What is GeOre?
2 parts
GeOre adds budding blocks that grow resource crystals, and in this pack it is the main way to automate resources. The pack ships GeOre 6.2.2 for Minecraft 1.21.1.[1][2]
If you've used Budding Amethyst or Certus, you already know the idea. Crystals grow out of any side of a budding GeOre block if there's room. The big difference is that you can pick the block up with a pickaxe, even without Silk Touch. Mine the crystals off, then smelt them to get your ingot. Any block that speeds up Amethyst growth also speeds up GeOres.[2]
Where it sits in the quest book
The "GeOre" quest quest in Chapter 2: The Cool Parts introduces the system with Budding Iron GeOre. It unlocks after another quest in the same chapter.[2]
GeOres come back in Chapter 3: AllTheModium as an alternative to bees. In "Budding ATM Metal GeOres" quest, which unlocks after the Soul Lava quest, you use the Foundry to pour 9 AllTheModium Ingots onto Sand, repeated 5 times, to make Budding Allthemodium GeOre. Vibranium and Unobtainium work the same way, giving you Budding Vibranium GeOre and Budding Unobtainium GeOre.[3]
The ATM Star path
Yes, the ATM Star path uses GeOre. The Uraninite quest in Chapter 3 is on it, and its text says the Vibranium Ingot needs an uncomfortable amount of GeOres. Most are simple: you cover Compressed Sand with the matching ore through the Foundry.[3]
"Uraninite GeOre" quest is the exception, and it unlocks after the Ender Crafter quest. You use the Ender Crafter to combine 4 Uraninite with a Budding Uranium GeOre, which gives you Budding Uraninite GeOre. You can get Uraninite by sieving Sand with a Diamond or Netherite Mesh.[3]
How do you get started with GeOre?
4 parts
GeOres are the main resource automation in this pack, and the quest "GeOre" quest in Chapter 2: The Cool Parts kicks things off. They work like Budding Amethyst or Certus: crystals grow out of any side of a budding GeOre if there is room. The big difference is that you can pick a budding GeOre up with a pickaxe, even without Silk Touch.[2]
Step 1: Make a Budding Iron GeOre
The first GeOre quest asks for Budding Iron GeOre. The pack adds a block casting recipe for it, shown below, and it accepts any molten iron.[2][4]

Sand 1x
- 810× any molten iron
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:kjs/4o25qbixo03idf2p91rc6t0a6

There is also an Oritech Assembler route that starts from an Iron GeOre Shard. The pack changed this recipe, so don't rely on what you remember from other modpacks.[4]
Assembler (oritech)

Step 2: Let it grow, then mine and smelt
Place the budding GeOre where crystals have room to grow on its sides. Mine the crystals off it and smelt them to get your ingots. Any block that speeds up Amethyst growth also speeds up GeOres, so you can borrow those tricks.[2]
Step 3: Craft a spyglass (optional)
GeOre types such as iron have their own spyglass, for example the Iron GeOre Spyglass. The pack changed these spyglass recipes, so check the one below instead of assuming the mod default.[4]

Later: the ATM metal GeOres
In Chapter 3: AllTheModium, the quest "Budding ATM Metal GeOres" quest comes after Soul Lava and covers Budding Allthemodium GeOre, Budding Vibranium GeOre and Budding Unobtainium GeOre. Using the Foundry, you pour 9 AllTheModium Ingots onto Sand 5x to make the Allthemodium one. Vibranium and Unobtainium work the same way with their own materials. The pack's casting recipes are below.[3][4]

Uraninite is the odd one out. The quest "Uraninite GeOre" quest comes after Ender Crafter in the same chapter, and you use the Ender Crafter to turn a Budding Uranium GeOre and 4 Uraninite into Budding Uraninite GeOre. You can sieve Sand with a Diamond or Netherite Mesh to get Uraninite.[3][4]

How does GeOre work?
4 parts
GeOre is a small mod, and the sources for this pack don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluid handling or automation for it. What they do cover is which geodes can generate, a piston toggle for budding GeOre, the spyglass overlay strength, and the crafting of the items made from shards.[4][5]
Geode generation
Each ore type has its own on/off generation option, and there is a separate group of settings for modded generation. By the mod's defaults these are on: coal, copper, diamond, emerald, gold, iron, lapis, redstone and quartz. Quartz also has its own option for generating in the Nether, which is on by default, and so is budding ancient debris.[5]
By the mod's defaults these are off: allthemodium, aluminum, black quartz, lead, monazite, nickel, osmium, platinum, ruby, sapphire, silver, tin, topaz, tungsten, unobtainium, uraninite, uranium, vibranium and zinc. Allthemodium GeOre Shard, Aluminum GeOre Shard and Black Quartz GeOre Shard all exist as items, but their geodes are not generated by default.[4][5]
Unverified These values are the mod's own defaults, taken from its option tooltips. The pack's actual GeOre settings live in the mod's config file, which the sources here do not show, so whether the pack changes any of them is unverified.
Budding GeOre and pistons
In vanilla, a piston push breaks a budding block. GeOre has an option that overrides this so budding GeOre is not broken when pushed. By the mod's default it is off, so the vanilla behaviour applies.[5]
Spyglass overlay
Each ore type has its own GeOre spyglass, such as the Diamond GeOre Spyglass. A single option controls the intensity of the spyglass color overlay. The mod's default is 0.5, which means 50%.[4][5]
Crafting the GeOre items
Shards are the base material. Each ore type's shard crafts into a block of that GeOre, into tinted glass and into a spyglass. The block and tinted glass recipes are the mod's own. The spyglass recipes are marked as changed by the pack, so don't rely on the mod's default spyglass recipe. Here is the copper set as an example:[4]
This block recipe is the mod's own recipe.

The other ore types, such as Iron Tinted Glass and Block Of Gold GeOre, follow the same pattern in the part of the recipe dump that is visible.[4]
How do you progress through GeOre?
3 parts
GeOres are the pack's main way to automate resources. The quests walk you through them in three steps: a starter Budding GeOre, a special Ender Crafter upgrade for Uraninite, and the three ATM metal Budding GeOres.[2][3]
Step 1: your first Budding GeOre
The "GeOre" quest quest in Chapter 2 asks you to get Budding Iron GeOre. They work like Budding Amethyst or Certus: crystals grow out of any side of the block if there is room. Unlike those, you can pick a Budding GeOre up with a pickaxe, even without Silk Touch.[2]
Mine the crystals off the budding block and smelt them to get your ingot. Any block that speeds up Amethyst growth will also speed up GeOres.[2]
In this pack, Budding Iron GeOre is made with a casting recipe that the pack added.[4]
Block Casting (productivemetalworks)
Sand 1x
- 810× any molten iron
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:kjs/4o25qbixo03idf2p91rc6t0a6
The pack has also changed an Oritech assembler recipe that makes the same block from an Iron GeOre Shard. It is an alternative route if you already have the shard.[4]
Assembler (oritech)
Recipe id: oritech:assembler/compat/geore/buddingiron
Step 2: Uraninite needs the Ender Crafter
In Chapter 3, the "Uraninite GeOre" quest quest unlocks after the Ender Crafter and asks for Budding Uraninite GeOre. The quest explains that the Vibranium Ingot needs an uncomfortable amount of GeOres. Most are simple, but Uraninite is the exception.[3]
You combine 4 Uraninite with a Budding Uranium GeOre in the Ender Crafter. The quest also tells you to Sieve Sand with a Diamond or Netherite Mesh to get Uraninite. This recipe was added by the pack.[3][4]

Step 3: the ATM metal GeOres
The "Budding ATM Metal GeOres" quest quest unlocks after Soul Lava. It asks for Budding Allthemodium GeOre, Budding Vibranium GeOre and Budding Unobtainium GeOre, and presents them as an alternative if you don't like bees.[3]
For Allthemodium, the quest tells you to use the Foundry to pour 9 AllTheModium Ingots onto Sand 5x. Vibranium and Unobtainium work the same way with their own materials. The pack's casting recipes for all three are below.[3][4]

How does GeOre work with other mods?
5 parts
GeOres plug into a lot of the pack's other mods. Shards smelt into AllTheOres items, machines from several mods crush them, and Budding GeOres can be made with Oritech, Productive Metalworks and the Ender Crafter. Everything below comes from in-pack recipes and quests.[3][4]
Smelting shards into AllTheOres items
Aluminum, lead, nickel, osmium, platinum, silver, tin, uranium and zinc shards smelt into their AllTheOres ingots. Ruby GeOre Shard and the sapphire shard smelt into AllTheOres gems, such as Ruby. Each of these shards has a furnace recipe and a blasting recipe, and the pack changed those recipes. Here is the zinc furnace one as an example:[4]
Zinc GeOre Shard smelts into Zinc Ingot.
The mining and smelting loop itself is explained in the GeOre quest "GeOre" quest. Crystals grow off a Budding GeOre like Budding Amethyst or Certus, and you smelt the mined crystals into ingots.[2]
Crushing Coal GeOre Shards
The pack adds a crushing recipe for Coal GeOre Shard in five different mods, so you can use whichever machine you already have:[4]
- Immersive Engineering's crusher gives Coal Dust.[4]
- Industrial Foregoing's crusher gives Coal Dust.[4]
- Mekanism's crushing gives Coal Dust.[4]
- Occultism's crushing gives Coal Dust.[4]
- Modern Industrialization's macerator gives its own Coal Dust instead.[4]
Oritech
Oritech's assembler can turn a GeOre shard into the matching Budding GeOre. The pack has a recipe for each shard type, from Coal and Iron up to Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium. Here is the Iron one as an example:[4]
Assembler (oritech)
Recipe id: oritech:assembler/compat/geore/buddingiron
Oritech machines also process GeOre items. Its grinder and pulverizer both turn Quartz GeOre Shard into Quartz Dust. Its laser turns a Uranium GeOre Cluster into Plutonium Dust.[4]
Productive Metalworks casting
Productive Metalworks can cast Budding GeOres. The pack adds block casting recipes that combine Sand 1x with a molten material. Any molten version of the metal or gem works for most of them, such as copper, iron, gold, diamond, emerald, lapis and ruby. That gives you the matching Budding GeOre, for example Budding Diamond GeOre.[4]
The three ATM metals are the exception. Budding Allthemodium GeOre, Budding Vibranium GeOre and Budding Unobtainium GeOre need Sand 5x plus their own molten metal, such as Molten Vibranium.[4]
The quest "Budding ATM Metal GeOres" quest describes using the Foundry to pour 9 ingots of the metal onto Sand 5x. It also calls this the alternative if you don't like bees.[3]
Ender Crafter recipes
The pack also adds several Extended Crafting Ender Crafter recipes that mix GeOres with other mods' items. The first one makes Flawless Budding Certus Quartz from a Budding Quartz GeOre, so GeOres feed into Applied Energistics 2.[4]

Uraninite is the odd one out. You make Budding Uraninite GeOre with the Ender Crafter, starting from a Budding Uranium GeOre and Powah's Uraninite. The quest "Uraninite GeOre" quest says to use 4 Uraninite and notes you can get it by sieving Sand with a Diamond or Netherite Mesh.[3][4]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use GeOre?
2 parts
GeOre shows up in two quest chapters of the pack. Chapter 2 introduces the basic idea, and Chapter 3 asks you to build the bigger GeOres. Here they are in the order you will meet them.[2][3]
Chapter 2: The Cool Parts
The quest "GeOre" quest is where it starts, and its task is to obtain Budding Iron GeOre. It unlocks after an earlier quest in the same chapter, and the sources only give that quest's ID, not its name.[2]
The quest calls GeOres the main automation for resources in this pack. They work like Budding Amethyst or Certus, so crystals grow out of any side with room. Unlike those, you can pick a GeOre up with a pickaxe, even without Silk Touch. Mine the crystals off, smelt them to get your ingot, and know that any block that speeds up Amethyst also speeds up GeOres.[2]
Chapter 3: AllTheModium
Chapter 3 has a pair of GeOre quests that each unlock after a different earlier quest. The sources do not say which of them you are meant to do first.[3]
- "Uraninite GeOre" quest comes after the Ender Crafter quest, and its task is to obtain Budding Uraninite GeOre. The quest explains that the Vibranium Ingot needs a lot of GeOres. Most are made by covering Compressed Sand with the matching ore through the Foundry, but Uraninite is different: you use the Ender Crafter to combine 4 Uraninite with a Budding Uranium GeOre. It also tells you that sieving Sand with a Diamond or Netherite Mesh gets you Uraninite.[3]
- "Budding ATM Metal GeOres" quest comes after the Soul Lava quest. Its tasks are Budding Allthemodium GeOre, Budding Vibranium GeOre and Budding Unobtainium GeOre. The quest pitches these as an alternative if you don't like bees. You use the Foundry to pour 9 AllTheModium Ingots onto Sand, repeated 5 times, to create a Budding Allthemodium GeOre. Vibranium and Unobtainium work the same way, pouring their own materials instead.[3]
