What is Farmer's Delight?
1 part
Farmer's Delight is a cozy expansion to farming and cooking. With a simple cooking system and familiar ingredients, you prepare a wide variety of hearty meals, from sandwiches and salads to stews and desserts.[1]
It also adds a way to improve the soil your crops grow in, new tools and weapons for hunting and gathering, and decorations for your builds.[1]
This pack uses Farmer's Delight 1.2.8, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been in the pack since version 1.0 or earlier.[2]
Where it sits in the quest book
The pack's quest book gives the mod its own quest, "Farmer's Delight" quest, in the "Building Tips!" quest chapter, which has 67 quests. The chapter starts with "Building Tips!" quest, which leads to "Decoration!" quest, which leads to "Decor Mods!" quest. The Farmer's Delight quest comes right after that last one.[3]
It sits beside three other mod quests that also follow "Decor Mods!" quest: "Cooking for Blockheads" quest, "Handcrafted" quest and "Macaw's Mods" quest.[3]
The quest book pitches the mod as farming and cooking, with the same items reusable for decoration. It names these:[3]
- The Stove, Pots and Pans, which it calls perfect for a kitchen.[3]
- The Food Barrels, which it calls great for a pantry.[3]
- The farm items, which it suggests for outdoor decor.[3]
- The Cabinets, which it says are perfect anywhere.[3]
Part of this chapter is not shown to me, so whether any quest follows the Farmer's Delight one is told in the quest book itself.[3]
How do you get started with Farmer's Delight?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.0 guide
Welcome to the kitchen! Farmer's Delight is built around a simple cooking system, and its advancements explain most of the basics. Pick up any item, then press the L key (by default) to open the Advancements screen and follow along. Here's the order I'd make things in this pack.[1]
Your first crafts, in order
- Make a Flint Knife first. Knives are lightweight melee weapons with fast swings and gentle damage. They harvest Straw from grasses and guarantee secondary drops from animals. There is also an advancement for crafting a knife.[4][5]
- Craft a Cutting Board next. With a tool in hand, you use it to break an item down.[4][5]
- Craft a Skillet. It lets you cook on the go: stand near heat, then hold the food in your other hand. You can also sneak to place it down as a block.[4][5]
- Make a Stove. The pack's recipe is shown below.[5]
- Finish with the Cooking Pot. Place it down and you can start preparing meals.[4][5]
Your first tool, and the one the knife advancement asks for.

Straw and canvas
Harvest grass, wheat or rice with a knife to collect Straw. Straw is a dry plant fiber used in crafting, and it is what you need to make Canvas. Canvas then goes into recipes like the farmersdelight:basket and the Canvas Sign.[4][5]
Straw is the ingredient to look for here.
Finding ingredients
Several crops can be found growing wild, and one may also turn up in a chest. Here is where to look:[4]
- Tomatoes grow wild in arid lands, such as savannas and deserts.[4]
- Onions and carrots grow wild in temperate lands, such as plains and forests.[4]
- Potatoes grow wild in cold lands, such as mountains and taigas.[4]
- Cabbages and beetroots grow wild on beach coasts.[4]
- Rice grows wild in the ponds of wet lands, such as swamps and jungles. You can plant rice grains in a shallow water puddle.[4]
Once you have crops, a Skillet and a Cooking Pot, you can start on the meals. Follow the advancements for the next steps, like campfire cooking and Rich Soil upgrades for your farms.[1][4]
How does Farmer's Delight work?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.0.2 guide
Farmer's Delight is a cozy cooking and farming expansion, so don't expect power, fluids or multiblock machines here. The sources I have don't describe any. The mod's systems are hands-on: a cooking pot, a cutting board, tools, soil upgrades and a few food effects. Here's how they fit together.[1]
Cooking and prep stations
The Cooking Pot is the heart of the mod. Place it down and you can start preparing meals, and its tooltip shows how many servings of a dish it holds. Here's the in-pack recipe:[7]

The Cutting Board is your prep station. Hold a tool in your hand and use the board to break an item down.[7]

Recipe id: farmersdelight:cutting_board
For cooking on the go, use the Skillet. Sneak to place it down as a block, or stand near heat and hold food in your other hand to cook with it. A plain Campfire also cooks food.[7]
Some meals are big enough to be placed down as a feast and shared with friends.[7]
The Knife
The Knife is a lightweight melee weapon with fast swings and gentle damage. It harvests Straw from grasses and guarantees secondary drops from animals. You can also use it to extract Ham from Pigs or Hoglins. Upgrading it to Netherite costs a whole Netherite Ingot. The Backstabbing enchantment amplifies damage when you strike a target from behind.[7]
Straw feeds straight into building materials. Here's how Canvas is made, and how the Basket uses it:[7][8]
Soil and farming
Organic Compost slowly decays into Rich Soil, an upgrade for your farms. It composts better with sun, water and mushrooms. In the recipe viewer, decomposition is sped up by adjacent water and by adjacent activators.[7]
Rich Soil matters for Mushroom Colonies. You need it to grow them, and a fully mature colony can be sheared. Other crops have placement rules too. Rice is planted in a shallow water puddle, and hanging rope above a tomato crop makes it grow taller.[7]
Wild crops spawn by climate, which tells you where to look for seeds:[7]
- Beetroot and Cabbage: beach coasts.[7]
- Carrots and Onions: temperate lands such as plains and forests.[7]
- Potatoes: cold lands such as mountains and taigas.[7]
- Rice: ponds in wet lands such as swamps and jungles.[7]
- Tomatoes: arid lands such as savannas and deserts.[7]
Food effects
Meals can give you the Comfort and Nourishment effects. Comfort provides natural regeneration regardless of how hungry you are. Nourishment prevents hunger loss, except when saturation is used to heal damage. Warm bowl meals keep you healing steadily, and plated meals keep you from getting exhausted or hungry for a while.[7]
Crates and storage
Crops can be packed into crates and unpacked again. Cabbage goes both ways:[8]
The pack has changed the recipes for the Beetroot Crate and Carrot Crate. Use these in-pack versions, not the mod's defaults.[8]

Unverified The sources here don't show the cooking pot's heat requirements, slot layout, cook times or automation behavior, and no config files for this mod are in the pack. The quest chapters and the in-game advancements are where to look for more.
How do you progress through Farmer's Delight?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.0 guide
Farmer's Delight is a food and cooking mod, and in this pack the quest book only touches it once. That makes progression pretty relaxed: you pick up the basic kitchen tools, then work through the recipes at your own pace.[6]
The kitchen starter quest
The one Farmer's Delight quest I can confirm sits in the Food and Farming chapter and has no title: a quest in "?". It is an item task that accepts any one of these: Cooking Pot, Stove, Cutting Board, Skillet, or the Cooking for Blockheads cutting board. You only need one of them to tick it off.[6]
Any one of those items completes the quest, so you can start with whichever you like. The recipes for them are shown below.[5][6]

Knives
Knives come in several materials: Flint Knife, Iron Knife, Golden Knife and Diamond Knife. The pack changes the recipes for the golden and diamond knives, so don't rely on any recipe you remember from the base mod. The blocks below show the exact in-pack versions.[5]

How does Farmer's Delight work with other mods?
4 parts
Farmer's Delight connects to several other mods in this pack through recipes. Every recipe below is marked as changed by the pack, so these are this pack's own versions and not mod defaults.[9]
Create: Pie Crust from mixing
Create's mixing recipe type can produce Pie Crust from Wheat Flour. Here is the recipe as it appears in the pack:[9]

Immersive Engineering: seeds and Plant Oil
The pack changes Immersive Engineering squeezer recipes that link Farmer's Delight seeds with Plant Oil. One involves Cabbage Seeds and the other involves Tomato Seeds.[9]

Supplementaries has a shaped crafting recipe for the Planter that makes use of Farmer's Delight's Rich Soil. Here is the recipe as it appears in the pack:[9]
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Farmer's Delight?
3 parts
Farmer's Delight has one quest in the pack, and it sits in the "Building Tips" chapter. The quest is "Farmer's Delight" quest. This chapter is about building and decorating, so the quest treats the mod as a decor mod as well as a farming and cooking one.[3]
The path to the quest
- Start with "Building Tips!" quest, the opening quest of the chapter.[3]
- Next comes "Decoration!" quest, which comes after the opening quest. It points out that modded Minecraft has far more decoration than just stairs.[3]
- Then "Decor Mods!" quest, which comes after Decoration!. It is the hub for mods the quest author picked for decorating a house or base.[3]
- Finally "Farmer's Delight" quest, which comes after Decor Mods!.[3]
What the quest covers
The quest text says Farmer's Delight is all about farming and cooking food items, and that you can use those same items for decoration too. It names the Stove, Pots and Pans as perfect for a kitchen, the Food Barrels as great for a pantry, the farm items as good outdoor decor, and the Cabinets as fitting anywhere.[3]
The quest is an item task, so you complete it by obtaining an item.[3]
Unverified Which specific Farmer's Delight item the quest asks for is not stated in the quest data I was given, so check the quest in your book.
Neighbouring quests
Several other quests also come after Decor Mods!, so you can do them in any order alongside Farmer's Delight: "Cooking for Blockheads" quest, "Handcrafted" quest, "Macaw's Mods" quest and "Macaw's Furniture" quest. The chapter data doesn't list any quest that comes after Farmer's Delight.[3]
Which Farmer's Delight config options matter?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 1.17a guide
The Farmer's Delight project page says modpack makers are free to customize the mod as they see fit. That means a pack can change config values or recipes compared with the mod's defaults.[1]
Unverified No config files for Farmer's Delight were available for this pack, so I can't confirm any option names or values, or which ones the pack changed from the mod defaults. To avoid showing you a mod default as if it were the pack's setting, I'm leaving specific options out of this section.
What changed in Farmer's Delight between versions?
3 parts
All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.1.2 ships Farmer's Delight 1.2.8 (the 1.21.1 build), and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier. So everything below is what you get in this pack right now. Items marked 1.21.1 in the mod changelog apply to you, and 1.20.1 notes don't.[2][10]
What 1.2.8 added
- New item tags: #meals groups bowl and plate foods the mod counts as a meal (Fruit Salad and Nether Salad are excluded), #drinks groups drinkable Farmer's Delight items that are not potions, and #feasts groups the full forms of feasts, whose portions sit in #meals.[10]
What 1.2.8 changed
- Wheat Dough has a simpler, less cumbersome crafting recipe. The bucket it uses acts as a simple technology gate and is not used up. The older egg recipe is still there so auto-crafting setups don't break.[10]
- Water bucket usage across the mod now goes through a common tag, which is c:buckets/water on 1.21.1.[10]
- Knives were added to the breaks_decorated_pots tag.[10]
- The Create integration with create:upright_on_belt now covers all bowl, plate and bottle items.[10]
- The Master Chef advancement includes more meals. They match the vanilla Farmer's Delight entries in the meals tag, but the advancement doesn't update when the tag does.[10]
- A Cooking Pot now always cools down when its recipe becomes invalid mid-cooking, instead of losing all cooking progress in some cases.[10]
Fixes that apply to 1.21.1
- Jack-O-Lanterns can be mined with a Knife again, and Knives with Silk Touch no longer slice Pumpkin blocks.[10]
- Create's Potato Cannon integration is fixed.[10]
- Budding bushes such as Tomato no longer have planting rules hardcoded to vanilla farmland.[10]
- Rich Soil no longer negates fall damage.[10]
- Baskets and Cabinets now have an item handler capability.[10]
- Create integration was updated to the newest syntax, and the Immersive Engineering integration recipes were fixed.[10]
- The storage_blocks tags are now nested in their parent tag.[10]
- Farmer's Delight recipe IDs now show in the debug info on JEI screens.[10]
- The Tall-mato advancement works properly now.[10]
- HUD overlays no longer render on top of AppleSkin overlays.[10]
The release also updated the es_es, zh_cn and zh_tw translations.[10]
Unverified Pack changelog entries for Farmer's Delight were not available, so changes made by the pack itself across its releases are unverified.
