XyCraft World in FTB StoneBlock 4

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.13.3 guide

XyCraft World is part of the pack's mod list. This pack ships version 0.7.53 (the file xycraft_world-0.7.53.jar), and the mod has been in the pack since version 1.0.1 or earlier.^[1]

I can't confirm from the available sources what the mod adds in this pack, so I'm not describing its features here. Nothing I have shows where the quest book places it, so I'm leaving out its chapter, group and neighbouring quests rather than guessing. I also have no pack-specific recipes or config values for it.^[1]

A lot of XyCraft World's recipes in this pack run on aluminum, so that is the material to get to know first. The steps below follow the recipes the pack actually has, in a sensible order for a fresh world.^[2]

Start with torches

The mod adds an Aluminum Torch and a Copper Torch. Each one has a second recipe that works from the raw material, so you can make them before you have smelted anything.^[2]

Make a Reinforced Glass Viewer

The Reinforced Glass Viewer is the base for the tougher glass in this mod. The Immortal Glass Viewer is crafted from it, so it is worth having one on hand.^[2][3]

Once you have aluminum ingots, you can make Aluminum Bricks. Those can then be crafted into Aluminum Tiles, a second building block.^[2]

Compact your materials

The mod has packing recipes to keep your inventory tidy. Nuggets pack into an Aluminum Ingot, ingots pack into Aluminum Storage, and raw aluminum packs into a Block of Raw Aluminum. Xychorium gems also have matching storage blocks in blue, dark, green, light and red.^[2]

Colored upgrades for later

When you find Xychorium gems, you can make colored cloud variants of the bricks, such as Blue Aluminum Bricks. The colors are blue, dark, green, light and red. The Blue Immortal Aluminum family comes in those same colors.^[2]

The sources for this pack don't describe XyCraft World machines, multiblocks, power or automation, so this section sticks to what they do show: how its ores and Ore Geysers generate, and how the pack lets you process Blue Xychorium ore.^[3][4]

Aluminum ore

Aluminum ore generates in Overworld biomes in the underground ores step. The variants are Aluminum Ore in stone, Deepslate Aluminum Ore in deepslate, and Kivi Aluminum Ore in kivi. Each vein has a size of 28. Placement uses a rarity filter of 2, and the height range runs from 30 to 120 blocks above the bottom of the world.^[3][5][6][7]

Once you have ingots, the mod's shaped recipe turns them into Aluminum Bricks, and the bricks make Aluminum Tiles.^[4]

Xychorium ores

Xychorium ore comes in blue, dark, green, light and red. Each colour has its own feature that is added to Overworld biomes in the underground ores step.^{[8][9][10][11][12]}

Each colour's veins have a size of 8, and every colour has stone, deepslate and kivi versions, such as Deepslate Blue Xychorium Ore.^{[13][14][15][16][17]}

Placement is the same for every colour: a count of 2, with a trapezoid height distribution from 40 to 120 blocks above the bottom of the world.^{[18][19][20][21][22]}

Kivi

Kivi has its own Overworld feature in the raw generation step. It replaces the base Overworld stone with veins of size 64. Placement uses a rarity filter of 2, and the height range runs from 0 to 60.^[23][24][25]

Ore geysers

The Ore Geyser block (shown in game as Ore Geyser) is placed by a surface geyser structure and an underground geyser structure. They share one structure set with a spacing of 15 and a separation of 7. The surface type has a weight of 3 against a weight of 1 for the underground type, so surface geysers are picked more often.^{[3][26][27][28]}

Surface geysers only spawn in Overworld biomes that are dry, mountain, plains, hill, jungle, forest, taiga, savanna or badlands, or that carry the valid geyser spawn tag. Underground geysers can appear in any Overworld biome.^[27][28]

Processing Blue Xychorium ore

The pack adds a recipe for blue xychorium ore in many of its processing machines, all giving Blue Xychorium Gem. The yields differ by machine:^[4]

• Create crusher: 3 gems, plus a Nugget of Experience.^[4]
• Oritech pulverizer: 3 gems.^[4]
• Mekanism crusher, Immersive Engineering crusher and Occultism crusher: 2 gems each.^[4]
• EnderIO SAG mill and Actually Additions crusher: 1 gem each.^[4]

The Mekanism enriching recipe for blue xychorium ore is marked as changed by the pack, and it gives 10 gems.^[4]

You can also get the ore without mining. The pack adds an Occultism miner recipe and an Actually Additions mining lens recipe, and both give Deepslate Blue Xychorium Ore.^[4]

XyCraft World doesn't give you numbered tiers in this pack. What the recipes show is a material chain: aluminum first, then Xychorium gems, then the colored and decorative blocks that need both.^[4]

Step 1: Aluminum

Aluminum ore comes in stone, deepslate and Kivi variants: Aluminum Ore, Deepslate Aluminum Ore and Kivi Aluminum Ore. Each one drops Raw Aluminum and is affected by Fortune. With Silk Touch you get the ore block itself instead.^[29][30][31]

From there you work with Aluminum Ingot. Nuggets pack into an ingot, and a single Aluminum Storage unpacks into 9 ingots. An ingot makes 4 Aluminum Bricks, and one brick makes 4 Aluminum Tiles.^[4]

The Aluminum Torch is a cheap early extra. One craft gives you 2 of them.^[4]

Step 2: Xychorium gems

There are two routes to the gems. The first goes through Kivi, which an extractor makes from water. A crusher then turns Kivi into all five gems: blue, dark, green, light and red.^[4]

The second route is ore. The pack adds Xychorium ore processing to many machines, and the output differs by machine:^[4]

• Actually Additions crushing and the EnderIO sagmill give a single gem per ore.^[4]
• The Immersive Engineering crusher, the Mekanism crusher and the Occultism crusher give 2 gems per ore.^[4]
• The Oritech pulverizer gives 3 gems per ore. The Create crusher also gives 3, plus a Nugget of Experience.^[4]

You can also generate the ore itself. The pack adds Occultism miner recipes and Actually Additions mining lens recipes that produce Deepslate Blue Xychorium Ore. The dark and green versions of those recipes output Deepslate Red Xychorium Ore according to the recipe dump.^[4]

To store gems, use the storage blocks such as Blue Xychorium Gem Storage, Dark Xychorium Gem Storage and Green Xychorium Gem Storage.^[4]

Step 3: Colored and decorative blocks

The colored cloud aluminum bricks use both halves of the chain, so you need Xychorium and aluminum before you can make them. One craft gives 2 bricks. Blue, dark, green, light and red variants exist, and the tiles for each color come 4 per brick.^{[4][32][33][34][35][36]}

For lighting, the Glowing Glass Viewer and the RGB Lamp each have their own recipe. A shapeless recipe flips the lamp to the Inverted RGB Lamp and back.^[4]

Crushing Xychorium ore

The pack adds Create crushing recipes for every Xychorium ore colour: blue, dark, green, light and red. Each ore crushes into its matching gem, such as Blue Xychorium Gem, and also gives you a Nugget of Experience. So a crusher setup gets you gems and a little XP together.^[2]

The pack has custom machine recipes in its World Engine category that take XyCraft World items. One takes Reinforced Glass Viewer together with Chroniton Glass, Chroniton Star, Depleted Chroniton Star and Aluminum Ingot. Another takes Dark Xychorium Gem together with Anti-Matter Relay MK3, Shadow Steel, Replica Ingot and Charged Redstone Crystal.^[2]
