What is Mekanism?
1 part
Mekanism is a tech mod built around machines, energy and efficient ore processing. Instead of smelting an ore straight into one ingot, you run it through purification, dissolution, chemical injection and crystallization chains to get double, triple or even quintuple the ingots per ore, given enough infrastructure and energy. Machines can also be upgraded to factories that process 3 (basic), 5 (advanced), 7 (elite) or 9 (ultimate) items at once. It also adds hydrogen-powered Jetpacks, the Robit, the Digital Miner and Logistical Transporters.[1]
This pack ships Mekanism, Mekanism Generators and Mekanism Tools, all at version 10.7.19. Mekanism Generators adds the power side: Heat, Gas-Burning, Bio, Solar, Advanced Solar and Wind generators, plus the Fission Reactor, Fusion Reactor and Turbine. Mekanism Tools adds tools, armor, shields and Paxels (an axe, pickaxe and shovel in one) for Bronze, Lapis Lazuli, Osmium, Refined Glowstone, Refined Obsidian and Steel, and Paxels for the vanilla Wood, Stone, Iron, Gold and Diamond tiers.[2][3][4]
Where it sits in the quest book
The pack's quest book has a "Mekanism" chapter in the "Tech Mods" group. It is chapter 27 of 31 in the book and holds 50 quests. Only some of those quests are covered here, so open the quest book for the rest of the chapter.[5]
It opens with "Welcome To Mekanism!" quest, which asks you to get some osmium. The next quest is "The Metallurgic Infuser" quest. Several quests branch off it: "Redstone Infusion" quest, "Carbon Infusion" quest and "Generating Power" quest. The last of those has you set up the Heat Generator.[5]
"Machine Casings" quest comes after Carbon Infusion, and most of the machine quests branch off it. These include "The Crusher" quest, "The Enrichment Chamber" quest, "Purifying Ores" quest, a quest in "Mekanism" and "Thermal Evaporation Towers" quest. From there the chapter goes on to "Diamond Infusions" quest, "Bio Fuel" quest, "Liquid Lithium" quest and "Ethene" quest.[5]
The other machine quests also come after "Machine Casings" quest: "The Electrolytic Separator" quest, "Spinny Machine" quest and "Chemical Oxidizer" quest. "The Chemical Infuser" quest needs both Machine Casings and Thermal Evaporation Towers. "Tier 1 Ore Processing" quest follows the Enrichment Chamber and Energized Smelter quests, and "Pressurized Reaction Chamber" quest follows the Enrichment Chamber quest. "Bio-Fuel Power" quest follows Bio Fuel, and "Refined Obsidian Dust" quest follows Diamond Infusions.[5]
How do you get started with Mekanism?
4 parts
The pack's quest book has a Mekanism chapter in the Tech Mods group (chapter 27 of 31 in the book). It opens with "Welcome To Mekanism!" quest, which asks you for Osmium Ingot. The quest says you need to get your hands on some Osmium to get started, so grab that before anything else.[5]
Step one: the Metallurgic Infuser
The Metallurgic Infuser is the core machine of Mekanism. You infuse metals with other materials to make the alloys and circuits that the more advanced machines need. The pack changed this recipe, so use the one below rather than what you remember from other packs.[5][6]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: mekanism:metallurgic_infuser
In its interface the far left slot takes the infusion item, such as Redstone or Coal. The middle-left slot takes the item you want to infuse, and the output slot and an energy slot are on the right. If a Mekanism machine has an energy slot, you can usually put energy-storing items in it. The quest is "The Metallurgic Infuser" quest.[5]
Step two: alloys and circuits
The Infuser and some Redstone get you started on Infused Alloy and Basic Control Circuit, and from there you can move on to the Advanced Control Circuit. The recipe is shown below. The quest says these are used to create most of the items in Mekanism. The matching quest is "Redstone Infusion" quest.[5]

Step three: steel and Steel Casings
Put Coal or Charcoal in the infusion slot to turn it into Carbon (Charcoal gives double). Run iron through once to get Enriched Iron, then infuse it with Carbon again to get Steel Dust. Smelt that into Steel Ingots. Steel is also needed for the basic pipes. This is the "Carbon Infusion" quest quest.[5]
Steel leads straight to the Steel Casing, which you need for most machines in the mod ("Machine Casings" quest). The pack changed this recipe too.[5][6]

Step four: power and your first machines
After the Machine Casings quest, the book opens up several machines at once. These are the ones to look at first:[5]
- Heat Generator: it burns items like coal or wood, and it can also draw heat passively from lava around it. Take the power from the front face, the one with the square on it. See "Generating Power" quest.[5]
- Enrichment Chamber: it breaks 3 raw ores into 4 dusts, which is the first step of ore processing. Smelt those dusts in the Energized Smelter to get ingots ("Tier 1 Ore Processing" quest).[5]
- Crusher: it turns ingots into dusts and makes Bio Fuel from organic materials. The pack changed its recipe.[5][6]
Bio Fuel powers the Bio-Generator, which the book calls a useful early-game power upgrade. Like the Heat Generator, it only outputs power from its front face. See "Bio Fuel" quest and "Bio-Fuel Power" quest.[5]
How does Mekanism work?
11 parts
Mekanism is all about getting more out of every ore, and the pack keeps that core idea: purification, dissolution, chemical injection and crystallization can double, triple, quadruple or even quintuple your ingots per ore, given enough infrastructure and energy. This section covers how the pieces work in this pack, with the pack's own changes called out.[1]
Power basics
Mekanism GUIs show energy as Forge Energy here, set by energyType, and temperatures show in Kelvin via temperatureUnit. The mod's own costs are written in Joules, and energy_conversion.feConversionRate is 2.5, so 1 FE equals 2.5 Joules.[7][8]
The pack changed two energy values. energy_conversion.maxEnergyPerSteam is 60 Joules per mB of steam (mod default 10), and it also affects the Thermoelectric Boiler. The Rotary Condensentrator costs only 1 Joule per operation instead of 50.[8][9]
Machine costs, upgrades and factories
Most machine costs are unchanged from the mod. Here are the ones you will meet early, all per operation:[9]
- Crusher: 50 Joules (crusher).[9]
- Purification Chamber: 200 Joules.[9]
- Chemical Injection Chamber and Chemical Dissolution Chamber: 400 Joules each.[9]
- Antiprotonic Nucleosynthesizer: 100,000 Joules.[9]
- Digital Miner: 1,000 Joules per operation, a maximum radius of 32 blocks, and 80 ticks per block without upgrades. Silk touch mode multiplies the energy cost by 12.[8][9]
randomizedConsumption is on, so Chemical Injectors and Purification Chambers use a semi-random amount of chemical each operation. Upgrades scale performance with the formula UpgradeModifier * (UpgradesInstalled/UpgradesPossible), where maxUpgradeMultiplier is 10.[8][9]
Every Mekanism machine can be upgraded into a factory that processes 3 (basic), 5 (advanced), 7 (elite) or 9 (ultimate) items at once. Tier Installers upgrade your factories in place.[1][10]
Ore processing, using copper as the example
Each stage of the ore chain is a different machine and a different chemical. These recipes are the mod's own, and together they show how copper moves through the system:[6]
- Dissolution: Liquid Sulfuric Acid plus any copper ore makes 1000 dirty copper slurry.[6]
- Purifying: Liquid Oxygen plus any copper ore makes 3 Copper Clump.[6]
- Injecting: Liquid Hydrogen Chloride plus a copper crystal makes a Copper Shard.[6]
- Enriching: dirty copper dust becomes Copper Dust.[6]
The pack changed the recipes for the Crusher, the Chemical Injection Chamber and the Chemical Dissolution Chamber, so check these rather than relying on the mod defaults.[6]

Bio Fuel from leaves
The pack adds a Crusher recipe for every block in the leaves tag. Each crushes into 2 Bio Fuel, and the pack's recipes include Acacia leaves, Apple Acacia leaves and Black Mangrove leaves. The mod's own berry crushing gives 1 Bio Fuel, and a Block of Bio Fuel turns back into 9.[6][11]
Block back into Bio Fuel.
Generators
Mekanism Generators supplies the power side: heat, gas-burning, bio, solar, advanced solar and wind generators, plus the fission reactor, fusion reactor and turbine. These are the pack's values:[2][12]
- Solar Generator peaks at 50 Joules/t and the Advanced Solar Generator at 300 Joules/t. Both can go higher in some extreme environments.[12]
- Wind Generator: 40 to 360 Joules/t. The pack lowered this from 60 to 480. The minimum Y that affects output is 24 and the maximum is 384.[12]
- Heat Generator: 200 Joules/t base, plus 30 for each side touching lava, plus 100 in an ultrawarm dimension like the Nether. Its tank holds 24,000 mB.[12]
- Bio Generator: 350 Joules/t with a 24,000 mB tank. The Gas-Burning Generator tank holds 18,000 mB.[12]
Turbine changes
The pack nerfed the turbine in several places, so a build copied from a default-Mekanism tutorial will behave differently:[12]
- turbine.bladesPerCoil: 2 blades per coil (mod default 4).[12]
- turbine.chemicalPerTank: 32,000 mB per steam cavity block (mod default 64,000).[12]
- turbine.energyCapacityPerVolume: 8,000,000 Joules per block (mod default 16,000,000).[12]
- turbine.condenserRate: 32,000 mB/t (mod default 64,000). turbine.ventChemicalFlow: 16,000 mB/t (mod default 32,000).[12]
- turbine.disperserChemicalFlow: 1,680 mB/t, which is higher than the mod default of 1,280.[12]
Fission and fusion
The fission and fusion reactor settings are the mod defaults. A fission reactor's maximum burn rate is its fuel assemblies times 1, and each assembly holds 8,000 mB of fuel. The fusion reactor stores 1,000 mB of fuel and 1,000,000,000 Joules.[12]
Fluids, chemicals and automation
Blocks auto-eject fluids and chemicals at 1,024 mB/t (auto_eject.fluid and auto_eject.chemical), and generic storage items fill or empty at the same rate. Dynamic tanks hold 350,000 mB of fluid and 16,000,000 mB of chemical per block of volume.[8]
Each resource has its own transmitter: Universal Cable for energy, Mechanical Pipe for fluid, Pressurized Tube for chemicals, Logistical Transporter for items and Thermodynamic Conductor for heat. transmitterAlloyUpgrade is on, so right-clicking one with the next tier of alloy upgrades it in place.[8][10]
For item routing, a Logistical Sorter filters what goes where and a Restrictive Transporter lowers a path's priority. QIO Importers and Exporters automate adding and removing items from a QIO.[10]
An Entangloporter frequency buffers up to 256,000,000 Joules, 256,000 mB of fluid and 8,192,000 mB of chemical, which is also its maximum transfer per tick.[8]
The Electric Pump reaches 80 blocks, and the Fluidic Plenisher tries up to 4,000 blocks before stopping. pump.pumpInfiniteFluidSources is off.[8]
Radiation
Radiation is enabled worldwide. A Radioactive Waste Barrel holds 512,000 mB and decays 1 mB every 20 ticks. Sources shrink slowly, and at the default rate a 1,000 Sv/h source takes roughly 10 hours to clear. A Hazmat Suit protects you, and the Geiger Counter and Dosimeter let you measure the environment and yourself.[8][10]
Antimatter and the Nucleosynthesizer
The SPS needs 1,000 mB of polonium to make 1 mB of antimatter, costing 1,000,000 Joules per mB of input, and it stores 1,000 mB of output. The pack's data files crystallize 100 mB of antimatter into an antimatter pellet, and oxidizing a pellet gives back 100 mB.[8][13][14]
The Antiprotonic Nucleosynthesizer uses a pellet in its crafting recipe:[6]

The Meka-Tana can teleport up to 100 blocks, costing 5,000 Joules per 10 blocks (weapons.meka_tana.max_teleport_reach). Its attacks cost 625,000 Joules each, and these are the mod defaults.[15]
How do you progress through Mekanism?
7 parts
The pack's Mekanism chapter sits in the Tech Mods group (chapter 27 of 31 in the book) and has 50 quests. It opens with "Welcome To Mekanism!" quest, which tells you to get your hands on some Osmium. "The Metallurgic Infuser" quest comes right after it.[5]
Infuser, steel and casings
"Redstone Infusion" quest covers Infused Alloy, Basic Control Circuit and Advanced Control Circuit. "Carbon Infusion" quest turns iron into steel using carbon. After that, "Machine Casings" quest asks for the Steel Casing, which most machines need. The pack changed this recipe, so craft it from the recipe below and not from memory of the mod's default.[5][6]

Early power
"Generating Power" quest points you at the Heat Generator for your first power. "Bio Fuel" quest and "Bio-Fuel Power" quest then move you to the Bio-Generator. The pack adds its own crushing recipes that turn leaves into 2 Bio Fuel each, so leaves are an easy fuel source.[5][6][11]
One example of the pack's leaf crushing recipes.
Later, "Gas-Burning Generator" quest unlocks the Gas-Burning Generator. It sits after the Atomic Alloys quest, and the quest says to expect around 5k RF/t from a full generator burning Ethene.[5]
Ore processing tiers
The quest book walks you through four ore processing tiers, each with a recap quest. The higher the tier, the more ingots you get per raw ore.[5]
- Tier 1 ("Tier 1 Ore Processing" quest): 3 raw ores go into the Enrichment Chamber for 4 dusts, then the Energized Smelter smelts them into ingots.[5]
- Tier 2 ("Tier 2 Ore Processing" quest): raw ore goes through the Purification Chamber (fed Oxygen by an Electrolytic Separator), then the Crusher, then the Enrichment Chamber. That gives 3 ingots from 1 raw ore.[5]
- Tier 3 ("Tier 3 Ore Processing" quest): the Chemical Injection Chamber goes at the front of the chain and is fed Hydrogen Chloride or Salt. It turns 1 raw ore into 4 ore shards, and the full chain returns 4 ingots.[5]
- Tier 4 ("Tier 4 Ore Processing" quest): the Chemical Dissolution Chamber, the Chemical Washer and the Chemical Crystallizer go in front of the Injection Chamber. The full chain converts 1 raw ore into 5 ingots.[5]
The pack changed the recipes for the Injection Chamber, Dissolution Chamber and Crystallizer, so check the in-pack versions below. In the quest book, "Chemical Injection Chamber" quest comes after "Elite Control Circuit" quest and "The Chemical Infuser" quest. "Chemical Dissolution Chamber" quest and "Crystallizing Chemicals" quest both come after "Ultimate Control Circuit" quest.[5][6]

Alloy and circuit tiers
"Diamond Infusions" quest gives you Enriched Diamond, which unlocks "Reinforced Alloy" quest and then "Elite Control Circuit" quest. In the other branch, "Refined Obsidian Dust" quest leads to "Atomic Alloys" quest, and both feed "Ultimate Control Circuit" quest. Elite circuits are needed to upgrade machines to the Elite tier of factories, while Ultimate circuits are used for the highest tier pipes, factories and the most advanced machinery.[5]
The pack also changed how Enriched Obsidian is made, so use this recipe.[6]
Enriching (mekanism)

Once you have Ultimate circuits
- "Teleportation Cores" quest opens up wireless gear: "Quantum Entangloporters" quest, "Making Portals!" quest, "The Digital Miner" quest and the "QIO Storage System" quest chain all come after it.[5]
- The "The Energized Induction Matrix" quest comes after "Lithium Dust" quest, which in turn follows "Crystallizing Chemicals" quest and "Liquid Lithium" quest. The pack changed the Basic Induction Cell recipe.[5][6]
- "Meka-Gear" quest covers the Meka-Tool and the MekaSuit. It comes after "HDPE" quest, which follows "Ethene" quest.[5]
Cable, pipe and transporter tiers
Mekanism's transmitters come in basic, advanced, elite and ultimate versions. The Logistics chapter has a quest each for the energy cable, fluid pipe, gas tube and item transporter lines, all placed after its Mekanism quest. That quest asks you to make the Configurator, which you use to set them up.[16]
Mekanism Tools
The pack changed some Mekanism Tools recipes, including the Bronze Axe and the Bronze Shield. Osmium Boots come from a pack-added block casting recipe that uses 360 of molten osmium.[6]

How does Mekanism work with other mods?
6 parts
Mekanism sits at the crossroads of this pack's tech mods. The pack rewires a lot of its recipes so Mekanism machines, fluids and circuits feed into Modern Industrialization, Create, Oritech and more. Here is what the recipes show.[6]
The pack's shared materials
The pack changed many Mekanism crafting recipes to use materials from its own shared material set instead of the mod defaults. The Chemical Crystallizer, Chemical Dissolution Chamber, Atomic Disassembler, Chargepad and Gauge Dropper recipes all carry this pack change. This is why the first quest asks for an Osmium Ingot and the Carbon Infusion quest asks for a Steel Ingot.[5][6]
Crafting Shaped
| any ultimate circuit | any ultimate circuit | |

Changed by the pack
Mekanism Tools follows the same pattern. The bronze axe and shield recipes were changed to use the pack's Bronze Ingot. Smelting or blasting bronze tools and armor gives back a Bronze Nugget.[6]
Oxygen as a plate press
The pack adds compressing recipes where Mekanism's Liquid Oxygen turns materials from other mods into plates. For example, a Bronze Double Ingot becomes 2 Bronze Plate. The same idea covers Silicon Plate, Diamond Plate, Carbon Plate, Annealed Copper Plate and the Overcharged Copper Sheet.[6]
Compressing (mekanism)
Recipe id: ftb:unification/mekanism/compressing/double_ingot_to_plates/bronze
Ore processing for pack metals
Mekanism's ore chain handles the pack's metals too. The pack adds 56 injecting recipes, 56 purifying recipes and 43 dissolution recipes. They use Liquid Hydrogen Chloride, Liquid Oxygen and Liquid Sulfuric Acid, and make clusters, shards and clumps for 13 different results. Aluminum and raw copper blocks are two examples.[6]
Purifying (mekanism)
Recipe id: ftb:unification/mekanism/purifying/raw_block_to_clump/copper
The Mekanism quest chapter walks you through the machines behind this chain, such as "Purifying Ores" quest, "Chemical Oxidizer" quest and "The Chemical Infuser" quest. The Chemical Oxidizer quest asks for the pack's Sulfur Dust.[5]
Bio Fuel from other mods' leaves
The pack adds crushing recipes so leaves from other mods make 2 Bio Fuel each. Examples are Apple Acacia Leaves, Cascading Archwood Leaves, Alder Leaves, Azure Runewood Leaves and Black Mangrove Leaves. Overall there are 66 such recipes for Chipped blocks and 20 for Tropicraft blocks. The Crusher quest mentions Biofuel as one of the Crusher's three main uses.[5][6]
Modern Industrialization
- The chemical reactor recipe for Ethylbenzene was changed to take Mekanism's Liquid Ethene.[6]
- Two changed heat exchanger recipes convert between Mekanism's Liquid Steam and Heavy Water with its steam.[6]
- The Mekanism rotary recipe for hydrogen was changed so it involves both Liquid Hydrogen and Modern Industrialization's Hydrogen.[6]
- Pack-added QED recipes turn an Elite Control Circuit into an Analog Circuit. They also use an Ultimate Control Circuit to make an Arithmetic Logic Unit.[6]
- The pack's fluid tags group the Mekanism and Modern Industrialization versions of hydrogen, oxygen, chlorine, ethene, steam, heavy water, deuterium and tritium, so recipes can treat them alike.[17]
Other mods
- Create: splashing Crushed Raw Lead gives 9 Lead Nugget. A pack-added sifting recipe with the Mechanical Blazing Mesh can drop Dirty Netherite Scrap from Crushed Basalt.[6]
- Oritech: its centrifuge and refinery have recipes that make Lead Dust and Lead Clump.[6]
- Ender IO: a pack-added recipe turns an Advanced Pressurized Tube plus a Conduit Binder into 3 conduits.[6]
- Refined Storage: the 1024B Chemical Storage Part recipe was changed by the pack.[6]
- Productive Metalworks: casting molten bronze into an Ingot Cast makes Mekanism's Bronze Ingot.[6]
If you want the Creative Chemical Tank, the pack adds a recipe for it that uses Creative Ascension.[6]
Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use Mekanism?
6 parts
Most of the Mekanism questing lives in one chapter, also called Mekanism, in the Tech Mods group (chapter 27 of 31 in the book, 50 quests). The Logistics and Modern Industrialization chapters touch the mod too. Several machine quests introduce a machine by its first use only, and say it has more uses later, so treat each machine quest as a first step. Here is the order the main chapter takes you through.[5][16][18]
Getting started
- "Welcome To Mekanism!" quest is the entry point and asks for an osmium ingot. "The Metallurgic Infuser" quest comes after it and asks for the Metallurgic Infuser.[5]
- Several quests are listed as coming after the Infuser quest. "Redstone Infusion" quest asks for an Infused Alloy, a Basic Control Circuit and an Advanced Control Circuit. "Carbon Infusion" quest asks for Enriched Iron and a steel ingot. "Generating Power" quest asks for the Heat Generator.[5]
- "Machine Casings" quest is listed after Carbon Infusion and asks for the Steel Casing. Most of the machine quests list it as a prerequisite.[5]
Machines and ore processing
These machine quests list Machine Casings as a prerequisite: "Purifying Ores" quest, a quest in "Mekanism", "Spinny Machine" quest, "Chemical Oxidizer" quest, "The Electrolytic Separator" quest, "The Crusher" quest, "Thermal Evaporation Towers" quest and "The Enrichment Chamber" quest. "The Chemical Infuser" quest lists both Machine Casings and the Thermal Evaporation Towers quest. Some of these are introductions: the Rotary Condensentrator quest uses the machine, for now, to make Water Vapor from Water, and the Chemical Infuser quest uses it, for now, to make Hydrogen Chloride.[5]
The chapter also has four checkmark recap quests for ore processing: "Tier 1 Ore Processing" quest, "Tier 2 Ore Processing" quest, "Tier 3 Ore Processing" quest and "Tier 4 Ore Processing" quest. According to the recaps, Tier 1 turns 3 raw ores into 4 dusts, Tier 2 gives 3 ingots from 1 raw ore, Tier 3 gives 4 and Tier 4 gives 5. The Tier 3 recap is listed after "Chemical Injection Chamber" quest. The Tier 4 recap is listed after "Washing Chemicals" quest, "Crystallizing Chemicals" quest and "Chemical Dissolution Chamber" quest.[5]
Alloys and circuits
"Diamond Infusions" quest is listed before "Refined Obsidian Dust" quest and "Reinforced Alloy" quest. "Elite Control Circuit" quest is listed after Reinforced Alloy. "Atomic Alloys" quest lists Reinforced Alloy and Refined Obsidian Dust. "Ultimate Control Circuit" quest lists Elite Control Circuit and Atomic Alloys. "Refined Ingots" quest is listed after Refined Obsidian Dust and asks for the Osmium Compressor.[5]
Power
- "Bio Fuel" quest is listed after the Crusher quest, and "Bio-Fuel Power" quest is listed after it and asks for the Bio-Generator.[5]
- "Industrial Turbines" quest asks for the multiblock parts, including the Turbine Casing and the Turbine Rotor. It is listed after the Metallurgic Infuser quest and one other quest.[5]
- "Gas-Burning Generator" quest asks for the Gas-Burning Generator and is listed after Atomic Alloys. The quest text says you can expect about 5k RF/t from a full generator burning Ethene.[5]
- "The Energized Induction Matrix" quest is listed after "Lithium Dust" quest and asks for the Induction Casing, Induction Port, Basic Induction Cell and Basic Induction Provider.[5]
Ethene, gear and the late game
"Pressurized Reaction Chamber" quest is listed before "Ethene" quest, which is listed before "HDPE" quest. "Meka-Gear" quest is listed after HDPE and asks for the Meka-Tool, a MekaSuit piece and the Modification Station.[5]
"Teleportation Cores" quest is listed after Ultimate Control Circuit. "Quantum Entangloporters" quest, "Making Portals!" quest, "The Digital Miner" quest and "QIO Storage System" quest are listed after it. The QIO quest is in turn listed before "QIO Drives" quest, "Portable QIO Dashboard" quest and "QIO Importing & Exporting" quest.[5]
Other chapters that mention Mekanism
- The Logistics chapter (group Resources & Logistics, chapter 9 of 31) has a quest called "Mekanism" quest asking for the Configurator. Four quests follow it: "Mekanism's Energy Cable" quest, "Mekanism's Fluid Pipes" quest, "Mekanism's Item Pipes" quest and "Mekanism's Gas Tubes" quest, covering Mekanism's cables, fluid pipes, item pipes and gas tubes.[16]
- The Modern Industrialization chapter (group Tech Mods, chapter 28 of 31, 68 quests) has an untitled checkmark quest for players who chose the Mekanism route to Steel. "The Gears of Industry" quest mentions the Metallurgic Infuser as one way to get steel.[18]
- In that chapter, "We Cannot Resist This" quest accepts the Elite Control Circuit and "We Are Resisting This" quest accepts the Ultimate Control Circuit. "Liquid Ethene" quest asks for the Liquid Ethene Bucket. "Powering Up" quest says the pack unifies power, so Mekanism generators can power MI machines and vice versa.[18]
Most of the Modern Industrialization chapter's quests are not covered here. They are in the quest book, so check it there for any other Mekanism links.[18]
Which Mekanism config options matter?
4 parts
Most of Mekanism's config in this pack is left at the mod default. A handful of values were changed on purpose, and those are the ones that affect how you build and plan. They are all in the Mekanism config folder.[8][9][12]
What the pack changed
- energy_conversion.maxEnergyPerSteam is 60 Joules per mB of steam. The mod default is 10. The option description says it also affects the Thermoelectric Boiler.[8]
- rotaryCondensentrator is 1 Joule per operation for the Rotary Condensentrator. The mod default is 50.[9]
- wind_generator.generationMin is 40 Joules per tick (default 60), and wind_generator.generationMax is 360 (default 480). Wind Generators produce less than in the base mod.[12]
Turbine changes
The Turbine has the most changes. turbine.bladesPerCoil is 2, where the mod default is 4, so each Electromagnetic Coil supports fewer blades.[12]
- turbine.chemicalPerTank: 32,000 mB per block of the steam cavity (default 64,000).[12]
- turbine.energyCapacityPerVolume: 8,000,000 Joules per block (default 16,000,000).[12]
- turbine.condenserRate: 32,000 mB/t (default 64,000).[12]
- turbine.ventChemicalFlow: 16,000 mB/t (default 32,000).[12]
- turbine.disperserChemicalFlow: 1,680 mB/t. This is the only one raised, up from the default of 1,280.[12]
Left at default
Solar output is unchanged: solar_generator.solarGeneration is 50 and solar_generator.advancedSolarGeneration is 300 Joules per tick. The Bio-Generator still makes 350 Joules per tick. The Wind Generator height window is Y 24 to 384, with the lower bound at its default.[12]
Fission Reactor meltdowns are enabled. The chance is 0.001 and the explosion radius is 8, both at the mod default. Radiation is also enabled worldwide.[8][12]
The Digital Miner keeps its default maximum radius of 32 blocks and 80 ticks per block mined. The Electric Pump keeps its default range of 80 blocks.[8]
Display and quality of life
GUIs show energy in Forge Energy rather than Joules, and temperatures in Kelvin. The conversion rate is the default of 2.5 Joules per FE. Mekanism Tools durability tooltips are turned on.[7][8][19]
The Mekanism Additions voice server for Walkie Talkies is disabled. Some baby mob spawns are on (Baby Skeleton, Baby Stray and Baby Bogged) and others are off (Baby Creeper, Baby Enderman and Baby Wither Skeleton).[20]
Unverified This page does not cover values from config/Mekanism/tiers.toml, tools.toml, gear.toml, world.toml or tools-materials-startup.toml, so tier, tool material and world generation settings are unconfirmed here.
