What is Apotheosis?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Apotheosis is an RPG-style progression mod for vanilla gear. The pack includes version 8.8.0 of Apotheosis. Its Adventure module gives you procedurally generated loot with powerful bonuses, but it also brings tougher foes.[1][2][3]
The core idea is Affixes, bonuses that can be applied to any item from vanilla or other mods. Each affix item has a Rarity that decides which affixes it gets and how strong they are. Some items also have Sockets, which hold Gems for extra bonuses.[1][4][5][6]
The mod also adds World Tiers, a progression system for you, your gear and your enemies. There are five: Haven, Frontier, Ascent, Summit and Pinnacle. Increasing your World Tier gets you better loot and some direct bonuses, but it also increases the strength of every enemy in your world.[1][7]
Where the quest book puts it
The pack's quest book covers the mod in a chapter called "Apotheosis Gear", which has 30 quests. It starts with "Apotheosis Adventure" quest, which asks you for an Gem, the start of getting good gear. "Gem Dust" quest comes right after it.[8]
Several quests branch off Gem Dust: "Getting better Gems" quest (the Gem Cutting Table), "Simple Reforging Table" quest, "Vials and Sigils" quest and "Applying Gems (and others)" quest. "Salvaging Table" quest needs both Gem Dust and Applying Gems. After it come the rarity material quests such as "Mysterious Scrap Metals" quest and "Godforged Pearl" quest.[8]
The sigil quests follow Vials and Sigils, including "Sigil of Socketing" quest and "Sigil of Withdrawal" quest. The late-game "Augmenting Table" quest quest comes after "Sigil of Enhancement" quest and "Godforged Pearl" quest.[8]
The World Tier quests run as their own chain: "Invaders/Bosses and World Tiers" quest, then "World Tier: Haven" quest, "World Tier: Frontier" quest and "World Tier: Ascent" quest. a quest in "Apotheosis Gear" also follows Frontier. A few quests in this chapter didn't fit here, so check the quest book for the rest.[8]
How do you get started with Apotheosis?
6 parts
Apotheosis is all about affix items and gems, and in this pack the whole thing starts with a single Gem. Gems are rare drops from any mob, so the first job is simply to go out and fight things.[9][10]
The pack's quest book tells this story in the Apotheosis Gear chapter (Mod specific Quests group, chapter 32 of 54). It starts with "Apotheosis Adventure" quest, and "Gem Dust" quest comes right after it. The steps below follow that same flow.[9]
Step 1: Turn gems into Gem Dust
Gem Dust goes into almost every early recipe. To get your first batch, smash gems with a falling anvil. The quest recommends using only Common and Uncommon gems for this. Your first two dust have to come from the anvil, and after that you can switch to the Salvaging Table.[1][9][11]
Step 2: Build a Salvaging Table
The Salvaging Table breaks affix items down into Rarity Materials, and it gets you Gem Dust without any more anvils. It also recycles tools and armor that carry affixes. You'll need it before most of the later tables, so make it early.[9][11][12]

The material you get depends on the item's rarity. Common items give Mysterious Scrap Metal and Uncommon items give Timeworn Fabric. Rare items give Luminous Crystal Shard, Epic items give Arcane Sands, and Mythic items give Godforged Pearl.[9][12]
Step 3: Gem-Fused Slate and your first sigils
Gem-Fused Slate is the base for the sigils. The quest book groups sigils under "Vials and Sigils" quest, and they change your affix items in a Smithing Table, Reforging Table or Augmenting Table.[9][13]
Your gems need open sockets to do anything. If an item has none, the Sigil of Socketing can give it up to 2 when you combine the two in a Smithing Table. After that, combine the item and a gem in a Smithing Table to socket it.[9][10]

Step 4: Reforge your gear
The Simple Reforging Table works a bit like an Enchanting Table, but for affixes. Put the item in the center slot and Rarity Materials in the top-left slot. It offers three choices, and the second and third cost more. It can only reach Rare affixes.[9][14]

Reforging also needs fuel. Put Sigil of Rebirth in the bottom-right slot.[9][14]

For Epic and Mythic affixes you'll later upgrade to the Reforging Table. The quest book places that one after "Arcane Sands" quest and the Simple Reforging Table quest.[9][14]
Step 5: Better gems
Not happy with your gems? The Gem Cutting Table upgrades them. An upgrade usually costs Gem Dust, Rarity Materials and a second gem of the same purity. The cost climbs as the purity goes up, and you can check the exact cost in JEI.[9][15]

Don't forget World Tiers
World Tiers decide which rarities of loot and invaders show up. Haven is the first tier, and you get it by holding an affix item. It has the highest chances for Common gear and gems, and it sets your Max Eterna to 30. Press CTRL+T to open the World Tier screen. The later tiers need to be activated there after you unlock them.[9][16][17]
How does Apotheosis work?
6 parts
Apotheosis doesn't run on machines in the power-and-pipes sense. Its systems are crafting stations you work through their own screens: you drop items into input slots, pick an option and pay with fuel items or experience. Here is how each one works in this pack.[14][18][19]
Salvaging Table
The Salvaging Table breaks affix items down into Rarity Materials. Those materials are the currency for reforging and for gem cutting, so this is where most of your loop starts.[12][15][19]
- Common items give Mysterious Scrap Metal.[12][13]
- Uncommon items give Timeworn Fabric.[12][13]
- Rare items give Luminous Crystal Shard.[12][13]
- Epic items give Arcane Sands.[12][13]
- Mythic items give Godforged Pearl, which the guide says may only be obtained through salvaging mythic items.[12][13]
It also handles gems. Your first Gem Dust comes from dropping an Apothic Gem in the world and letting an anvil fall on it. After that you can use the Salvaging Table instead.[11][19]

Reforging
Reforging gives an item brand new affixes, and it works on any valid item, not just ones that already have affixes. You start with the Simple Reforging Table, which reforges up to Rare. For Epic and above you upgrade it into a Reforging Table.[14]
- The center slot holds the item you want to reforge.[14]
- The top-left slot holds Rarity Materials for the rarity you want to reforge with.[14]
- The bottom-right slot holds Sigil of Rebirth, the fuel for reforging.[13][14]
Like a vanilla Enchanting Table, you get three choices, and none is inherently stronger than the others. Each rarity has a base cost of experience, sigils and materials. The extra choice slots charge double and triple that base cost. Click the choice you want to reforge. You can reforge the same item more than once.[14]

Augmenting Table
The Augmenting Table is an end-game station for working on individual affixes without touching the rest of the item. The upper slot takes the affix item, and the guide suggests keeping this for Mythic items, with Epic as a possible extra. The lower slot takes Sigil of Enhancement as fuel. Then you pick the affix from the drop-down menu.[18]
- Upgrade: costs two Sigils of Enhancement and raises the affix's internal strength by 25%. How much that helps depends on the affix.[18]
- Reroll: costs one Sigil of Enhancement and swaps the selected affix for another of the same type. The alternatives are shown on the left.[18]
The screen also shows an experience cost in levels, and it tells you when an affix is already at max level or has no alternatives.[19]

Gem Cutting and the Gem Case
The Gem Cutting Table upgrades gems. An upgrade usually costs Gem Dust, Rarity Materials and a second gem of the same purity. Higher purity costs more Gem Dust and higher-tier materials, and JEI shows the exact cost. A Perfect Gem can't be upgraded any further.[10][15]

The Gem Case is storage for gems. It holds a very large stack of gems of each type and purity, and it can be upgraded to hold more. It has a name filter and an item filter, which finds gems that fit a specific item.[20]
It also has six auxiliary slots for upgrade materials. With enough materials and gems, you can upgrade gems right inside the case, which makes the Gem Cutting Table obsolete. The upgrade button shows its cost, and there is an option to upgrade as many gems as possible.[19][20]
The Gem Case of House Fabergé has a vastly larger storage capacity than the normal case. You can't craft it directly, only create it through Infusion Enchanting.[19][20]

To socket a gem, combine it with the item in a Smithing Table. To take gems back out, combine the item with a Sigil of Withdrawal in a Smithing Table, and the item and all its gems are returned.[10]
Enchanting-side systems
Infusion Enchanting is a crafting method that runs through the Enchanting Table. Each infusion recipe has one item input and three stat requirements. Most have a minimum value, and some also have a maximum. Infusions only use the third slot. Place the item, and if your stats are right the slot lights up and you click it.[21]
Eterna is the primary stat, and each point raises the maximum enchanting level by two. Arcana is a secondary stat that controls the rarity weights. At 25% Arcana you will always receive at least two enchantments, and at 75% you will always receive three.[22]
The Enchantment Library stores enchantments as points when you insert enchanted books. Each library has a Level Capacity, the highest level it can store, and anything above that is voided. Clicking a stored enchantment extracts one level, and shift-clicking extracts as many levels as possible. You can also put a book in the output slot to add enchantments to it. The library only extracts up to the highest level ever inserted. The Library of Alexandria has a higher capacity than the standard one and can only be made through Infusion Enchanting.[23]
Spawner runes
The Spawner Module lets you move and modify mob spawners. This pack changes the recipes for several spawner runes, including Rune of Immolation, so use the recipe shown here rather than the mod's default.[13][24]

How do you progress through Apotheosis?
7 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Progression for Apotheosis in this pack runs on the World Tier you unlock by gearing up and the crafting chain you build along the way. They feed each other, so it helps to see both before you start.[17][25]
World Tiers
There are five tiers: Haven, Frontier, Ascent, Summit and Pinnacle. A tier is a per-player modifier. Each one raises enemy strength and reward quality, and shifts which rarities and gems can show up.[25]
Tiers do not switch on by themselves. After you unlock one, open the World Tier Select screen (CTRL+T by default), click the tier and press Activate. You can switch tiers whenever you like. The Detailed Info button shows the rarity and purity weights for each tier.[16]
- Haven is enabled by default, but you won't see it until you pick up your first Affix Item.[17]
- Frontier: equip an Affix Item in every armor slot and hold an Affixed Weapon in either hand.[17]
- Ascent: equip a full set of Uncommon Affix Items, including a weapon, and slay an Apothic Invader.[17]
- Summit: get a full set of Rare Affix Items and slay the Wither.[17]
- Pinnacle: get a full set of Epic items and free The End by slaying the Ender Dragon.[17]
Which rarities show up where
The quest texts describe where each rarity shows up, so you know roughly what to expect as you climb:[8]
- The quest text says Common is most frequent in Haven and stops appearing after Summit.[8]
- The quest text says Uncommon starts in Haven, is most abundant in Frontier and stops in Pinnacle.[8]
- The quest text says Rare appears in all tiers but is most common in Ascent.[8]
- The quest text says Epic appears after Frontier and is most common in Pinnacle.[8]
- The quest text says Mythic is found only in Summit and Pinnacle, and is most common in Pinnacle.[8]
The gear path
Here are the steps in the order the quest book currently lays them out:[8]
- Get a Gem. The quest says gems are rare drops from any mob and confirmed drops from Invaders, which it covers later, so for now it tells you to farm mobs ("Apotheosis Adventure" quest).[8]
- Make Gem Dust by smashing a gem under a falling anvil. The quest text recommends using only Common and Uncommon gems for this ("Gem Dust" quest).[8]
- Craft the Salvaging Table. The quest text says it can get you materials and Gem Dust without anvils ("Salvaging Table" quest).[8]
- Craft the Simple Reforging Table, which the quest compares to an enchanting table for affixes. With it you can only get up to Rare affixes ("Simple Reforging Table" quest).[8]
- Upgrade to the Reforging Table, which the quest text says adds Epic and Mythic affixes ("(Better) Reforging Table" quest).[8]
- Finish with the Augmenting Table, which the quest text calls what you need for perfect affixes ("Augmenting Table" quest).[8]

Salvaging gives you one material per rarity: Mysterious Scrap Metal from Common, Timeworn Fabric from Uncommon, Luminous Crystal Shard from Rare, Arcane Sands from Epic and Godforged Pearl from Mythic. Each of these feeds a later step. For example, the Reforging Table uses Arcane Sands, and the Augmenting Table uses a Godforged Pearl.[26]
Endgame: Augmenting
The Augmenting Table is the end-game station. It upgrades or rerolls a single affix and leaves the rest intact. Rerolling costs one Sigil of Enhancement and an upgrade costs two, boosting that affix's internal strength by 25%. Typically you should only augment items of at least Mythic rarity, though Epic ones are worth considering.[18]

The quests also mention the Sigil of Supremacy, which can't be crafted. It strengthens every affix on a piece of gear, and you get it by beating 100 waves of the Endless Gateway of Apothic Invaders.[8]
Upgrade templates
Apotheosis also gives you upgrade templates for smithing, so you can upgrade gear while keeping its enchants and affixes. The quest chain points you at the diamond one first ("Diamond Upgrade Template" quest).[27]

Enchanting Table levels
Your table level climbs through shelf upgrades, and the in-game guide lays out the milestones:[28][29][30][31]
- Level 30 takes the usual fifteen bookshelves.[28]
- Level 45 comes from Hellshelves, or Seashelves if you'd rather avoid the Nether.[29]
- Level 60 comes from infusing those shelves and building more.[29]
- Level 70 needs a Level 60 table and an infused Deepshelf.[30]
- Level 75 means upgrading your Deepshelves with Echo Shards from the Ancient City and Sculk collected with Silk Touch.[30]
- Level 80 requires slaying the Warden, which lets you craft Sculkshelves.[30]
- Level 90 needs a Level 80 table plus Infused Dragon's Breath.[31]
- Level 100 is the maximum, and a single Draconic Endshelf gets you from 90 to 100. You need a Dragon Head from the outer End to make one.[31]
Maxing your Eterna at 100 also unlocks infusing a God-Fused Pearl ("God-Fused Pearl" quest), and the pack lets you infuse a Gem Case into a Gem Case of House Fabergé. The normal Gem Case holds up to 32,768 of each unique gem and purity, while the House Fabergé version holds about 2.1 billion.[26][32]
Spawner upgrade tiers
Spawner Upgrade Runes are a four-step ladder. Each one sets several stats at once instead of nudging a single one. All four recipes are changed by the pack, so don't rely on older guides. The stats are listed here as minimum delay, maximum delay, spawn count, max entities and activation range.[26][33]
- Frontiersman's Spawner Upgrade Rune (first, cheapest, weakest): 150, 600, 7, 12 and 24.[33]
- Wayfarer's Spawner Upgrade Rune (second): 100, 400, 10, 18 and 32.[33]
- Mountaineer's Spawner Upgrade Rune (third): 50, 200, 13, 24 and 40. The quest says you'll need to fight a Warden for it.[33]
- Thundering Spawner Upgrade Rune (fourth and final): 20, 20, 16, 32 and 48.[33]

How does Apotheosis work with other mods?
4 parts
Apotheosis doesn't sit alone in this pack. Its recipes reach into Gateways, its sibling module Apothic Enchanting, and Create Enchantment Industry, and the pack also teaches Apotheosis how to treat gear from a few other mods. Every recipe below was changed by the pack, so don't trust what you remember from the mod's defaults.[1][13][34]
Gateways
The Apotheosis Gear quest chapter (in the group "Mod specific Quests", chapter 32 of 54 in the book) has a quest for the Gate Pearl, which comes after the World Tier: Frontier quest. a quest in "Apotheosis Gear" explains that there are Gateways for each World Tier except Haven, sending waves of monsters and Invaders, with a variety of rewards when you beat the final wave.[9]
The pack has three Gate Pearl recipes, one each for the Ascent, Summit and Pinnacle tiers. All three use Apotheosis items, and the Pinnacle one also pulls in Apothic Enchanting items.[13]

Its quest, a quest in "Apotheosis Gear", says nobody knows how to craft it and only mentions rumors that Invaders drop it. The Apothic Enchanting and Apothic Spawners chapters in the quest book cover those modules in more depth.[9][13]
Create Enchantment Industry
Three machines from this mod need Apotheosis items to craft: the Gem Cutter, the Affix Augmentor and the Infuser. The Infuser is a KubeJS recipe in this pack, and the other two are also pack-changed.[13]

Gear from other mods
The pack ships its own loot category overrides so Apotheosis knows what some modded tools are. The alloy paxel from Allthemodium and the promethium pickaxe and hand drill from Oritech count as breakers. Silent Gear's mace and axe, plus the Draconic Evolution draconic and chaotic staffs, count as melee weapons.[34]
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Apotheosis?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Apotheosis shows up in the Apotheosis Gear, Apothic Spawners, Apothic Enchanting and Chapter 2: The Cool Parts quest chapters in this pack. Below I go through each one and the order the quests unlock in.[8][27][32][33]
Apotheosis Gear
This is the main gear chapter, and it starts with "Apotheosis Adventure" quest. You hand in an Gem, which the quest says drops rarely from any mob and is a confirmed drop from Invaders. Next comes "Gem Dust" quest, where you smash a Gem under a falling Anvil to get Gem Dust.[8]
Gem Dust opens several branches. They all unlock after it:[8]
- "Getting better Gems" quest asks for the Gem Cutting Table, used to raise a Gem's rarity.[8]
- "Simple Reforging Table" quest asks for the Simple Reforging Table. It only reaches Rare affixes.[8]
- "Vials and Sigils" quest asks for a Gem-Fused Slate and leads into all the sigil quests.[8]
- "Salvaging Table" quest asks for the Salvaging Table. It also needs the Applying Gems (and others) quest.[8]
After the Salvaging Table you get one quest per rarity material: "Mysterious Scrap Metals" quest (Common), "Timeworn Fabric" quest (Uncommon), "Luminous Crystal Shard" quest (Rare), "Arcane Sands" quest (Epic) and "Godforged Pearl" quest (Mythic). Each material comes from salvaging items of that rarity. Once you have Arcane Sands and the Simple Reforging Table, "(Better) Reforging Table" quest asks for the Reforging Table, which also gives Epic and Mythic affixes.[8]
The sigil quests all follow Vials and Sigils: "Sigil of Enhancement" quest, "Sigil of Socketing" quest, "Sigil of Rebirth" quest, "Sigil of Unnaming" quest, "Sigil of Withdrawal" quest and a quest in "Apotheosis Gear". Once you have the Sigil of Enhancement and the Godforged Pearl, "Augmenting Table" quest asks for the Augmenting Table.[8]
Apothic Spawners
"Blowing up Spawners" quest starts this chapter. You blow up a spawner with TNT to collect Spawner Chain. The quest says that at the time of writing you get 48-57 chains. a quest in "Apothic Spawners" then asks for the base Spawner Rune, and the rest of the chapter branches from it.[33]
The basic modifier runes are "Quiet down you'll wake up the mobs!" quest, "Redstone Active" quest, "Ignore Light" quest, "Spawn Range" quest, "Burning" quest, "Youthful" quest and "Health" quest. The first two upgrade runes sit on this same branch, and each one sets several stats at once:[33]
- a quest in "Apothic Spawners": the Frontiersman's Spawner Upgrade Rune is the first and weakest tier. It sets Minimum Spawn Delay to 150, Maximum Spawn Delay to 600, Spawn Count to 7, Max Entities to 12 and Activation Range to 24.[33]
- a quest in "Apothic Spawners": the Wayfarer's Spawner Upgrade Rune is the second tier. It sets Minimum Spawn Delay to 100, Maximum Spawn Delay to 400, Spawn Count to 10, Max Entities to 18 and Activation Range to 32.[33]
The advanced branch begins with a quest in "Apothic Spawners" and the Infused Spawner Rune. The quest says you need at least 70 Eterna, 30% Quanta and 50% Arcana in an Enchanting Table. After it come "Echoing" quest, "Ignore Players" quest, "Ignore All Conditions" quest and "No AI" quest. The last two upgrade tiers also unlock here:[33]
- a quest in "Apothic Spawners": the Mountaineer's Spawner Upgrade Rune is the third tier, and the quest says you must fight a Warden for it. It sets Minimum Spawn Delay to 50, Maximum Spawn Delay to 200, Spawn Count to 13, Max Entities to 24 and Activation Range to 40.[33]
- a quest in "Apothic Spawners": the Thundering Spawner Upgrade Rune is the fourth and final tier. It sets both spawn delays to 20, Spawn Count to 16, Max Entities to 32 and Activation Range to 48.[33]
Apothic Enchanting
"Gem Case" quest asks for the Gem Case, which the quest says holds up to 32,768 of each unique Gem and Purity. "Infusing Spawner Runes" quest repeats the Infused Spawner Rune requirements and comes after the Other Infusion Items and To reach the Summit quests.[32]
"Gem Case of House Fabergé" quest follows the Gem Case and the Ahh, Pinnacle, at last quest. It asks for the Gem Case of House Fabergé, which the quest says holds 2.1 Billion of each unique Gem and is made by infusing the Gem Case. "God-Fused Pearl" quest comes after the Draconic Endshelf quest and asks for the God-Fused Pearl. It needs 100 Eterna, 9.65-11.00% Quanta and 58.75-60.0% Arcana.[32]
Chapter 2: The Cool Parts
This chapter has a short Apotheosis line that picks up after Apotheosis Adventure. It runs through "Gem Dust" quest and then a quest in "Chapter 2: The Cool Parts", another Salvaging Table quest that points you toward Luminous Crystal Shards from Rare items. The last quest, "Diamond Upgrade Template" quest, asks for the Smithing Template. The quest says it helps keep enchants and affixes on an item while you upgrade it.[27]
Which Apotheosis config options matter?
3 parts
Almost everything you'll want to tweak for enchanting lives in one file, config/apotheosis/enchantments.cfg. Every enchantment gets the same five options: Max Level, Max Loot Level, Forced Level Cap, Max Power Function and Min Power Function. That covers vanilla enchantments and ones from other mods too.[35]
Max levels the pack changed
Apotheosis raises enchantment caps a lot by default, and the pack pulls many of them back down. Here are the ones you'll notice most, with the pack value first, then the mod default, then the original level.[35]
- [[config:config/apotheosis/enchantments.cfg#minecraft:sharpness.Max Level]] is 7 in the pack (mod default 9, originally 5).[35]
- [[config:config/apotheosis/enchantments.cfg#minecraft:efficiency.Max Level]] is 5 in the pack (mod default 9, originally 5), so it stays at its original level.[35]

- The Tombstone enchantments are trimmed too. [[config:config/apotheosis/enchantments.cfg#tombstone:blessing.Max Level]] is 10 in the pack and [[config:config/apotheosis/enchantments.cfg#tombstone:spectral_bite.Max Level]] is 7, against a mod default of 13 for both.[35]
Fortune has a hard cap
Options left at their defaults
Max Loot Level is separate from Max Level, because it limits what you can find in loot. For example, [[config:config/apotheosis/enchantments.cfg#minecraft:fortune.Max Loot Level]] stays at the mod default of 3, even though you can enchant it up to 5.[35]
The power functions are also untouched in the entries I could check. [[config:config/apotheosis/enchantments.cfg#minecraft:fortune.Max Power Function]] and [[config:config/apotheosis/enchantments.cfg#minecraft:fortune.Min Power Function]] are both empty, the same as the mod default. The rest of the enchantments in the pack are set in that same enchantments.cfg file.[35]
What changed in Apotheosis between versions?
All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.6 ships Apotheosis 8.8.0 (the file is Apotheosis-1.21.1-8.8.0.jar). The mod has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the modpack.[36]
Unverified The individual changes in the Apotheosis 8.8.0 changelog, and any earlier mod versions the pack has used, couldn't be confirmed from the sources available for this guide. The pack changelogs also have no entries for this mod, so there is no confirmed list of notable changes between pack releases.
