What is Supplementaries?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10 5.5 guide
Supplementaries is a Vanilla+ mod that fills the gaps in vanilla Minecraft. You get jars, signposts, faucets, weather vanes, spring launchers, sconces, planters, lights, plus a big pile of decoration and some automation blocks. The goal is content that is useful, looks good, and fits alongside what the game already has.[1]
It's a great pick if you like building and want your base to feel more alive without leaving the vanilla style. Its blocks blend in with existing content instead of replacing it, so they work in nearly any build.[1]
In this pack
All the Mods 10 5.5 ships Supplementaries version 1.21-3.5.17 as the NeoForge build. It has been part of the pack since All the Mods 10 2.25 or earlier, so it's a long-standing piece of the pack.[2]
Supplementaries depends on Moonlight Library and is highly configurable, so individual features can be switched off or adjusted. If a block acts differently than you expect, the pack's config may have changed it.[1]
Unverified No confirmed source shows where Supplementaries fits in this pack's progression or whether any of its items are part of a progression chain, so treat it as an optional building and quality-of-life mod you can use whenever you like.
How do you get started with Supplementaries?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide
Supplementaries is a Vanilla+ mod. It fills the gaps vanilla leaves with jars, signposts, faucets, weather vanes, spring launchers, sconces, planters, lights, decoration and automation blocks. It needs Moonlight Library to run, and almost every feature can be configured, so a pack can tweak things away from the defaults.[1]
The good news for your first session: the Supplementaries recipes shown here are all ordinary crafting-table recipes. You don't need any special machines, so you can dive in right after your first night.[3]
Check the Altimeter first
The Altimeter is the one recipe here that All the Mods 10 has changed from the mod's own version. If you've watched older videos or played the mod outside this pack, don't trust your memory for this one. Use the in-pack recipe below.[3]

Unverified What the Altimeter, Bellows, Bamboo Spikes and Cage actually do isn't covered by the sources for this page. Hover over them in-game and read the tooltips before you commit resources.
Jars
Jars are one of the mod's headline features. Once you have a Jar, you can also turn it into a Boat in a Jar.[1][3]
Unverified The recipe for the plain Jar itself wasn't part of the recipe data available for this page, so it isn't shown here.
Decorating your first base
Craft a plain Awning first. Every coloured awning, like the Red Awning or Blue Awning, is a shapeless recolour of that plain one.[3]

How does Supplementaries work?
6 parts
Supplementaries isn't a tech mod with big machines and power networks. It's a Vanilla+ mod that fills the gaps vanilla leaves, with jars, signposts, faucets, weather vanes, spring launchers, sconces, planters, lights, decoration and some automation. Its mechanics are spread across lots of small, handy blocks and items, so this section goes through the ones you can actually dig into.[1]
Unverified The available sources don't explain how faucets, spring launchers or the Bellows work, or whether the mod has any power, fluid or item-transport system. Check those in-game before building around them.
Wind vanes and redstone power
The wind vane is a great example of how the mod ties into redstone. The block carries a redstone power level, and its swinging animation speeds up as that power goes up. The config notes link this to the weather, mentioning rain and thunder, so a quick glance at a vane tells you what the sky is doing.[5]
Here's the maths if you want it. The swing is two sine waves added together. The first has a maximum pitch of 30 degrees and a base period of 450 ticks at 0 power. The second has a period of 150 ticks. The speed multiplier is the block's redstone power times blocks.wind_vane.power_scaling, with a minimum of 1. This pack leaves that scaling at the mod default of 3, so every extra power level makes the vane noticeably faster.[5]
Rotating blocks and yourself
Two tools handle rotation. You can use a Wrench to rotate a block, and a Turn Table rotates things too, including you if you stand on it. The pack keeps blocks.turn_table.turn_particles switched on, so you'll see particles whenever a block gets turned.[5][6]
Jars and captured mobs
Jars and cages can hold captured mobs, and tags decide which entities are allowed inside. The blocks.captured_mobs.tickable_inside_jars option is purely visual. It lets a short list of mobs keep ticking on the client inside jars, mostly so their particles still show. If a mob won't go into a cage, that option won't help, because the entity tags are what control it.[5]
A Jar can also hold a boat, which gives you the decorative Boat in a Jar.[7]
Display and info blocks
- Pedestals show off an item and spin it. This pack has spin enabled at the default speed of 2, and it uses fancy renderers for items like swords, tridents and end crystals.[5]
- Item shelves display items, and 3D blocks are shifted down so they sit on the shelf instead of floating.[5]
- Notice boards display text, which this pack centres. Put a written book named credits on one and it shows the mod's contributor credits in-game.[1][5]
- The clock block uses the 24-hour format in this pack, set by blocks.clock_block.24h_format.[5]
- Using a globe shows your current coordinates, and each world gets its own random globe texture. There's even an advancement for spinning one at ludicrous speed.[5][6]
- Speaker blocks receive narrator messages. The pack leaves blocks.speaker_block.mute_narrator off, so those messages are read out rather than only posted in chat.[5]
- Way signs can point you to places, and one advancement is literally about following one to find a village.[6]
The Altimeter
The Altimeter works as a depth meter. In this pack, clicking with it shows your current depth, and it has unique textures in the Nether and the End. Heads up: this pack has changed the Altimeter's recipe, so use the in-pack version below instead of anything you remember from other packs.[5][7]

Effects and enchantments
- Flammable makes you burn for longer when you catch fire and spreads fire as you walk.[6]
- Overencumbered stops you from sprinting, and higher levels also cut your jump height and walking speed.[6]
- Stasis is a Slingshot enchantment that lets its projectiles ignore gravity.[6]
- The lumisene enchantments add lumisene fire damage, one to melee attacks on mobs and one to arrows fired from a bow.[6]
If you want to tweak how any of these blocks look on your screen, the mod is highly configurable. The pack enables general.tooltip_hints, so keep an eye on item tooltips for hints as you explore.[1][5]
How do you progress through Supplementaries?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide
Supplementaries doesn't have a tier ladder in the pack's recipes. The recipes covered here are all regular shaped or shapeless crafting table recipes, so you can build these items as soon as you have the materials. Many of them take tag-based ingredients, which means other mods' versions of common materials usually work too.[3]
The pack's change: the Altimeter
This pack changed the recipe for the Altimeter. If you're following an older video or a guide for the plain mod, check the in-pack recipe below rather than the default one.[3]

Early-game builds
Most of these are cheap, one-step crafts you can make in your first few days. Nothing on this list needs another Supplementaries item first.[3]
- Bamboo Spikes and Bellows are both simple crafting table recipes.[3]
- The Cage, Bomb and Bubble Blower are also single-step crafts.[3]
- The Blackboard and Blackstone Lamp are single-step crafts as well.[3]
Two-step items: craft the base, then upgrade it
A few Supplementaries items are made from another Supplementaries item. Craft the base version first, then use it in a second recipe.[3]
- Craft a plain Awning. Then combine it with any dye in a shapeless recipe to get a colored version, such as the Red Awning or Light Blue Awning.[3]
- Craft a plain Candle Holder, then dye it. You can also craft colored versions like the Black Candle Holder directly from a colored candle.[3]
- supplementaries:bunting can be crafted straight from colored wool, or re-dyed later with a shapeless dye recipe.[3]
- Craft a Jar first, then combine it with any boat to make a Boat in a Jar.[3]

Building block sets
The decorative block families follow the usual pattern: craft the full block, then turn it into slabs, stairs and walls. Start with Ash Brick to make Ash Bricks. From those you get the Ash Brick Slab, Ash Brick Stairs and Ash Brick Wall.[3]
Blackstone Tiles works the same way. Once you have the tiles, you can craft the Blackstone Tile Slab, Blackstone Tile Stairs and Blackstone Tile Wall.[3]

Unverified This section covers only part of the mod's recipes in this pack. Other Supplementaries items and any further recipe changes by the pack aren't listed here, so check the recipe viewer in-game for anything missing. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How does Supplementaries work with other mods?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.36 guide
Supplementaries connects with Farmer's Delight in this pack through one crafting recipe. The Planter can be made with Rich Soil, so if you're already farming with Farmer's Delight, your soil can go toward Supplementaries decor.[8]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: supplementaries:integration/planter_rich_fd
Planter recipe that uses Farmer's Delight Rich Soil
This is a shaped crafting recipe that comes with Supplementaries itself. The pack has not added or changed it. It is the only recipe in this pack that links Supplementaries with another mod.[8]
Planters are one of the Vanilla+ decoration blocks that Supplementaries adds, next to jars, signposts, sconces and more.[1]
Unverified The sources don't say whether this is the only way to craft a Planter in this pack, or whether a Planter made this way behaves differently from one made another way.
Which Supplementaries config options matter?
5 parts
Supplementaries is one of the most configurable mods in the pack, with a server-side file and a client-side file. Every numeric value covered below is left at the mod's own default in this pack, so the things worth knowing are mostly the toggles, lists and mode strings that decide how the gadgets behave.[5][9]
Catching mobs in jars and cages
- Jars can still capture small mobs, hold cookies and hold liquids from bottles, buckets and bowls, since all three of those toggles are on.[9]
- Both auto-detect options are off, so cages and jars only accept the mobs their tags allow rather than anything that fits hitbox-wise, and the blanket "allow all mobs" and "allow all babies" switches are off too.[9]
- Tameable mobs have to be tamed before you can capture them, because the require-taming option is on.[9]
- The health threshold sits at 100, which means mobs can be captured at any health level, and captured hostile mobs are not forced persistent, so they can still despawn after release.[9]
- Drinking or eating straight out of a placed jar is off, and so is drinking from a jar item, so you have to take the contents out the normal way.[9]
- On the client side, a short list of mobs is allowed to tick inside jars purely for visuals, covering a pixie, a dreadfish, a lunar moth and a hummingbird from other mods in the pack.[5]
Explosives and tools
- Both regular and blue bombs use the "WEAK" block-breaking mode, so they damage terrain but not as freely as TNT. Regular bombs have an explosion radius of 2 and blue bombs 5.15.[9]
- The bomb fuse is 0, meaning bombs explode on contact instead of after a timer, and the bomb item cooldown is enabled.[9]
- Cannons keep a 40 tick fuse, a 60 tick cooldown, a fire power multiplier of 0.6 and a cannonball pierce radius of 1.1.[9]
- The bubble blower spends 5 soap per bubble block placed, bubbles break when touched, and a bubble block lasts up to 1,200 ticks.[9]
- A flute searches for pets within 64 blocks when unbound, and a bound pet can teleport from up to 64 blocks away.[9]
Carrying your stuff
- Sacks have 9 slots, and the slowness penalty is on: every 2 sacks you carry bumps the overencumbered effect up a level.[9]
- Quivers work from anywhere in your inventory rather than only in the offhand or a curio slot, and arrows you pick up will try to slot into a quiver that already holds the same type.[9]
- Lunch baskets hold 6 stacks and can be placed on the ground.[9]
Building and world toggles
- Safes are left in their normal keyed mode: simple owner-bound safes are off, and so is the option that only lets the owner break them.[9]
- Netherite doors and trapdoors are breakable, and iron gates keep their fence-gate behaviour rather than acting like doors, though two stacked gates still open together.[9]
- An end crystal on a pedestal gives an enchanting power bonus equal to 3 bookshelves, and planters double as rich soil when Farmer's Delight is present.[9]
- Ropes keep horizontal placement, can attach to solid block sides, and sliding down one is as fast as free falling while still negating fall damage. Supplementaries' own rope is used for rope arrows and mineshafts, and loot tables are left untouched.[9]
- Road signs generate and display the distance to the structure they point at.[9]
- Blackboards stay black and white for direct drawing, notice boards only take maps and books, hat stands only accept proper hat items, and item shelves are not climbable.[5][9]
- Bamboo spikes use the alternative mode: only harmful effects can be applied to them, and in exchange they get infinite durability. They do not give player-kill loot.[9]
- Soap cannot clean a blacklist of dyed block types, which the pack has extended with blocks from several other mods in the pack.[9]
Client-side options you might want
- Clock blocks show 24 hour time, and right-clicking with a clock shows the numeric time. Right-clicking with a compass for coordinates is off, but a globe still shows your current coordinates.[5]
- Tooltip hints and placeable-item tooltips are on, and tooltip image previews are enabled for sherds, banner patterns and paintings at a size of 80.[5]
- Quivers render on the thigh for both players and skeletons, and cannonballs render as 3D models.[5]
- Wearing a mob head applies a post-processing shader, which is worth turning off if it bothers you.[5]
- Flags use the fabulous renderer tier and are not forced to render as sideways banners.[5]
