What is Oritech?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Oritech is a technology mod built around animated multiblock machines. It covers processing machines, world-interaction machines, logistics parts, equipment and more. Machine upgrades come from addon blocks you attach to the machine. This pack ships Oritech 1.2.12.[1][2]
It suits you if you like building big processing chains and automated farms. The mod aims to give you several ways to get most things, so you rarely hit a roadblock that needs one rare item. It also pushes renewable fuel and items, with oil wells and resource nodes encouraging you to build outposts and ship goods to a central hub.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
Oritech has its own quest chapter, and most of it branches off the Oritech Beginnings quest. Start with "Machine Cores" quest: machine cores are the basis of every Oritech machine, and you right-click a machine with a core to build it. The chapter then covers generators, energy storage, and item, fluid and energy pipes. It also covers drone ports, the pulverizer and the centrifuge.[3]
The ATM Star path
Part of the Oritech chapter sits on the ATM Star path. Here is the route the quests lay out:[3]
- Early machines: the Centrifuge, the Foundry for making Adamant Ingot, and the Assembler.[3]
- Lasers: the Enderic Laser and Target Designator, then Fluxite, which you get by charging amethyst with the laser.[3]
- The Atomic Forge, which can only be powered by Enderic Lasers. It comes after Duratium Ingot, Enderic Compound and Flux Gate.[3]
- Late components: Silicon Wafer, Advanced Computing Engine, Super AI Chip and Heisenberg Compensator. The path also includes Plutonium Pellet and the Manhattan Module.[3]
- Chapter 4: The ATM Star also asks you for a Large Energy Storage and a Superconductor. Both come after the Putting things together quest.[4]
How do you get started with Oritech?
4 parts
Oritech is a big tech mod, but the pack's Oritech quest chapter gives you a clear order to follow. Most of its quests unlock after the opening quest, Oritech Beginnings, so you can pick your path from there. Here is the order I'd go in.[5]
Your first machines
- Make a Primitive Machine Core first. The quest "Machine Cores" quest says all machines use cores: you right-click a machine with a core to build it. Cores don't change speed or efficiency directly, only how many modifiers a machine can take.[5]
- Build a Basic Generator for power. It runs on furnace fuel.[5]
- Add a Pulverizer to grind your ores. Later, the Fragment Forge improves yield on all pulverisation recipes.[5]
- Get a Centrifuge. The quest calls it an important machine for your future endeavours, and the ore processing quest relies on it.[5]
- Build the Assembler. It does more than craft new items, because it also improves yield for some other items.[5]
Building components
Once you have the Assembler, make Magnetic Coil and Motor. The quest "Basic Building Components" quest says these are used to make most machines, so stock up on both. Both are Assembler recipes in this pack.[5][6]

Storing and moving power
After the basics, set up energy storage. The quest "Storing Energy" quest asks for the Portable Energy Storage or the Large Energy Storage. To move power around, "Transferring Energy" quest covers the Energy Pipe, the Framed Energy Pipe and the Energy Pipe Duct, and describes smoothly transferring 10k rf/t.[5]
Ore processing
For proper ore processing, the quest "Ore Processing" quest says you need a Centrifuge with a Fluid Addon, plus a Pulverizer or Fragment Forge. Centrifuging clumps with a fluid gives you gems, such as Iron Gem. The quest says Sulfuric Acid works, and Water is the alternative for a lower yield.[5]
Centrifuge Fluid (oritech)
1000× Sulfuric Acid
- any iron clump
Recipe id: oritech:centrifuge/fluid/clumpacid/iron
With Sulfuric Acid you also get Mineral Slurry.
Centrifuge Fluid (oritech)
1000× Water
- any iron clump
Recipe id: oritech:centrifuge/fluid/clump/iron
The Water version, which the quest says gives a lower yield.
The pack changed the dry centrifuge recipes for copper, gold, iron and nickel clumps. Each now gives a tiny dust byproduct alongside the gem. Platinum clumps keep the mod recipe, which gives Fluxite with the gem.[6]
Changed by the pack: a tiny dust byproduct comes with the gem.
How does Oritech work?
5 parts
Oritech machines are mostly animated multiblocks, and you upgrade them with addon blocks. That is the core idea behind how everything in the mod fits together.[1]
Addons
The pack has several addon items you can add to your machines. The sources I have only confirm their names and recipes, not their exact effects, so check each one in-game before you plan a build around it.[6]
- Acceptor Addon (Acceptor Addon)[6]
- Burst Addon (Burst Addon)[6]
- Capacitor Addon (Capacitor Addon), plus Power Bank Addon Extender (Power Bank Addon Extender)[6]
- Efficiency Addon (Efficiency Addon)[6]
- Hunter Addon (Hunter Addon)[6]
- Crop Filter Addon (Crop Filter Addon)[6]
- Machine Addon Extender (Machine Addon Extender)[6]
The pack changes the Burst Addon recipe from the mod's default, so use this one:[6]

The Power Bank Addon Extender is built from a Capacitor Addon and a Machine Addon Extender. Here is the Capacitor Addon recipe:[6]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: oritech:crafting/addon/capacitor
The mod has a config option for whether addon bonuses are added together (additive) or multiplied. The pack has no Oritech config file in the sources, so I can't tell you which way it is set here.[7]
Pipes and logistics
Oritech has item, fluid and energy pipes, and there is only 1 pipe tier for each type. The mod describes its pipes as generally pretty fast.[1]
The mod is built to stay light on performance. Pipe blocks only have block entities where needed, for example when they connect to machines. All networks are cached, and network updates are only sent when needed.[1]
Oritech also has drones, which carry items across vast distances.[1]
The pack changes the recipes for the Fluid Pipe and the Pump from the mod's defaults. Craft them like this:[6]

Power
Oritech offers several ways to generate energy, from burning fossil fuels to building sustainable farms for biofuel. The Energy Transmission Pole (Energy Transmission Pole) is one of the power-related blocks. Its recipe is below, but the sources don't explain how it behaves.[1][6]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | ||
| any electrum ingot | any electrum ingot | |

Resources and mining machines
Oritech aims to give you renewable sources for most things. Large automated farms can produce fuel and items, and the bedrock extractor can give you renewable metals in the late game. Naturally spawned resource nodes and oil wells are there to push you into building auxiliary bases and shipping items back to a central hub.[1]
The mod also tries to give you several routes to the same result. Plastic, for example, can come from farming items or from oil processing.[1]
The destroyer block and the enderic laser share a config option that controls how much block hardness affects mining speed. Lower values mean hardness has less effect. The pack's actual value isn't in the sources.[7]
Machine colors
Machines can be colored with machine paints, and the pack changes some of the paint recipes. The Netherite paint is one of them, so here is its in-pack recipe:[1][6]

How do you progress through Oritech?
7 parts
Oritech progression in this pack runs mostly through the Oritech quest chapter. Almost everything early on hangs off the starting quest, Oritech Beginnings. I've grouped the quests into stages below so you can see the order. The grouping is mine, not an official tier list.[5]
Stage 1: Cores, power and logistics
Everything starts with Primitive Machine Core in the "Machine Cores" quest quest. You right-click a machine with a core to build it. Cores don't change a machine's speed or efficiency directly, only the number of modifiers it can take.[5]
In the quest book, a separate core chain follows. Improved Machine Core comes first, then Advanced Machine Core, Elite Machine Core and Ultra Machine Core. The Productive Bees chapter also has a quest that tracks Ultimate Machine Core.[5][8]
- The quest for Basic Generator describes it as running on furnace fuel.[5]
- The quest for Bio Generator describes it as a way to make biomass and use it.[5]
- The quest for Lava Generator describes it as running on lava.[5]
- The quest for Fuel Generator describes it as using liquid fuel to generate power.[5]

For energy, the quest "Storing Energy" quest covers the portable and large storage blocks, and "Transferring Energy" quest covers energy pipes, with the quest goal of smoothly moving 10k rf/t. The "Transporting items" quest and "Transporting liquids" quest quests cover item and fluid pipes. The pipe booster quest says a Pipe Booster uses power to boost the extraction speed of Oritech pipes.[5]

The drone port quest describes the Drone Port as the wireless option. It says two ports need a minimum of 50 blocks distance between them. Per the quest, sneak right-click your Target Designator on one port to store its location, then put the designator in the second port's UI.[5]
Stage 2: Ore processing
In the quest book, the Pulverizer and Centrifuge both unlock right after the starting quest. The quest calls the Centrifuge an important machine for your future endeavours. The Fragment Forge quest describes it as a better pulverizer that improves yield on all pulverisation recipes.[5]
For maximum output, the "Ore Processing" quest quest says to use a Centrifuge with a Fluid Addon, plus a Pulveriser or Fragment Forge. In "Spinning into gems" quest, clumps processed with Sulfuric Acid give gems. Water works too, but at a lower yield. The quest also warns that currently some recipes are broken and output dusts or nuggets.[5]
The pack changed the plain (no fluid) Centrifuge clump recipes for copper, gold, iron and nickel. They now give a gem plus a tiny dust of another metal. The platinum clump recipe is unchanged and gives Fluxite alongside the gem.[6]
Stage 3: Assembler and alloys
"Putting things together" quest unlocks the Assembler. Its quest text says it lets you craft newer items and also improves yield for some other items. The Processing Unit quest follows, described as a normal circuit.[5][6]
Crafting Shaped

Next is the Duratium Ingot, described by its quest as mixing netherite and platinum. You can also make it in the Atomic Forge. The pack also changed the duratium alloying recipes in compat machines.[5][6]
Atomic Forge (oritech)

2× Reinforced Carbon Sheet
- any platinum ingot
Recipe id: oritech:atomicforge/duratium
The pack changed all the Plutonium Pellet assembler recipes too. They come in basic, better and ultimate variants.[6]
Stage 4: Lasers, Fluxite and Enderic Compound
The Enderic Laser unlocks after the Assembler and Foundry quests. Its quest text lists these uses: transferring energy, transforming materials, breaking blocks and speeding up amethyst growth. The Hunter Addon quest says it allows the laser to target mobs.[5]
Fluxite is next. The quest asks you to charge an amethyst cluster with the laser: shift right-click your target designator on the cluster, then shift right-click the laser. The pack also has other Fluxite recipes, including an AE2 charger recipe, a Powah energizing recipe and a reaction recipe.[5][6]
The Enderic Compound quest says there are loads of ways to get it. Two Centrifuge recipes are confirmed: one from sculk, and one from ender pearl dust that the pack changed. Fluxite also feeds into the Flux Gate.[5][6]
Assembler (oritech)
Empty
2× Fluxite
Processing Unit
- any platinum ingot

Stage 5: The Atomic Forge and beyond
The Atomic Forge quest calls it the ultimate crafting machine. It says the machine is used to craft high value items and can only be powered by Enderic Lasers. It unlocks after the duratium, Enderic Compound and Flux Gate quests.[5]
Crafting Shaped
| any plastic plate | any plastic plate | |

From there the quests follow one chain: Silicon Wafer, then Advanced Computing Engine, then Super AI Chip, then Heisenberg Compensator. The Manhattan Module quest, Underwhelming, comes after the compensator and the Plutonium Pellet quest. The ATM Star chapter tracks the same item.[5][9]
Atomic Forge (oritech)
Empty
- any carbon fibre
- 2× any silicon
Recipe id: oritech:atomicforge/wafer
The ATM Star chapter also tracks the Superconductor, unlocked after the Assembler quest.[6][9]
Addons
In the quest book, the addon quests branch from a shared parent quest. They cover the capacitor, acceptor, efficiency, speed, fluid and auxiliary processing addons, plus the Machine Addon Extender. Its quest text says that placing it on an addon slot gives you more space for addons.[5]
Side routes and gear
The Productive Bees chapter has quests for Oritech materials: blocks of Duratium, Biosteel, Energite, Adamant and Fluxite, plus Sulfuric Acid and Sheol Fire buckets. Productive Metalworks casting recipes (changed by the pack) also turn molten metals into the same blocks.[6][8]
Exo Armor is for utility and exploration, not combat, and gives very little base protection. The Basic Tools chapter also has a quest for the Prometheum Pickaxe, labelled Tier: 4.[10][11]
How does Oritech work with other mods?
5 parts
Oritech plays well with others in this pack. The mod ships compatibility for Applied Energistics 2, Create, Ender IO, Immersive Engineering, Industrial Foregoing, Mekanism, PneumaticCraft: Repressurized, Powah! and Productive Metalworks. The pack's recipe list shows these links in use, and the pack adds a few of its own.[1][6]
Ore processing feeds the All the Ores items
Oritech's ore chains output the pack's shared metal items instead of keeping everything inside the mod. The pack changed the grinder recipes for raw metals so their main output is an All the Ores clump: Iron Clump, Copper Clump, Gold Clump, Nickel Clump or Platinum Clump. They also give Oritech's small clumps, and the small clumps can be crafted back up into the full clumps.[6]
One of the pack-changed grinder recipes for raw metals.
The Centrifuge then turns clumps into gems such as Iron Gem, and as a bonus you get a Modern Industrialization tiny dust. The Ore Processing quest says you need a Centrifuge with a Fluid Addon and either a Pulveriser or a Fragment Forge for this.[5][6]
Gems turn into ingots in several ways. Nickel Gem and Platinum Gem can become Nickel Ingot and Platinum Ingot in a furnace, a blast furnace, the Foundry, Immersive Engineering's alloy smelter and arc furnace, or a Create mixer. The Atomic Forge turns gems and Fluxite into the matching All the Ores dusts.[5][6]
The Refinery covers other metals too. With Sheol Fire, raw zinc, lead, osmium, tin, aluminum and silver all have refinery compat recipes. A Centrifuge with Sulfuric Acid also turns zinc, lead, osmium and tin clumps into a zinc nugget or dusts, and leaves Mineral Slurry behind.[5][6]
Alloys through Productive Metalworks and Mekanism
If you run a Productive Metalworks setup, you can melt Oritech gems and small clumps into molten metals and cast Oritech ingots from them. Molten diamond and nickel alloy into Molten Adamant, molten netherite and platinum into Molten Duratium, and molten fluxite and nickel into Molten Energite. Biofuel and molten iron give Molten Biosteel. Cast them with an Ingot Cast to get Adamant Ingot, Duratium Ingot, Energite Ingot and Biosteel Ingot.[6]
Fluid Alloying (productivemetalworks)
Recipe id: oritech:compat/productivemetalworks/alloying/adamant
One of the Productive Metalworks alloy routes, changed by the pack.
Mekanism's metallurgic infuser offers a dust route as well: diamond infusing with a nickel ingot gives Adamant Dust, and bio infusing with an iron ingot gives Biosteel Dust. The quest for the duratium ingot describes it as mixing netherite and platinum.[5][6]
Fuel, pipes and silicon
Turbofuel has two compat recipes in the Centrifuge: one uses Industrial Foregoing's Biofuel with fluxite, and the other uses PneumaticCraft's Crude Oil with fluxite. Oritech's cooler can also turn PneumaticCraft's Molten Plastic into Plastic Sheet. From Immersive Engineering, HOP Graphite Dust can be centrifuged into Carbon Fibre Strands.[6]
Ender IO's Conduit Binder is used in the pack's recipes for the Fluid Pipe and the Pump.[6]

For Applied Energistics 2, the refinery can wash sand with Silicon Wash to produce Silicon. You can also smelt Raw Silicon into the same AE2 silicon.[6]
Uranium and plutonium
The pack adds an Extended Crafting recipe for Uranite Crystal, shown below. You can break the crystal down into Raw Uranium, and the grinder version also gives Modern Industrialization's Plutonium Tiny Dust. Plutonium dust itself can come from an Oritech laser recipe, Powah's energizing, or Oritech's particle collision using fluxite and a uranium dust. The Deep Drill also yields All the Ores raw nickel, platinum and uranium from the matching resource nodes.[6]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Oritech?
6 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Oritech has its own big quest chapter, and in the quest book most of its quests come after a starting quest called Oritech Beginnings. From there it branches into power, logistics, ore processing, machine upgrades and a long late-game chain. A few Oritech items also show up in other chapters, and I cover those at the end.[3]
First steps: cores, crafting and power
- "Machine Cores" quest asks for the Primitive Machine Core. The quest text says you right-click machines with machine cores to build them, and that cores only affect the number of modifiers, not speed or efficiency directly.[3]
- "Putting things together" quest asks for the Assembler. The quest text says it does more than crafting, because it also improves yield for some other items.[3]
- "Basic Building Components" quest asks for the Magnetic Coil and the Motor. In the quest book it comes after Oritech Beginnings and the Assembler quest.[3]
- The generator quests all come after Oritech Beginnings. They ask for the Basic Generator (a quest in "Oritech"), the Bio Generator (a quest in "Oritech"), the Lava Generator (a quest in "Oritech") and the Fuel Generator (a quest in "Oritech").[3]
- "Storing Energy" quest asks for the Portable Energy Storage and the Large Energy Storage. "Transferring Energy" quest asks for the Energy Pipe, Framed Energy Pipe and Energy Pipe Duct, and its subtitle is about smoothly transferring 10k rf/t.[3]
Moving items and fluids
"Transporting items" quest asks for item pipes and the Item Filter. "Transporting liquids" quest asks for fluid pipes and the Portable Tank. a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Pipe Booster, and its quest text says to use power with it to boost extraction speed of Oritech pipes.[3]
a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Drone Port. Its quest text says drone ports require a minimum of 50 blocks distance to work. You place two of them and sneak right-click a Target Designator on one to store its location, then put the designator in the second port's UI.[3]
Ore processing
In the quest book you start with the Pulverizer (a quest in "Oritech"), then move to the Fragment Forge (a quest in "Oritech"), which the quest text says improves yield on all pulverisation recipes. The Centrifuge (a quest in "Oritech") is described as an important machine for your future endeavours. Its Fluid Addon has its own quest, a quest in "Oritech".[3]
"Ore Processing" quest asks for processed gems, such as the Iron Gem or Gold Gem. Its quest text says ore processing uses a Centrifuge with a Fluid Addon plus a Pulveriser or Fragment Forge. "Spinning into gems" quest says clumps processed with sulphuric acid give gems, while water gives a lower yield. Its note adds that currently some recipes are broken and output dusts or nuggets, so that applies to the quest text of this version. a quest in "Oritech" asks for Carbon Fibre Strands and comes after the Pulverizer and Centrifuge quests.[3]
Machine cores and addons
The core upgrades form a chain in the quest book. a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Improved Machine Core. After it come a quest in "Oritech" (Advanced Machine Core), a quest in "Oritech" (Elite Machine Core) and a quest in "Oritech" (Ultra Machine Core).[3]
The addon quests all share one prerequisite quest, which is not named in the chapter data. They ask for the Capacitor Addon (a quest in "Oritech"), Auxiliary Processing Chamber Addon (a quest in "Oritech"), Acceptor Addon (a quest in "Oritech"), Efficiency Addon (a quest in "Oritech"), Machine Addon Extender (a quest in "Oritech"), Speed Addon (a quest in "Oritech") and the Fluid Addon again (a quest in "Oritech"). The Hunter Addon quest, "Hurting Mobs" quest, comes after the laser quest below.[3]
Lasers, the Atomic Forge and the late game
- a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Foundry and an Adamant Ingot. It leads to a quest in "Oritech" for the Duratium Ingot.[3]
- a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Enderic Laser and the Target Designator, after the Assembler and Foundry quests. a quest in "Oritech" then asks you to charge amethyst with the laser to get Fluxite.[3]
- a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Processing Unit. Together with the fluxite quest it leads to a quest in "Oritech" for the Flux Gate. a quest in "Oritech" asks for Enderic Compound and follows the Centrifuge quest.[3]
- a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Atomic Forge. It needs the Duratium, Enderic Compound and Flux Gate quests first, and the quest says it can only be powered by Enderic Lasers.[3]
- After the Atomic Forge the chain runs a quest in "Oritech" (Silicon Wafer), a quest in "Oritech" (Advanced Computing Engine), a quest in "Oritech" (Super AI Chip) and a quest in "Oritech" (Heisenberg Compensator).[3]
- a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Manhattan Module. It needs the Heisenberg Compensator quest and a quest in "Oritech", which asks for the Plutonium Pellet.[3]
Other quests in the same chapter: a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Nuclear Reactor Controller, and a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Refinery and the Refinery Chamber Module, after a quest called Refining Ores.[3]
Oritech items in other chapters
- Chapter 4: The ATM Star has Oritech quests too: a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star" for the Large Energy Storage and a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star" for the Superconductor. Each of them comes after Putting things together.[4]
- Productive Bees has nine bee quests that each ask for a bee item (comb, spawn egg or cage) plus an Oritech item. They are "Duratium Bee" quest (Block of Duratium), "Biosteel Bee" quest (Block of Biosteel), "Energite Bee" quest (Block of Energite), "Adamant Bee" quest (Block of Adamant), "Sulfuric Acid Bee" quest (Sulfuric Acid Bucket), "Sheol fire Bee" quest (Sheol Fire Bucket), "Uranite Bee" quest (Uranite Crystal), "Fluxite Bee" quest (Block of Fluxite) and "Prometheum Bee" quest (Ultimate Machine Core, described as made in the Atomic Forge).[12]
- Basic Armor has "Exo Helmet" quest, which asks for the Exo Helmet, Exo Leggings, Exo Boots and one of the Exo Chestplate, Exo Jetpack or Boosted Exo Elytra. The quest describes the Exo Armor as built for utility and exploration, with very little base protection.[13]
- Basic Tools has a quest in "Basic Tools", which asks for the Prometheum Pickaxe.[14]
