What is Apotheosis?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.14 guide
Apotheosis is all about making you stronger than ever before while still feeling true to vanilla Minecraft at heart. This pack runs version 8.4.0. The Apotheosis mod itself is the adventure module: it adds Affixes, Gems, World Tiers and everything else you need for RPG-style gear progression, without it taking over the game.[1][2]
Apotheosis is part of a family of mods, and it requires the other three to run. Apothic Attributes adds the new attributes and potion effects. Apothic Spawners lets you pick up and modify mob spawners. Apothic Enchanting fully overhauls the enchanting system.[1]
What you'll be doing
- Hunting affix items: any item, from vanilla or other mods, can roll affixes. Its rarity, from Common up to Mythic, decides how many bonuses it gets and how strong they are.[1][3]
- Breaking loot down at the Salvaging Table into Rarity Materials, then spending them at the Reforging Table to make your own affix items.[1][4][5]
- Socketing Gems into your gear for extra bonuses. Each gem gives different bonuses depending on the type of item it goes into.[1][6]
- Climbing the five World Tiers, from Haven to Pinnacle. Higher tiers give you better loot and some direct bonuses, but every enemy in your world gets stronger too.[1][7]
- Fighting Apothic Invaders, which start appearing from the Frontier tier. Each one carries an affix item and always drops it when you kill it.[1]
Where it fits in your progression
Apotheosis is with you from the very start. Affix items show up in loot chests and on mobs, and your World Tier decides how rare they are. The Simple Reforging Table handles items up to Rare rarity. To reforge Epic items or higher, you upgrade it into a full Reforging Table. The Summit tier only opens up after you've slain the Wither.[1][5]
At the very end sits the Augmenting Table, where you upgrade or reroll individual affixes. It costs a lot of experience and uses Sigils of Enhancement as fuel, so it's the place to perfect your build once you have near-endless resources.[1][8]
Unverified The sources don't show whether this pack changes reforging costs or World Tier unlock requirements. Modpacks are able to change both, so check in game.
How do you get started with Apotheosis?
7 parts
Apotheosis is all about finding loot with bonuses (affix items), breaking it down, and building your own better gear. The order below gets you there without wasting materials. The mod also has its own in-game guidebook, the Chronicle of Shadows, so check it whenever you want more detail.[1][10][11]
First: find your first affix item and gems
Affix items turn up in loot chests and drop from random mobs. Gems come from similar sources, and they are more likely to drop from bosses. Picking up your first affix item also reveals the Haven world tier, which is enabled by default. You can open the tier screen with CTRL+T.[1][12][13][14]
Next: make your first Gem Dust
Gem Dust is the key crafting ingredient for most of what follows. Your first two dust have to come from an anvil crushing two gems. After that, the Salvaging Table takes over.[1][15]
Build the Salvaging Table
The Salvaging Table breaks affix items down into rarity materials and turns gems into Gem Dust. Rarity materials are how you'll fuel your own crafting later, so don't throw away spare affix items.[1][16][17]

Craft Gem-Fused Slate
Gem-Fused Slate is a base ingredient in this pack's sigil recipes and in the smithing template recipes, so make a few.[17]
Reforge your own gear
The Simple Reforging Table lets you reforge any valid item up to Rare rarity, even one with no affixes yet. It uses rarity materials and Sigil of Rebirth as fuel. You also get three choices, and none of them is inherently stronger than the others.[17][18]

Work with gems and sockets
The Gem Cutting Table upgrades gems, and higher purity gems cost more to upgrade. You can see the exact cost in JEI. To socket a gem, combine it with an item in a smithing table.[12][19]

If an item has no sockets, Sigil of Socketing can add one. To take gems back out, combine the item with a Sigil of Withdrawal in a smithing table, and the item and all its gems are returned.[1][12]

Later: the Augmenting Table
The Augmenting Table is an end-game station for upgrading or rerolling single affixes, and it runs on Sigil of Enhancement. It is best used on Mythic items, and Epic ones are worth considering too, so save it for when you have that kind of gear.[20]

How does Apotheosis work?
7 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.2.1 guide
Apotheosis machines are crafting stations that turn gear and gems into rarity materials, then back into stronger gear. The loop is simple: salvage affix items into rarity materials, spend those (plus sigils) at the reforging, augmenting and gem cutting stations, and use the smithing table for sockets.[1][16][21]
Salvaging Table
The Salvaging Table breaks affix items down into Rarity Materials. Each rarity of item gives its own material, so what you salvage decides what you get.[16][21]
- Common items give apotheosis:common_material.[16][22]
- Uncommon items give apotheosis:uncommon_material.[16][22]
- Rare items give apotheosis:rare_material.[16][22]
- Epic items give apotheosis:epic_material.[16][22]
- Mythic items give apotheosis:mythic_material, which the guide says may only be obtained through salvaging mythic items.[16][22]

The same table turns gems into Gem Dust. The pack has a gem salvaging recipe for every purity from cracked to perfect. Getting started takes a manual step: you crush gems with an anvil first, by dropping a gem in the world and letting an anvil block fall on it. The in-game tooltip says this gives your first Gem Dust, while the mod's project page says your first two. Crush a couple of gems to be safe, then switch to the table.[1][15][21][22]
Reforging
Reforging gives an item brand new affixes. It works on any valid item, not only items that already have affixes, and you can reforge the same item more than once. You start with the Simple Reforging Table, which handles items up to Rare. For Epic and above you upgrade it into the Reforging Table.[18]

In this pack the Reforging Table is crafted as an upgrade of the Simple Reforging Table.
The table has three input slots. Here is where everything goes:[18]
- The center slot holds the item you want to reforge.[18]
- The top-left slot holds Rarity Materials for the rarity you want to reforge with.[18]
- The bottom-right slot holds Sigil of Rebirth, the fuel for reforging.[18][21][22]

Recipe id: apotheosis:sigil_of_rebirth
Like an Enchanting Table, reforging offers three choices, and none is stronger than the others. Each rarity has a base cost in experience, sigils and materials. The extra choice slots charge double and triple that base cost. The guide notes that modpacks can change these costs or block reforging at certain rarities.[18]
Unverified The exact reforging costs in this pack are not shown in the sources here, and no Apotheosis config files were available, so check them in-game.
Augmenting Table
The Augmenting Table is the end-game station for improving single affixes while leaving the rest of the item alone. The upper slot takes the affix item, ideally Mythic and possibly Epic. The lower slot takes Sigil of Enhancement, and you pick the affix from a drop-down menu.[20][21]

- Upgrade: costs two Sigils of Enhancement and raises the affix's internal strength by 25%. How much that helps depends on the affix.[20]
- Reroll: costs one Sigil of Enhancement and swaps the selected affix for another of the same type. The alternatives are shown on the left.[20]
Gem Cutting and Sockets
The Gem Cutting Table upgrades gems. An upgrade usually costs Gem Dust, Rarity Materials and a second gem of the same purity. Higher purities cost more dust and higher-tier materials. Perfect gems cannot be upgraded any further, and the exact cost for each upgrade is shown in JEI.[12][19][21]

To socket a gem, put the item on the left and the gem on the right in a Smithing Table. The mod's project page adds that you can also right-click the item while holding the gem. Each gem lists which items it fits, and a Unique gem can only be socketed once per item.[1][12][21]
These sigils handle socket and name management:[21]
- Sigil of Socketing adds one socket to an item.[21][22]
- Sigil of Withdrawal removes all socketed gems. The item and the gems are both returned.[12][21]
- Sigil of Unnaming removes the affix components from an item's name, and is used in a Smithing Table.[21][22]

Smithing Templates
The pack has these Apotheosis upgrade templates: Smithing Template, Smithing Template and Smithing Template. Their tooltips say the iron one takes chain armor or stone equipment plus four iron ingots, and the gold one takes iron gear plus four gold ingots. The diamond one takes golden gear. Each of their recipes uses a Gem-Fused Slate.[21][22]
World Tiers
World Tiers are per-player difficulty settings: Haven, Frontier, Ascent, Summit and Pinnacle. They control how strong enemies are, which rarities and gem purities show up, and the bonuses you get.[24]
The default guide says you activate unlocked tiers yourself. This pack is different: its tier screen says World Tiers are activated automatically and cannot be changed by hand. You can still open the screen to see each tier's buffs, debuffs, rarity chances and gem purity chances.[13][14][21]
Enchanting Overhaul
Apotheosis also reworks enchanting around stats from your shelves. Each point of Eterna raises the maximum enchanting level by two. At 25% Arcana you will always receive at least two enchantments, and at 75% always three. Level 30 is reached with fifteen bookshelves, and the highest an Enchanting Table can reach is Level 100.[25][26][27]
The Enchantment Library stores enchantments from books as points. It holds levels up to its Level Capacity, which is sixteen for the standard library, and anything above that is voided. You extract levels by clicking a stored enchantment. The Library of Alexandria has a capacity of thirty-one and can only be made through Infusion Enchanting.[28]
How do you progress through Apotheosis?
6 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.2.1 guide
Apotheosis progression in this pack runs on two tracks. The quest line takes you from your first Gem Dust through salvaging and into the upgrade templates. Alongside it, the mod's own systems (World Tiers, rarities and enchanting levels) set the long-term pace. Here is the path, step by step.[24][29]
Step 1: Gem Dust and the Salvaging Table
The quest a quest in "?" has you turn a gem into Gem Dust. You get the gem alongside a rare Affixed Item, then crush it under a falling anvil. The quest says Gem Dust is needed for many recipes, including the Salvaging Table.[29]
The next quest, a quest in "?", asks for the Salvaging Table. Here is the in-pack recipe:[22][29]
Crafting Shaped
| any copper ingot | any copper ingot | any copper ingot |
Recipe id: apotheosis:salvaging_table
The Salvaging Table turns gems into Gem Dust and turns Affixed Items into a rarity material that matches the item's rarity. In this pack the salvaging recipes give these materials: apotheosis:common_material for Common, apotheosis:uncommon_material for Uncommon, apotheosis:rare_material for Rare, apotheosis:epic_material for Epic and apotheosis:mythic_material for Mythic. The quest text lists the top rarity as Legendary, but the pack's salvaging recipes and rarity guide use Mythic.[22][29][30]
Step 2: Gem-Fused Slate and upgrade templates
Many of the mod's crafted items use Gem-Fused Slate. The quest describes it as just Deepslate and Gem Dust.[22][29]
The quest a quest in "?" asks for the Diamond Upgrade Template. It says Apotheosis gives you upgrade templates from Stone to Diamond, and that they help you keep enchants and affixes on an item while upgrading it. The pack has recipes for Iron, Gold and Diamond templates, and each one uses a higher-rarity salvage material than the last: Mysterious Scrap Metal, Timeworn Fabric, then Luminous Crystal Shard.[22][29]

Step 3: Crafting stations and sigils
The pack also has recipes for the other Apotheosis stations: the Gem Cutting Table, the Simple Reforging Table and the full Reforging Table. The quest sources here do not show a quest order for them.[22]

End game: the Augmenting Table
The Augmenting Table is described as an end-game crafting station used to augment the individual affixes of an item. The Sigil of Enhancement is its fuel item.[20]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: apotheosis:augmenting_table
The in-game guide says upgrading an affix costs two Sigils of Enhancement and raises its internal strength by 25%, while rerolling costs one sigil and swaps the affix for another of the same type. It recommends augmenting items of at least Mythic rarity, though Epic ones can also be worth it.[20]
World Tiers
There are five World Tiers: Haven, Frontier, Ascent, Summit and Pinnacle. Each one raises the difficulty and the rewards. Higher tiers also make higher-rarity items and Invaders more common. Tiers are unlocked through advancements, and after unlocking one you have to activate it yourself. Open the World Tier Select screen with CTRL+T (the default keybind) and press the Activate button.[13][14][24]
These are the default unlock requirements from the in-game guide:[13]
- Haven is enabled by default, but you won't see it until you pick up your first Affix Item.[13]
- Frontier: equip an Affix Item in each armor slot and hold an Affixed Weapon in either hand.[13]
- Ascent: equip a full set of Uncommon Affix Items, including a weapon, and slay an Apothic Invader.[13]
- Summit: acquire a full set of Rare Affix Items and slay the Wither.[13]
- Pinnacle: obtain a full set of Epic items and slay the Ender Dragon.[13]
Enchanting level progression
Enchanting Table levels have their own ladder. This is how the in-game guide describes the climb:[26][27][31][32][33]
- Level 30 comes the usual way, with fifteen bookshelves.[26]
- Level 45 needs Hellshelves, or Seashelves if you'd rather avoid the Nether.[32]
- Level 60 needs Infusion Enchanting to upgrade your shelves.[32]
- Level 70 needs a Level 60 table, access to Deepslate, and an infused Dormant Deepshelf to make a Deepshelf.[33]
- Level 75 means upgrading your Deepshelves with Echo Shards from the Ancient City and Sculk collected with Silk Touch.[33]
- Level 80 requires slaying the Warden, which lets you craft Sculkshelves.[33]
- Level 90 needs a Level 80 table and Dragon's Breath, to make the Infused Dragon's Breath used in Endshelves.[27]
- Level 100 is the maximum. It needs a Dragon Head from the outer End, and a single Draconic Endshelf takes a table from Level 90 to Level 100.[27]
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Apotheosis?
4 parts
The quest book gives Apotheosis two chapters of its own in the pack: "Apothic Enchanting" (44 quests) and "Apothic Spawners" (19 quests). A few quests in other chapters mention it in passing, and those are at the end. Below I describe what each quest asks for and what its text says. Some of that text is written as the state of things for now: the Endshelves quest, for example, says their stats currently aren't the best.[34][35]
Apothic Enchanting
The chapter opens with "Apothic Enchanting" quest, which asks for an Enchanting Table. Its text says 15 bookshelves won't be enough now, and that there are new bookshelves and new actions at the table. "Enchantment Library" quest also has no prerequisite. It asks for the Enchantment Library, which its text calls the single greatest enchanted book storage.[34]
The main line runs from "Vanilla Max is just the start" quest into "Infusing" quest. The Infusing quest describes infusion as a special version of enchanting that offers better enchantments once the right Eterna, Quanta and Arcana are reached. Most of the chapter branches off it. Here is the order of the shelf path:[34]
- "Hellshelves" quest comes first on the Nether side. It asks for the Hellshelf, and its text says it gives 3% Quanta and 3 Eterna and that you want 16 of them. "Infused Hellshelves" quest follows, then "Glowing Hellshelf" quest, "Blazing Hellshelf" quest and "Enchanting Clues" quest.[34]
- "Seashelves" quest is the sea-side equivalent. Its text says Seashelves give 3% Arcana and 3 Eterna. "Infused Seashelf" quest follows, then "Crystalline Seashelf" quest, "Heart-Forged Seashelf" quest and "Remove Enchantments from Pool" quest.[34]
- "Deepshelf" quest needs both sides done first (Glowing Hellshelf and Crystalline Seashelf). Its text gives 60 Eterna, 40% Quanta and 40% Arcana as the levels needed to infuse Dormant Deepshelves.[34]
- "Echoing Deepshelf" quest and "Soul-Touched Deepshelf" quest follow the Deepshelf quest. They lead to "Echoing Sculkshelf" quest and "Soul-Touched Sculkshelf" quest, and the text of those two says they give a max Eterna of 80.[34]
- "Infused Dragon's Breath" quest comes after both Sculkshelf quests and after "Negative Enchantments Removal" quest. Its text says the set-up gives 80 Eterna, 25% Quanta and 100% Arcana.[34]
- "Endshelves" quest comes next. Its text mentions a max Eterna of 90 and says the stats currently aren't the best. Then come "Draconic Endshelf" quest (max Eterna of 100 in its text) and "Pearlescent Endshelf" quest.[34]
- "Best Enchanting set-up" quest comes after the Draconic Endshelf quest. It asks for 4 Soul-Touched Sculkshelf, 4 Echoing Sculkshelf, a Draconic Endshelf, a Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability and a Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures.[34]
The stat quests "Eterna" quest, "Quanta" quest and "Arcana" quest are the book's explanations of Eterna, Quanta and Arcana. "Negative amounts" quest comes after them, and its text says that each shelf it asks for lowers the amount of its respective quantity.[34]
Infusion and Tome side branches
"Other Infusion Items" quest asks for Lapis Lazuli, and its text says it's not just bookshelves that can be infused. Quests after it include "Making Budding Amethyst" quest, "Making a real Trident" quest, "Unbreakable Charms" quest, "Crafting EXP?" quest and "Infinite Echo Shards?" quest. The Library of Alexandria quest, "Library of Alexandria" quest, needs the Enchantment Library quest as well.[34]
"Tomes" quest asks for a Book. It leads to "Tome of Scrapping" quest, "Armor Tomes" quest, "Tool Tomes" quest, "Weapon Tomes" quest and "ETC. Tomes" quest. The scrapping line continues through "Tome of Superior Scrapping" quest to a quest in "Apothic Enchanting", which also needs Other Infusion Items.[34]
Apothic Spawners
"Apothic Spawners" quest asks for a Spawner. Its text says mining spawners with Silk Touch is back thanks to Apotheosis, and that you add modifications by right clicking with certain items. All the other visible quests list it as their prerequisite, so you can do them in any order. Each asks you to get one modification item:[35]
- Timing: "Maximum Spawn Delay" quest (Clock) and "Minimum Spawn Delay" quest (Sugar). The quest text says each item changes the delay by 10, within a range of 20 to 32,767.[35]
- Ranges: "Spawn Range" quest (Piston) and "Activation Range" quest (Prismarine Crystals). The activation range quest says the range goes from 1 block to a 48 block radius.[35]
- Counts: "Max Entities" quest (Ghast Tear) is described as changing max entities by 2 per tear, from 1 to 16. "Spawn Count" quest (Fermented Spider Eye) is described as changing spawn count by 1 per eye, up to 16.[35]
- Conditions: the text of "Ignore Light" quest (Soul Lantern) says it ignores light, "Ignore Players" quest (Nether Star) ignores players, and "Ignore All Conditions" quest (Conduit) ignores most conditions. "Redstone Active" quest (Comparator) adds a redstone on/off switch.[35]
- Mob changes: the quest text says "No AI" quest (Chorus Fruit) removes AI, "Burning" quest (Campfire) sets spawned mobs on fire, and "Youthful" quest (Turtle Egg) spawns babies, vanilla mobs only. "Health" quest (Pointed Dripstone) lowers max health, down to 20%, and "Echoing" quest (Echo Shard) multiplies drops.[35]
- Extras: the text of "Opposite Day" quest (Quartz) says it reverses what the other item does, and "Quiet down you'll wake up the mobs!" quest says any wool silences the spawner.[35]
Mentions elsewhere
Apotheosis also comes up in a few other chapters. The Ender Generator quest, "Ender Generator" quest, mentions farming Apotheosis Gems. The Mod Filter quest, a quest in "Basic Logistics", uses an Apotheosis Gem as its example. In the Immersive Engineering chapter, "Commando" quest says Commandos drop Revolver parts with stats similar to Apotheosis stats. The book gives no other Apotheosis tasks in those chapters. Most of the Immersive Engineering chapter's quest text isn't shown here, so check the quest book for the rest.[36][37][38]
