What is Supplementaries?

1 part

Same as in the All the Mods 10 5.5 guide

Supplementaries is a Vanilla+ mod that fills the gaps in vanilla Minecraft. You get jars, signposts, faucets, weather vanes, spring launchers, sconces, planters, lights, plus a big pile of decoration and some automation blocks. The goal is content that is useful, looks good, and fits alongside what the game already has.[1]

It's a great pick if you like building and want your base to feel more alive without leaving the vanilla style. Its blocks blend in with existing content instead of replacing it, so they work in nearly any build.[1]

In this pack

All the Mods 10 5.5 ships Supplementaries version 1.21-3.5.17 as the NeoForge build. It has been part of the pack since All the Mods 10 2.25 or earlier, so it's a long-standing piece of the pack.[2]

Supplementaries depends on Moonlight Library and is highly configurable, so individual features can be switched off or adjusted. If a block acts differently than you expect, the pack's config may have changed it.[1]

Tip: Want to see who made the mod's art? Put a written book named credits into a Notice Board and you can browse the contributor list right in-game.[1]

Unverified No confirmed source shows where Supplementaries fits in this pack's progression or whether any of its items are part of a progression chain, so treat it as an optional building and quality-of-life mod you can use whenever you like.

How do you get started with Supplementaries?

2 parts

Supplementaries is a Vanilla+ mod that fills the gaps vanilla leaves. It adds jars, signposts, faucets, weather vanes, spring launchers, sconces, planters, lights, and a bunch of decoration and automation blocks. It's also highly configurable, so always trust the recipes you see in this pack over anything you remember from another setup.[1]

Your first craft: way signs

The easiest place to start in this pack is the way sign. The pack adds its own way sign recipes for a huge range of wood types. That covers vanilla woods, like Way Sign Spruce and Way Sign Cherry, and woods from other mods in the pack, like Way Sign Redwood and Way Sign Soul.[3]

Most of these are quick shapeless crafts, but some wood types use a shaped recipe instead. Because the pack adds these recipes itself, check the exact recipe for the wood you're using, either below or in your recipe viewer.[3]

Tip: The mod has an advancement tied to the way sign with the description "Follow me to find a village", so it's a fun one to set up while you're out exploring.[4]

Other early goals

Once you have a way sign, the mod's advancements hint at a few more things worth trying:[4]

  • Use a Wrench to rotate a block.[4]
  • Use a Turn Table to rotate yourself.[4]
  • Spin a globe at ludicrous speed.[4]

Unverified The recipes for the Wrench, Turn Table and globe in this pack couldn't be confirmed from the available data, so look them up in your recipe viewer. No quests in this pack guide you through this mod, so the order above is only a suggestion, not a set progression path. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How does Supplementaries work?

5 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 1.25 guide

Supplementaries is a Vanilla+ mod. Instead of big machines and multiblocks, it fills the gaps vanilla leaves with small functional blocks: jars, signposts, faucets, weather vanes, spring launchers, sconces, planters, lights, decoration pieces and some automation helpers. Everything is meant to be useful, look good and fit with blocks you already know.[1]

The mod is highly configurable and needs Moonlight Library to run. It is mainly a Forge mod. The Fabric version is supported but might be missing some minor features.[1]

Rotating things: Wrench and Turn Table

Two of the mod's tools are all about rotation. You use a Wrench to rotate a block, and a Turn Table can even rotate you. Each has its own advancement, so trying them out is a quick way to tick off some progress.[4]

Status effects to know about

  • Flammable makes you burn for longer when you're on fire and spreads fire as you walk, so stay away from anything you don't want torched.[4]
  • Overencumbered stops you from sprinting. Higher levels also reduce your jump height and slow your walking speed.[4]

Enchantments

  • Stasis lets Slingshot projectiles ignore gravity, so your shots fly straight.[4]
  • The lumisene version of Flame makes arrows from your bow deal extra lumisene fire damage.[4]
  • The lumisene version of Fire Aspect adds extra lumisene fire damage when you hit a mob.[4]

Way signs for modded woods

Way signs are the mod's signposts, and their advancement hints at their job: pointing the way, for example to a village. This pack adds way sign recipes for woods from other mods. The Allthemodium woods and Ars Nouveau's Archwood use a shaped recipe with that wood's planks plus wooden rods. For example, you can craft Way Sign Demonic and Way Sign Archwood this way.[4][5]

The Oh The Biomes We've Gone woods and Deeper Darker's Echo wood use a simpler shapeless recipe. You turn that wood's regular sign straight into the matching way sign, such as Way Sign Sakura or Way Sign Echo.[5]

Little extras

  • Want to see who made the mod's textures and assets? Put a written book named "credits" into a Notice Board to view the credits in-game.[1]
  • Presents can be addressed to a specific player, and the item shows who it's for.[4]
  • You can spin a globe, drink from a Chalice and even eat a bar of soap. Each of these has its own advancement.[4]

Unverified The sources don't explain how jars, faucets, spring launchers, weather vanes or the mod's automation blocks work in detail, including how they handle fluids, items or redstone. Check the in-game recipe viewer or test them in a creative world before building around them. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How do you progress through Supplementaries?

1 part

Supplementaries doesn't have a tier ladder in the recipes shown for this pack. What you get is a big family of way signs, one per wood type, and every one of those recipes was added by the pack. Which signs you can make depends on which woods you've got, not on a progression path.[3]

Two ways to craft way signs

Way signs come from one of two recipe styles, depending on the wood. Many use a shapeless recipe, including vanilla woods like Way Sign Spruce, Way Sign Cherry and Way Sign Warped, plus modded woods like Way Sign Redwood, Way Sign Lunar, Way Sign Echo and Way Sign Black Cherry.[3]

Example of the shapeless style

Other woods use a shaped recipe that takes that wood's planks and wooden rods. That covers Way Sign Demonic, Way Sign Soul, Way Sign Archwood, Way Sign Undead, Way Sign Aurum, Way Sign Edelwood, Way Sign Fungyss, Way Sign Menril and Way Sign Ancient. The cactus signs, Way Sign Cactus and Way Sign Cactus Extra, use this shaped style too.[3]

Tip: Want a way sign in a certain wood? Look up that wood's recipe first. For the shaped ones you need that exact wood's planks, so your way sign options grow as you unlock more of the pack's woods.[3]

Unverified The recipe list available for this section shows only way sign recipes, and many of the mod's other recipes weren't shown. It can't be confirmed whether any other Supplementaries items in this pack are gated behind tiers, materials or other mods.

How does Supplementaries work with other mods?

2 parts

Supplementaries connects to the rest of this pack mostly through its way signs. The pack adds its own crafting recipes that make way signs in wood types from many other mods. Your signposts can match whatever modded wood you build with.[3]

Way signs from modded woods

Several of these are shaped crafting recipes tied to a specific modded wood. For example, you can make a demonic way sign (Way Sign Demonic) or a soul way sign (Way Sign Soul) to go with Demonic Planks and Soul Planks builds.[3]

Turning modded signs into way signs

For a lot of other woods, the pack uses quick shapeless recipes instead. These turn a mod's own sign into the matching Supplementaries way sign. For example, Echo Sign becomes Way Sign Echo.[3]

Tip: If you're decorating a base with a modded wood, check your recipe viewer for a matching way sign. The pack has added recipes for many of these woods, so your signposts don't have to be oak.[3]

Unverified The recipe list available for this section may be incomplete. Other modded woods beyond the ones shown here may also have way sign recipes in the pack.

Which Supplementaries config options matter?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.11 guide

Supplementaries is built to be picked apart: it's a highly configurable mod, and almost every feature it adds can be tweaked or switched off if you don't want it in your world.[1]

The mod's own documentation groups these toggles into a customization section, and the author points players there (or to the mod's Discord) when they want to disable or adjust an individual feature rather than the whole mod.[1]

Unverified We couldn't confirm any Supplementaries config overrides for this pack, so we can't list specific values here. Treat the in-game config screen as the source of truth for your install, and check it before assuming a feature is on or off.

What changed in Supplementaries between versions?

3 parts

All the Mods 10 1.24 ships Supplementaries 1.21-3.0.23-beta, the NeoForge build. The mod was already in the pack in 1.20 or earlier. Below are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs for the versions I have notes for.[6]

Each of these changelogs starts by telling you to check the 3.0.0 patch notes. Those notes aren't included here, so the big changes in that release aren't covered.[7][8][9]

3.0.13-alpha

  • Jars with fishes now render correctly.[9]
  • Awning models are now 3D.[9]
  • Hat stands accept items again.[9]

3.0.21-beta

  • Fixed a server crash caused by the update just before it.[8]

3.0.23-beta (the version in 1.24)

  • The soap block now checks for a tag when checking for feather falling.[7]
  • Fixed some serialization failing on LAN on NeoForge.[7]
  • Fixed the sus sand and gravel bricks recipe duplicating some items in some cases.[7]
  • Fixed the sus sand and gravel recipe not crafting a valid block because of a mismatched component.[7]
  • Fixed cage capturing duplicating cage items when more than one was used.[7]
  • Fixed the cage item component not initializing its internal entity for the renderer.[7]
  • Fixed bamboo not being offset on a planter.[7]
  • Fixed twisting vines not being placeable on a planter because of the planter's collision shape.[7]
  • Fixed urns dropping themselves without silk touch.[7]

Unverified I have no pack changelog entries for Supplementaries, so I can't say what changed for this mod between individual All the Mods 10 releases.
