What is Reliquary Reincarnations?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 5.5 guide

Reliquary Reincarnations is part of this pack, which ships version 2.0.65 of the mod built for Minecraft 1.21.1. It isn't a new addition either: it has been in the pack since an early release.[1]

Unverified No confirmed details are available yet on what the mod adds, who it's aimed at, or how it fits into the pack's progression, so those parts of the overview are on hold until they can be checked.

How do you get started with Reliquary Reincarnations?

4 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.5.1 guide

Reliquary adds staffs, charms, a handgun and a set of potion tools. Many of its crafts also use Slime Pearl, so the smart opening is to craft what you can make right now, then work toward the gear that needs the mod's rarer items.[2][3]

Things you can craft right away

Start with the Emperor's Chalice. It's an infinite water bucket, which is handy early on. One mode drains water and the other places it. Drinking from it restores hunger, but it costs you life.[2][3]

Next, make a Condensed Potion Vial. It's a single-ingredient recipe, and one of the Glowing Water recipes uses it.[2]

Then make Glowing Water, which harms undead enemies. The pack has two recipes for it: one built around glass panes and one that reuses a potion vial.[2][3]

Glowing Water also turns bread into Glowing Bread, which completely restores your hunger. That makes it a great emergency food.[2][3]

Prepare for the handgun

The Hunter's Handgun is a big goal, but you can prepare early. An Empty Magazine and the basic Neutral Shot can both be made without any Reliquary ingredients. The handgun is built in stages from a Barrel Assembly, a Grip Assembly and a Hammer Assembly. The handgun's own recipe is shown after the two recipes below.[2][3]

Collect the key drops

Two drop sources are confirmed for this mod. Molten Core drops from blazes and magma cubes, and Eye of the Storm drops from charged creepers. Molten Core is used in the hammer assembly, so it is a good early target.[2][3]

Once you have a Nebulous Heart, Magicbane is a cheap first upgrade. Its strength grows with each enchantment, and it has a higher chance of Reliquary drops, which helps you gather more ingredients.[2][3]

With a Catalyzing Gland you can build the Apothecary Mortar, which grinds ingredients into potion essence. The Apothecary Cauldron then brews potions from that essence.[2][3]

Pack-specific changes

Watch out: This pack changes the recipes for the Angelic Feather, Ender Staff, Coin of Fortune and Interdiction Torch. Each one now needs a Bat's Wing from another mod, so don't rely on recipes you remember from the mod's defaults.[2]

How does Reliquary Reincarnations work?

6 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.5.1 guide

Reliquary isn't a big tech mod. Its machines are a handful of blocks that each do one job: grow glowstone, brew potions, automate actions, speed up crops and keep mobs away. Here is how each one works in this pack, and which config values you can tweak.[3][4]

Altar of Light

According to its in-game description, the Altar of Light turns redstone into glowstone. You right-click it with redstone until it activates, and after some time a glowstone block appears on top of it. The description says it needs to be in direct sunlight to work.[2][3]

The pack leaves the mod defaults alone here. Activating costs 3 redstone (blocks.altar.redstoneCost). Making the block takes 20 minutes (blocks.altar.timeInMinutes), plus a random extra of up to 5 minutes (blocks.altar.maximumTimeVarianceInMinutes). While active it gives off light level 16 (blocks.altar.outputLightLevelWhileActive).[4]

Alkahestry Tome

The Tome of Alkahestry is the other half of the redstone loop. Shift + Right-Click to activate it. While active it absorbs any redstone and glowstone in your inventory. Put it in a crafting grid with certain items to duplicate them, and the cost comes out of its charge. You can also use it to turn glowstone back into redstone, hopefully at a profit.[2][3]

The pack keeps the tome enabled. The disable.alkahestryTome option is false.[4]

Potion brewing

Brewing uses a mortar and a cauldron. The Apothecary Mortar grinds ingredients into potion essence, and its description says you can combine several ingredients in one mortar. The Apothecary Cauldron then combines essences with nether wart into potions.[2][3]

The cauldron's description says you need a lit fire underneath and water inside to start a brew, and empty potion vials to get the potion out. Craft those as Condensed Potion Vial.[2][3]

Pedestals and automation

The pedestal automates whatever you put in it. A separate passive pedestal is only a display for items. The config describes several actions a pedestal can run, and each has its own range and timing.[3][4]

All of these match the mod defaults, so nothing about pedestals is changed in this pack.[4]

Fertile Lily Pad and Interdiction Torch

The fertile lily pad speeds up crop growth. In this pack it causes growth tick updates every 10 seconds within a radius of 4. Growth ticks happen most often within a radius of 1 (blocks.fertileLilypad.secondsBetweenGrowthTicks, blocks.fertileLilypad.tileRange, blocks.fertileLilypad.fullPotencyRange).[3][4]

The interdiction torch's tooltip says it repels creatures and projectiles. The config sets a push radius of 5 for mobs (blocks.interdictionTorch.pushRadius). Despite the tooltip, blocks.interdictionTorch.canPushProjectiles is false in this pack, so don't count on it pushing projectiles away. Blacklists for entities and projectiles exist, but both are empty here.[3][4]

Handheld item logistics

The tooltips of a few of the mod's tools describe how they handle storage and movement for you.[3]

  • Ender Staff: its tooltip says it uses ender pearls to teleport you around, and that Shift + Scroll cycles through Cast, Long Cast, Node Warp and Bind. A wraith node block is described as the destination in node mode.[3]
  • Coin of Fortune: its tooltip says it draws in items and XP. Shift + Right click activates it, and holding Right click super-vacuums.[2][3]
  • Emperor's Chalice: its tooltip calls it an infinite water bucket. Enable it to drain water, disable it to place water.[2][3]

The pack changes the recipes for the Ender Staff and the Coin of Fortune, so check these rather than relying on the mod's defaults.[2]

How do you progress through Reliquary Reincarnations?

6 parts

The recipes in this pack show a rough order for Reliquary: simple items first, then items that need Reliquary's own drop components, then relics built from other Reliquary items. The tiers below are my own grouping by how deep each recipe chain goes, not official ones.[6]

Tier 1: Common materials

These items need only vanilla or common-tag materials, so they are a good way to start.[6]

Tier 2: First Reliquary components

Here the recipes start asking for Reliquary's own components, such as Catalyzing Gland, Nebulous Heart, Molten Core and Slime Pearl. The recipes I have don't say where these come from, so check that in-game before you plan around them.[6]

The Hunter's Handgun

The Hunter's Handgun is a good mid-game goal because you build it from three sub-assemblies: Barrel Assembly, Grip Assembly and Hammer Assembly. The grip needs an Empty Magazine, so the Tier 1 work carries straight over.[6]

Mob charms

Each mob has its own recipe for a Mob Charm Fragment, and a fragment plus leather makes a Charm Belt. Some fragments only need common mob items, while others need Reliquary components, so you can work through them gradually.[6]

Tier 3: Chained relics

The strongest items are built from other Reliquary items, so you have to craft the earlier ones first. The Infernal line is a clear example: Infernal Claw becomes Infernal Claws and Infernal Tear, and those lead to Infernal Chalice, which also needs the Emperor's Chalice from Tier 1.[6]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: reliquary:infernal_chalice

Tip: Before you start a big relic, check whether any ingredient is itself a Reliquary item. Infernal Claw and Slime Pearl show up in many of the later chains.[6]

Pedestals

Pedestals have a short upgrade step. A passive pedestal such as Black Passive Pedestal plus a diamond gives the matching pedestal, here Black Pedestal. The recipes I can see cover eight colours this way.[6]

How does Reliquary Reincarnations work with other mods?

3 parts

In this pack, Reliquary Reincarnations connects to other mods through a handful of recipes the pack added itself. Some Reliquary items are ingredients in other mods' crafting, and one Reliquary item is crafted with another mod's essence. Here's each connection.[6]

Gate Pearls

Two pack-added crafting recipes for the Gate Pearl use Reliquary items. One needs Crimson Cloth and also uses items from Cataclysm and Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks. The other needs Frozen Core and Molten Core.[6]

Which Reliquary Reincarnations config options matter?

4 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Reliquary Reincarnations is mostly left alone in this pack. In the common config, only one value is flagged as changed from the mod default. Every other value that lists a mod default matches it.[7]

The one value the pack changed

The Rending Gale can hold far more feathers here. items.rendingGale.chargeLimit is set to 30,000, where the mod default is 300.[7]

The other Rending Gale costs are untouched. items.rendingGale.boltChargeCost is 100 feathers per lightning bolt, items.rendingGale.castChargeCost is 1 feather per cast in flight mode, and each feather you feed it is worth 100 through items.rendingGale.chargeFeatherWorth.[7]

Drops, loot and disabled features

Reliquary mob drops and chest loot are both on, through mobDropsEnabled and chestLootEnabled. dropCraftingRecipesEnabled is false, so the mob drops do not get crafting recipes.[7]

None of the big systems are disabled. The handgun, charms, the Alkahestry tome, pedestals and the potion system all have their disable.handgun, disable.charms, disable.alkahestryTome, disable.pedestal and disable.potion toggles set to false.[7]

Values worth knowing

Client settings

Nearly every item HUD sits in the BOTTOM_RIGHT corner. The exception is the Mob Charm HUD, which sits on the RIGHT through hudPositions.mobCharm. You can move any of them to BOTTOM_LEFT, LEFT, TOP_LEFT, TOP, TOP_RIGHT, RIGHT or BOTTOM_RIGHT.[8]

waila_shift_for_info is false, so you don't need to sneak to see the extra tooltip details.[8]
