What is Ender IO?
1 part
Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod. It adds armor, tools, weapons, machines, conduits, inventory management and mobs. Its conduit types are Item, Fluid, Energy and Redstone, plus Applied Energistics 2 ME, Refined Storage and Mekanism Chemicals.[1]
This pack runs Ender IO 6.2.18-beta for Minecraft 1.20.1.[2]
Where it sits in the quest book
Ender IO has its own chapter, "EnderIO", in the "Production" group. It is chapter 39 of 44 in the book and holds 78 quests. Every quest asks you to obtain a single item, so the chapter works like a checklist of the mod's content.[3]
Inside the chapter, quests unlock in chains. These are the main ones:[3]
- Machines: a quest in "EnderIO" (flint and steel) leads to a quest in "EnderIO", then to a quest in "EnderIO". After the Void Chassis you unlock the Crafter, Wired Charger, Painting Machine, SAG Mill, Impulse Hopper, Drain, Stirling Generator and Alloy Smelter.[3]
- Soul machines: a quest in "EnderIO" leads to the Slice'N'Splice, the Powered Spawner and the Soul Engine.[3]
- Energy conduits: the chain starts at the Conductive Alloy Energy Conduit and runs through the Energetic Alloy, Vibrant Alloy, End Steel, Lumium and Enderium conduits. It then continues to the Sculk Superconductor Conduit and ends at the plain Energy Conduit.[3]
- Capacitors: the Basic Capacitor leads to the Double Layer Capacitor, then the Octadic Capacitor. After that come several custom_capacitors entries, ending at the ultimate capacitor.[3]
- Redstone filters: the Redstone Filter Base quest comes before every other redstone filter quest, such as the AND, OR, NOT, timer and counting filters.[3]
The Alloy Smelter and Primitive Alloy Smelter also show up in the "Smelters" chapter. That chapter is in the same "Production" group, at chapter 42 of 44, and has 41 quests. 8 of those quests are not covered here, so check the quest book for the rest.[4]
Unverified Whether the ATM Star quest path uses Ender IO is not shown by the sources here. Check the pack's quest book for that.
How do you get started with Ender IO?
4 parts
Ender IO has its own chapter in the pack's quest book: "EnderIO", in the Production group, chapter 39 of 44, with 78 quests. Here is a sensible order to work through the first items.[3]
Start with Grains of Infinity
The quest chain begins with a quest in "EnderIO", and the next quest after it is a quest in "EnderIO" for Grains of Infinity. The a quest in "EnderIO" quest comes after the grains, and most of the machine quests hang off it. So the grains are the first Ender IO material the quest book asks you for.[3]
The pack adds a sieve recipe that gives you the grains from Dust. There is also a Mystical Agriculture essence recipe that gives 8 at once.[5]
Sieve (exdeorum)

Fire can drop them too. In this pack grainsOfInfinity.fireMinAge is 260, which is how many ticks old a fire must be before it can spawn them. grainsOfInfinity.makesSound is true, so the drop makes a sound.[6]
Capacitors and capacitor banks
Next is the Basic Capacitor, which starts a quest line that runs to the Double Layer Capacitor and then the Octadic Capacitor.[3]

Your first machines
Once you reach the Void Chassis quest, these quests all unlock after it:[3]
- Alloy Smelter: capacity 64,000 and base usage 20 uI/t in this pack. The Smelters chapter also has a quest for it, and one for the Primitive Alloy Smelter.[3][4][7]
- SAG Mill: capacity 64,000 and base usage 20 uI/t.[3][7]
- Stirling Generator: base generation of 40 uI/t and capacity 64,000 in this pack.[3][7]
- Crafter, Wired Charger, Painting Machine, Impulse Hopper and Drain unlock from the same quest. Come back to them once the basics are running.[3]
Conductive alloy and conduits
The conduit line starts with a quest in "EnderIO", the Conductive Alloy Energy Conduit. It continues through the Energetic and Vibrant conduits. Conductive Alloy Ingots are also what you use to upgrade the Tier 1 Extraction Speed Upgrade into Tier 2.[3][5]
The pack changed the NuclearCraft alloy smelter recipe for the ingot. Here is the pack's version:[5]

How does Ender IO work?
8 parts
Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod with machines, conduits, armor, tools and more. This pack tunes the machines through its config files, so the numbers below are the ones you will actually see in-game.[1][7]
Power: storage and generation
The machine configs measure energy in uI, and consumption is given in uI per tick. Capacitor banks are your main storage. In this pack a Basic bank holds 500,000, an Advanced bank 2,000,000 and a Vibrant bank 4,000,000. Those are set in energy.capacitor_bank_capacity.basic, energy.capacitor_bank_capacity.advanced and energy.capacitor_bank_capacity.vibrant.[7]
Here is how the Advanced Capacitor Bank is crafted in this pack. The pack also adds Actually Additions empowering recipes for the Double Layer Capacitor and the Octadic Capacitor.[5][8]

For generation, the Stirling Generator is configured to produce 40 uI/t as a base and to hold 64,000. Its burn speed is 0.375 burn ticks per machine tick. Fuel efficiency starts at 80 percent and rises by 20 per capacitor level. The Soul Engine holds 100,000 and has a burn speed of 1.[7]
The photovoltaic cell rates are production rates at midday without rain or thunder. The Energetic module is set to 4, the Pulsating module to 16 and the Vibrant module to 64.[7]
Machine power budgets
Every machine has its own buffer and its own draw. Here are the ones the pack's config spells out:[7]
- Alloy Smelter: 64,000 buffer and 20 uI/t. It spends 1,500 per vanilla smelting item.[7]
- SAG Mill: 64,000 buffer and 20 uI/t, set by energy.sagMill.capacity and energy.sagMill.usage.[7]
- Slicer: 100,000 buffer and 30 uI/t.[7]
- Soul Binder: 128,000 buffer and 60 uI/t.[7]
- Painting Machine: 64,000 buffer and 30 uI/t, with 2,400 per painting operation.[7]
- Crafter: 64,000 buffer, and each crafting recipe costs 3,200.[7]
- Impulse Hopper: 64,000 buffer and 16 uI/t. Drain and Aversion Obelisk: 64,000 buffer and 10 uI/t each.[7]
- Wired Charger: 128,000 buffer and 30 uI/t.[7]
Processing with the SAG Mill
The pack rewrites the basic SAG Mill chain, and every one of these recipes costs 2,400 energy. Stone gives cobblestone with a chance of 0.5. Cobblestone gives gravel with a chance of 0.5. Gravel gives sand with a chance of 0.5 and flint with a chance of 0.1. Sandstone gives 2 sand with a chance of 1.0.[9][10][11][12]
Sand gives an item from the silicon tag with a chance of 0.5. That recipe only loads when the silicon tag has something in it.[13]
Sag Milling (enderio)
Recipe id: enderio:sag_milling/cactus
A plant example: milling a cactus gives both plant matter types.
Alloy Smelter
The Alloy Smelter also works as a glass-maker. It turns ordinary glass into Clear Glass, and a second recipe makes Dark Clear Glass from that.[5]
Alloy Smelting (enderio)
Clear Glass
- 4× any amethyst gem
Recipe id: enderio:alloy_smelting/clear_glass_d_from_base
The pack adds three Alloy Smelter recipes of its own, each costing 10,000 energy. One makes a crystalline alloy, one smelts azure silver ore into an ingot, and one makes Thermal's steel ingot.[14]
Painting, soul binding and soul vials
The Painting Machine makes painted versions of blocks. The Painted Crafting Table has one recipe from a plain crafting table, and a second recipe starts from an already painted one.[5]
Painting (enderio)
Recipe id: enderio:painting/painted_crafting_table
The Soul Binder is how you get the Animal Token in this pack, starting from a Soularium Grinding Ball.[5]
The pack also adds shapeless recipes that turn special dummy items into filled soul vials for a witch, an enderman, a shulker, a villager and a zombie.[15]
Powered Spawner
The Powered Spawner holds 100,000 and draws 20 uI/t. The pack sets it to spawn 4 mobs per cycle. Its spawn type is ENTITYTYPE, which spawns the same entity types as the soul vial. The other option, COPY, spawns an exact copy of the mob in the vial. It switches off when 2 entities are in range, and efficiency drops once you go past 10 spawners.[7]
Conduits, filters and automation
Ender IO moves things through conduits. The mod lists item, fluid, energy and redstone conduits. It also has Applied Energistics 2 ME, Refined Storage and Mekanism chemical conduits.[1]
The pack has a recipe for the crafting material Conduit Binder Composite, which makes 8 at a time.[5]
Crafting Shaped
| any gravel | any gravel | |
| any sand | any gravel | any sand |
| any gravel | any gravel |
Recipe id: enderio:conduit_binder_composite
For fine control you have filters and upgrades. The Basic Fluid Filter is the fluid filter and the Advanced Item Filter is the item filter. A Tier 1 extraction speed upgrade can be upgraded to Tier 2, as shown below.[5]
Crafting Shapeless

Travel and the Enchanter
The travelling items are limited by these settings: a blink range of 24, a block to block range of 96 and an item to block range of 192. Their energy use is set to 1,000 and their max energy to 100,000.[6]
The Enchanter adds a base level cost of 2 to every recipe. Its lapis cost is the enchant level times 3, and final XP costs are multiplied by 0.75.[7]
How do you progress through Ender IO?
6 parts
Ender IO lives in the Production group of the quest book, in the chapter "EnderIO". It is not one straight line. It is a handful of short ladders that you climb side by side: machines, alloys, capacitors, conduits and upgrades.[3]
Machines first
The quest book's machine ladder starts at a Flint and Steel quest, which leads to a quest for Grains of Infinity and then one for Void Chassis. After the Void Chassis quest, the book asks you for the core machines: Alloy Smelter, SAG Mill, Stirling Generator, Crafter, Painting Machine, Wired Charger, Impulse Hopper and Drain.[3]
The Smelters chapter also has quests for the Alloy Smelter and the Primitive Alloy Smelter. In the AllTheModium chapter the Alloy Smelter leads to Energetic Alloy Ingot, one of the quests that come before the Allthemodium Ingot.[4][16]
In this pack, Grains of Infinity come from an Ex Deorum sieve recipe added by the pack.[5]
Sieve (exdeorum)
Recipe id: exdeorum:kjs/enderio_grains_of_infinity
This sieve recipe is added by the pack.
SAG Mill and silicon
The pack rewrote several SAG Mill recipes, all at 2,400 energy. Stone gives cobblestone with a 0.5 chance. Cobblestone gives gravel with a 0.5 chance. Gravel gives sand (0.5) and flint (0.1). Sand gives silicon with a 0.5 chance, but only if the silicon tag has something in it. Sandstone gives 2 sand with a chance of 1.0.[9][10][11][12][13]
Silicon is worth setting up early, because slicing recipes such as the Z-Logic Controller and the Ender Resonator ask for it. The Slice'N'Splice quest unlocks after Ensouled Chassis.[3][5]

The Extended Crafting chapter has ingot quests that ask you to hand in Ender IO metals. Part of that chapter's quest text is not covered here, so check the quest book for the rest.[17]
- The chapter asks for Dark Steel Ingot and End Steel Ingot.[17]
- It asks for Pulsating Alloy Ingot and Vibrant Alloy Ingot, which the pack's Mekanism combining recipes above produce.[5][17]
- It asks for Conductive Alloy Ingot, and the pack changed the NuclearCraft alloy smelter recipe that makes it.[5][17]
- It asks for Soularium Ingot, which has an alloy smelting recipe in the pack.[5][17]
- It also asks for Redstone Alloy Ingot and Copper Alloy Ingot.[17]
Capacitors
The capacitor quests form one long chain in the quest book: Basic Capacitor, then Double Layer Capacitor, then Octadic Capacitor. After that the chain asks for the Ender, Cobalt, Precision, Fast and Ultimate capacitors from the custom capacitors mod. The capacitor bank quests (Basic Capacitor Bank, Advanced Capacitor Bank, Vibrant Capacitor Bank) have no prerequisite shown.[3]
The pack makes the Double Layer and Octadic capacitors through Actually Additions empowering. Both recipes are set to 5,000 energy and a time value of 50.[8]

A pack script defines crafting recipes for the Ender, Cobalt, Precision and Fast capacitors. The ProjectE Philosopher's Stone chapter also asks for Octadic Capacitors, and one of its tasks wants 4.[18][19]
Conduits
The energy conduits run as a single ladder in the quest book, in this order:[3]
- Conductive Alloy Energy Conduit[3]
- Energetic Alloy Energy Conduit[3]
- Vibrant Alloy Energy Conduit[3]
- End Steel Energy Conduit[3]
- Lumium Energy Conduit[3]
- Enderium Energy Conduit[3]
- Sculk Superconductor Conduit[3]
- Energy Conduit[3]
The pack added the recipes for the Enderium conduit, the Energy Conduit and the Sculk Superconductor conduit.[5]

How does Ender IO work with other mods?
4 parts
Ender IO links up with other mods mostly through conduits. The mod has ME, Refined Storage and Mekanism chemical conduit types, and this pack adds its own recipes that tie Ender IO items to many other mods.[1][5]
In the quest book, the EnderIO chapter sits in the Production group (chapter 39 of 44) and has 78 quests. Five of those quests are not covered here, so check the book itself for them.[3]
Storage and chemical conduits
Refined Storage Conduit is your Refined Storage link, and the pack changed its recipe. It makes 3 conduits per craft. The quest is a quest in "EnderIO".[3][5]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: enderio:rs_cable
Changed by the pack.
For Applied Energistics 2, the quest book gives you a quest in "EnderIO" first, and a quest in "EnderIO" comes right after it.[3]
Pressurized Chemical Conduit is the Mekanism chemical link. The pack changed this recipe too, and it also makes 3 per craft. In the book, a quest in "EnderIO" leads to a quest in "EnderIO", then to a quest in "EnderIO".[3][5]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: enderio:mek_advanced_pressurized_tube
Changed by the pack.
Energy conduits
The pack added recipes for three more energy conduits, and each one makes 8 conduits. They pair the Conduit Binder with a material from another source: Thermal's Enderium Ingot, Mystical Agriculture's Supremium Ingot, or the Sculk Alloy Ingot.[5]

The quest book runs this as one chain: a quest in "EnderIO", a quest in "EnderIO", a quest in "EnderIO", a quest in "EnderIO", a quest in "EnderIO", a quest in "EnderIO", a quest in "EnderIO", and finally a quest in "EnderIO".[3]
Some of these conduits are also ingredients in the pack's mm energy ports. Tiny Energy Port Input uses Conductive Alloy Energy Conduit, and Big Energy Port Input uses Enderium Energy Conduit. In total, the recipe dump counts 10 shaped recipes that make mm items, with three Ender IO conduits among their ingredients.[5]

The pack adds Actually Additions empowering recipes for Double Layer Capacitor and Octadic Capacitor. Both cost 5,000 energy and have a time value of 50. In the quest book, a quest in "EnderIO" comes after a quest in "EnderIO", and a quest in "EnderIO" comes after that.[3][8]
The pack's SAG Mill recipe for sand only applies when something is tagged as silicon. When it does, it gives that silicon item with a 0.5 chance, for 2,400 energy.[13]
Ender IO parts in late-game recipes
Plenty of endgame crafts from other mods need an Ender IO item. These pack recipes include at least one:[5]
- Creative Power is made at an Avaritia table, in a recipe the pack changed.[5]
- Ultimate Crafting Table and Allthemodium Ingot are Extended Crafting table recipes the pack changed.[5]
- Hydroponic Bed, Energy Condenser MK2, Philosopher's Stone and Transmutation Table are all pack-changed recipes.[5]
- Creative Energy Cell is a pack-added Extended Crafting recipe.[5]
- The Mystical Agriculture seeds for dark steel, end steel, nether star and vibranium are pack-added recipes. So are the conductive alloy seeds, which use a Botania runic altar.[5]

Which Project Infinity 0.1 quests use Ender IO?
2 parts
The quest book has a chapter called "EnderIO" in the Production group, listed as chapter 39 of 44, with 78 quests. Each quest asks you to hand in one item, and most of them form short chains you can follow in order.[3]
The EnderIO chapter
- Energy conduits (the longest chain): it starts at a quest in "EnderIO", then a quest in "EnderIO", a quest in "EnderIO", a quest in "EnderIO", a quest in "EnderIO" and a quest in "EnderIO". Next comes a quest in "EnderIO", and the chain ends at a quest in "EnderIO".[3]
- Fluids: a quest in "EnderIO" is followed by a quest in "EnderIO", then a quest in "EnderIO".[3]
- Chemicals, same pattern: a quest in "EnderIO", then a quest in "EnderIO", then a quest in "EnderIO".[3]
- Storage networks: a quest in "EnderIO" is followed by a quest in "EnderIO". a quest in "EnderIO" has no prerequisite listed.[3]
- Extraction speed: a quest in "EnderIO", then a quest in "EnderIO", a quest in "EnderIO" and a quest in "EnderIO", one after another.[3]
- Capacitors: a quest in "EnderIO" is followed by a quest in "EnderIO" and then a quest in "EnderIO". The line carries on with quests that ask for capacitors from the custom_capacitors mod: a quest in "EnderIO", a quest in "EnderIO", a quest in "EnderIO", a quest in "EnderIO" and finally a quest in "EnderIO".[3]
- Redstone filters: a quest in "EnderIO" is the root quest. The quests for Redstone AND Filter, Redstone OR Filter, Redstone NOT Filter, Redstone NAND Filter, Redstone NOR Filter, Redstone XOR Filter and Redstone XNOR Filter each list it as their prerequisite. So do the quests for the Redstone Timer Filter, Redstone Toggle Filter, Redstone Counting Filter and Redstone Sensor Filter.[3]
- Souls: a quest in "EnderIO" is the prerequisite of three quests: a quest in "EnderIO", a quest in "EnderIO" and a quest in "EnderIO".[3]
- Machines: the line starts with a vanilla quest, a quest in "EnderIO", then a quest in "EnderIO", then a quest in "EnderIO". The quests for the Crafter, Wired Charger, Painting Machine, SAG Mill, Impulse Hopper, Drain, Stirling Generator and Alloy Smelter each list the Void Chassis quest as their prerequisite.[3]
Other quests in the chapter list no prerequisite, so the book lets you do them in any order. They ask for the Clear Glass, Conduit Probe, Item Conduit, Redstone Conduit, Heat Conduit, XP Obelisk, XP Vacuum, Vacuum Chest, Enchanter, Travel Anchor, Staff Of Travelling, Aversion Obelisk, Reinforced Obsidian Block and The Ender.[3]
Other chapters that ask for Ender IO items
- Smelters (Production group, chapter 42 of 44): this chapter has quests for a quest in "Smelters" and a quest in "Smelters", alongside furnaces from other mods. Neither has a prerequisite listed.[4]
- AllTheModium (Production group, chapter 36 of 44): a quest in "AllTheModium" comes after "Allthemodium Intro" quest. a quest in "AllTheModium" follows it, and that quest is one of several that a quest in "AllTheModium" comes after.[16]
- Extended Crafting (Production group, chapter 37 of 44): the chapter has ingot quests with no prerequisite for a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting". All of these appear in the list of quests that "The one and only" quest comes after.[17]
- ProjectE Philo Stone (Production group, chapter 33 of 44): a quest in "ProjectE Philo Stone" asks for four Octadic Capacitors. Several single-capacitor quests follow it, and they are among the many quests that a quest in "ProjectE Philo Stone" comes after.[19]
- Shop (chapter 2 of 44): a quest in "Shop" asks for 100,000 Octadic Capacitors, and it comes after the chapter's Task Screen quest.[20]
Unverified The quest book also has an EndGame chapter with 70 quests. Its text is not covered here, so check it in the quest book for any Ender IO tasks.

What changed in Ender IO between versions?
1 part
Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 ships Ender IO 6.2.18-beta. The pack has carried the mod since Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.45.4 or earlier.[2]
Recent Ender IO releases
The Ender IO changelogs available for this pack are all community-supported releases, and each one is a bug fix release. Here they are, oldest first.[24][25][26]
- 6.2.16-beta: unified the conduit placement logic, which fixes fluid conduit placement bugs (#986). The changelog credits @DoctorNefario for this release.[26]
- 6.2.17-beta: the Broken Spawner loot modifier now handles a missing BLOCK_ENTITY loot parameter (#1047). The heading inside this changelog file reads 6.2.16-beta, but the file is labelled as the 6.2.17-beta changelog.[25]
- 6.2.18-beta: fixed an item conduit stack size bug (#1312). This is the version your pack is running.[2][24]
Unverified The sources here include no pack changelog entries for Ender IO, so any change the pack itself made to the mod between releases is unverified. Check the pack's own changelogs for that.
