Generator Galore is a mod in All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.1.0, where it is version 1.21.1-1.7.0. Adds a variety of simple generators (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Generator Galore?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide

Generator Galore adds item-fed generators that turn things you already have into energy. This pack ships version 1.21.1-1.7.0 of the mod, and it is a great way to get your first real power online.[1][2]

The pack has given the mod an overhaul, with cheaper upgrades to the 8x and 64x versions and increased energy production across the board. The quests also say the generator types and recipes have changed. There are no Copper, Gold or Diamond generators now. You get the Iron Generator, the Netherite Generator and a set of unique generators.[2][3]

Where it fits in the progression

You meet the mod in Chapter 1. "The Next Chapter" quest points you at the Magmatic Generator as a lava-powered way to start generating power and move into automation. Chapter 2 then opens the mod up with "Generator Galore" quest. Every generator except the Magmatic one starts from the Iron Generator.[2][3]

The generator lineup

8x and 64x generators

You can compress generators into 8x versions that run at the same rate and efficiency as 8 separate generators in a single machine. "8x the Generator!" quest covers this step. Combining 8x versions gives a 64x generator, which is the subject of "A whole stack in 1 Generator" quest.[2]

The ATM Star path

The mod also shows up in Chapter 4, The ATM Star. Two quests on that path ask for an Ender Generator and an 8x Netherstar Generator, so plan your power setup before you get there.[4]

How do you get started with Generator Galore?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide

Power comes first in this pack, and Generator Galore is where most of it starts. The pack has overhauled the mod: upgrades to the 8x and 64x versions are cheaper, and energy production is increased across the board. Here is the order I'd go in.[3]

Start with the Magmatic Generator

Your first power goal is the Magmatic Generator. The Chapter 1 quest "The Next Chapter" quest tells you to grab some hefty lava generation and get going, and "The Cool Parts" quest, which opens Chapter 2, asks for the same block. It is the one generator that does not start from the Iron Generator.[2][3]

Then the Iron Generator

Next, make the Iron Generator (quest "Generator Galore" quest, which comes after The Cool Parts). The pack changed the generator lineup: you no longer need Copper, Gold or Diamond generators, because the line is now Iron, Netherite and the unique generators. Every generator except the Magmatic one starts with the Iron Generator, and they all turn items into energy.[2]

Pick your next generator

After the Iron Generator, choose based on what your farms produce. These four recipes were all added by the pack and each one uses an Iron Generator.[5]

  • Netherite Generator works exactly like an Iron Generator, just much better.[2]
  • Culinary Generator takes food instead of coal, lava or logs. The more food points a food has, the more energy it gives, so steak beats a carrot.[2]
  • Ender Generator turns ender pearls into energy, which is handy if an Enderman farm leaves you with too many. You can even make Eyes of Ender for more energy.[2]
  • Enchantment Generator uses enchanted books. The level and rarity of the book change how much energy you get.[2]

Further down the line, the Netherstar Generator is described by its quest as the most powerful and efficient generator. In the quest book it comes after the Netherite Generator, and you build it from one.[2][5]

Compress into 8x and 64x

Once a generator is running well, don't keep placing more of them. Combine a generator with a Diamond Gear to get the 8x version, which works at the rate and efficiency of 8 generators in one machine (quest "8x the Generator!" quest). Then combine 8 of the 8x versions with a Netherite Gear to get a 64x version, a whole stack of generators in one block (quest "A whole stack in 1 Generator" quest). The pack changed these recipes.[2][5]

How does Generator Galore work?

6 parts

Generator Galore is built around tiers. Each generator has its own config file with a fuel type, a power output, a buffer and a transfer rate. Generators come as a normal block, an 8x version and, for many of them, a 64x version. This section covers how the tiers link together, what each one is set to in this pack, and which fuel values the pack changed.[6][7]

Copper has no previousTier entry, and the other generator configs each name the generator they come after. That gives you an upgrade tree. The mod also has upgrade items for these steps, such as the Gold to Diamond Upgrade and the Netherite to Netherstar Upgrade.[6][8][9]

  • Copper leads to Iron, and Iron leads to Gold.[9][10]
  • Gold leads to Diamond and to Culinary.[11][12]
  • Diamond leads to Emerald, Obsidian and Netherite.[13][14][15]
  • Obsidian leads to Magmatic, Enchantment and Ender.[16][17][18]
  • Ender leads to Halitosis.[19]
  • Culinary leads to Honey and to Potion.[20][21]
  • Netherite leads to Netherstar.[22]

8x and 64x versions

The pack changes how the bigger sizes are made. Each 8x generator has its own recipe, so does each 64x generator listed, and the recipe dump marks these as changed by the pack. Here are the 8x Iron Generator and a 64x example:[7]

Fuel types

Each generator config has a fuelType. In this pack Copper, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Emerald, Obsidian, Netherite, Netherstar and Halitosis are SOLID.[8][9][10][11][13][14][15][19][22]

Magmatic and Honey are FLUID, Culinary is FOOD, Potion is POTION and Enchantment is ENCHANTMENT. The Honey Generator uses the fuelTag c:honey and the Netherstar Generator uses c:nether_stars. The Ender config has no fuelType entry in this pack, and its fuels (ender pearls and eyes of ender) are defined in the solid fuel data file instead.[12][16][17][18][20][21][22][23]

What each tier is set to

Every generator config has bufferCapacity, generationRate, consumptionRate and transferRate. The generator screen shows the remaining fuel time and the transfer rate in FE/t. These are the pack's generationRate, bufferCapacity and transferRate values for each generator:[6]

  • Copper: generation 8, buffer 5,000, transfer 32.[8]
  • Iron: generation 80, buffer 20,000, transfer 240.[9]
  • Gold: generation 32, buffer 30,000, transfer 128.[10]
  • Diamond: generation 64, buffer 100,000, transfer 256.[11]
  • Emerald: generation 256, buffer 500,000, transfer 512.[13]
  • Obsidian: generation 128, buffer 500,000, transfer 512.[14]
  • Netherite: generation 512, buffer 1,000,000, transfer 2,048.[15]
  • Netherstar: generation 8,184, buffer 20,000,000, transfer 32,768.[22]
  • Culinary: generation 8, buffer 100,000, transfer 256.[12]
  • Honey: generation 128, buffer 500,000, transfer 512.[20]
  • Potion: generation 16, buffer 250,000, transfer 1,024.[21]
  • Magmatic: generation 160, buffer 500,000, transfer 2,048.[16]
  • Enchantment: generation 80, buffer 1,000,000, transfer 2,048.[17]
  • Ender: generation 160, buffer 500,000, transfer 512.[18]
  • Halitosis: generation 256, buffer 9,800,000, transfer 16,384.[19]

Server settings

The server config General.increasedConsumption is true in this pack. That makes the 8x and 64x versions raise the consumption rate as well as the production rate, instead of only the production rate.[24]

General.tickRate is 5, the same as the mod default, and accepts values from 1 to 64. It controls how often a generator ticks, and the config suggests raising it if you have performance issues.[24]

Fuel values the pack changed

The pack overrides the fuel data for the Ender, Halitosis and Magmatic generators, and in each case the generation rate is higher than the mod's own default.[23][25][26][27]

  • Ender Generator with an ender pearl: burn time 1,600 and generation 192 in the pack, against 96 in the mod default.[23][27]
  • Ender Generator with an eye of ender: burn time 3,200 and generation 160 in the pack, against 80 in the mod default.[23][27]
  • Halitosis Generator with dragon breath: burn time 12,000 and generation 256 in the pack, against 128 in the mod default.[23][27]
  • Magmatic Generator with lava: consumption 0.6 and generation 160 in the pack, against a consumption of 0.4 and a much lower generation rate in the mod default.[25][26]
Tip: If you have seen other Generator Galore numbers online, they probably come from the mod defaults. The values above are what this pack uses.[23][25][26][27]

One thing to watch: the Magmatic Generator's own config file lists a consumptionRate of 0.8, while the pack's lava fuel entry lists 0.6. Both are in the pack's files, and the generation rate is 160 in both.[16][25]

How do you progress through Generator Galore?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide

Generator Galore has been overhauled in this pack. The upgrades to 8x and 64x are cheaper, and energy production is increased across the board. The tiers are also reshuffled: you don't climb through Copper, Gold and Diamond generators anymore. The pack only has Iron, Netherite and a set of unique generators.[2][3]

Getting started

Your first push toward generators is the Chapter 1 quest "The Next Chapter" quest, which asks for the Magmatic Generator. Chapter 2 opens with "The Cool Parts" quest, which asks for the same item. The Magmatic Generator is the one generator that doesn't start from the Iron Generator, so it's your entry point.[2][3]

The tier branches

After the Iron Generator quest, the quest line splits into several branches. Here is what each generator is for.[2]

Tip: The quest book says you can farm Dragon's Breath with an Extractor from XyCraft and a Dragon's Head, which gives the Halitosis Generator a steady supply.[2]

Recipes for each step

The Culinary, Enchantment, Ender and Netherite generators are all crafted from an Iron Generator. The Netherstar Generator is crafted from a Netherite Generator.[5]

Compressing into 8x and 64x

Once you have a generator type running, "8x the Generator!" quest shows how to compress it. Eight of the same generator plus a Diamond Gear become one 8x generator, which runs at the rate and efficiency of eight generators in a single machine. Every tier has an 8x version, including the Iron Generator. The pack changed all of these 8x recipes.[2][5]

The Iron version as an example. Every tier's 8x recipe follows the same pattern.

"A whole stack in 1 Generator" quest takes it one step further. Eight 8x generators plus a Netherite Gear become a 64x generator, a whole stack of generators in one block. The 64x quest lists every tier except Iron, and the recipe list likewise has no 64x Iron Generator.[2][5]

The Netherstar version as an example. Every 64x recipe follows the same pattern.

The Netherstar Generator and its 8x version show up again as quest tasks in Chapter 4, along with the Ender Generator. Those quests have no description text, so we can't say more about them.[4]

How does Generator Galore work with other mods?

4 parts

Generator Galore plugs into the rest of the pack mostly through crafting. The pack changes how the bigger generator tiers are made, and it also uses a few of your generators as ingredients in other mods' progression items. Here is what the recipes and quests show.[7][28]

Gears from All The Ores

Compressing generators needs gears from All The Ores, and the pack has changed these recipes. An 8x generator takes a Diamond Gear with the base generator. A 64x generator takes a Netherite Gear with the 8x version. This applies to every generator type that has these tiers, for example the Culinary Generator line.[7]

The 8x step uses a Diamond Gear, and the pack changed this recipe.

The 64x step uses a Netherite Gear, and the pack changed this recipe.

The quest book explains the same thing in "8x the Generator!" quest and "A whole stack in 1 Generator" quest. An 8x generator works at the same rate and efficiency as 8 generators, just in one machine. A 64x generator is a whole stack of generators in one block.[28]

The Netherstar Generator recipe

The pack adds its own recipe for the Netherstar Generator, using an item from the pack's own tweaks and a vanilla drop. The quest book places it right after the Netherite Generator quest and calls it the most powerful and efficient generator.[7][28]

This recipe is added by the pack.

Generators as ingredients elsewhere

Two pack-added recipes use Generator Galore blocks as ingredients for items from the pack's own tweaks. The Philosopher's Fuel recipe needs an Ender Generator alongside blocks and items from several other mods, including Draconic Evolution, Ender IO and Mystical Agradditions.[7]

This recipe is added by the pack.

The Wither's Compass recipe needs 8x Netherstar Generator, so you have to compress your Netherstar Generators before you can make it. Other ingredients come from Actually Additions, Industrial Foregoing and Reliquary.[7]

The generators sit in "Chapter 2: The Cool Parts", in the "Skyblock Quests" group (chapter 3 of 54 in the book). "Generator Galore" quest comes right after the first quest of that chapter, and several of the other generator quests come after it.[28]

Chapter 2 has 57 more quests whose text is not shown here, so check the quest book for those.[28]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Generator Galore?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide

Generator Galore shows up in three quest chapters in this pack. Most of it sits in Chapter 2, where one quest line walks you through every generator type. Chapter 1 gives you the first push and Chapter 4 has a couple of extra hand-in quests.[2][3][4]

Chapter 1: Starting out

"The Next Chapter" quest asks you to get a Magmatic Generator. It unlocks after the Stone Generator, Smelting iron with iron and Crushing Compressed Blocks quests. The quest says the mod got an overhaul in this pack, with cheaper upgrades to the 8x and 64x versions and increased energy production across the board. It also points you toward lava-powered generation as your first real power source.[3]

Chapter 2: The Cool Parts

This is the main chapter. It opens with "The Cool Parts" quest, which asks for another Magmatic Generator and tells you to start thinking about farms. The rest follows in this order:[2]

  1. "Generator Galore" quest asks for an Iron Generator. The quest explains that the generator types and recipes changed in this pack. Copper, Gold and Diamond generators are gone, leaving Iron, Netherite and the unique generators. Every generator except the Magmatic one starts from the Iron Generator.[2]
  2. "Netherite Generator" quest asks for a Netherite Generator, which works like the Iron Generator but much better. a quest in "Chapter 2: The Cool Parts" follows it and asks for a Netherstar Generator, described as the most powerful and efficient generator.[2]
  3. a quest in "Chapter 2: The Cool Parts" asks for a Culinary Generator, which burns food. The more food points a food has, the more energy it gives, so steak beats a carrot. Two quests unlock after it: "Honey Generator" quest for the Honey Generator, which runs on liquid honey, and "Potion Generator" quest for the Potion Generator, which turns potions into energy based on strength and duration.[2]
  4. "Ender Generator" quest asks for an Ender Generator, which burns Ender Pearls. You can make Eyes of Ender for even more energy. "Halitosis Generator" quest follows with the Halitosis Generator, which runs on Dragon's Breath.[2]
  5. "Enchantment Generator" quest asks for an Enchantment Generator, which turns Enchanted Books into energy. The level and rarity of the book change how much you get.[2]
  6. "8x the Generator!" quest asks for any one of the 8x generators, such as the 8x Iron Generator. An 8x generator matches the rate and efficiency of 8 generators in one machine. "A whole stack in 1 Generator" quest comes after it and asks for any 64x generator, such as the 64x Netherite Generator. The quest has no Iron Generator in its 64x list.[2]

Chapter 4: The ATM Star

This chapter has untitled quests that ask for an Ender Generator (a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star") and for a 8x Netherstar Generator (a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star"). Neither has a description in the quest data.[4]

Which Generator Galore config options matter?

3 parts

In this pack, Generator Galore is configured through one server file for global behaviour and one file per generator tier that sets its power numbers. Here is what you will most likely want to look at.[8][24]

Server config

  • General.tickRate is 5, which is also the mod default (range 1 to 64). It controls how often generators tick, and the file's own note says to raise it if you have performance issues.[24]
  • General.increasedConsumption is true. That makes 8x and 64x generators raise their consumption rate, not just their production rate. The file notes this is meant to be on by default in 1.22.[24]

Per-generator files

Each tier has its own json file under config/generatorgalore/generator. The main keys are bufferCapacity, generationRate, consumptionRate and transferRate, plus fuelType and previousTier, which names the tier before it. Here is how the pack sets the metal line.[8][9][10]

  • Copper: generationRate is 8, consumptionRate is 1.2, bufferCapacity is 5,000 and transferRate is 32. Its fuelType is SOLID.[8]
  • Iron: generationRate 80, consumptionRate 1, bufferCapacity 20,000, transferRate 240.[9]
  • Gold: generationRate 32, consumptionRate 0.8, bufferCapacity 30,000, transferRate 128.[10]
  • Diamond: generationRate 64, consumptionRate 0.6, bufferCapacity 100,000, transferRate 256.[11]
  • Emerald: generationRate 256, consumptionRate 0.4, bufferCapacity 500,000, transferRate 512.[13]
  • Obsidian: generationRate 128, consumptionRate 0.6, bufferCapacity 500,000, transferRate 512.[14]
  • Netherite: generationRate 512, consumptionRate 0.4, bufferCapacity 1,000,000, transferRate 2,048.[15]
  • Nether star: generationRate 8,184, consumptionRate 2,400, bufferCapacity 20,000,000, transferRate 32,768, burning items from the c:nether_stars tag.[22]

Look closely and you will see iron (generationRate 80) is set higher than gold (generationRate 32) in this pack, so don't assume the numbers rise in tier order. The has64x key is set to false for copper, iron, gold, diamond, emerald and obsidian.[8][9][10][11][13][14]

Other generators

  • Culinary uses FOOD fuel: generationRate 8, bufferCapacity 100,000, transferRate 256.[12]
  • Potion uses POTION fuel: generationRate 16, bufferCapacity 250,000, transferRate 1,024.[21]
  • Enchantment uses ENCHANTMENT fuel: generationRate 80, bufferCapacity 1,000,000, transferRate 2,048.[17]
  • Magmatic uses FLUID fuel: generationRate 160, consumptionRate 0.8, bufferCapacity 500,000, transferRate 2,048.[16]
  • Honey uses FLUID fuel from the c:honey tag: generationRate 128, consumptionRate 0.5, bufferCapacity 500,000, transferRate 512.[20]
  • Ender: generationRate 160, consumptionRate 1, bufferCapacity 500,000, transferRate 512.[18]
  • Halitosis uses SOLID fuel: generationRate 256, bufferCapacity 9,800,000, transferRate 16,384.[19]
Tip: The nether star generator has a consumptionRate of 2,400, while iron sits at 1. With increasedConsumption on, upgraded 8x and 64x generators also consume more, not just produce more, so plan your fuel supply.[9][22][24]
