Stuck? Why it might not be working
- Apothic Attributes: 100 armour and you still get one-shotIn All the Mods 10 8.2 and five other packs, Apothic Attributes replaces the game's armour formula outright and armour no longer has a floor: at 100 armour you take 9% of a 10-damage hit and 67% of a 400-damage hit, where the old rule held you at 20% of anything. Armor Toughness stops reducing damage at all. Nothing in the game states the formula, and the one line about toughness reads as reassurance.Written for other versions than FTB StoneBlock 4 1.23.0 ships. Some steps may no longer match.

What is Apothic Attributes?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.2 guide
This pack ships Apothic Attributes 2.10.1, using the file ApothicAttributes-1.21.1-2.10.1.jar. It was first included in version 0.32 or earlier, so it has been part of the pack for a good while.[1]
Unverified No guidebook or platform description for Apothic Attributes was available when this guide was written, so what the mod adds in this pack is unconfirmed here. Check the other sections of this guide for any details that could be confirmed.
How do you get started with Apothic Attributes?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide
This mod is about stats. It adds extra attributes on top of the vanilla ones, plus a few status effects. For this pack, I can't confirm a first item to craft or a quest that introduces it, so this section is a short tour of what you will see in-game.[2]
Stats worth learning first
- Crit Chance is the chance any damage you deal critically strikes. Crit Damage is the multiplier for those hits, and it includes vanilla jump crits.[2]
- Dodge Chance is the chance to dodge a melee attack or a projectile.[2]
- Life Steal heals you for a percentage of post-mitigation damage. Overheal turns a percentage of that damage into an absorption shield instead.[2]
- Mining Speed is how fast you mine blocks compared to normal, and Draw Speed is how fast you draw bows, crossbows or tridents.[2]
- Experience Gained is a multiplier on the experience you get from breaking blocks and killing mobs.[2]
Damage and armor stats
Fire Damage and Cold Damage add bonus magic damage to melee attacks. Fire burns the enemy, and cold slows them. Current HP Damage adds bonus physical damage based on the target's health.[2]
Armor Pierce is a flat reduction to the target's armor value, while Armor Shred is a percentage reduction. Prot Pierce and Prot Shred do the same to the target's protection point total. On the defensive side, Armor Toughness reduces the effectiveness of enemy armor reduction.[2]
Effects you may run into
Bleeding inflicts damage every two seconds. Sundering increases the damage the affected target receives. Flaming Detonation deals damage on expiry, based on the fire ticks remaining.[2]
The mod also has a button labelled Hide Unchanged Attributes. It's handy for cutting down the list of stats to the ones that differ from normal.[2]
Unverified No crafting recipes, quests or config options for this mod could be confirmed for this pack, so there is no verified first item to make.
How does Apothic Attributes work?
5 parts
Apothic Attributes has no machines, multiblocks, power or pipes to set up. It works through attributes, the numbers attached to you, your gear and mobs, and through a handful of status effects. The mod supplies the in-game descriptions for these stats, so this section walks through what each group does.[3]
Offence: crits, piercing and bonus damage
- Crit Chance is the chance any damage you deal is a critical strike. Crit Damage is the multiplier on those hits, and it includes vanilla jump crits.[3]
- Armor Pierce is a flat reduction to the target's armor value, while Armor Shred is a percentage reduction to it.[3]
- Prot Pierce is a flat reduction to the target's protection point total, and Prot Shred is the percentage version.[3]
- Current HP Damage adds bonus physical damage on melee attacks, based on the target's health.[3]
- Fire Damage adds bonus magic damage on melee attacks and burns the enemy. Cold Damage does the same with magic damage but slows the enemy instead.[3]
Ranged attributes
Arrow Damage is a damage multiplier for arrows, and tridents count as arrows. Arrow Velocity multiplies arrow speed, and arrow damage scales with velocity, so it boosts your damage too. Draw Speed controls how fast you draw bows, crossbows and tridents. Projectile Damage is a multiplier for all outgoing projectiles.[3]
Survival and utility
- Life Steal heals you for a percentage of post-mitigation damage, and Overheal turns a percentage of post-mitigation damage into an absorption shield.[3]
- Dodge Chance is the chance to dodge a melee attack or a projectile.[3]
- Healing Received multiplies all incoming healing.[3]
- Mining Speed is how fast you mine compared to normal. Experience Gained multiplies the experience you get from breaking blocks and killing mobs.[3]
- Creative Flight lets you fly as if in Creative Mode, and Elytra Flight lets you fly as if wearing an Elytra.[3]
- Cooldown Reduction shortens the cooldown of triggered abilities and effects.[3]
The mod also adds descriptions for vanilla attributes such as armor, attack speed and luck. There is a button labelled "Hide Unchanged Attributes" to cut down the list.[3]
Effects
Bleeding inflicts damage every two seconds. Flaming Detonation deals damage on expiry, based on the remaining fire ticks. Sundering increases the damage the target receives. The mod also adds Flying, Ancient Knowledge, Grievous Wounds and Bursting Vitality. Potions list the last two as Healing Reduction and Healing Boost.[3]
What this pack does with it
The pack adds its own smithing recipe for the Skullfire Sword. The result carries extra mainhand modifiers: Current HP Damage with an amount of 0.05000000074505806, Armor Pierce of 4.0 and Fire Damage of 15.0. These come from the pack's recipe script, not from the mod's defaults.[4][5]
The pack's void biome also uses the mod. A script refreshes the Flying effect on players standing in the minecraft:the_void biome every 80 ticks, with a duration value of 200.[6]
The pack's random "Stick Event" has a 0.2 chance and hands you a renamed stick with an attribute modifier. Three of the possible sticks use this mod: one boosts Experience Gained, one adds Life Steal (between 0 and 0.2) and one grants Elytra Flight.[7]
How do you progress through Apothic Attributes?
1 part
The pack data for Apothic Attributes shows no tier ladder to follow, so this section stays short. What it does show is one custom smithing recipe that involves the mod.[5]
The one in-pack recipe
The pack adds a smithing-table upgrade that turns a Celestigem Sword into an Skullfire Sword. It is a smithing transform, so you craft it at a smithing table. The pack added this recipe itself, so it is not a default from either mod.[5]
Added by the pack. This is the exact in-pack smithing recipe.
Besides the Skullfire Sword, the recipe's result list also includes Apothic Attributes entries with generated, command-style names.[5]
How does Apothic Attributes work with other mods?
The only link between Apothic Attributes and other mods that the sources here confirm is a recipe the pack adds itself. It is a smithing transform that produces the Skullfire Sword, and its recipe data also lists some Apothic Attributes entries alongside the sword.[5]
Smithing recipe added by the pack, shown here with its exact in-pack ingredients.
The recipe starts from the Celestigem Sword and uses the Smithing Template together with an Ignitium Ingot. So the result is a crossover between several mods, with Apothic Attributes attached to the output.[5]
The Apothic Attributes entries in the output have generated-looking names that start with command_generated. The recipe data does not say what they do, so treat them as an extra detail of this recipe and not as a documented feature.[5]
What changed in Apothic Attributes between versions?
FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 ships Apothic Attributes 2.10.1. The mod has been in the pack since StoneBlock 4 1.0.0 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[8]
The pack changelogs don't have any entries for this mod, so there is no pack-specific change to point to here.[8]
Unverified The details of what changed in the mod's 2.10.0 release couldn't be confirmed from the sources available for this section, so none are listed here.
