What is Supplementaries?
2 parts
Supplementaries is a Vanilla+ mod: it adds content that fills gaps in vanilla Minecraft instead of changing the game's whole direction. The goal is for everything to be functional, good-looking and a natural fit next to what you already have.[1]
The content covers both decoration and automation. The project page lists jars, signposts, faucets, weather vanes, spring launchers, sconces, planters and lights, among other things. It needs Moonlight Library to run, and the pack ships version 1.21.1-3.9.5.[1][2]
Who it's for
It suits you if you like building bases that look good and want a few handy gadgets to go with them. You don't need to take it on as a whole progression system. You can pick up the pieces that suit your builds and ignore the rest.[1]
The mod is also highly configurable. The developer points to the mod's own wiki for tweaking or disabling individual features. Keep in mind that the pack can change values, so check this guide's config sections for what applies here.[1]
In the pack
The mod's Wrench shows up in a quest. In the Industrial Foregoing chapter, quest a quest in "Industrial Foregoing" is about rotating Industrial Foregoing machines, which most wrenches can't do. The quest accepts the Supplementaries wrench as one of several valid options, alongside wrenches from other mods. The quest's author tested them mainly on the Laser Drill and notes that some wrenches might not work with other machines.[3]
Unverified Where Supplementaries sits in the pack's overall progression is not confirmed by the available sources. The mod is not on the ATM Star quest path.
How do you get started with Supplementaries?
4 parts
Supplementaries is a Vanilla+ mod that fills gaps in vanilla with jars, signposts, lights, decoration and automation pieces. In this pack the recipes below are marked as changed by the pack, so trust the recipe blocks rather than what you remember from the mod's defaults.[1][4]
First, the Wrench
Start with the Wrench. The mod has an advancement for using it to rotate a block, and the pack's quest book lists it among the wrenches that can rotate Industrial Foregoing machines. That quest was tested mainly on the Laser Drill, and some wrenches might not work on other machines. See a quest in "Industrial Foregoing" for the full list. The pack changed this recipe.[3][4][5]
Next, the Altimeter
Then make the Altimeter. The mod's config describes it as a depth meter that displays your current depth, and its click action is configurable. The pack changed this recipe too.[4][5]

Decoration and utility
Once you have the basics, try the Awning. You can dye it afterwards with a matching dye, for example into a Red Awning. The awning config has options for slanted awnings and for letting entities fall through when shifting.[4][5]
The Bellows is a redstone-driven block that pushes air. Its pulse period depends on the redstone power it receives, and its range and velocity scaling are configurable.[4][5]
Bombs, with care
Last, the Bomb. The mod has a config option that makes bombs explode after a set number of ticks instead of on contact. Handle them carefully, and check that option before you rely on a particular behaviour.[4][5]
How does Supplementaries work?
7 parts
Supplementaries is a Vanilla+ mod of jars, signposts, weather vanes, lights, decoration and automation pieces. This section covers how a handful of its redstone-driven and interactive blocks behave in this pack, as far as the sources explain them.[1]
Bellows
The Bellows pushes air in pulses. It pushes during the part of each cycle where a sine wave is negative, and the cycle length shrinks as the redstone signal gets stronger. The period is the base period minus (redstone power - 1) times a power scaling value, and the base period is the period at a signal strength of 1. A stronger signal means faster pulsing.[4][5]
Push strength depends on distance. The closer an entity is, the harder it gets pushed, and a faster-pulsing bellows pushes further. The bellows also keeps fire alive, but only the two fire blocks closest to it.[5]

Wind vane and redstone signal
The wind vane swings according to two combined sine waves. The first has a maximum pitch of blocks.wind_vane.max_angle_1 (30 in this pack, the mod default) and a base period of blocks.wind_vane.period_1 (450 ticks). The second has a period of blocks.wind_vane.period_2 (150 ticks), which the config says should stay at a third of the first period for a symmetric animation.[6]
The redstone signal speeds the swing up. The vane uses the larger of 1 and the signal strength multiplied by blocks.wind_vane.power_scaling, which is 3 in this pack, the same as the mod default. The config notes that raising it gives a clearer visual change when the weather changes. This option lives in the client config file.[6]
Bubble blower and bubble blocks
The bubble blower spends soap for each bubble block it places, and it holds a limited number of charges. Bubble blocks have a maximum lifetime, and setting that option to 10000 makes them last forever. In this pack, the bubble block's blocks.bubble_block.grow_speed is 0.4 (1 would be instant) and its blocks.bubble_block.wobble is 0.2 (0 disables it). Both match the mod defaults.[5][6]
Cages and jars
Cages and jars can capture mobs, and a set of options controls which ones. These include automatic detection of small mobs by hitbox size, a health percentage threshold, a requirement that tameable mobs be tamed first, and whether captured hostile mobs become persistent so they don't despawn when released. Allowing all entities is described as not meant for survival.[5]
The pack's blocks.captured_mobs.tickable_inside_jars list only affects visuals, mainly particles. The config itself says that to allow more entities in cages you need to edit the respective tags. In this pack the list contains the pixie, dreadfish, lunar moth and hummingbird.[6]
Cannon and cannonballs
The cannon has a fuse time between being lit and firing, a cooldown before it can fire again, and a fire power multiplier. A cannonball's damage and block-breaking power are proportional to its energy (speed squared) times a power scaling constant. The cannonball also makes an 'explosion' on impact, and a break radius of 0 disables that. TNT-like blocks shot from a cannon can be set to explode on impact.[5]
Bombs
Bombs explode on contact by default. Setting a fuse to any non-zero number of ticks makes them explode after that time instead. Separate options control whether they break blocks like TNT, whether the item has a cooldown, and the explosion radius. A blue bomb is a bigger blast that scatters baby bombs, and you can set its split count to 0 to turn it into a plain, bigger bomb.[5]
Altimeter and utility blocks
The Altimeter has a click action that displays your current depth, and it's on in this pack. Unique textures per dimension are set up for the Nether and the End through items.altimeter.extra_dimension_textures. You can add more dimensions by supplying a matching texture whose path replaces ':' with '_'.[4][5][6]

A bottle used on an enchanting table can bottle up XP at a health cost. The block you click can be swapped for one from another mod through the config. Two interactions also appear in the advancements: a Turn Table rotates you, and a Wrench rotates a block.[5]
How do you progress through Supplementaries?
5 parts
Supplementaries has no tier ladder of its own in this pack. The only quest in the sources that touches it is a quest in "Industrial Foregoing", in the Industrial Foregoing chapter, where it comes after the quest named Industrial Foregoing. It accepts the Wrench as one of several wrenches that can rotate Industrial Foregoing machines. The quest text says the wrenches were tested mainly on the Laser Drill, and some may not work with other machines.[3]
The sources show no other Supplementaries quests. So the practical way to plan is to follow the recipes. Every Supplementaries recipe shown in the dump is marked as changed by the pack, so use the recipes on this page and not the mod's defaults.[3][4]
Starter builds: awnings, buntings and utility blocks
The decorative colour sets come first. The Awning has dyed colour variants, such as the Red Awning. Buntings come in the same colours, and there is a White Bunting among them. The Bellows and Bamboo Spikes also have pack-changed recipes you can craft early.[4]

How does Supplementaries work with other mods?
4 parts
Supplementaries doesn't live on its own in this pack. A few of its items are crafted with ingredients from other mods, and its Wrench has a job in the Industrial Foregoing questline. Here's what the sources confirm.[3][4]
Recipes that use other mods' items
The pack changed the recipes for the Present, the Trapped Present, the Sack and the Planter. Each one now needs an item from Create or Farmer's Delight. The exact recipes are shown below.[4]
Presents and Trapped Presents (Create)
Both present recipes are built around Cardboard, which comes from Create. So you'll want Create's cardboard on hand before you start wrapping gifts or setting traps for your friends.[4]

Sack and Planter (Farmer's Delight)
The Sack uses Canvas from Farmer's Delight. The Planter has a pack-changed recipe that uses Rich Soil, also from Farmer's Delight.[4]
Wrench and Industrial Foregoing
In the Industrial Foregoing quest chapter, quest a quest in "Industrial Foregoing" covers rotating Industrial Foregoing machines, which most wrenches can't do. The Wrench is one of the wrenches that counts for this quest. The others come from Ender IO, Immersive Engineering, Just Dire Things and PneumaticCraft: Repressurized.[3]
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Supplementaries?
1 part
Supplementaries shows up in only one quest in this pack, and it's a small one. It sits in the Industrial Foregoing chapter, so you'll meet it while you're working through that mod's questline.[3]
Industrial Foregoing chapter
The quest a quest in "Industrial Foregoing" has no title. Its task is an item task that accepts any one of several wrenches, and the Wrench is one of them. The list also includes wrenches and tools from a few other mods, so you don't need Supplementaries specifically to complete it. The quest lists Industrial Foregoing as what it comes after.[3]
The quest text explains why it exists. Most wrenches can't rotate Industrial Foregoing machines, so the quest author compiled a list of the wrenches they found that can. They tested these mainly on the Laser Drill, so the results focus on that machine.[3]
Which Supplementaries config options matter?
5 parts
Supplementaries is very configurable. In this pack's config files, every numeric option that lists a mod default is set to exactly that default, so among the options shown I can't point to a value the pack changed. Options without a listed default are shown below as the pack sets them. Only part of the common config file is visible here, so there may be more in it.[6][7]
Jars and cages
- Jar liquid capacity is functional.jar.capacity = 12, the mod default. The config says to leave it at 12 for pixel accuracy.[7]
- Jars can capture small mobs (functional.jar.jar_capture), hold cookies (functional.jar.jar_cookies) and hold liquids (functional.jar.jar_liquids). Each of those options is set to true.[7]
- Drinking straight from a placed jar (functional.jar.drink_from_jar) and from jar items (functional.jar.drink_from_jar_item) are both false.[7]
- Tameable mobs can only be caught in cages once tamed (functional.cage.require_taming = true). Capturing every mob (functional.cage.allow_all_mobs) is false, and the config notes that option is not meant for survival.[7]
Cannon
- functional.cannon.cooldown is 60 and functional.cannon.fuse_time is 40, both the mod default.[7]
- functional.cannon.fire_power is 0.6, and the cannonball block-breaking radius (functional.cannon.cannonball.break_radius) is 1.1. Both are the mod default. Set the radius to 0 to disable it.[7]
- TNT-like blocks fired from a cannon use functional.cannon.explode_tnt = IGNITE.[7]
Ropes, pulleys and road signs
- Ropes are enabled (functional.rope.enabled = true). The config says turning ropes off also disables pulleys and buntings, among other things. Horizontal ropes (functional.rope.horizontal_ropes) are on too.[7]
- functional.rope.replace_in_loot_tables is NONE, so other rope items in loot tables are not replaced or removed.[7]
- Pulleys use continuous retraction (redstone.pulley_block.continuous_retraction) and cooperative pulleys (redstone.pulley_block.cooperative_pulleys), both true. The config says this lets several pulleys pull one heavy contraption, which is useful for elevators.[7]
- Road signs are enabled. They search up to 200 chunks (building.way_sign.road_signs.max_search_radius, the mod default) and stop at the first structure they find (building.way_sign.road_signs.exit_search_early = true). The config warns that this means signs won't necessarily point to the nearest structure.[7]
Other gameplay options
- Sacks have 9 slots (functional.sack.slots), and functional.sack.sack_increment is 2, both the mod default. The slowness penalty for carrying too many sacks (functional.sack.sack_penalty) is on.[7]
- Safes still use keys (functional.safe.simple_safes = false), and functional.safe.prevent_breaking is false.[7]
- Notice boards only take maps and books (building.notice_board.allow_any_item = false), and hat stands are restricted (building.hat_stand.unrestricted = false).[7]
- Netherite doors can still be broken (building.netherite_doors.unbreakable = false).[7]
- The mod's own creative tab is off (general.creative_tab = false).[7]
Client options
- Flags use the fanciest renderer (blocks.flag.fanciness = FABULOUS), and the quiver renders on your thigh (items.quiver.render_mode = THIGH).[6]
- The clock block shows 24h time (blocks.clock_block.24h_format = true).[6]
- Tooltip hints are on (general.tooltip_hints = true). The tooltip image size for sherds, blackboards, banner patterns and paintings is 80 (tweaks.tooltip_image_size, the mod default).[6]
- The Quark-style config button on the main menu is off (general.configs_button = false).[6]
What changed in Supplementaries between versions?
1 part
All the Mods 10 8.1 ships Supplementaries 1.21.1-3.9.5. The mod has been in the pack since 2.25 or earlier, and the pack changelogs show it being updated regularly ever since.[2][8]
Notable version jumps
- 2.26: moved from 1.21-3.0.30-beta to 1.21-3.0.33-beta, still on the beta builds.[9]
- 2.42: moved from 1.21-3.0.41-beta to 1.21-3.1.2, the first version in these changelogs without the beta tag.[10]
- 4.1: jumped from 1.21-3.1.8 to 1.21-3.3.0 in a single pack update.[11]
- 4.6: moved from 1.21-3.3.5 to 1.21-3.4.4.[12]
- 6.0: moved from 1.21-3.5.17 to 1.21-3.5.24.[13]
- 7.0: moved from 1.21-3.5.32 to 1.21.1-3.6.4, the first build in these changelogs that is labelled 1.21.1.[14]
- 7.1: moved from 1.21.1-3.6.4 to 1.21.1-3.7.4.[15]
- 7.2: moved from 1.21.1-3.7.4 to 1.21.1-3.8.2.[16]
- 8.0: moved from 1.21.1-3.8.5 to 1.21.1-3.8.10, after a small 7.3 bump from 3.8.2 to 3.8.5.[17][18]
- 8.1: moved from 1.21.1-3.8.10 to 1.21.1-3.9.5, the version in the pack now.[8]
Many pack releases in between made only small patch-level bumps, for example 4.15 (3.4.18 to 3.4.20) and 6.5 (3.5.31 to 3.5.32).[19][20]
Unverified The pack changelogs only record which Supplementaries version was installed, and no changelogs for the shipped jars are available. What actually changed inside the mod (new blocks, fixes, balance tweaks) in each of these versions is unverified here, and so are any pack-specific recipe or config changes.
