What is Extended Crafting?
2 parts
Extended Crafting adds new ways to craft items, plus extra crafting items and utilities. By itself it doesn't do much: the mod is built to be configured heavily, so recipes and settings get tuned to each modpack's progression. This pack ships version 6.1.8, so treat the pack's own recipes and quests as the truth rather than the mod's defaults.[1][2]
The crafting systems
- Combination crafting: a multiblock with a Crafting Core in the middle and Pedestals placed around it within a 7x7 area. It uses RF.[1]
- Table crafting: tiered crafting tables (Basic 3x3, Advanced 5x5, Elite 7x7, Ultimate 9x9) with their own recipe pool, separate from regular crafting.[1]
- Compression crafting: done in the Quantum Compressor, an RF-powered machine that uses a catalyst slot to identify the recipe. The catalyst isn't consumed.[1]
- Ender crafting: timed recipes made in the Ender Crafter, which draws on every Ender Alternator within a 7x7x7 area. More alternators means faster crafting.[1]
- Flux crafting: the same idea but FE-powered, using the Flux Crafter and Flux Alternator blocks.[1]
- Singularities: highly compressed materials made in the Quantum Compressor. The mod also adds the Ultimate Singularity.[1]
Where it sits in the quest book
In this pack's quest book, Extended Crafting has its own chapter in the Production group. The ATM Star path doesn't use this mod.[3]
The chapter opens with the checkmark quest "Welcome to Extended Crafting" quest. After it come three quests that each ask you to obtain an ingot: a quest in "Extended Crafting" (Ender Ingot), a quest in "Extended Crafting" (Redstone Ingot) and a quest in "Extended Crafting" (Black Iron Ingot).[3]
- After the Black Iron Ingot quest, the quests ask you for the Pedestal (a quest in "Extended Crafting"), the Black Iron Slate (a quest in "Extended Crafting") and Luminessence (a quest in "Extended Crafting"). The slate and luminessence quests come before the component quests, such as a quest in "Extended Crafting".[3]
- After the Ender Ingot quest, "The Ender Crafter" quest asks for an Ender Crafter and four Ender Alternator. a quest in "Extended Crafting" comes after it.[3]
- After the Redstone Ingot quest, "The Flux Crafter" quest asks for a Flux Crafter and four Flux Alternator.[3]
- "Auto Ender & Flux Crafters" quest comes after both crafter quests and asks for the Auto Ender Crafter and Auto Flux Crafter.[3]
- "One to rule them all" quest asks for the Ultimate Singularity and comes after a long list of singularity quests.[3]
Only part of the chapter's quest text was available for this guide, so the rest of it is in the quest book itself.[3]
How do you get started with Extended Crafting?
5 parts
Extended Crafting starts you off with a short chain of items, and the pack's quest book lays it out for you. It is the "Extended Crafting" chapter in the Production group (chapter 37 of 44). It opens with a checkmark quest, "Welcome to Extended Crafting" quest, and three quests hang off it: a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting". Here is the order that works, and why.[3]
Redstone Ingot and Ender Ingot
Everything else in this chain builds on these two. The pack adds its own recipe for the Redstone Ingot, so it is not the mod's stock recipe.[4]

Alternators and the two crafters
The Ender Ingot quest leads to the Ender Crafter quest, "The Ender Crafter" quest. The Redstone Ingot quest leads to the Flux Crafter quest, "The Flux Crafter" quest. Each of those quests asks for the crafter plus 4 alternators, so make the alternators in pairs.[3]

Alternators matter because a crafter takes its power from the alternators around it, and the more alternators you have, the faster it crafts. They work within a 7x7x7 area, with the crafter as the centre block.[1][5]

Black Iron Ingot
This is the item the rest of the chapter hangs on. The Black Iron Ingot recipe is added by the pack and is made in the Ender Crafter. That is why the Flux Crafter comes first. It also uses items from other mods, so check the recipe below before you start gathering.[4]

In the quest book, Black Iron Ingot unlocks a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting". The Black Iron Slate and Luminessence quests then open up the component quests.[3]
Your first component and catalyst
After the slate and Luminessence quests, the Advanced Component quest opens. Its recipe is shapeless.[3][4]

In the quest book, the Advanced Catalyst leads to the Advanced Crafting Table quest. After that, the Elite Crafting Table quest needs the Advanced Crafting Table and an Elite Catalyst, and the pack has changed its recipe. The Quantum Compressor quest comes after the Black Iron Frame quest, and the pack changed that recipe too.[3][4]

How does Extended Crafting work?
6 parts
Extended Crafting adds several different crafting methods, and its own guide book says the modpack creator decides how they are implemented. So everything below uses this pack's config values, not the mod's defaults.[5]
Tiered tables and auto tables
The mod adds tiered crafting tables in 3x3, 5x5, 7x7, 9x9, 11x11 and 13x13 sizes, and they keep their inventories when you close them. In this pack [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.useVanillaRecipes]] is on, so the Basic Crafting Table inherits vanilla crafting recipes. The Handheld Crafting Table is also enabled through General.handheldWorkbench.[5][6]
Auto Crafting Tables are upgraded tables that can take items automatically and be piped out of. Here is how to set one up:[5]
- Place a chest above the table and put items into it. Item insertion uses power.[5]
- Lay out a recipe in the grid, then shift+left click one of the 3 recipe slots in the top right to save it. Click a saved recipe to select it, or shift+left click it to delete it. Insertion only works once a recipe is saved.[5]
- Pull the results out with a hopper or any other compatible item extraction mechanism.[5]
- To switch auto crafting off, click the down arrow under the output slot.[5]
On power, [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTablePowerCapacity]] is 500,000 FE, and each higher tier holds double the previous one. Crafting uses 500 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTablePowerRate]]) and auto inserting items uses 100 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTableInsertPowerRate]]). Every auto table tier takes 8 ticks to craft, set by the autoTable craft time options in the same file.[6]
Combination crafting
Combination crafting is an in-world multiblock. You put a Crafting Core in the centre and place pedestals around it, anywhere within a 3 block radius and all on the same Y level. A recipe has a centre item that goes on the Crafting Core, plus pedestal items that go on the pedestals.[5]
The core needs power to work. Right click the side of the Crafting Core to see the current operation, including progress, power cost and how much power is stored. In this pack the core holds 5,000,000 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Combination Crafting.powerCapacity]]) and uses 500 FE/t by default ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Combination Crafting.powerRate]]). Craft speed depends on the recipe's power cost divided by its power rate.[1][5][6]
Quantum Compressor
The Quantum Compressor is a powered machine that holds and compresses huge amounts of material. Items you put in go into an internal buffer, shown as a blue bar. Most recipes need a catalyst in the left-most slot, and the catalyst is not used up. Once the buffer holds enough items the machine starts crafting, and it only uses power while crafting.[1][5]
The buffer can hold billions of items, but by default it only accepts as many as the recipe needs. The lock button next to the input buffer removes that limit. In this pack the compressor holds 10,000,000 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Quantum Compression.powerCapacity]]) and uses 5,000 FE/t by default ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Quantum Compression.powerRate]]).[5][6]
The pack changes the compressor's crafting recipe from the mod's own, so use the recipe below rather than any other guide.[4]
Shaped Table (extendedcrafting)
Recipe id: extendedcrafting:compressor
Singularities
Singularities are highly compressed materials, usually made in a Quantum Compressor. The defaults are set in Singularities.defaultMaterialsRequired (25,000 items) and Singularities.defaultPowerRequired (5,000,000 FE), with Singularities.defaultCatalyst set to the Ultimate Catalyst.[5][6]
Each singularity also has its own file under config/extendedcrafting/singularities, with colours, an ingredient, a name and often a material count. In this pack, for example, iron needs 100,000 items (materialCount), gold needs 50,000 (materialCount) and coal needs 66,666 (materialCount).[7][8][9]
The Ultimate Singularity is usually made in the Ultimate Crafting Table from all or most of the other singularities. In this pack Singularities.ultimateSingularityRecipe is false, so the default recipe for it is not generated.[5][6]
Ender crafting
Ender crafting is timed crafting. An Ender Crafter takes energy from the void through Ender Alternator blocks, and the more alternators you have, the faster it crafts. You can place alternators anywhere within a 3 block radius of the crafter, even above or below it.[5]
A craft takes 60 seconds by default ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.defaultTimeRequired]]). Each alternator speeds it up by 0.01 ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.alternatorEffectiveness]]), which is a percentage of the time required. The Auto Ender Crafter is enabled, holds 500,000 FE and uses 100 FE when auto inserting items.[6]

The Ender Crafter also handles some of the mod's own materials. The pack adds a recipe that makes Black Iron Ingot in it, so you can't get it the way the mod normally would.[4]

Flux crafting
Flux crafting is timed crafting powered by energy. A Flux Crafter takes energy from nearby Flux Alternator blocks, and again more alternators means faster crafting. They go anywhere within a 3 block radius, even above or below.[5]
By default the crafter pulls 400 FE/t from each alternator ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Flux Crafting.defaultPowerRate]]), and each alternator holds 80,000 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Flux Crafting.powerCapacity]]). The Auto Flux Crafter holds 500,000 FE and uses 100 FE when auto inserting items.[6]

How do you progress through Extended Crafting?
5 parts
The pack's quest book covers Extended Crafting in the "Extended Crafting" chapter of the Production group (chapter 37 of 44, 248 quests). Many of those quests just ask you to hand in a singularity or an ingot from another mod. The ones that matter for progression are a short chain: ingots, crafters, components, catalysts, then the tables.[3]
Step 1: the starter ingots
After "Welcome to Extended Crafting" quest, the book opens three ingot quests: Black Iron Ingot, Ender Ingot and Redstone Ingot. The pack added its own recipe for the Redstone Ingot.[3][4]

Step 2: the Ender and Flux crafters
The Ender Ingot leads to "The Ender Crafter" quest, and the Redstone Ingot leads to "The Flux Crafter" quest. Each asks for the crafter itself plus 4 alternators. One craft of the Ender Alternator recipe gives you 2, and the Flux Alternator recipe also gives 2.[3][4]

Step 3: components and catalysts
The Black Iron Ingot also opens Black Iron Slate, Luminessence and Pedestal. Once you have the slate and the luminessence, the component quests unlock: Basic, Advanced, Elite, Ultimate, Crystaltine, Enhanced Redstone and Enhanced Ender. The Redstone Component also asks for the Redstone Ingot, and the Ender Component for the Ender Ingot. Every component has a matching catalyst quest after it, for example Advanced Component then Advanced Catalyst.[3]

Step 4: the crafting tables
The table quests follow this order in the book:[3]
- Advanced Crafting Table comes after the Advanced Catalyst.[3]
- Elite Crafting Table comes after the Elite Catalyst and the Advanced Crafting Table.[3]
- Ultimate Crafting Table comes after the Ultimate Catalyst and the Elite Crafting Table.[3]
- Epic Crafting Table comes after the Ultimate Crafting Table.[3]
- Legendary Crafting Table comes after the Epic Crafting Table.[3]
The pack changed the Elite, Ultimate, Epic and Legendary table recipes. The Epic recipe builds on the Elite Crafting Table (not the Ultimate one), even though its quest comes after the Ultimate table. The Legendary recipe builds on the Epic table. Each table quest also has a follow-up Package Crafter quest for its tier.[3][4]

The Ultimate tier
"The one and only" quest asks for The Ultimate Ingot and only unlocks after you have handed in a very long list of ingots from across the pack. It then opens a quest in "Extended Crafting" and, after that, The Ultimate Catalyst.[3]
"One to rule them all" quest asks for the Ultimate Singularity and requires many different singularities first. The pack added its own recipe for it.[3][4]

The EndGame storyline also uses this mod. "One Small Step" quest asks for the Ultimate Ingot, and the Ultimate Crafting Table is a prerequisite of the "Infinity 12" quest there.[10]
If you want a long-term goal, the Legendary Challenges chapter asks for 200 Ultimate Singularities, 512 Ultimate Catalysts and 2,048 Ultimate Ingots.[11]
How does Extended Crafting work with other mods?
6 parts
Extended Crafting is the glue for a lot of this pack's late game. Many recipes from other mods are crafted in its tables, or ask for its singularities, ingots and blocks. Here is where the mods meet, based on the in-pack recipes and quests.[1][4]
Avaritia
Avaritia's progression runs through Extended Crafting. The pack changed the recipes for Crystal Matrix Ingot, Infinity Ingot, Neutronium Collector and Blaze Skull Sword, and they are all crafted in an Extended Crafting table. Infinity Catalyst has a recipe the pack added, also crafted in an Extended Crafting table.[4]
Ultimate Singularity also shows up in Avaritia's own crafting. The pack changed the recipes for Infinity Upgrade, Infinity Clock, Denser Neutronium Collector and Star Fuel, and each one takes it.[4]

Mystical Agriculture
The pack added Extended Crafting table recipes for several high tier seeds: Diamond Seeds, Iridium Seeds, Uraninite Seeds, Draconium Seeds, Ignitium Seeds, Sky Steel Seeds and End Steel Seeds.[4]
Shaped Table (extendedcrafting)
Recipe id: extended_mysticalagriculture:diamond_seeds
It also works the other way. The pack added a normal crafting grid recipe that makes The Ultimate Block from 7 of Mystical Agriculture's Ultimate Infinity Essence.[4]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: minecraft:kjs/extendedcrafting_the_ultimate_block
Ender Crafter recipes
The pack added Ender Crafter recipes that pull in other mods. One example is Black Iron Ingot, which makes 4 ingots per craft from Actually Additions, Blood Magic and Thermal materials alongside Extended Crafting's own enhanced redstone ingot. The Black Iron Block and Ender Star Block recipes follow the same idea.[4]
Shaped Ender Crafter (extendedcrafting)

Mod items that gate Extended Crafting itself
The pack changed some of Extended Crafting's own recipes so they need other mods. The Quantum Compressor asks for machines and parts from Mekanism, PneumaticCraft and Expanded Pattern Provider. The Elite Crafting Table asks for Botania and RFTools Base items. The pack also added a new Crystaltine Ingot recipe that mixes materials from AE2, ArmorPlus, Botania, Just Dire Things and Mekanism.[4]

More crossovers
- Time Wand is a pack-added crafting recipe that uses an Ultimate Singularity.[4]
- Creative Energy Battery is crafted in an Extended Crafting table, using Avaritia, Botanical Extra Machinery and Integrated Tunnels parts plus The Ultimate Block and The Ultimate Ingot.[4]
- The Everlasting Guilty Pool is made by Extended Crafting's combination crafting, with a pack-added recipe.[4]
- Angel Ring and Infinity Mana Catalyst are crafted in an Extended Crafting table with changed recipes.[4]
- Wind Generator x8192 has a changed Extended Crafting table recipe that uses Black Iron Frame.[4]
- Advanced Package Crafter has a changed crafting recipe that combines Extended Crafting parts with ME Packaging Component.[4]
- Crazy AE2 Addons has a research recipe for Entity Ticker that the pack changed. It asks for 64 Aureate ingots and 384 Nether Star Blocks from Extended Crafting.[4]
- Advanced AE's reaction chamber is crafted in an Extended Crafting table with a 5 by 5 pattern, which matches the size of the Advanced table.[1][13]

In the quest book
The Extended Crafting chapter sits in the Production group, chapter 37 of 44 in the book, and has 248 quests. It starts with "Welcome to Extended Crafting" quest, and a quest in "Extended Crafting" comes right after it. Most of the quests shown ask you to hand in a singularity, and others ask for the black iron, redstone, ender, enhanced ender, enhanced redstone and crystaltine ingots. Most of the chapter's quest text is not shown here, so check the quest book for the rest.[3]
Which Project Infinity 0.1 quests use Extended Crafting?
4 parts
Extended Crafting shows up in several chapters of the quest book. The main one is its own chapter, "Extended Crafting", in the Production group. The other chapters only ask for a few of its items, usually as one step on a longer path.[3]
The Extended Crafting chapter
Everything starts at "Welcome to Extended Crafting" quest, a simple checkmark quest. Three quests come right after it: a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting".[3]
- Black Iron branch: a quest in "Extended Crafting" is followed by a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting". The slate quest is followed by a quest in "Extended Crafting", and that one by a quest in "Extended Crafting".[3]
- Ender branch: a quest in "Extended Crafting" is followed by "The Ender Crafter" quest, which asks for an Ender Crafter plus 4 Ender Alternator. After that comes a quest in "Extended Crafting".[3]
- Flux branch: a quest in "Extended Crafting" is followed by "The Flux Crafter" quest, which asks for a Flux Crafter plus 4 Flux Alternator. After that comes a quest in "Extended Crafting".[3]
- After both crafter quests, "Auto Ender & Flux Crafters" quest asks for the Auto Ender Crafter and the Auto Flux Crafter.[3]
Components, catalysts and tables
Most component quests come after the Black Iron Slate and Luminessence quests, for example a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting". a quest in "Extended Crafting" also comes after the Redstone Ingot quest, and a quest in "Extended Crafting" also comes after the Ender Ingot quest. a quest in "Extended Crafting" comes after the big "The one and only" ingot quest described below.[3]
Each component quest is followed by the matching catalyst quest, such as a quest in "Extended Crafting" after the Basic Component and a quest in "Extended Crafting" after The Ultimate Component.[3]
The crafting table quests follow in a chain: a quest in "Extended Crafting", then a quest in "Extended Crafting", then a quest in "Extended Crafting", then a quest in "Extended Crafting", then a quest in "Extended Crafting". The Elite and Ultimate table quests also come after the catalyst quest of their own tier. Package crafter quests hang off each table, for example a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting".[3]
Ingots and singularities
Most of this chapter is a wall of ingot quests and quests titled "%s Singularity", each asking for one item. They lead into two big goals. "The one and only" quest asks for The Ultimate Ingot and comes after a very long list of ingot and alloy quests, including the Extended Crafting ingots. "One to rule them all" quest asks for the Ultimate Singularity and comes after a long list of the Singularity quests in the chapter.[3]
Other chapters that use the mod
- Masterful Machinery (Production group): a quest in "Masterful Machinery" asks for the multi compressor controller plus a Quantum Compressor. It comes after the Priority Setter and Lead Coated Glass quests.[14]
- EndGame (Storyline group): "One Small Step" quest asks for The Ultimate Ingot, and a quest in "EndGame" asks for the Ultimate Crafting Table. a quest in "EndGame" comes after both Infinity 11 and that table quest.[10]
- Avaritia (Storyline group): a quest in "Avaritia" asks for the Ultimate Crafting Table after Endest Pearl. a quest in "Avaritia" comes after it, along with the Cosmic Meatballs and Ultimate Stew quests.[15]
- AllTheModium (Production group): a a quest in "AllTheModium" quest comes after a quest in "AllTheModium".[16]
- ProjectE Philo Stone (Production group): a quest in "ProjectE Philo Stone" asks for the Ultimate Singularity, and a quest in "ProjectE Philo Stone" follows it. 50 of this chapter's 113 quests are not covered here, so check the quest book for the rest.[17]
- Legendary Challenges (Challenges group): "The Master of the Singularity" quest asks for 200 Ultimate Singularity, "Catalyst Cascade" quest asks for 512 Ultimate Catalyst, and "Ultimate Ingot Buffet" quest asks for 2,048 The Ultimate Ingot.[11]
Which Extended Crafting config options matter?
4 parts
Extended Crafting does very little on its own and is meant to be configured heavily by the pack developer. So the values below are what this pack actually uses. Most of what you'll notice is singularity costs and power numbers.[1]
Singularities
Singularities are enabled and their default recipes are generated. The pack's default is Singularities.defaultMaterialsRequired = 25,000 items and Singularities.defaultPowerRequired = 5,000,000 FE per singularity, with Ultimate Catalyst as the default catalyst.[6]
The default recipe for the Ultimate Singularity is turned off: Singularities.ultimateSingularityRecipe is false.[6]
The pack also sets the item count for many singularities in their own files, and several are far from 25,000:[6]
- Iron, gunpowder and lapis lazuli each need 100,000 items.[7][18][19]
- Gold, diamond and glowstone dust each need 50,000.[8][20][21]
- Coal needs 66,666.[9]
- Copper, tin, steel and bronze sit at 25,000.[22][23][24][25]
- The rare alloys are much cheaper: Unobtainium Ingot needs 500, Vibranium Ingot needs 1,000, and Crystal Matrix Ingot needs only 125.[26][27][28]
Power for the big crafters
- Crafting Core: holds 5,000,000 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Combination Crafting.powerCapacity]]) and uses 500 FE/t by default ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Combination Crafting.powerRate]]).[6]
- Quantum Compressor: holds 10,000,000 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Quantum Compression.powerCapacity]]) and uses 5,000 FE/t by default ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Quantum Compression.powerRate]]).[6]
- Flux Alternator: holds 80,000 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Flux Crafting.powerCapacity]]). The Flux Crafter pulls 400 FE/t from each alternator by default ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Flux Crafting.defaultPowerRate]]).[6]
- Ender Crafter: a craft takes 60 seconds by default ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.defaultTimeRequired]]). Each Ender Alternator speeds it up by 0.01 of the required time ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.alternatorEffectiveness]]).[6]
Auto crafters
The Auto Ender Crafter and Auto Flux Crafter are both enabled. Each holds 500,000 FE and uses 100 FE when auto inserting items.[6]
The auto crafting tables are enabled as well ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTablesEnabled]]). Every tier, Basic through Ultimate, takes 8 ticks per craft. They use 500 FE when crafting and 100 FE when auto inserting. Capacity starts at 500,000 FE, and each higher tier uses double the previous one.[6]
Quality of life
- The Handheld Crafting Table is enabled (General.handheldWorkbench).[6]
- The Basic Crafting Table inherits vanilla crafting recipes ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.useVanillaRecipes]] is true).[6]
- The Recipe Maker is on. It adds NBT when possible ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Recipe Maker.useNBT]] is true) but doesn't try to use tags ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Recipe Maker.useTags]] is false).[6]
- The Quantum Compressor renders the result item above it (General.enableCompressorRenderer is true).[29]
