

Immersive Engineering: squeezing seeds

Cut Netherwood on a Cutting Board and you get Tree Bark plus a Stripped Netherwood Log. This is a pack-changed Farmer's Delight cutting recipe.[5]

Supplementaries: Planter and Sack
Supplementaries has recipes that use Farmer's Delight items. The Planter recipe uses Rich Soil, and the Sack recipe uses Canvas. Both are pack-changed crafting recipes.[5]
Quest tie-in
In the Food and Farming chapter, the quest a quest in "Food and Farming" accepts any one of several kitchen items: Cooking Pot, Stove, Cutting Board, Skillet, or Cutting Board. So a cutting board from either mod counts for it.[3]
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Farmer's Delight?
Farmer's Delight shows up in one quest chapter in this pack: Food and Farming. The only quest I can confirm there is a quest in "Food and Farming", and it has no title in the pack files.[3]
It is an item-pick task, so you only need to get hold of one of the accepted items to complete it. Any of these works:[3]
- Cooking Pot[3]
- Stove[3]
- Cutting Board[3]
- Skillet[3]
- Cutting Board, the cutting board from Cooking for Blockheads, which this quest also accepts[3]
Unverified The sources don't say where this quest sits in the Food and Farming chapter, what it unlocks, or whether it has a reward. Check the in-game quest book for the exact order.
Which Farmer's Delight config options matter?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 1.17a guide
The Farmer's Delight project page says modpack makers are free to customize the mod as they see fit. That means a pack can change config values or recipes compared with the mod's defaults.[1]
Unverified No config files for Farmer's Delight were available for this pack, so I can't confirm any option names or values, or which ones the pack changed from the mod defaults. To avoid showing you a mod default as if it were the pack's setting, I'm leaving specific options out of this section.
What changed in Farmer's Delight between versions?
5 parts
This pack ships Farmer's Delight 1.3.4 in its 1.21.1 build, and it has been in the pack since version 1.0 or earlier. Below are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs, newest first, so you can see what has changed in the versions I have notes for. I have no pack changelog entries for this mod, so nothing here describes pack-specific changes.[2]
1.3.4 (the version in this pack)
- Fixed a broken behavior when pushing Feasts with Pistons.[8]
- On 1.21.1 and later, fixed the chest loot config option not properly disabling Farmer's Delight's extra chest loot generation.[8]
1.2.11
- On 1.21 and later, the tag farmersdelight:feasts is now added to c:edible_when_placed, and Ropes are tagged under c:ropes.[9]
- Statistics are now awarded for using tools on the Cutting Board, using Knives to cut cakes and pies, and using containers to take servings from feasts.[9]
- Canvas Rug and Tatami Mats now have their own stepping sounds.[9]
- On 1.21 and later, Mushroom Colonies no longer float without support when under a light level of 13.[9]
1.2.10
- Villagers can now consume Farmer's Delight crops to become willing to breed.[10]
- On 1.21 and later, new tags farmersdelight:snacks and farmersdelight:sweets were added, and all the mod's foods were properly tagged inside c:foods.[10]
- c:foods/milk is being phased out in favor of c:drinks/milk. All the mod's recipes now use c:drinks/milk, and the old tag stays for backwards compatibility until the next minor release.[10]
- Fixed non-contained meals (for example Dumplings) being deleted when sitting on the meal slot and using the same meal on the pot to serve it.[10]
- Fixed the food effect tooltip config not affecting vanilla foods that have Farmer's Delight effect overrides.[10]
1.2.9
- Rich Soil Farmland can now be hydrated by any fluid type capable of hydration.[11]
- Wild Cabbage and Sea Beet can now generate on any biome tagged with minecraft:is_beach.[11]
- On 1.21 and later, fixed the Cooking Pot allowing players to cook and store up to 99 servings.[11]
- On 1.21 and later, fixed Rabbit Stew not returning bowls after being eaten.[11]
- As a temporary fix for a crash, the Cooking Pot can no longer be opened in spectator mode.[11]
1.2.8
- New item tags #meals, #drinks and #feasts group the mod's meals, drinkable items and full-size feasts.[12]
- Wheat Dough got a simpler, less cumbersome recipe that uses a Water Bucket as a technology gate, and the bucket's water isn't depleted. The egg recipe is still present so auto-crafting setups don't break.[12]
- Knives were added to the breaks_decorated_pots tag.[12]
- The Cooking Pot now always cools down when a recipe becomes invalid mid-cooking, instead of losing all progress in some circumstances.[12]
- Fixed Knives with Silk Touch slicing Pumpkin blocks, and fixed Jack-O-Lantern not being mineable with a Knife.[12]
- On 1.21.1, fixed Baskets and Cabinets not having an item handler capability, and fixed Rich Soil negating fall damage.[12]
