What is Farmer's Delight?
1 part
Farmer's Delight is a cozy expansion to farming and cooking. With a simple cooking system and familiar ingredients, you prepare a wide variety of hearty meals, from sandwiches and salads to stews and desserts. It also adds ways to improve the soil your crops grow in, new tools and weapons for hunting and gathering, and decorations for your builds.[1]
This pack includes version 1.2.9 of the mod, and it has been here since 1.0 or earlier.[2]
Where it fits in the pack
The mod appears in the Food and Farming quest chapter. The quest a quest in "Food and Farming" is completed by getting any one of these kitchen basics: the Cooking Pot, the Stove, the Cutting Board or the Skillet. A cutting board from another mod, Cutting Board, also counts.[3]
How do you get started with Farmer's Delight?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.0 guide
Welcome to the kitchen! Farmer's Delight is built around a simple cooking system, and its advancements explain most of the basics. Pick up any item, then press the L key (by default) to open the Advancements screen and follow along. Here's the order I'd make things in this pack.[1]
Your first crafts, in order
- Make a Flint Knife first. Knives are lightweight melee weapons with fast swings and gentle damage. They harvest Straw from grasses and guarantee secondary drops from animals. There is also an advancement for crafting a knife.[4][5]
- Craft a Cutting Board next. With a tool in hand, you use it to break an item down.[4][5]
- Craft a Skillet. It lets you cook on the go: stand near heat, then hold the food in your other hand. You can also sneak to place it down as a block.[4][5]
- Make a Stove. The pack's recipe is shown below.[5]
- Finish with the Cooking Pot. Place it down and you can start preparing meals.[4][5]
Your first tool, and the one the knife advancement asks for.

Straw and canvas
Harvest grass, wheat or rice with a knife to collect Straw. Straw is a dry plant fiber used in crafting, and it is what you need to make Canvas. Canvas then goes into recipes like the farmersdelight:basket and the Canvas Sign.[4][5]
Straw is the ingredient to look for here.
Finding ingredients
Several crops can be found growing wild, and one may also turn up in a chest. Here is where to look:[4]
- Tomatoes grow wild in arid lands, such as savannas and deserts.[4]
- Onions and carrots grow wild in temperate lands, such as plains and forests.[4]
- Potatoes grow wild in cold lands, such as mountains and taigas.[4]
- Cabbages and beetroots grow wild on beach coasts.[4]
- Rice grows wild in the ponds of wet lands, such as swamps and jungles. You can plant rice grains in a shallow water puddle.[4]
Once you have crops, a Skillet and a Cooking Pot, you can start on the meals. Follow the advancements for the next steps, like campfire cooking and Rich Soil upgrades for your farms.[1][4]
How does Farmer's Delight work?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.0.2 guide
Farmer's Delight is a cozy cooking and farming expansion, so don't expect power, fluids or multiblock machines here. The sources I have don't describe any. The mod's systems are hands-on: a cooking pot, a cutting board, tools, soil upgrades and a few food effects. Here's how they fit together.[1]
Cooking and prep stations
The Cooking Pot is the heart of the mod. Place it down and you can start preparing meals, and its tooltip shows how many servings of a dish it holds. Here's the in-pack recipe:[7]

The Cutting Board is your prep station. Hold a tool in your hand and use the board to break an item down.[7]

Recipe id: farmersdelight:cutting_board
For cooking on the go, use the Skillet. Sneak to place it down as a block, or stand near heat and hold food in your other hand to cook with it. A plain Campfire also cooks food.[7]
Some meals are big enough to be placed down as a feast and shared with friends.[7]
The Knife
The Knife is a lightweight melee weapon with fast swings and gentle damage. It harvests Straw from grasses and guarantees secondary drops from animals. You can also use it to extract Ham from Pigs or Hoglins. Upgrading it to Netherite costs a whole Netherite Ingot. The Backstabbing enchantment amplifies damage when you strike a target from behind.[7]
Straw feeds straight into building materials. Here's how Canvas is made, and how the Basket uses it:[7][8]
Soil and farming
Organic Compost slowly decays into Rich Soil, an upgrade for your farms. It composts better with sun, water and mushrooms. In the recipe viewer, decomposition is sped up by adjacent water and by adjacent activators.[7]
Rich Soil matters for Mushroom Colonies. You need it to grow them, and a fully mature colony can be sheared. Other crops have placement rules too. Rice is planted in a shallow water puddle, and hanging rope above a tomato crop makes it grow taller.[7]
Wild crops spawn by climate, which tells you where to look for seeds:[7]
- Beetroot and Cabbage: beach coasts.[7]
- Carrots and Onions: temperate lands such as plains and forests.[7]
- Potatoes: cold lands such as mountains and taigas.[7]
- Rice: ponds in wet lands such as swamps and jungles.[7]
- Tomatoes: arid lands such as savannas and deserts.[7]
Food effects
Meals can give you the Comfort and Nourishment effects. Comfort provides natural regeneration regardless of how hungry you are. Nourishment prevents hunger loss, except when saturation is used to heal damage. Warm bowl meals keep you healing steadily, and plated meals keep you from getting exhausted or hungry for a while.[7]
Crates and storage
Crops can be packed into crates and unpacked again. Cabbage goes both ways:[8]
The pack has changed the recipes for the Beetroot Crate and Carrot Crate. Use these in-pack versions, not the mod's defaults.[8]

Unverified The sources here don't show the cooking pot's heat requirements, slot layout, cook times or automation behavior, and no config files for this mod are in the pack. The quest chapters and the in-game advancements are where to look for more.
How do you progress through Farmer's Delight?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.0 guide
Farmer's Delight is a food and cooking mod, and in this pack the quest book only touches it once. That makes progression pretty relaxed: you pick up the basic kitchen tools, then work through the recipes at your own pace.[6]
The kitchen starter quest
The one Farmer's Delight quest I can confirm sits in the Food and Farming chapter and has no title: a quest in "Food and Farming". It is an item task that accepts any one of these: Cooking Pot, Stove, Cutting Board, Skillet, or the Cooking for Blockheads cutting board. You only need one of them to tick it off.[6]
Any one of those items completes the quest, so you can start with whichever you like. The recipes for them are shown below.[5][6]

Knives
Knives come in several materials: Flint Knife, Iron Knife, Golden Knife and Diamond Knife. The pack changes the recipes for the golden and diamond knives, so don't rely on any recipe you remember from the base mod. The blocks below show the exact in-pack versions.[5]

Other pack changes
The pack also changes the recipes for the Carrot Crate and the Beetroot Crate. If you store crops in crates, check these recipes in the recipe viewer rather than assuming the mod defaults.[5]

How does Farmer's Delight work with other mods?
5 parts
Farmer's Delight connects to other mods in this pack through a handful of recipes and a quest. The recipes involve Create, Immersive Engineering, Silent Gear and Supplementaries, and the quest also mentions Cooking for Blockheads. Every recipe below is marked as changed by the pack, so these are the pack's versions, not the mod's defaults.[3][9]
Create: Pie Crust from Wheat Flour
Create's mixing recipe type turns Wheat Flour into a Pie Crust.[9]
Mixing (create)
Recipe id: farmersdelight:integration/create/mixing/pie_crust_from_mixing
Immersive Engineering: seeds and Plant Oil
Immersive Engineering's squeezer has pack-adjusted recipes that list Cabbage Seeds and Tomato Seeds together with Plant Oil. The recipe data for them does not show an output, so check the recipes in game to see exactly what comes out.[9]
Squeezer (immersiveengineering)

Recipe id: farmersdelight:integration/immersiveengineering/squeezer/tomato_seeds
Silent Gear: Netherwood cutting
Farmer's Delight's cutting recipe type works on Silent Gear wood. Cutting Netherwood gives you Tree Bark and a Stripped Netherwood Log.[9]
Cutting (farmersdelight)
Recipe id: farmersdelight:integration/silentgear/cutting/netherwood
Supplementaries: Planter with Rich Soil
The Supplementaries Planter has a crafting recipe in this pack that uses Farmer's Delight's Rich Soil along with Bone Meal and a Brick.[9]
Quest: Food and Farming
The quest a quest in "Food and Farming" in the Food and Farming chapter accepts any of these kitchen items: the Cooking Pot, the Stove, the Skillet, the Farmer's Delight Cutting Board, or the Cooking for Blockheads cutting board. So the cutting board from either mod completes it.[3]
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Farmer's Delight?
2 parts
Farmer's Delight shows up in one quest in this pack, in the "Food and Farming" chapter: a quest in "Food and Farming". The quest has no title in the pack files, so it only appears by its ID.[3]
What the quest asks for
It's a single item task, and the task lists its items joined by "or". That means you only need one of them, not the whole set. The Farmer's Delight options are the Cooking Pot, the Stove, the Cutting Board and the Skillet. A cutting board from another mod, Cutting Board, is also on the list.[3]
Order
There's only one Farmer's Delight quest in the sources, so there's no sequence to follow for this mod. The sources don't show what this quest unlocks, what it requires beforehand, or what it rewards.[3]
Unverified Quest prerequisites, rewards and where this quest sits within the Food and Farming chapter are not confirmed by the available pack data.
Which Farmer's Delight config options matter?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 1.17a guide
The Farmer's Delight project page says modpack makers are free to customize the mod as they see fit. That means a pack can change config values or recipes compared with the mod's defaults.[1]
Unverified No config files for Farmer's Delight were available for this pack, so I can't confirm any option names or values, or which ones the pack changed from the mod defaults. To avoid showing you a mod default as if it were the pack's setting, I'm leaving specific options out of this section.
What changed in Farmer's Delight between versions?
2 parts
All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.2.1 ships Farmer's Delight 1.2.9, the 1.21.1 build of the mod. It has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier. There are no pack changelog entries for this mod, so everything below comes from the mod's own changelogs for its most recent releases.[2][10][11]
1.2.9 (the version in this pack)
- The offhand_equipment tag now includes forge:tools/shields by default.[10]
- Rich Soil Farmland can now be hydrated by any fluid type capable of hydration.[10]
- Wild Cabbage and Sea Beet can now generate in any biome tagged minecraft:is_beach.[10]
- The Cooking Pot no longer lets players cook and store up to 99 servings.[10]
- Cooking Pot crash in spectator mode: it is only a temporary fix, and access to the pot is now disabled in that mode.[10]
- Create integration milling recipes used an invalid field, so they never finished processing. That is fixed.[10]
- Rabbit Stew now returns its bowl after being eaten, which the Rabbit Stew buff had been breaking.[10]
- Fixed a potential datapack error with cooking recipes in KubeJS, and fixed the water-based Wheat Dough recipe still showing in JEI when disabled.[10]
1.2.8
This release added new item tags: #meals for bowl and plate foods the mod counts as a meal (Fruit Salad and Nether Salad are excluded), #drinks for drinkable items that are not potions, and #feasts for the full forms of feasts, whose portions sit in #meals.[11]
Wheat Dough also got a simpler recipe: craft Wheat with a Water Bucket. The bucket's water is not used up, so you can make dough indefinitely, and the bucket acts as a simple technology gate. The egg recipe stayed so auto-crafting setups don't break. In 1.21.1, all water bucket usages in the mod now go through the common c:buckets/water tag.[11]
- Knives were added to the breaks_decorated_pots tag, and the Master Chef advancement now includes more meals.[11]
- The Cooking Pot now always cools down when a recipe becomes invalid mid-cooking, instead of sometimes losing all progress.[11]
- Create's upright_on_belt integration now covers all bowl, plate and bottle items, and the Potato Cannon integration was fixed.[11]
- Fixed Knives with Silk Touch slicing Pumpkin blocks, and Jack-O-Lanterns not being mineable with a Knife.[11]
- Tomato budding bush planting rules are no longer hardcoded to vanilla farmland.[11]
- On 1.21.1, Rich Soil no longer negates fall damage, and Baskets and Cabinets now have an item handler capability.[11]
- Also fixed on 1.21.1: Immersive Engineering integration recipes, the Tall-mato advancement, and HUD overlays rendering on top of AppleSkin overlays.[11]
