What is Generator Galore?
3 parts
Generator Galore adds generators that turn items into energy. The pack includes version 1.21.1-1.6.3 of the mod, and it is the power source most players start with.[1][2]
The pack gave the mod an overhaul. Upgrades to the 8x and 64x versions are cheaper, and energy production is higher across the board. The old Copper, Gold and Diamond generators are gone. You now get the Iron Generator, the Netherite Generator and a set of unique generators.[2][3]
Where it fits in progression
The Magmatic Generator is your first stop. The Chapter 1 quest "The Next Chapter" quest tells you to grab a hefty lava generator to get your first bits of power, and the Chapter 2 opener "The Cool Parts" quest asks for it too. After that, "Generator Galore" quest unlocks the rest. Every other generator starts from the Iron Generator.[2][3]
The Netherite Generator works like the Iron Generator but is much better. The Netherstar Generator unlocks after it and is described as the most powerful and efficient generator.[2]
The unique generators
- Culinary Generator burns food. The energy depends on the food points, so steak beats a carrot.[2]
- Enchantment Generator burns enchanted books. Their level and rarity change the energy you get.[2]
- Ender Generator turns ender pearls into energy, and Eyes of Ender give even more.[2]
- Halitosis Generator makes energy from Dragon's Breath.[2]
- Honey Generator runs on liquid honey.[2]
- Potion Generator burns potions. Their strength and duration set the energy.[2]
Compressed versions
Each generator can be compressed into an 8x version, which works at the same rate and efficiency as 8 generators in a single machine. Eight 8x generators then compress into a 64x version, a whole stack of generators in one block. The quest for the 64x versions lists every type except the Iron Generator.[2]
How do you get started with Generator Galore?
4 parts
Generator Galore got an overhaul in this pack. Upgrades to the 8x and 64x versions are cheaper, and energy production is increased across the board. The generators still turn items into energy, but the types and recipes have changed, so old habits from other packs may not apply. You only deal with the Iron Generator, the Netherite Generator and a handful of unique generators.[2][3]
Step 1: the Magmatic Generator
Your first power source is the Magmatic Generator. The Chapter 1 quest sends you to it with the hint to grab a hefty lava generator and get going, and the Chapter 2 opener asks for it too. It is the one generator that does not start from an Iron Generator.[2][3]

Step 2: the Iron Generator
Next, make the Iron Generator. Every generator except the Magmatic one starts from it, so it is the base for everything else you build here.[2]

This recipe is added by the pack.
Step 3: pick your upgrades
From the Iron Generator you can branch out. The Netherite Generator works exactly like the Iron Generator, just much better. The Culinary Generator burns food instead of coal, lava or logs. The more food points a food has, the more energy it gives, so steak beats a carrot.[2]

The Culinary Generator is built from the Iron Generator, and the pack added this recipe.
The Ender Generator turns spare Ender Pearls into energy, which is handy if you run an Enderman farm. The Enchantment Generator burns Enchanted Books, and their level and rarity change how much energy you get.[2]
- The Halitosis Generator is built from the Ender Generator and burns Dragon's Breath.[2][4]
- The Honey Generator and Potion Generator are both built from the Culinary Generator. They burn liquid honey and potions respectively.[2][4]
- The Netherstar Generator is built from the Netherite Generator and is described as the most powerful and efficient generator.[2][4]
Step 4: compress into 8x and 64x
Once a generator is running well, you can pack it into one block. Combining 8 of the same generator with a Diamond Gear makes an 8x version that runs at the rate and efficiency of 8 generators. Combining 8 of the 8x versions with a Netherite Gear makes a 64x version, a whole stack of generators in one block. The pack changed these recipes. Here is the Magmatic example.[2][4]

How does Generator Galore work?
5 parts
Generator Galore is a tiered generator mod, and in this pack every generator type is driven by its own config file. Each file sets the same handful of values: how much energy the generator can store, how fast it burns fuel, how fast it generates, how fast it pushes energy out, and which generator it upgrades from. Once you know those values, you can compare every generator in the mod.[5][6][7]
When you open a generator, its screen shows the remaining fuel time and the transfer rate in FE/t.[8]
What each generator burns
The config's fuel type decides what you feed a generator. The pack uses solid, food, fluid, potion and enchantment fuel types.[5][6][9][10][11]
- Solid fuel: Copper, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Emerald, Obsidian, Netherite, Halitosis and Netherstar. The Netherstar generator is restricted to the c:nether_stars tag.[5][7][12][13][14][15][16][17][18]
- Food: the Culinary Generator.[4][6]
- Fluid: the Honey Generator, which uses the c:honey tag, and the Magmatic Generator.[4][10][19]
- Potion: the Potion Generator.[4][11]
- Enchantment: the Enchantment Generator.[8][9]
Pack stats for every generator
These are the values this pack sets in each generator's config. The files do not state units for generation and consumption, so treat them as relative numbers. The transfer rate is shown in FE/t on the generator screen. Buffer is the bufferCapacity value.[5][6][8]
- Copper: buffer 5,000, consumption 1.2, generation 8, transfer 32.[5]
- Iron: buffer 20,000, consumption 1, generation 80, transfer 240.[12]
- Gold: buffer 30,000, consumption 0.8, generation 32, transfer 128.[13]
- Culinary: buffer 100,000, consumption 1, generation 8, transfer 256.[6]
- Diamond: buffer 100,000, consumption 0.6, generation 64, transfer 256.[7]
- Emerald: buffer 500,000, consumption 0.4, generation 256, transfer 512.[14]
- Obsidian: buffer 500,000, consumption 0.6, generation 128, transfer 512.[15]
- Honey: buffer 500,000, consumption 0.5, generation 128, transfer 512.[10]
- Potion: buffer 250,000, consumption 1, generation 16, transfer 1,024.[11]
- Enchantment: buffer 1,000,000, consumption 1, generation 80, transfer 2,048.[9]
- Ender: buffer 500,000, consumption 1, generation 160, transfer 512.[20]
- Magmatic: buffer 500,000, consumption 0.8, generation 160, transfer 2,048.[19]
- Netherite: buffer 1,000,000, consumption 0.4, generation 512, transfer 2,048.[16]
- Halitosis: buffer 9,800,000, consumption 1, generation 256, transfer 16,384.[17]
- Netherstar: buffer 20,000,000, consumption 2,400, generation 8,184, transfer 32,768.[18]
The upgrade tree
Each config has a previousTier value, so the generators form a tree. You move up it with upgrade items, and the item names match the tree below.[6][7][8]
- Copper to Iron (Copper to Iron Upgrade), then Iron to Gold (Iron to Gold Upgrade).[8][12][13]
- From Gold you can go to Culinary (Gold to Culinary Upgrade) or to Diamond (Gold to Diamond Upgrade).[6][7][8]
- From Diamond you can go to Emerald, Obsidian or Netherite, using the Diamond to Emerald, Diamond to Obsidian and Diamond to Netherite upgrades.[8][14][15][16]
- From Obsidian you can go to Enchantment, Ender or Magmatic, using the matching Obsidian upgrade items.[8][9][19][20]
- From Culinary you can go to Honey or Potion, using the Culinary to Honey and Culinary to Potion upgrades.[8][10][11]
- From Ender you go to Halitosis (Ender to Halitosis Upgrade), and from Netherite you go to Netherstar (Netherite to Netherstar Upgrade).[8][16][17][18]
The pack changed the recipes for the Honey, Potion and Halitosis generators. Each is crafted from the generator before it in the tree. Here is the Honey Generator as an example:[4]

8x and 64x generators
Many generators have stronger 8x and 64x versions. The pack changed all of these recipes: the 8x version is made from the base generator, and the 64x version builds on the 8x one. Iron has an 8x recipe but no 64x recipe, and the configs for Copper, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Emerald and Obsidian all set has64x to false.[4][5][7][12][13][14][15]

Tick rate and performance
General.tickRate controls how often generators tick. The pack leaves it at the mod default of 5, with an allowed range of 1 to 64.[21]
How do you progress through Generator Galore?
4 parts
In this pack, Generator Galore has been overhauled: upgrades to 8x and 64x are cheaper, and energy production is increased across the board. The tier list is also trimmed down. The quests say you no longer need Copper, Gold or Diamond Generators. You just have Iron, Netherite and a set of unique generators.[2][3]
Your first generators
The Chapter 1 quest "The Next Chapter" quest sends you to the Magmatic Generator for your first bit of power, and its text calls it a hefty lava gen. "The Cool Parts" quest opens Chapter 2 with the same item. The pack adds its own recipe for it, shown below.[2][3][4]

Netherite and Netherstar
"Netherite Generator" quest has you make the Netherite Generator. The quest says it works exactly like an Iron Generator, just much better. After that, a quest in "Chapter 2: The Cool Parts" unlocks the Netherstar Generator, which the quest calls the most powerful and efficient generator.[2]

Unique generators
The unique generators each burn a different kind of item. Culinary, Ender and Enchantment unlock right after the Generator Galore quest, while Halitosis, Honey and Potion unlock a step later.[2]
- Culinary Generator (a quest in "Chapter 2: The Cool Parts"): burns food. The energy depends on the food points, so steak gives more than a carrot.[2]
- Ender Generator ("Ender Generator" quest): turns Ender Pearls into energy, and Eyes of Ender give even more.[2]
- Enchantment Generator ("Enchantment Generator" quest): uses Enchanted Books. Their level and rarity change how much energy you get.[2]
- Halitosis Generator ("Halitosis Generator" quest): unlocks after the Ender Generator quest and makes energy from Dragon's Breath.[2]
- Honey Generator ("Honey Generator" quest): unlocks after the Culinary quest and runs on Liquid Honey.[2]
- Potion Generator ("Potion Generator" quest): also unlocks after the Culinary quest. It turns potions into energy based on their strength and duration.[2]
Here are the in-pack recipes for each one. The Halitosis, Honey and Potion recipes build on an earlier unique generator rather than the Iron Generator.[4]

8x and 64x upgrades
"8x the Generator!" quest introduces compressed generators. Combining 8 of the same generator makes an 8x version that works at the rate and efficiency of 8 generators in a single machine. The pack changed these recipes, and every 8x recipe in the sources, including the Iron Generator, uses the same pattern.[2][4]

Recipe id: generatorgalore:8x/iron_generator_8x
The pack changed this recipe, and the other 8x recipes follow the same pattern.
"A whole stack in 1 Generator" quest goes one step further: eight 8x generators make a 64x generator, which is a whole stack of generators in one block. Nine generator types have a 64x recipe in the pack. The Iron Generator has no 64x recipe in the sources.[2][4]

How does Generator Galore work with other mods?
3 parts
Generator Galore connects to the rest of the pack mostly through recipes. The pack changed the upgrade recipes for the generators and added a few recipes that tie them to items from other mods. A few quests also point you towards other mods.[2][4]
Gears from All The Ores
Compressing generators relies on gears from another mod. To make an 8x generator, you combine the base generator with a Diamond Gear. To make a 64x generator, you combine the matching 8x generator with a Netherite Gear. The pack changed all of these recipes. The quests back this up: an 8x generator works at the rate and efficiency of 8 generators in one machine, and a 64x generator is a whole stack of generators in one block.[2][4]

Pack-added recipes that use generators
The Netherstar Generator has a recipe added by the pack, shown below. It builds on the Netherite Generator. In the quest book, the Netherstar Generator quest comes right after the Netherite Generator quest.[2][4]

Connections mentioned in the quests
- The Honey Generator quest calls the Honey Generator a good way of connecting Generator Galore with Productive Bees. It makes energy from Liquid Honey. "Honey Generator" quest[2]
- The Ender Generator quest suggests using the spare Ender Pearls from an Endermen farm that you built for XP or Apotheosis Gems. It adds that you can make Eyes of Ender for even more energy. "Ender Generator" quest[2]
- The Halitosis Generator quest says you can farm Dragon's Breath with an extractor from XyCraft and a Dragon's Head. That feeds the Halitosis Generator. "Halitosis Generator" quest[2]
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Generator Galore?
3 parts
Generator Galore shows up in two quest chapters: the tail end of Chapter 1 and then most of Chapter 2, where it gets its own branching questline. Here is the order you'll meet them in.[2][3]
Chapter 1: Starting out
The mod's first quest is "The Next Chapter" quest, and it asks you to get a Magmatic Generator. It unlocks after Stone Generator, Smelting iron with iron and Crushing Compressed Blocks. The quest text says the mod got an overhaul in this pack, with cheaper upgrades to 8x and 64x and increased energy production across the board.[3]
Chapter 2: The Cool Parts
"The Cool Parts" quest kicks off the chapter and asks for the Magmatic Generator again. Next comes "Generator Galore" quest, which asks for an Iron Generator. Its text explains that the mod's types and recipes changed in this pack. There are no Copper, Gold or Diamond generators any more, just Iron, Netherite and the unique generators. Every generator except the Magmatic one starts from the Iron Generator.[2]
After Generator Galore the chapter splits into branches. These four quests all unlock right after it:[2]
- "Netherite Generator" quest asks for a Netherite Generator, which works like an Iron Generator but much better.[2]
- The quest a quest in "Chapter 2: The Cool Parts" asks for a Culinary Generator. It burns food instead of coal, lava or logs, and the energy depends on the food points, so steak gives more than a carrot.[2]
- "Ender Generator" quest asks for an Ender Generator, which turns Ender Pearls into energy. The quest also says Eyes of Ender give even more.[2]
- "Enchantment Generator" quest asks for an Enchantment Generator, which runs on Enchanted Books. Their level and rarity change how much energy you get.[2]
"8x the Generator!" quest is the fifth quest that unlocks after Generator Galore. It accepts any one of the 8x generators, including the 8x Iron Generator. An 8x generator works at the same rate and efficiency as 8 generators, but in a single machine.[2]
Further down the branches
- a quest in "Chapter 2: The Cool Parts" unlocks after the Netherite Generator quest and asks for a Netherstar Generator. The quest calls it the most powerful and efficient generator.[2]
- "Halitosis Generator" quest unlocks after the Ender Generator quest and asks for a Halitosis Generator, which makes energy from Dragon's Breath.[2]
- "Honey Generator" quest unlocks after the Culinary quest and asks for a Honey Generator, which uses Liquid Honey.[2]
- "Potion Generator" quest also unlocks after the Culinary quest and asks for a Potion Generator. The energy depends on the potion's strength and duration.[2]
- "A whole stack in 1 Generator" quest unlocks after the 8x quest and asks for any 64x generator, such as the 64x Netherite Generator. The quest text describes it as a whole stack of generators in one block. Iron is not among the generators it accepts.[2]
Which Generator Galore config options matter?
5 parts
In this pack, Generator Galore is configured through a server file for global settings and a JSON file for each generator tier. Here is how the pack sets the options you are most likely to care about.[5][21]
Server settings
- General.tickRate is 5 in this pack, the same as the mod default. It controls how often generators tick, and the allowed range is 1 to 64. The file's comment says to raise it if you have performance issues.[21]
- General.increasedConsumption is true in this pack. That makes the 8x and 64x versions increase the consumption rate, not just the production rate. The file's comment says this will be on by default in 1.22.[21]
Per-generator values
Each tier has its own JSON file with a buffer capacity, a consumption rate, a generation rate and a transfer rate. These are the values this pack ships for the main metal tiers.[5][7][12][13][14][15][16]
- Copper: generationRate is 8, consumptionRate is 1.2, bufferCapacity is 5,000 and transferRate is 32.[5]
- Iron: generation 80, consumption 1, buffer 20,000, transfer 240. Its previous tier is copper.[12]
- Gold: generation 32, consumption 0.8, buffer 30,000, transfer 128. Its previous tier is iron.[13]
- Diamond: generation 64, consumption 0.6, buffer 100,000, transfer 256. Its previous tier is gold.[7]
- Emerald: generation 256, consumption 0.4, buffer 500,000, transfer 512. Its previous tier is diamond.[14]
- Obsidian: generation 128, consumption 0.6, buffer 500,000, transfer 512. Its previous tier is diamond.[15]
- Netherite: generation 512, consumption 0.4, buffer 1,000,000, transfer 2,048. Its previous tier is diamond.[16]
The top end
- Nether star: generationRate is 8,184, consumptionRate is 2,400, bufferCapacity is 20,000,000 and transferRate is 32,768. Its fuel tag is c:nether_stars and its previous tier is netherite.[18]
- Halitosis: generation 256, consumption 1, buffer 9,800,000, transfer 16,384. Its previous tier is ender.[17]
Fuel types
- Copper, iron, gold, diamond, emerald, obsidian, netherite, nether star and halitosis are all set to the SOLID fuel type.[5][7][12][13][14][15][16][17][18]
- Culinary uses FOOD, enchantment uses ENCHANTMENT, and potion uses POTION.[6][9][11]
- Honey and magmatic use FLUID. Honey's fuel tag is c:honey.[10][19]
- The ender file has no fuel type entry.[20]
64x option
The has64x option is set to false for copper, iron, gold, diamond, emerald and obsidian in this pack.[5][7][12][13][14][15]
