What is Draconic Evolution?
2 parts
Draconic Evolution is an end-game tech mod. Its own page describes it as adding high-tier tools and armor, high-tier RF energy storage, and a grab bag of extras like teleportation, mob farming, player detection, and time and weather control. The author admits that description is ancient, so treat it as a rough overview rather than a full feature list. This pack ships version 3.1.4.633.[1][2]
It's aimed at you once you're ready to build serious power storage and top-tier gear. The pack gives the mod its own quest chapter that walks you up the tiers in order.[1][3]
Where it fits in the progression
The Draconic Evolution quest chapter is a ladder. Here's the main path it lays out:[3]
- Start by collecting Draconium Dust, then make a Draconium Core.[3]
- Get a Fusion Crafting Core and a Draconium Fusion Crafting Injector to set up fusion crafting.[3]
- Move up to the Wyvern Core and the Wyvern Fusion Crafting Injector.[3]
- Reach the Awakened Draconium Block and the Draconic Fusion Crafting Injector.[3]
- Finish with the Chaotic Fusion Crafting Injector, which unlocks the Draconic Reactor Core along with its injector, flux gate and stabilizer.[3]
Alongside that, the chapter covers energy storage. You'll build an Energy Core with a stabilizer and pylon, and work through the Wyvern, Draconic and Chaotic capacitors. It also has a crystal-binder quest for the Basic, Wyvern and Draconic energy crystals.[3]
The gear lives in the Gearing Up chapter, which has Wyvern, Draconic and Chaotic tiers of tools, weapons and chestpieces. For example, the Chaotic chestpiece quest comes after the Draconic one.[4]
Links to the rest of the pack
Draconic Evolution items show up in other chapters too. The World Engine tier 5 chapter asks for the Dragon Heart, the Dislocator and chaos fragments, and one quest there pairs an Avaritia infinity singularity with a Draconium, Draconic or Chaotic core. The Bounty Board asks for a Wyvern core and an Awakened Draconium Block. The exploration chapter covers dislocators, including the Advanced Dislocator.[5][6][7]
Unverified Exact fusion recipes, energy capacities and config values for this pack aren't confirmed in the sources used for this overview, so check the dedicated sections for those details.
How do you get started with Draconic Evolution?
5 parts
Draconic Evolution is a long road, but this pack gives you a quest chain in its draconic_evolution chapter that shows what to make and in what order. Follow it from the top and you always know the next step.[3]
Start with Draconium Dust and the Draconium Core
The chain opens with Draconium Dust ("Welcome to Draconic Evolution" quest). Right after it comes the Draconium Core (a quest in "Draconic Evolution"). This one matters a lot: the fusion setup, the crystals and the Wyvern Core quests all unlock from it.[3]

Set up fusion crafting
Next the chapter asks for the Fusion Crafting Core and a Draconium Fusion Crafting Injector ("Fusion Crafting" quest). Several of the pack's Draconic Evolution recipes use the fusion crafting recipe type, including the Wyvern injector, the Draconic Core and the Awakened Draconium Block, so this setup is how you reach them.[3][8]

Separately, "Draconic Energy Transfer" quest also unlocks after the Draconium Core. It wants a Crystal Binder plus one energy crystal each from the basic, Wyvern and Draconic tiers, and each tier can be an I/O, relay or wireless crystal. After the Wyvern injector, "Draconic Capacitors" quest asks for the Wyvern, Draconic and Chaotic capacitors.[3]
Looking ahead
The Wyvern injector also leads to the Awakened Draconium Block ("Awakened Draconium" quest). From there the chapter continues to the Draconic Fusion Crafting Injector, Chaos Fragments, the Chaotic Fusion Crafting Injector and finally the reactor parts. Save those for later.[3]

This one is a fusion craft, so you need the fusion setup from earlier.
How does Draconic Evolution work?
9 parts
Draconic Evolution describes itself as end game tech: high-tier items such as tools and armor, high-tier energy storage (RF), and features like teleportation, mob farming and player detection.[1]
This section sticks to what the mod's tooltips and the pack's recipes explain. Exact power numbers and how the big multiblocks are laid out are left out, because the sources here don't cover them.[8][9]
The core component chain
Most machines start from the Draconium Core. The Entity Detector, Disenchanter and Dislocator Receptacle recipes all use it, and so do the Wyvern Core and the Wyvern Energy Controller. The energy controllers then step up in tiers: Wyvern Energy Controller, then Draconic Energy Controller, then Chaotic Energy Controller.[8]

The energy core GUI has an energy target field. Its tooltip says it is for display purposes only, so it won't change how the core behaves. You can type plain numbers or scientific notation: 9.223E18 translates to 9,223,000,000,000,000,000.[9]
Storing and compressing materials
Draconium and Awakened Draconium both compress and decompress through crafting. Nuggets, ingots and blocks all convert both ways, so you can store them compactly and break them back down when a recipe needs smaller pieces.[8]

The reactor
The reactor GUI shows four live readouts. Convert rate is how fast fuel is being used, and it drops as saturation rises. Core volume is the total volume of Draconium plus Chaos inside, and it only changes when you add or remove fuel. Field rate is the exact OP/t of input needed to hold the current field strength, and it rises exponentially as field strength increases. Generation rate is the OP/t the reactor is producing right now.[9]
Reactor components can output a comparator signal, and each mode has an inverted version. Shield mode outputs 0 to 15 as shield strength moves between 0 and 100%, with 1 meaning above 10% and 15 meaning 90% or more. Conversion mode scales with fuel conversion, and 15 means 90% or more. Saturation mode follows saturation from 0 to 100%. Temperature mode scales as temperature rises up to 10,000C.[9]
Generators
The generator has five modes that trade fuel efficiency against output. Eco has increased efficiency and decreased output. Eco Plus pushes that further, with significantly increased efficiency and significantly decreased output. Normal is standard output and efficiency, similar to other basic generators. Performance gives a worthwhile output increase for a small efficiency penalty. Overdrive is for when you want all the power you can get and have plenty of fuel to burn.[9]
Detection and redstone control
According to its tooltips, the Entity Detector checks for nearby entities in scanning pulses. You set the scanning range in blocks, and increasing the range increases the energy cost of each scanning pulse. Pulse rate sets the delay between scans. RS Min is the minimum number of detected entities needed for a signal of 1, and RS Max is the minimum number needed for a signal of 15.[8][9]
The tooltip says pulse mode emits a 1 tick pulse every scanning pulse, while fixed mode emits a continuous signal that updates every scanning pulse. The strength of the output is determined by the number of valid entities detected and the RS Min and RS Max settings.[9]

The Flow Gate is also redstone-controlled. You set one flow value for a signal of 0 and another for a signal of 15, and the tooltip says the actual flow varies between the two depending on the strength of the redstone signal. The GUI can also show that the default controls have been disabled by a computer.[9]
Grinder and Draconium Chest
The Grinder kills mobs inside an area you can change with its area-of-effect setting. It has two optional collection toggles. One collects items in the kill area and inserts them into an adjacent inventory. The other collects dropped XP and stores it internally. A player can claim that XP as levels, or it can be piped out if a mod that adds liquid XP is installed.[9]
The Draconium Chest has an auto-smelt feature with three modes, as its tooltips describe. All feeds all smeltable items into the furnace. Filtered feeds any items that are already being smelted. Filtered (Sticky) works like Filtered but keeps one item so the filter persists.[9]
Dislocators and teleporting
The dislocator GUI uses Ender Pearls as teleport fuel, and it shows the total number of teleports remaining. You can add 1 Ender Pearl, 16 Ender Pearls, or all Ender Pearls from your inventory. Sneak + right click binds your current X, Y and Z coordinates, the direction you are facing, and your dimension. You can add the current position to the top or bottom of the list, insert it below the selected entry, or update the selected location to your current coordinates. Right click can switch between Teleport to Selected and Blink, and you can also configure keybindings.[9]
The pack has recipes for the Dislocation Normalization Field Projector, the Dislocator Pedestal and the Dislocator Receptacle. The inhibitor builds on the Item Dislocator (the Item Dislocator).[8]

Modular item configuration
Modular gear has its own configuration GUI where you work with properties, property groups and presets. You can drag properties around, drop them in a delete zone, and set a keybind for a preset. Global mode applies a property to all equipment of the same type, though the displayed value may not match the item's actual value. Global Binding lets a keybind work even while the GUI is closed.[9]
Disenchanter and Reaper
The Reaper enchantment's description says it increases the chances of obtaining a Mob Soul when killing mobs. The Disenchanter has a recipe in the pack, but the sources don't explain how it works.[8][9]

How do you progress through Draconic Evolution?
5 parts
The Draconic Evolution quest chapter walks you through the mod in a fairly straight line, and the order follows the tiers: Draconium, Wyvern, Draconic, then Chaotic. The quests in this pack have no titles, so I point to them by ID. Each quest below shows what it asks you to hand in.[3]
The quest path, step by step
- Start with "Welcome to Draconic Evolution" quest for Draconium Dust, then a quest in "Draconic Evolution" for a Draconium Core. Everything else branches off that core.[3]
- Three quests open after the core. "Fusion Crafting" quest wants a Fusion Crafting Core and a Draconium Fusion Crafting Injector. "Draconic Energy Transfer" quest wants a Crystal Binder plus one crystal each from the basic, wyvern and draconic tiers. a quest in "Draconic Evolution" wants a Wyvern Core.[3]
- "Wyvern Infusion" quest asks for the Wyvern Fusion Crafting Injector. It unlocks once you have both the Wyvern Core and the fusion setup quest done.[3]
- Energy comes next. "DE Energy Core" quest (after the Wyvern Core) wants an Energy Core, an Energy Core Stabilizer and an Energy Pylon. "Draconic Capacitors" quest (after the Wyvern injector) wants the Wyvern Capacitor, Draconic Capacitor and Chaotic Capacitor.[3]
- Also after the Wyvern injector, "Awakened Draconium" quest asks for an Awakened Draconium Block. "Awakened Infusion" quest then asks for the Draconic Fusion Crafting Injector, which is the Draconic tier injector.[3]
- "Chaos Fragments" quest wants a Tiny Chaos Fragment and needs the Awakened Draconium Block quest plus "Milking A... Chicken?" quest. That one, in the World Engine Tier 5 chapter, asks for a Dislocator and a Tiny Chaos Fragment. After that, "Chaotic Infusion" quest asks for the Chaotic Fusion Crafting Injector.[3][5]
- The chapter ends with "The Draconic Reactor" quest: Draconic Reactor Core, Reactor Energy Injector, Flux Gate and Reactor Stabilizer.[3]
The core ladder
The cores are the backbone of every tier. In this pack the Draconium Core and Wyvern Core are crafted in a normal crafting grid. The Draconic Core (Draconic Core) and the Chaotic Core use fusion crafting recipes, which is why the quests ask for the Fusion Crafting Core and injectors first.[3][8]

Gearing up: tools and armor
The Gearing Up chapter follows the same Wyvern, Draconic, Chaotic ladder with gear. You first hand in Wyvern tools, the sword and bow, and the chestpiece. The Draconic quests come after those, and the Chaotic quests come last. a quest in "Gearing Up" also asks for a Disenchanter.[4]
Each upgrade is a fusion recipe that takes the previous tier's item as an input, so you do not craft Draconic or Chaotic gear from scratch. Here is the Draconic Pickaxe as an example.[8]

The biggest size is the Large Chaos Fragment.[3][5][8]

Other chapters that ask for this mod
Draconic Evolution items also appear outside its own chapter. The Bounty Board wants a Wyvern Core and an Awakened Draconium Block. The Exploration and Combat chapter has "Dislocator" quest for dislocators and a quest in "Exploration" for the Advanced Dislocator. The World Engine Tier 4 and Tier 5 chapters ask for the Energy Core and its stabilizer, and the Creative chapter asks for a Chaotic Core and Chaotic Capacitor.[5][6][7][10][11]
How does Draconic Evolution work with other mods?
5 parts
Draconic Evolution is not a standalone island in this pack. The pack adds or changes a lot of recipes that pull Draconic Evolution items into other mods' systems, and the other way around. Here are the connections I can confirm from the pack's recipes.[8]
Chicken Roost
Chickens are a real route to Draconic materials here. The pack changed the recipe for Chicken Seed Tier 8 so that it needs Draconium Infused Obsidian among its ingredients.[8]

Once you have the chickens, the roost recipes added by the pack turn them into materials. The Draconium Chicken works with tier 8 or higher seeds and gives Draconium Ingot. The Awakened Draconium Chicken works with tier 9 or higher seeds and gives Awakened Draconium Ingot. The Chaos Chicken works with tier 9 or higher seeds and gives Tiny Chaos Fragment.[8]

The exploration quest "Dislocator" quest asks for the Dislocator, the Un-Bound Dislocator (Player) and the Dislocator Pedestal. It comes before a quest in "Exploration", which asks for the Advanced Dislocator.[7]
Machine recipes that mix mods
The pack also added several custom machine recipes that take Draconic Evolution items alongside items from other mods. Between them they combine Draconic parts with Avaritia, ProjectE, Replication, Apotheosis, Mekanism, Oritech, Malum, Occultism and more. Check the recipes below for the exact inputs.[8]

Quests that mix mods
Several quests ask for Draconic Evolution items next to items from other mods. In the World Engine tier 4 chapter, "Draconic Core" quest and "Auto-Build The Draconic Upgrade" quest want the Energy Core and Energy Core Stabilizer alongside Avaritia's Crystal Matrix Block.[10]
In the tier 5 chapter, "Singularities" quest pairs Avaritia's Neutronium Compressor and Infinity Singularity with one of the Draconium Core, Draconic Core or Chaotic Core.[5]
The creative chapter's "Ascension Tier 3 - Omniscient" quest combines the Chaotic Core and Chaotic Capacitor with Mekanism's Ultimate Energy Cube and Ultimate Induction Provider, plus Avaritia's Redstone Singularity and Json Singularity.[11]
Which FTB StoneBlock 4 quests use Draconic Evolution?
3 parts
Draconic Evolution quests are spread over several chapters. The main one is the Draconic Evolution chapter, and the Gearing Up chapter covers the tools and armor. A few more quests show up in the World Engine, Bounty Board, Exploration and Combat, Creative and tips chapters. The quests have no titles in the pack files, so I point to each one by its quest reference.[3][4][5][6][7][10][11][12]
The Draconic Evolution chapter
This chapter takes you from your first dust to the reactor. The order below follows the prerequisite links between quests, so some steps can be done in either order.[3]
- "Welcome to Draconic Evolution" quest is the start of the chapter and asks for Draconium Dust.[3]
- a quest in "Draconic Evolution" asks for a Draconium Core.[3]
- "Fusion Crafting" quest asks for a Fusion Crafting Core and a Draconium Fusion Crafting Injector.[3]
- "Draconic Energy Transfer" quest asks for a Crystal Binder plus one crystal from each of three tiers: basic, Wyvern and Draconic. Each tier accepts the I/O, relay or wireless version, for example Basic Energy Relay Crystal, Wyvern Energy I/O Crystal or Draconic Wireless Energy Crystal.[3]
- a quest in "Draconic Evolution" asks for a Wyvern Core.[3]
- "Wyvern Infusion" quest asks for a Wyvern Fusion Crafting Injector. It unlocks once a quest in "Draconic Evolution" and "Fusion Crafting" quest are both done.[3]
- "DE Energy Core" quest asks for an Energy Core, an Energy Core Stabilizer and an Energy Pylon. It only needs a quest in "Draconic Evolution".[3]
- "Draconic Capacitors" quest asks for three capacitors: Wyvern Capacitor, Draconic Capacitor and Chaotic Capacitor.[3]
- "Awakened Draconium" quest asks for an Awakened Draconium Block.[3]
- "Awakened Infusion" quest asks for a Draconic Fusion Crafting Injector.[3]
- "Chaos Fragments" quest asks for a Tiny Chaos Fragment. It also requires "Milking A... Chicken?" quest from the World Engine Tier 5 chapter.[3][5]
- "Chaotic Infusion" quest asks for a Chaotic Fusion Crafting Injector.[3]
- "The Draconic Reactor" quest is the last quest in the chain. It asks for a Draconic Reactor Core, a Reactor Energy Injector, a Flux Gate and a Reactor Stabilizer.[3]

The Gearing Up chapter has four quests with no prerequisites: "Wyvern Tools" quest (any one Wyvern axe, hoe, pickaxe or shovel), "Wyvern Weapons" quest (Wyvern Sword and Wyvern Bow), "Wyvern Chestpiece" quest (Wyvern Chestpiece) and a quest in "Gearing Up" (Disenchanter).[4]
The Draconic tier follows. "Draconic Tools" quest wants one Draconic tool plus the Draconic Staff of Power. "Draconic Weapons" quest wants the Draconic Sword, Draconic Bow and Draconic staff. "Draconic Chestpiece" quest wants the Draconic Chestpiece.[4]
The Chaotic tier finishes the chapter. "Chaotic Tools" quest wants one Chaotic tool plus the Chaotic Staff of Power. "Chaotic Weapons" quest wants the Chaotic Sword, Chaotic Bow and Chaotic staff. "Chaotic Chestpiece" quest wants the Chaotic Chestpiece.[4]

What changed in Draconic Evolution between versions?
4 parts
FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 ships Draconic Evolution 3.1.4.633. The mod has been in the pack since 1.0.0 or earlier. I don't have any pack changelog entries for this mod, so everything below comes from the mod's own changelogs for the builds leading up to the version you're playing.[2]
3.1.4.633 (the version in this pack)
- Insta-kill damage no longer sometimes bugs out. When too many mods modify damage and death events (the changelog names Apothic Attributes and Relics as an example), dealing too much damage could leave an entity in a semi-dead state. Lowering the damage dealt prevents that.[13]
- Added the missing Chaos Implosion death message.[13]
- Energy Links no longer only take minimum energy. The flow is now saved to the module, so it isn't reset every tick.[13]
- Existing worlds no longer break. An earlier change to the Energy Link code added a new codec, which could stop a world from loading if a player already had an Energy Link without it. The codec is now optional.[13]
3.1.4.632
- Fixed the soul drop rate with water animals.[14]
3.1.4.630
- Fixed the Draconic pickaxe mining level.[15]
- Fixed the flight module sometimes rapidly draining capacitors.[15]
- Fixed an edge case crash with the disenchanter.[15]
- Fixed the energy core energy readout.[15]
3.1.3.629
- Fixed the light transparency of the Dislocator Receptacle.[16]
- Fixed a potential chaos crystal crash.[16]
- Added missing tool tags.[16]
- Fixed the chaotic shield capacity recipe.[16]
