What is Create: Enchantment Industry?

2 parts

This pack includes Create: Enchantment Industry 2.4.2. It's an add-on for Create that gives you more tools and methods for handling experience and enchanting, so you can automate things you'd normally do by hand.[1][2]

It's for you if you already run Create machinery and want enchanting, repairing and experience handling to be part of your factory instead of a manual chore.[1]

What it adds

  • Liquid Experience: high-density experience that is easy to store and transport.[1]
  • Experience Hatch: lets you interact with a fluid tank directly, using your own experience.[1]
  • Mechanical Grindstone: a fully automated Grindstone with an extra sanding function.[1]
  • Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger: a blaze acting as a smart enchanting table and a smart anvil.[1]
  • Printer: copies written books, enchanted books, name tags, train schedules and more.[1]
  • Experience Lantern: absorbs experience and also works on contraptions.[1]
  • Deployer and Crushing Wheel tweak: their kills drop experience nuggets.[1]
  • Hyper-enchantmechanism lets you break the limits of enchantments.[1]
  • Mending on belt: items with Mending can be repaired using a Spout and Liquid Experience.[1]

Where it fits in the pack

The sources show one quest tied to this mod: "Super Experience Bee" quest in the Productive Bees chapter. It asks you to feed Superenchanting Template to an Experience Bee, and one of its listed tasks is the Block of Super Experience. So the mod links your Create experience setup with bee automation.[3]

Unverified The sources don't place this mod on the ATM Star quest path, and they don't say which of the project page's optional features (such as the Apotheosis integration or the Classic Blaze Enchanter) are active in version 2.4.2 in this pack. Check in game before you plan around them.

How do you get started with Create: Enchantment Industry?

5 parts

This mod is all about handling experience and enchanting inside Create. The order below gets you a supply of Liquid Experience first, then the machines that use it. It needs Create and Create: Dragons Plus to run.[1]

Step one: get Liquid Experience flowing

Liquid Experience is high-density experience that is easy to store and transport. Your first craft is the Mechanical Grindstone, a fully automated grindstone with an extra sanding function.[1]

Grinding turns a Block of Experience or a Nugget of Experience into Liquid Experience. The pack also lets it grind Ars Nouveau Experience Gems and Greater Experience Gems, and Mystical Agriculture Experience Droplets can be emptied into Liquid Experience. A vanilla experience bottle empties into Liquid Experience and gives you the glass bottle back.[4]

Step two: build your enchanting machines

Next is the Blaze Enchanter, which works like an enchanting table. Give it Liquid Experience to activate it, and set the enchant level on its panel before you enchant. The level cap of a vanilla enchanting table is 30.[5]

Step three: store experience and copy things

The Experience Hatch lets you store your own experience in a fluid tank and take it back out later.[1][5]

Step four: the Apotheosis machines

The Gem Cutter processes gems to their highest quality. The Infuser automates infusion. The Affix Augmentor automates affix upgrades. The Brass Bookshelf is a bookshelf with freely configurable stats.[1]

Watch out: The pack changed the recipes for all of these machines, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. Use the recipes below.[4]

Set the Affix Augmentor up carefully. It must sit on a horizontal Belt or Depot, and it needs a tank of Apotheotic Essence, with a Fluid Tank installed 2 blocks beneath it.[5]

In this pack you get Apotheotic Essence by dissolving Apotheosis materials of each rarity, from common up to mythic, in mixing recipes. Dissolving Gem Dust gives Crystal Essence.[4]

Step five: Super Experience, when you're ready

Pressing a Block of Super Experience makes a Super Enchanting Template.[4]

Pressing (create)

The quest "Super Experience Bee" quest has you feed that template to an Experience Bee, and one of its task items is a Block of Super Experience. It sits in the Productive Bees chapter, so come back to it once your bees are going.[3]

How does Create: Enchantment Industry work?

8 parts

Almost everything in this mod revolves around Liquid Experience. The project page describes it as high-density experience that is easy to store and transport, and the Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger are activated by giving them Liquid Experience.[1][5]

Getting Liquid Experience

The project page lists the Mechanical Grindstone as a fully automated grindstone with an extra sanding function, and one of the mod's advancements has you watch it disenchant an enchanted item. In the pack's recipes it also grinds experience items into Liquid Experience: Create's Nugget and Block of Experience, plus the Nugget and Block of Super Experience.[1][4][5]

This pack changes the grinding recipes so that Ars Nouveau's Experience Gem and Greater Experience Gem turn into Liquid Experience. It also changes an emptying recipe so that Mystical Agriculture's Experience Droplet empties into Liquid Experience. A vanilla bottle o' enchanting empties into Liquid Experience and a glass bottle.[4]

The project page lists two tweaks for Deployers. Kills made by a Deployer or a Crushing Wheel drop experience nuggets, and a Deployer benefits from a sword with Sweeping Edge.[1]

Moving experience in and out

The Experience Hatch lets you interact with a fluid tank directly using your own experience. You can store experience in it or take some back out.[1][5]

The project page lists the Experience Lantern as something that absorbs experience and also works on contraptions.[1]

Crafting Shaped

Items enchanted with Mending can be repaired on a belt using a Spout and Liquid Experience.[1]

Watch out: Breaking a Fluid Pipe leaks the experience inside it, and you can end up bathing in it. Keep that in mind when you work around live experience lines.[5]

Blaze Enchanter

The in-game Ponder scene introduces the Blaze Enchanter as something that functions like an enchanting table. You give it Liquid Experience to activate it. Before enchanting you set the enchant level on its panel, and the level cap of a vanilla enchanting table is 30.[5]

The panel is also a filter slot. Right-click it with an item to designate that item as a template, which is called Template Enchanting Mode. In this mode the enchanter is used to produce only enchantments supported by the template item. The Ponder scene says that if you give it a blank Enchanting Template, those enchantments will be added to it.[5]

Material matters too. According to the Ponder scene, golden chest armor has better enchantability than diamond chest armor, so it produces relatively better enchantments. A higher level is not always better, because some enchantments will not appear when the level is too high.[5]

Super Enchanting

The Blaze Enchanter has two "stomachs". Feed it a Cake o' Enchanting and it begins seething, which is known as Super Enchanting mode. The second tank cannot be piped in for Liquid Experience, so an eligible Super Experience item such as the cake must be used.[5]

In Super Enchanting mode the enchant level cap is significantly increased, and the enchanter can now produce Treasure Enchantments. In this mode it exclusively processes Super Enchanting Templates.[5]

Watch out: Super Enchanting can cause lightning strikes, so place a Lightning Rod nearby. You can cover the Blaze Enchanter with a block to avoid the lightning, but then a curse may appear.[5]

Making the cake starts with the Cake Base o' Enchanting, and in this pack that recipe is changed from the mod's default. Then a filling recipe combines the base with Liquid Experience to give the cake. You can cut the finished cake into Cake Slice o' Enchanting, and the pack also changes a Farmer's Delight knife version of that cut.[4]

Blaze Forger

The Blaze Forger works like an anvil and also needs Liquid Experience to activate. It merges enchantments on the same item like an anvil does, but with no Repair Cost. It can also merge Enchanting Templates and apply them to items.[5]

It can strip enchantments from equipment, a book or an Enchanting Template and move them onto a blank Enchanting Template. Like the enchanter, it has two stomachs and enters Super Enchanting mode when you feed it a Cake o' Enchanting.[5]

Automating the Blazes

Both the Blaze Enchanter and the Blaze Forger can be automated with a Mechanical Arm. The arm can insert the item to process and feed the experience fuel. On the enchanter it can also extract the enchanted item and any invalid item, and on the forger it extracts the forged item.[5]

Printer

The Printer copies written books, enchanted books, name tags, train schedules and more. It can also rename an item, and it can change a package's pattern or address.[1][5]

Apotheosis integration machines

These machines belong to the mod's Apotheosis series integration. The Ponder scene says the Affix Augmentor can upgrade the affixes of equipment automatically, like the Augmenting Table does by hand. It must be installed on a horizontal Belt or Depot. It requires a tank of Apotheotic Essence, and the Fluid Tank must be installed 2 blocks beneath it. The pack changes its recipe.[1][4][5]

How do you progress through Create: Enchantment Industry?

4 parts

The pack's quest book gives this mod very little direction. The only quest I can confirm is "Super Experience Bee" quest, so the tiers below are my own grouping of the in-pack recipes, not an official ladder.[3][4]

First steps: Create-level basics

The Mechanical Grindstone and the Printer both use the mod's default recipes. The pack has not changed either one.[4]

Grinding Create experience blocks and nuggets gives you Liquid Experience. You can also get it by emptying experience bottles. The pack changes the routes from Mystical Agriculture's Experience Droplet and from Ars Nouveau's Experience Gem and Greater Experience Gem.[4]

Next: Blaze machines and templates

Next come the Blaze Enchanter and the Blaze Forger. Both are smithing upgrades with the mod's default recipes, so the pack has not changed them.[4]

Pressing a Create experience block gives you an Enchanting Template. The Experience Lantern and Experience Hatch also use default mod recipes.[4]

The pack changes the compacting recipe for the Cake Base o' Enchanting, which leads into the Cake o' Enchanting and its Cake Slice o' Enchanting. The pack also changes a Farmer's Delight knife-cutting version of the slice recipe.[4]

Then: Apotheosis-gated machines

This is where the pack steps in. It changes the recipes for the Gem Cutter, the Infuser, the Affix Augmentor, the Ender Woven Bag and the Brass Bookshelf. Several of them are built around Apotheosis or Apothic Enchanting items.[4]

The pack also changes the mixing recipes that dissolve Apotheosis materials. Materials of the common, uncommon, rare, epic and mythic rarities all become Apotheotic Essence. Gem Dust becomes Crystal Essence.[4]

For Infused Dragon's Breath, the pack changes the infusing recipe that starts from Create Dragons Plus dragon breath. It also changes the emptying recipe for Apothic Enchanting's infused breath.[4]

Top tier: Super Experience

The end of the chain is Super Experience. Grinding either the Nugget of Super Experience or the Block of Super Experience gives Liquid Experience. Pressing a Block of Super Experience makes a Super Enchanting Template.[4]

The one quest tied to this mod is "Super Experience Bee" quest in the Productive Bees chapter. It asks you to feed a Superenchanting Template to an Experience Bee. Its tasks are to hand in a configurable honeycomb, comb, spawn egg, bee cage or sturdy bee cage, plus a Block of Super Experience. It unlocks after an earlier quest in that chapter.[3]

The pack also changes a Productive Bees mixing recipe that outputs a Nugget of Super Experience.[4]

How does Create: Enchantment Industry work with other mods?

5 parts

Create: Enchantment Industry needs Create and Create: Dragons Plus to run. In this pack it also plugs into Apotheosis and Apothic Enchanting, Ars Nouveau, Mystical Agriculture, Productive Bees and Integrated Dynamics. Many of these links are recipes the pack has changed, so don't assume the standalone mod's recipes apply.[1][4]

Create Dragons Plus

Dragons Plus is the closest partner. The Experience Hatch comes from an item application recipe that uses a Fluid Hatch from that mod.[4]

Item Application (create)

Apotheosis and Apothic Enchanting

This is the biggest integration, and the pack changed most of these recipes. The mod's own page lists the Apotheosis-series features as Bulk Salvaging, Brass Bookshelf, Crafting Bookshelf, Infuser, Gem Cutter and Affix Augmentor.[1][4]

Create mixing recipes, all changed by the pack, dissolve Apotheosis materials of the common, uncommon, rare, epic and mythic tiers into Apotheotic Essence. A separate mixing recipe turns Gem Dust into Crystal Essence.[4]

The pack also adds filling and emptying recipes that convert between Apothic Enchanting's bottled Infused Dragon's Breath and this mod's Infused Dragon's Breath. The bottled form returns a Glass Bottle when emptied.[4]

Other sources of Liquid Experience

The pack lets you turn items from other mods into Liquid Experience. Grinding an Experience Gem or a Greater Experience Gem gives Liquid Experience, and the pack changed both recipes. Emptying a Mystical Agriculture Experience Droplet also gives Liquid Experience, again a pack-changed recipe.[4]

Productive Bees

The pack changed the Productive Bees conversion that turns the Super Enchanting Template into the Super Experience bee. The quest "Super Experience Bee" quest covers this: you feed the template to an Experience Bee. Its tasks accept one of several Productive Bees items, such as a bee cage, plus a Block of Super Experience.[3][4]

Integrated Dynamics

The pack adds two Integrated Dynamics recipes, one for the drying basin and one for the mechanical drying basin. Both involve a Block of Experience and Liquid Experience.[4]

Unverified The recipe dump doesn't show what these two Integrated Dynamics recipes output, so what they produce is unconfirmed.

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Create: Enchantment Industry?

1 part

In this pack, this mod shows up in the Productive Bees quest chapter, through the quest "Super Experience Bee" quest. It ties Create: Enchantment Industry into bee breeding, which is a fun crossover.[3]

Super Experience Bee

The quest "Super Experience Bee" quest asks you to feed Superenchanting Template to an Experience Bee.[3]

Its tasks are item checks. The first accepts any of these Productive Bees items: Honeycomb, Comb Block, Spawn Egg Configurable Bee, Bee Cage or Sturdy Bee Cage. The other task is the Block of Super Experience.[3]

For order, this quest comes after quest a quest in "Productive Bees" in the same chapter, so finish that one first.[3]

Which Create: Enchantment Industry config options matter?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.47 guide

There isn't much config detail to share for this mod yet. The project page describes the mod's features but doesn't list its config options, their defaults, or how to change them.[1]

One thing worth knowing: the page calls the Classic Blaze Enchanter, the old Blaze Enchanter from v1.0, an optional feature. That suggests it's something you can switch on or off rather than something that's always there.[1]

Unverified We couldn't check how this pack sets any of this mod's config options, including whether the Classic Blaze Enchanter is enabled or whether any values differ from the mod's defaults. The pack's config files for this mod weren't available to review.

What changed in Create: Enchantment Industry between versions?

4 parts

This pack ships Create: Enchantment Industry 2.4.2, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier. Below are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs, newest first. Not every release is covered.[2]

2.4.2 (the version in this pack)

  • Added Copper Age Backport compat.[6]
  • The TML compat config is now independent.[6]
  • Fixed inappropriate class loading.[6]

2.3.0

This was an update for Create 6.0.9. It added compat for Touhou Little Maid and fixed a batch of bugs.[7]

  • Fixed a glitchy animation and a crash when rotating the Blaze Enchanter.[7]
  • Fixed breaking Printers destroying any EXP inside them.[7]
  • Fixed EXP not being required during forging in certain situations.[7]
  • Fixed the Sweeping Edge enchantment on a deployer doing extremely low damage to non-main targets.[7]

2.2.x releases

  • 2.2.5b fixed a crashing EXP item giving no EXP liquid.[8]
  • 2.2.3 required Create: Dragon Plus 1.8.1. It added a compacting recipe for infested stone and a crushing recipe for infested cobblestone, and fixed the spout using too much EXP when mending.[9]
  • 2.2.2 added the "can be processed by Mechanical Grindstone" item attribute and fixed the Grindstone Drain not processing recipes that contain no EXP. It also added a Brazilian Portuguese translation, and 2.2.2b updated the French one.[10][11]
  • 2.2.0 let the Printer print Banner Patterns, added a config for Grindstone Drain capacity, and added support for the XP fluid from Just Dire Things. Pick-blocking a Grindstone Drain now gives the Item Drain.[12]

2.2.0 also fixed a lot of problems. Several were Printer bugs: a false "Incorrect Liquid" message, only one unit of ink being used when naming multiple items, and spam when naming. Spout mending now consumes EXP, and a Mechanical Grindstone no longer crashes the server when a grinding recipe produces no EXP. Schematicannon could also produce Printers with illegal components in certain situations, and that is fixed too.[12]

2.1.7

This release fixed a JEI plugin load issue.[13]
