AllTheOres is a mod in All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.1.0, where it is version 3.2.0. Commonly found modded ores in one easy spot!. Brought to you by AllTheMods! (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is AllTheOres?

2 parts

This pack ships AllTheOres 3.2.0 for NeoForge 1.21.1. It supplies a lot of the metals and materials you'll keep running into, such as nickel, silver, steel, sulfur and fluorite. You won't build much with it on its own. Mostly you'll collect its items and carry them into other mods' machines, rituals and quests.[1][2][3][4]

Where it shows up on the ATM Star path

A few of the ATM Star path quests ask for AllTheOres items early on. Here's where they appear:[2][3][4]

Metals for Productive Bees

The Productive Bees chapter has a quest for each metal bee. Each one asks for a bee item plus the matching block, for example Steel Block, Silver Block or Fluorite Block. Alloy bees like Steel, Bronze and Brass are made by putting the molten metal over a spawn egg of the right parent bee. Other bees, like Tin, are bred instead. "Tin Bee" quest covers that one: you breed a Crystalline Bee with an Ashy Mining Bee.[5]

Unverified This section doesn't cover which ores generate in which dimensions, the mod's config options, or its in-pack recipes. None of that was in the sources available for this guide.

How do you get started with AllTheOres?

6 parts

AllTheOres adds a big set of metals and alloys to this pack. The order below is what I'd do first: find the base ores, make bronze and steel, then branch into the other alloys.[6][7][8]

Find your base ores

Osmium, lead, nickel and silver all generate between Y -64 and Y 56. Zinc goes up to Y 126, tin up to Y 196, and aluminum all the way up to Y 320, so you can find aluminum high up as well as deep down.[8]

Osmium is worth hunting early, because the Mekanism quest line treats it as the base crafting ingot for many machines. You'll need a lot of it. The quest is "Osmium" quest, and it asks for an Osmium Ingot.[7]

Make bronze

Bronze is a good first alloy to make. In this pack it is copper plus tin, and the pack changed the alloy recipes. The Immersive Engineering alloy recipe below makes Bronze Ingot, and the Ender IO alloy smelter has its own version. The quest is "Bronze Ingot" quest, and it comes after the Alloy Kiln quest in the Immersive Engineering chapter.[6][9]

Get steel

Steel Ingot is the one to prioritise. The Immersive Engineering quest says almost everything there needs steel, and the Mekanism quest says it goes into machines, tools, upgrades, reactors and energy cells. Both quests say you'll need a lot of it. The quests are "Steel Ingot" quest and "Steel" quest.[6][7]

The pack changed the alloy recipes for steel too. Both the Immersive Engineering and Ender IO versions combine an iron ingot with any coal-type item.[9]

Mekanism has its own steel route through the Metallurgic Infuser. You add 10mB of carbon to an iron ingot or dust to get enriched iron, repeat the step to get steel dust, then smelt the dust into an ingot.[7]

Craft rods with a hammer

The hammer crafting recipes below give you Iron Rod, Aluminum Rod and Steel Rod. The pack also changed the Immersive Engineering Metal Press recipes for the iron and aluminum rods.[9]

Branch into the other alloys

Once bronze and steel are running, the rest follow the same pattern in the pack's alloy recipes. Their quests sit after the Alloy Kiln quest in the Immersive Engineering chapter.[6][9]

Sulfur

Sulfur ore generates between Y -64 and Y 25. If you'd rather not mine for it, the pack adds Ex Deorum sieve recipes that give sulfur from dust with iron, golden, diamond or netherite mesh. The pack also changed the Immersive Engineering crusher recipe for sulfur ore.[8][9]

Tip: If you end up with compressed metal blocks, the pack has decompress recipes that turn a 1x compressed block back into the normal block, for example for steel and bronze.[9]

How does AllTheOres work?

3 parts

Here's the honest picture for this section: the sources I have for AllTheOres don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power systems or automation. What they do confirm is where the ores generate, the slurry chemicals the mod adds, and how the pack handles the mod's storage blocks. That's what this section covers.[8][9]

Ore depth ranges

Every ore block in the mod has a tooltip that tells you its height range in the world. The stone, deepslate, Nether, End and "other" variants of an ore all show the same range. Every range starts at Y -64 and only the upper limit changes.[8]

  • Aluminum: up to Y 320. Sapphire: up to Y 296.[8]
  • Cinnabar, fluorite, ruby and salt: up to Y 228.[8]
  • Peridot and tin: up to Y 196. Zinc: up to Y 126.[8]
  • Lead, nickel, osmium and silver: up to Y 56.[8]
  • Platinum: up to Y 36. Iridium: up to Y 32.[8]
  • Sulfur: up to Y 25. Uranium: up to Y 16, the lowest ceiling of all.[8]
Tip: If you're hunting uranium, iridium or sulfur, head deep. Their ranges top out at Y 16, Y 32 and Y 25. Aluminum and sapphire reach much higher, up to Y 320 and Y 296.[8]

Slurries

The mod registers dirty and clean slurry chemicals for aluminum, iridium, platinum and uranium. That gives you Dirty and Clean Aluminum Slurry, Dirty and Clean Iridium Slurry, Dirty and Clean Platinum Slurry, and Dirty and Clean Uranium Slurry.[8]

Blocks and the pack's changes

The mod has storage blocks for metals, alloys and gems, such as Bronze Block, Invar Block, Electrum Block and Ruby Block. It also has raw ore blocks such as Raw Osmium Block and Raw Uranium Block.[9]

The pack has changed the recipes that produce these blocks. They are shapeless crafting recipes that turn a compressed 1x block back into the matching AllTheOres block, and they exist for both finished blocks and raw ore blocks. Here is one example.[9]

9× Aluminum BlockChanged by the pack

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: allthecompressed:decompress/aluminum_block_1x

Changed by the pack. The other metal, gem and raw blocks follow the same pattern.

Tip: The recipe dump I have is truncated, so I can't confirm every recipe that makes AllTheOres items. If you can't find a recipe for something, look it up in your recipe viewer in-game.[9]

How do you progress through AllTheOres?

6 parts

The pack's quest chapters pull you through the AllTheOres metals in a fairly clear order: hammered dusts and bronze first, then the alloys and steel, then Mekanism ore processing and reactor fuel, and finally the bee-based metals.[5][6][7][10][11]

Early game: dusts and bronze

The Steam Age chapter starts you off with the Forge Hammer, which crushes copper and tin into Copper Dust and Tin Dust. The next quest, "&#EDD653Bronze" quest, calls bronze the building block of the Steam Age and tells you to cook the Bronze Dust to get Bronze Ingot.[10]

Ore hammers also give you Iron Dust from iron ore, raw iron or ingots, and Gold Dust the same way. Silver Dust is hammered from silver ingots, and fluorite ore becomes Fluorite with a hammer.[9]

Alloys

The Immersive Engineering chapter gives each alloy its own ingot quest after the Alloy Kiln: "Bronze Ingot" quest, "Constantan Ingot" quest, "Brass Ingot" quest, "Invar Ingot" quest and "Electrum Ingot" quest. The quests say Electrum is used a ton in everything electricity related, including wires, connectors and transformers, and that Constantan is used quite a bit in machines or items using heat and metal, like generators. Bronze, Brass and Invar get little use in Immersive Engineering itself, and the quest notes that bronze is used a ton in Modern Industrialization.[6]

The pack has changed the alloy recipes for the Immersive Engineering alloy smelter, the Ender IO alloy smelter and the Arc Furnace. Check the in-pack versions below rather than relying on mod defaults.[9]

Steel

Steel Ingot is the real gate. The Immersive Engineering quest "Steel Ingot" quest says almost everything there needs steel, and that the Crude Blast Furnace and Alloy Kiln can't be automated. The pack's alloy smelter recipe is below.[6][9]

Steel IngotChanged by the pack

Alloy (immersiveengineering)

  • any iron ingot
  • any coal

Recipe id: alltheores:alloysmelter/steel/ingot

In Mekanism you take a different route, covered by "Steel" quest and "Mekanism" quest. You infuse iron with carbon from coal or charcoal, 10mB at a time, to get Enriched Iron. Then you infuse it again to get steel dust, and smelt that into an ingot.[7][12]

Tip: Steel Blocks show up in the multiblock quests: "Arc Furnace" quest for the Arc Furnace and "Excavator" quest for the Excavator. Stock up on Steel Block before you start either one.[6]

The Arc Furnace needs power and Graphite Electrodes, which can only be placed in its GUI, and the quest says it can also make alloys. In this pack it also turns plates and gears into ingots for the alloys and steel, and raw materials into ingots for nickel, osmium, silver and uranium.[6][9]

Mekanism ore processing and reactors

Osmium Ingot is Mekanism's base crafting ingot, and the quest says its ore spawns below Y level 56. The next big step is "Creating Sulfuric Acid" quest, labelled Tier 4 Ore Processing, which needs Sulfur. The reactor chapter continues from there, using Fluorite in "Sulfur Trioxide into Hydrofluoric Acid" quest on the way to Hydrofluoric Acid.[2][7]

The pack adds sieve recipes for both of those, using Ex Deorum meshes: sand gives fluorite and dust gives sulfur. Iron, golden, diamond and netherite meshes all have a recipe for each.[9]

For reactor fuel, Uranium Ingot is the key item in the Extreme Reactors chapter, starting with "Welcome to Extreme Reactors!" quest.[11]

Late game: metals from bees

The Productive Bees chapter has a quest for nearly every metal, and each one asks for a bee item plus that metal's block. Some are bred from other bees. "Tin Bee" quest is a Crystalline Bee crossed with an Ashy Mining Bee. The alloy and high-tier bees use molten metal on a spawn egg, as in "Steel Bee" quest, "Lumium Bee" quest, "Signalum Bee" quest and "Enderium Bee" quest. Those four need Steel Block, Lumium Block, Signalum Block and Enderium Block.[5]

Other quest chains that use these metals

How does AllTheOres work with other mods?

6 parts

Several other mods in this pack hook into AllTheOres. The recipes and quests below show where: Mekanism processing, Ex Deorum sieving, Functional Storage compacting, All the Compressed storage blocks, and quest chapters for Productive Bees and Immersive Engineering.[5][6][9]

Mekanism ore processing

The pack changes the AllTheOres processing recipes so they run through Mekanism machines and chemicals. Purifying with Liquid Oxygen turns ores, raw materials, raw blocks or shards into clumps, such as Aluminum Clump, Iridium Clump and Nickel Clump.[9]

Injecting with Liquid Hydrogen Chloride turns ores, raw materials, raw blocks or crystals into shards, such as Aluminum Shard, Iridium Shard and Nickel Shard.[9]

Dissolution with Liquid Sulfuric Acid produces dirty slurries. The recipes shown cover aluminum, copper, gold, iridium, iron and lead, so AllTheOres also defines slurry recipes for copper, gold and iron.[9]

Ex Deorum sieving

The pack adds Ex Deorum sieve recipes that give you Salt, Sulfur and Fluorite. Salt and sulfur come from Dust, and fluorite comes from sand. Each of them works with the iron, golden, diamond and netherite meshes.[9]

Ore chunks and Functional Storage

The pack also adds Functional Storage custom compacting recipes that link Ex Deorum ore chunks to AllTheOres ores. They exist for aluminum, lead, nickel, osmium, platinum, silver, tin, uranium and zinc, for example Tin Ore Chunk with Tin Ore.[9]

All the Compressed blocks

The pack changes the All the Compressed recipes for AllTheOres blocks. Each decompress recipe turns a 1x block back into the normal AllTheOres block, for example Steel Block 1x into Steel Block. These cover ingot, gem and raw blocks, including Raw Uranium Block 1x and Peridot Block 1x. Salt is the one with a compress recipe in the sources.[9]

Productive Bees quests

The Productive Bees quest chapter asks for a bee item (comb, spawn egg or cage) together with an AllTheOres block. That covers the aluminum, brass, bronze, constantan, electrum, enderium, fluorite, invar, lead, lumium, nickel, osmium, platinum, signalum, silver, steel, tin and zinc bees.[5]

Immersive Engineering quests

The Immersive Engineering chapter uses AllTheOres alloys as quest items. These are Electrum Ingot, Steel Ingot, Bronze Ingot, Constantan Ingot, Brass Ingot and Invar Ingot. The quest text says electrum is used a lot in wires, connectors and transformers, and that almost everything in Immersive Engineering needs steel. It also notes that constantan is used in machines and heat-based items like generators, while brass, invar and bronze see little use there.[6]

The Warm Items quest accepts a lava bucket, a magma block or Uranium Block. Its text lists Magma at 1,300 K, Lava at 1,300 K and Uranium at 2,000 K.[6]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use AllTheOres?

5 parts

AllTheOres items show up as hand-in tasks in many quest chapters in this pack. Most of them just ask you to have an ingot, dust or block in your inventory, and the chapter's own mod explains how to get it. Here are the chapters that ask for them, with the order of the quests inside each chapter.[2][3][4][5][6][7][10][11][12][13][14]

Early game

In Chapter 1, "Easy Ore Duping" quest unlocks after Ore Chunks. It wants an Integrated Dynamics squeezer and a Copper Ore Hammer. The squeezer turns Raw Ore Blocks into Raw Ore, and ore hammers crack raw ores into 2 dust, which you smelt into ingots.[14]

In the Steam Age chapter, a quest in "Steam Age: New Beginnings" asks for Copper Dust and a quest in "Steam Age: New Beginnings" asks for Tin Dust. Both unlock after the Forge Hammer quest. Once you have both, "&#EDD653Bronze" quest asks for Bronze Dust, and cooking that dust gets you the Bronze Ingots the chapter uses further on. a quest in "Steam Age: New Beginnings" then asks for a Steel Ingot.[10]

In Chapter 2: The Cool Parts, "Iron Plates" quest unlocks after The Cool Parts. It asks for one of three hammers (the Modern Industrialization Forge Hammer, the Immersive Engineering Hammer or the Railcraft Manual Rolling Machine) plus an Iron Plate. The quest says it doesn't care which route you take. Later, "Mekanism" quest asks for a Steel Ingot after Making Steel, and the quest text says you are then ready to take on Mekanism.[12]

Mekanism

"Osmium" quest asks for an Osmium Ingot and unlocks after the chapter's Mekanism quest. The quest says osmium ore spawns below Y level 56. Next comes "Steel" quest after the Metallurgic Infuser, asking for a Steel Ingot. The quest explains that you infuse 10mB of carbon into an iron ingot or dust to make Enriched Iron, infuse it again to get Steel Dust, then smelt the dust.[7]

After the Machines quest, "Creating Sulfuric Acid" quest asks for Sulfur along with the machines for making sulfuric acid. "Mekanism: Reactors" quest also asks for sulfur, and it unlocks after the Chemical Infuser, Chemical Oxidizer, Chemical Dissolution Chamber, Enrichment Chamber and Rotary Condensentrator quests.[7]

The Mekanism: Reactors chapter picks up from there. "Mekanism: Reactors" quest asks for Sulfur plus a Chemical Oxidizer, Electrolytic Separator and Chemical Infuser, all to make Sulfur Trioxide. "Sulfur Trioxide into Hydrofluoric Acid" quest follows it and asks for Fluorite alongside a Rotary Condensentrator, Chemical Infuser and Chemical Dissolution Chamber. The quest says you get fluorite from mining ores.[2]

Immersive Engineering

Most of this chapter's ingot quests unlock after the Alloy Kiln quest, and each one asks for a single alloy ingot: "Electrum Ingot" quest for Electrum Ingot, "Bronze Ingot" quest for Bronze Ingot, "Constantan Ingot" quest for Constantan Ingot, "Brass Ingot" quest for Brass Ingot and "Invar Ingot" quest for Invar Ingot. "Steel Ingot" quest asks for Steel Ingot and needs both the Crude Blast Furnace and Alloy Kiln quests first.[6]

The multiblock quests also use AllTheOres items. "Excavator" quest (the Excavator) and "Arc Furnace" quest (the Arc Furnace) both list Steel Block among their tasks. For "Warm Items" quest, a Uranium Block is one of the accepted items, and the quest text gives it 2000 K, against 1300 K for magma and lava.[6]

"Railgun Ammo from IE" quest unlocks after Railgun. It accepts Steel Rod, Iron Rod or Aluminum Rod (or a graphite electrode or sawblade). The quest text lists these values: Aluminum Rod 10, Iron Rod 16, Steel Rod 24, Sawblade 12 and Graphite Electrode 30.[6]

Reactors, magic and Oritech

Extreme Reactors asks for Uranium Ingot in its own chapter. "Welcome to Extreme Reactors!" quest opens the chapter, and "Fueling our Passive Reactor" quest comes after Our First Reactor and covers feeding fuel into the reactor. In Basic Power, "Extreme Reactors: Reactors" quest also asks for a uranium ingot after Mid Game Power Options and sends you to the mod's own chapter.[11][13]

In Occultism, "Our First Ritual" quest asks for an Silver Ingot alongside a bound Foliot book and iron, gold and copper ingots. It comes after the Preparing for a Ritual quests for candles, books of binding, bowls and chalk. Further on, "Ophyx' Calling" quest follows the Lime Chalk quest and asks for Iron Dust, Silver Dust, Gold Dust and Copper Dust.[3]

In the Oritech chapter, "Oritech Beginnings" quest asks for a Nickel Ingot. Its subtitle says to find nickel ore to begin your journey.[4]

Productive Bees

This chapter has the most AllTheOres quests. All of its bee quests unlock after the same earlier quest. Each one asks for a bee item (a configurable honeycomb, comb, spawn egg, bee cage or sturdy bee cage) and the matching metal block.[5]
